Entertained is what you'll be once you've installed these games. X-Wing lets players pilot A-wings, Y-wings, B-wings, and (of course) X-wings in dozens of missions against the evil Empire. Although Rebel ships have the advantage of being equipped with shields, don't expect any mercy--the game is infamous for containing some of the toughest missions of all time.
TIE Fighter turns the tables by letting players work their way up in the Imperial ranks. Several types of TIE ships are modeled, from the ungainly TIE bomber to the incredibly agile TIE defender. In both games the controls are about as perfect as they can get in a game of this type, and campaign missions play out with convincing voice acting and great plot twists. The graphics pale in comparison to a newer game like X-Wing: Alliance, but there's so much gameplay in these CD-ROMs that we barely had time to notice. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros:
- A few hundred fun, challenging missions to play through
- Many different ships
- Sound effects and music straight out of the movies
- Perfectly captures the excitement and feel of Star Wars
- Updated graphics still don't look as good as those found in modern space simulators

would be more fun if wasn't so difficult
WOW!! THESE ARE GOOD GAMES!
Oh...My...GodI remember getting this game for my birthday way the heck back in 1992. The missions were so fun and CHALLENGING now this is a word that most people in the computer game industry seem to have forgotten. The appeal of this game for me was that because it took so much time to complete(I think I managed it in 2 years) the victories were all the swetter when you won.
Nowadays you can just type in a cheat code and skip to the end well keep in mind that such a thing did not exist on the old DOS machines.
X-wing was the first but later on Lucas-arts improved the engine by adding TIE FIGHTER (that's right a game where you play on the side of the Imperials) this also provides some very challenging missions but can be beaten with much more ease that anyone could ever beat x-wing. Still fun, just as enjoyable
Now X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter brings us relatively up to date combing elements of both games what you have is a game that is more useful for multiplayer than single player missions. This is finally where the age of this type of game in this type of format began to show. Most of the missions in this game were just repeats of the same missions in X-Wing and Tie Fighter. Although the graphics are better and there are one or two missions that provide a great level of enjoyment.
If any of you old dogs out there are still using 98 or 95 pick up a piece of gaming history and get a copy of this package.

Still the best space combat game!Playing XWing now (the updated version included in the collectors CD) it still feels fresh which is an amazing achievment when you consider it is now 10 years old. It may not have cutting edge graphics but they work well enough and still manage to give a smooth and convincing 3D feel. The combat and power management gameplay is still engrossing even by modern standards. To be honest the gameplay stil knocks some of the more recent Lucasarts console based space combat games into touch.
The updated in game orchestral music score is lifted straight from the movies and is a vast improvement on the 1993 Xwing's midi version. This is one of the best and evocative uses of the original John Williams score in any of the Star Wars games. (Much better than in Jedi Knight 2!) You really live the Star Wars experience in this game. (Not only that but you can put the CDRom into a CD player and get the music in full on stereo Hi Fi quality.)
If there is one critisism it is the difficulty. Tie Fighter the sequel game (also on the CD) is much more fondly remembered than Xwing but that may have something to do with the fact it is a much easier game to get into (plus the fact you are the bad guy which is more fun). XWing is hard with a capital H but I think that makes it so much more satifying when you get that mission complete message.
If you like Star Wars, especially the space combat bits towards the end of Return of the Jedi and you have an older PC (even a 486!!!) this is an ideal purchase.
Now this one takes me back...
star wars

Made from only 99 pieces, this set isn't very hard to build, but can be a bit demanding on consentration. The finished product can easily fit into the palm of your hand or slip into your pocket.
Also, several of the models that have been discontinued by the LEGO company, such as TIE Fighter, Vader's TIE Fighter, Podracers, Sith Infiltrator, Imperial Shuttle, MTT, and Jedi Starfighter; making this a great way to obtain them for at least 75% less of the price.
I love this set!! Buy it!!
The Multi-Troop Transport is pretty true to the original but just doesn't seem the same if it can't deploy a load of droid troops (kind of hard to do at this scale). The finished model is a good size for playing with.
The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid and believable. The set includes extra parts for making part of a Y-Wing (the rest of the parts are available with the AT-At, Millennium Falcon, and the Republic Gunship).
All in all, very nicely done.

Highly recommended for all Star Wars fans.
It depicts Luke in all of his Jedi Glory from the movie "Return Of The Jedi".
Luke's hair flies in the air as his body twists and his bright green lightsaber flashes, as it cracks and signifies the Return of the Jedi Knights to power and the Return of Luke's father, Anakin, from his long stint as the evil Darth Vader.
The determination in Luke's face is very apparent, and this action figure is SO DETAILED that it actually depicts the little growths that actor Mark Hamill had on his face, when he played Luke in "Return Of The Jedi"!
This is the best and the coolest Luke Skywalker action figure ever made!
It captures the moment when Luke transforms from the farm boy that dreamed of being a Jedi Knight, into his being a real Jedi Knight, who becomes a Jedi because he showed LOVE, towards his Father, not hate, like the evil Emperor wanted Luke to show.
With the bright green flash of Luke's Lightsaber, he defends the Universe against hate and oppression.
This action figure is BEAUTIFUL!

5 Stars for Durability. This lightsaber is extremely strong. It has shown no sign of breaking, even after a year of constant use. It is probably the most durable lightsaber I've bought.
3 Stars for education. Maybe it was a bit of an IQ test to find the place to put the batteries in that thing, but other than that, I doubt the public schools will ever use this product in their lessons.
5 Stars for fun. When you buy a toy, one would expect it to be fun. And the fact that it keeps my kids quiet and occupied for hours speaks for itself. The occasional, "OUCH! He hit my fingers!" does get rather annoying though... But seriously, I even find myself dueling with my kids and their Qui-Gon lightsabers.
Overall this toy is a must-have for any fan of Star Wars. I'd reccomend this one especialy for playtime. It's Durable. It's Fun.
May the Force be With You.
For 'fun' I give it a 5-star rating because it's about as close to a real lightsaber as you can get.
For 'educational value' I would have given it 0-stars, but I HAD to fill in this space, so I gave it a one. Its a lightsaber! What could you possibly learn?
For 'durability' I give it a 3-star rating. It's not quite as durable as the basic lightsaber, but you can still duel with it. And it has a pretty fair price. (compared to other ones I have seen that are $500.00)
Over all this is a very good lightsaber.

Boba Fett appeared originally only in Episodes V and VI until producer/writer/director George Lucas tinkered with the Classic Trilogy to make the 20th Anniversary Special Edition in 1997 and included the galaxy's most feared bounty hunter in the restored Han-and-Jabba confrontation scene in Episode IV: A New Hope. More recently, Lucas finally shed some light into Boba Fett's mysterious origins by establishing him as a 9 or 10-year-old boy who is an unaltered clone of a Clone Wars era bounty hunter, Jango Fett.
Even though Boba was last seen falling into the maw of the Sarlacc at the Great Pit of Carkoon in Episode VI, many authors and graphics artists working on the Star Wars Expanded Universe franchise have written post-Episode VI stories in which Fett escapes from the Sarlacc's tentacled mouth and resumes his bounty hunting career, and this Hasbro offering in the Star Wars: Unleashed series depicts the climactic moment of Boba's flight to freedom as his rocket backpack launches him out of the angry, hungry monster in whose belly he'd been expected to suffer for 1,000 years. It is a very energetic and kinetic sculpture, and every detail -- from Fett's dented and scratched Mandalorian armor to the flailing tentacle of the enraged Sarlacc -- is painstakingly recreated in a displayable sculpture any serious Star Wars collector should be proud to own.

it's all right
BUY THIS!This version of the game also has a whole additional game on it also, and with a 3D video card (even the most basic), the graphics are amazing. Dated, but hey, this puts the graphics of the old SNES to shame. It is VERY easy to set up and get started, and can be as tough as you want it. I've hardly even scratched the surface of all the various features and levels and know I have a lot of future fun in store for me with this. The music, while in midi form, is (to me) almost indistinguishable from MP3 quality stuff. And you get a lot of music. All sorts of variations on John William's great Star Wars scores.
There are also a ton of options. You can turn the music up or down, or off. You can turn the sound effects (also great) up or down or off. You can play your OWN music (MP3's) if you want while playing the game. Try some electronica/trance, or some Pink Floyd! Get creative, have fun. You can give yourself unlimited weapons and make yourself and your ship invulnerable to damage. The possibilites truly are endless. This is halfway between an arcade type shooter and a true space combat simulator, with various levels of both. In a short time, I have played the game for dozens of hours already, and am still discovering new things, and cool features. There is a neat pilot training feature, a "film" room, talking characters and background voices, it goes on and on. I can't believe I waited so long to buy/play this, but then, I am but a young, struggling Jedi-starfighter who has been deserted on a lonely planet for awhile.
If you have ever wanted to fly off into space in a variety of ships and enjoy the trip without leaving your PC, and if you are at all even the most casual Star Wars fan, you just gotta buy this, and now! You don't know what you're missing if you've never played. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em, and/or have a drink to warm your innards, turn down the lights, get that gamepad or joystick in hand, put on the headphones, and escape into the ride of your life. .. Amazing! And I haven't touched any of my old SNES rom games since buying this. Best [$$] you'll ever invest in a whole universe of fun, which you can visit any time you want to escape from earthbound reality for awhile. Did I mention that although it's a jewel case, there's a HUGE free instructional manual? What are you waiting for?
I know more recent and better graphically-enhanced Star Wars games are out there, and I've sampled them, but the system requirements on this make it playable for almost ANYONE with a PC, and for now, I'd like you to stop reading this, and go click this classic gem (and still unequaled in many ways) into your shopping cart NOW! You will thank me later, and as always, "May the Force be with you..."
Best Star Wars Game Ever

I know that you're not supposed to duel with them, but the new one cannot even come close to holding up like the old ones. I duel all the time with my kids. This new one is already bending when clashed... I would recommend hunting down an older one like Obi-wan's, Anakins, or Count Dooko's.. I can verify that those three are especially strong and are duel-worthy and have worked perfectly through 4 sets of batteries so far.

The Star Destroyer is a nice looking model and, for a mini, actually has a feeling of massiveness in its design.
The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid (although two sloped sides can lift a little as they are on hinges to get the slope). There is no packaged instructions for combining parts of this model with others to create a different Star Wars vehicle (some of the other sets do).
All in all, very nicely done.
- "wings" near the back can move even though they shouldn't be able to
- no extra model to motivate you to buy the entire series (like the TIE bomber or Y wing in previous LEGO Start Wars Mini sets)
- Uses new dark gray color
The color issue is only a problem if you intend to mix the pieces with other old dark gray pieces.
On the plus side, like all of the Mini sets this is:
- fast to build
- cheap
- easy to store/display due to small size
You get a manual, a quick reference guide and 2 CD-ROMs containing a total of 3 titles: "X-Wing", "Tie Fighter" and "X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter: Flight School" (a demo of an improved title).
this was the first game(s) I ever bought and was hoping for a good space flying/shooting sim that's fun and not too difficult. I got half of what I wanted...it looks good and the tutorials are fun and simple, but like most of these type games, most of us can only finish the first 2 levels before being inundated with unenjoyably heavy fleets and relentless laser fire.
