    So Cool!
Yes, I'm 14 years old and still playing with legos! Even though this is recommended for an age up to 12 years, i still loved it! Being a '14 year old Harry Potter enthustiast' this set is great! Legos are still fun to me and in combines that with my favorite book (and favorite bus!)

    LEGO Has another Winner!!
This lego set is fairly easy to build for an experienced LEGO-er, but is a little more challenging for someone's first lego. In the inside of the bus, there are small beds which you can place Harry on. The beds slide so you can recreate the book or movie Knight Bus scenes. Once it is built, there are a lot of possibilities for different models!!

    magical purple bus!
From the time that the catalog from lego first appeared at our home my son begged for this bus. For a gift he was able to get it. He has not put it down since. It is a snap for expeirienced lego builders to put together and the great part of it ? It use's purple lego's! How great is that? It makes them special since as far as I know they have not been made before and only for this toy! He has absolutely fallen in love with this bus! A must have for lego fanatics and Harry Potter fans!

LEGO Harry Potter: Aragog In The Dark Forest (4727)
        Made by LEGO Systems, Inc
        Age Group: 6 - 12 years
          Amazon base price: $9.98
          List price: $19.99 (that's 50% off!)
In this LEGO set, based on a scene from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry and his best friend Ron Weasley stumble upon Aragog, a giant spider, while walking in the Forbidden Forest. Harry and Ron figures are included in this 178-piece set, but the real star here is, of course, the giant spider. Aragog is easy to assemble thanks to a step-by-step instruction book and once you're done reenacting this crucial scene from the book, he's free to be incorporated into other LEGO sets. And that's when the real fun begins. What pirate ship, medieval castle, or space station wouldn't be improved by a giant spider? --John Moe

          Trapped in the Forest
Ok so it's not much of a forest. One tree. But I have adapted it, buying a set of 10 trees and 25 shrubs, building the model on a board 4x the size and placing all the greenery round it, I think I boast the best Forbidden Forest yet! The spider is amazing and can be combined with the tree cleverly to create a whomping Willow. And the main part is ingenious. A simple string to pull which tightens a loop around three webs, pulling them inwards and trapping whoevers inside. Great design. Great product.

Great if you love spiders and Harry Potter
I admit I do not love spiders. However, plastic spiders are okay. The plastic spider in this Lego set is pretty cool, and while it could have been better, it is fine for limiting the scare factor for younger children.

The challenge factor is limited in this relatively simple Lego set. It is relatively easy to build. However, I do like the opening in the tree for the owl, and the spider web trap that activates when pulling a secret drawer was a nice touch to what would otherwise be a dull Lego set.

The tiny spiders are printed on bricks, thus making them no easier to lose than a standard Lego and similarly no more fragile than a standard Lego.

While the big spider, which is about hand-sized, is not terribly scary, it also minimized a couple of aspects to keep the scare factor low. The fangs are a single piece with minimal movement. The abdomen moves independent of the rest of the body, which is realistic. The two back legs articulate forward and back allowing a limited range of posing. However, that is the extent of the realism, and the average child will learn more from a good article in an appropriate magazine than from this toy. The lack of realism in the spider and the toy's relative simplicity are the main reasons I rate the educational value as only 3 stars.

The toy is a Lego, with all the Lego durability and quality. I enjoy the web trap a lot, which changes what would have been a 3 star Lego set to a 5 star set in terms of fun. I wasn't quite sure why coins were added to the secret drawer that activates the web trap, but more is always better, and the coins can be used as an aid to create your own adventures.

This Lego isn't one of the better Harry Potter kits, but considering the importance of this scene in the second Harry Potter movie, it is an important kit if you plan to collect most of them. I do like the spider, in spite of its inaccuracy, and I like Legos with moving parts better than those without. The price could be the next bracket down for Legos considering what you get. Overall I'd rank this kit as a lower overall value compared to some others, especially in the Harry Potter series, but I'm glad we have it!

            A bit confused
I tried playing with this game, but I couldn't figure out how to get the spiral game to work. That is the only one I have tried sp far and I've only been trying for about a half hour, but it gave me a head ache, so i gave up. But other than that, the game was a ton of fun and is sure to keep me busy for a long time.

An Uncle who bought a cool gift
I bought the Harry Potter Magic Puzzles for my nieces and I scored some major brownie points. They loved this at first because it was about their hero, Harry Potter, however, they play with it for hours on end. Putting the puzzles together is fun in itself, but then there are the cool magic tricks and the VERY COOL optical illusion using the spiral disk too. This is great for any kid interested in magic, as well jigsaw puzzles and Harry! A big thumbs up!

            ?
            This game is cool.
            anybody can play this game.

              Pumpkin Slushie Maker
I bought this toy for my 9 year old. he threw in ice and spun the crank that shaved the ice. He added mixes and tasted the slush. It tasted like vanilla instead of pumpkin. He loved the product. Buy this toy.

              Where are the refills?
My son & I had a great time making these slushies,
and they tasted great too. The only problem is
that you can't find the refills for it..ANYWHERE!
Had I known it would be such a difficult task, I never
would have purchased this. What do you do with it now?
The color changing/popping crystals is what makes it
              "magical." Kool-Aid won't cut it.

Great toy.. can't find refills... at all
This is a great toy! I own one myself. The only problem is you'll never find the refill packs. ...I guess you could use Kool-Aid or something, but it is not really the same.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the perfect game for Potter fans who've read the books, seen the movie, and still want more of J.K. Rowling's amazing world. As would-be wizard Harry Potter, you can run amuck in a virtual Hogwarts, learn to cast spells, play Quidditch, eat chocolate frogs, talk with teachers and classmates, and, of course, try to defeat You-Know-Who.

This is one of those rare games that both very young kids and their parents will be able to enjoy. You don't need the hair-trigger reflexes of a 13-year-old Nintendo ninja to explore the complex and mysterious world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In fact, exploring the school is half the fun. There are secret passages, shifting staircases, and dangerous shrubbery wherever you look. The ultimate battle at the end is suitably challenging, but overall, the game is fairly forgiving. And you don't have to discover every single nook and cranny in order to pass to the next level.

Interacting with one's fellow students is also fun, and a real treat for serious Potter fans. As in the books, some schoolmates are helpful, some are rude, and some are simply awestruck when they meet you, the famous Harry Potter. Nearly all the characters from the book can be found in the game, including Potter pals Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Some characters are even more fully realized than they were in the movie: Fred and George Weasley, for instance, are always popping up in unexpected places via elaborate secret doors. Thanks to excellent voice work and diligent artistry from the game developers, the characters in the game look and sound like the characters from the film.

It's hard not to lose yourself in the lush graphics and delightful conversations, but as Professor McGonagall might say, Harry is at Hogwarts to learn, not to socialize! The way you learn and perform spells is clever: you must trace a specific onscreen pattern with the mouse. Accuracy and speed in your lessons wins house points for Gryffindor. Aside from your schoolwork, you must win Quidditch matches, solve mysteries, and eventually confront You-Know-Who.

The game is charming, but it is unfortunately obvious that a few corners were cut. For instance, sometimes solid walls can go semitransparent from certain angles, and the edges of the oval-shaped Quidditch Pitch look blocky and amateurish. The game also has a few bugs here and there. And finally, disappointingly, the pictures don't move. Still, the fun of this game is not in the playing of the game itself. The main fun lies in progressing through and interacting with J.K. Rowling's unforgettable universe. On that point, the game is a huge success. --Eric Fredrickson

                Pros:

                • Talking with the characters from the book/movie
                • Sneaking around Hogwarts under the Invisibility Cloak
                • Quidditch
                • Easy navigation
                Cons:
                • Obvious that a few corners were cut in making the game
                • Relatively primitive 3-D graphics
                • Hogwarts pictures don't move
                Average review score:

                Fun use of downtime
I'm not really a video game connoisseur, but I like Harry Potter so I tried this one. I liked the graphics though sometimes Harry did seem to walk right inside the wall, and the background music adds nicely to the atmosphere. The computer I run this on is relatively old with Windows 98 and loading the different scenes and walking through the save game books takes a bit of time, and if I play for too long, everything begins to slow down.

I enjoy wondering around the castle and the grounds finding secret passages and looking for things and collecting beans and wizard cards. I like the parts of the game that involve solving puzzles rather than beating someone up (like Malfoy or Peeves). The end sequence I thought was a little easy or pointless. You just have to move back and forth playing a flute (to put Fluffy's three heads to sleep) or casting insendio to make the Devils snare let your friends go.

There are some parts that I am just terrible at. Mostly these involve anything with flying a broomstick. Either I'm an inept flyer or my computer is too slow either way, the flying parts really aren't that much fun anyway, so I just skip them. Overall verdict: playing in the castle, grounds and caves is fun, playing Quidditch is not.

                Great Game
My name is Patrick, and I am 9 years old. I got Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for Christmas. I had never played an adventure game before, it took me awhile to get used to the controls. I loved it when I got used to it. I have gotten to the last level, but I have not beat it yet. My favorit part is "sneak up to the tower". I have gotten frusterated when the fences get in the way of the screen. I don't like that Harry can't move when he is aiming. Overall, I would recommend it.

Excellent Graphics aside this is just plain neat!!
I love the game. I bought before it came out. I love Harry Potter and the characters come to life. I've played some RPG games before so had a little clue as to get to different things. It took me forever to figure out the stupid flying and yes Malfoy and the rememberall. You have to use the direction keys on keyboard then when you sort of get close enough that you sort of hook onto him and his power is down half way, then use your mouse right click and you bump his rear off his broomstick. (NOTHING FEELS BETTER AFTER BEING STUCK THERE.) :) Later on when you have to run from the troll, run fast, keep running and eventually you'll get past him. I don't have the hand-eye cordination I once had, so it's harder for me. Oh and when you get to troll fighting get behind him and then cast the spells. (...)

The history of video games is littered with translations of films--most of them bad. This game, while decidedly based on the feature film's visualization of the Harry Potter story, is actually very good in its own right despite being too easy for most experienced gamers. It's a fun, colorful experience even for the few of us on the planet who have neither read the book nor watched the movie.

Electronic Arts thankfully bestowed a lot of production value on this release rather than trying to cash in on a quick buck. Aside from the occasional pop-up problem that makes walls vanish quite unmagically, the graphics are beautiful and fun. Chocolate frogs (an appropriate health power-up) and other elements and characters from the book and film are wonderfully animated. The sound effects and, particularly, the voice acting are top-drawer, which helps suck the player into the Potter experience. Also, the gameplay is nicely varied throughout. Players go from learning a new spell in class to retrieving fire seeds for Hagrid to participating in magic fights against the Slytherin bully Draco Malfoy to riding the broom--which is especially fun. There's even a Quidditch level early on, but there's little to do and it's over very quickly.

On the downside, the game suffers from some really odd controls. Like many adventure games, jumping is really important, as many levels require you to clear obstacles or reach out-of-the-way items. But, unlike in nearly every other game in the genre, there's no jump button. Instead, players automatically jump from the edge of a platform from either a full stop or while running. It takes a lot of getting used to; if you're not at full run or full stop, it's easy to just walk right off the edge and fall. And, like too many other games, you can only save your progress at predetermined locations.

Another fault of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is its lack of challenge for experienced gamers. It's nice that the developers are trying to make it accessible to the entire cross-section of PlayStation-owning Harry Potter fans, but without varying levels of difficulty, it's less of a game than a tour through Potter's magical world. Still, it is an interesting world, and even though it's easy, the action is still varied enough to be fun. --Porter B. Hall

                  Pros:

                  • Good use of characters and plot elements from the story
                  • Varied gameplay
                  • Great production value
                  • Broom riding is really fun
                  Cons:
                  • Very little challenge
                  • Odd control scheme
                  • Lethargic camera movement makes it sometimes hard to see what you're doing

This game gets boring if you play it for a while. The further that you get, the more repetitve and boring it becomes. Graphics stink, but what can you expect from a PS1 game?

                  great for young gamers
i bought this for my five year old son for christmas...like a lot of youngsters in recent times he's been harry potter mad! :-) he asked me numerous times for this game. as a parent i've found it fairly hard finding games that i feel are suitable for my five year old...i found some baby games which i know he'd hate and loads of teen and adult games that were by no means suitable.

a friend of mine advised me against getting this as she thought it might be too violent or scary...it's not at all :-) i'm glad i got it...my son really enjoys playing it and it seems to be tailored to the needs of a young audience...if you have older children or experienced gamers to buy for then this probably is not what your looking for...my eight year old nephew who is well used to playing playstation games got through the whole game quite rapidly, he said it was fun but that he though he might get bored with it quite quickly...if on the other hand your looking for something for the young upcoming gamer in your family this is likely to be a real hit :-)

                  Second HP Review
I all ready wrote a review but I think I need to review again. I'm very disappointed in the ratings from 3 stars or lower. I mean, what can possibly be that bad (except for Disney's Dinosaur)? The graphics are totally not junky, and the dialogue is not boring! The Quidditch practices are not hard if you take your time and relax-- I finished it in twenty minutes at the most and in three days had 64%. Still, I would rent it first anyway. I rented it and I have a tip if you think the game is awesome: stick in your memory card and it will save the game from where you left off when you buy the game!! Another hint: If you're that stuck in Harry Potter at the Quidditch practice, how about you look on a website for cheats and hints? (DUH!) I'm gonna do that now because I'm stuck at Gringotts Bank. (Now that's a lot tougher than the Quidditch practice and matches so I'm warning you about what's next!!) A good site for cheats is www.game-revolution.com/games/codes. Trust me that you will love this game!!!!!!!
