    Great adaptation for younger kids
I have loved regular Yahtzee since childhood and I still enjoy playing it with my children ages 8 and up. Since my younger children want to join in, but do not understand the concepts, I thought I'd give this a try. It's the first time I've bought a "junior" version of a game and I really didn't see how Yahtzee could be adapted to younger kids.

Well, the game design is ingenious. It is easy enough for my just-turned-four year old daughter to play, but it has the "feel" of regular Yahtzee so it is not mind-numbingly boring for me. Each dice has pictures of characters from the Toy Story movie. You try to get as many of one picture as you can (Woody is wild) in three rolls, then put the matching, color-coded chip on a playing board. The game involves simple counting and placing colored pictures on a graph-like board.

      soooo much fun
This game is so much fun.I love it.I like all the thngs you can
do on it like shoot lazer beams and spin around with your wings
out to blow up bad toys.I think this game is great for kids 6-9.
This game is really great. And Rex gives you hints where people
are.I think this is a really great game even though I only got
to level 5.as far as I'd say, this is a really great game.

      It's OK, but...
Disney presents us with another mediocre offering of a video game port of an otherwise great movie in "Toy Story 2."

Gameplay more or less follows the plot of the movie -- Al steals Woody and you (Buzz) must traverse the neighborhood in order to rescue your friend.

The game's theory is an awful lot like Mario 64 -- There are objectives to be completed in each level for which you get tokens (read: stars). After you collect X tokens, you go to the next level. Buzz can get power-ups (read: caps) by helping Mr. Potato Head find missing body parts)

Good stuff: Kids will find the first few levels and their charcters "cute." The first level or two is actually quite easy. I was able to find all the tokens on the first level in about 1/2 hour. the phrases Buzz says when he is just standing there almost make the game worth while (You're mocking me, aren't you?) Some of the solutions for getting tokens require a little creative thought and experimenting.

Bad Stuff: I found the camera angles absolutely awful. Buzz is NEVER looking where you need him to. Buzz's control is terrible. Some of the jumps, double jumps and "fine-line" walking is almost impossible. The characters' voices (except for Buzz) are NOT those of the actors from the film. They just sound 'wrong' and get annoying quick. Some tokens require you to complete objectives in later levels (You can't get Rocket Boots to beat RC Car in one race unless you help Mr. Potato Head three or four levels in the future) -- an aspect I find annoying in a game that is supposed to be following a plot (Buzz didn't have to go back to Andy's house to get something to save Woody in the movie, so why should I have to go back in the game to get stuff)

In a nutshell: Rent this game - once. DO NOT BUY IT. Especially if you love a.) Toy Story b.) N64 gaming. You WILL be disappointed. Small children WILL get frustrated at the length of gameplay and the difficulty of control.

      Yet another Disney game...
Toy Story 2 is done well. I think that the game follows the movie fairly good. I like how some of the levels (Al's penthouse) look almost like they did in the movie!

Detail: I don't think that the detail is as good as it could have been. Voice: Buzz's voice was excellent! It's done very well. Rememorble lines like: "You're mocking aren't you?" or "I am Buzz Lightyear! I come in peace." sound almost like Buzz in the movies. Graphics: The graphics in Toy Story 2 are pretty good. Levels: The levels are great! Big, detailed, identical to places in the movie!

Overall Toy Story 2 is worth 5 stars, easily. ONE draw back: you can't save your game. If you want to save your progress you need to have a Controller Pack/Memory Card!

A Christmas Story Action Figure: Flick

        I triple-dog-dare ya!
Poor flick. He gets beaten up by bullies and is finally dared to licking a frozen flag pole... and only the fire department can free him.

As someone who got their tongue stuck to an ice tray, I can tell you, it HURTS... but as long as you survive intact, it's a funny story later.

Flick has his tongue sticking out and comes with the pole. The level of detail is impressive.

Tongue-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit...
Oh gawd, I can't believe it! Action figures based on "A Christmas Story"?! Sheesh, talk about scrapin' the bottom of the barrel! I guess the toy companies won't be satisfied 'til they make collectible playthings based on every blockbuster and/or cult flick that's ever been released. What's next? "The Shawshank Redemption" cell block playset with sewer-pipe-escape action? A Billy Bob Thornton "Slingblade" doll that grunts, "mmm-hmm" when you push a button on its back? Or a Doctor Evil action figure with upraised pinky-- oh, they actually DID make a Dr. Evil figure like that? Never mind that last one, then...

Although I've no intention of collecting any of the "A Christmas Story" toys, I did find this particular piece the funniest of the bunch-- and not because it reminded me of the scene that inspired it. What it DID remind me of was the career path that Scott Schwartz (AKA the tongue-tied "Flick") decided to follow several years after starring in this yuletide classic. And in case you're wonderin' what kinda path I'm talkin' 'bout, let's just say that that tongue of his (not to mention other, um, parts) would eventually end up doing even MORE wrong things. Kinda gets me wonderin' if he ever got it stuck-- eh, I'd best not go there...

All right, time for me to dispense with my dark and twisted little thoughts; and get on with the review proper. Despite my finding it amusing in a sick way, I consider this particular offering to be the worst piece in the "A Christmas Story" figure line. The toy's likeness hardly even comes close to resembling the young'un it was modeled after. And he isn't all that great for re-enacting any other scene besides the "flagpole-triple-dog-dare", what with that 'tard-like grimace he's got on his mug. Actually, it does look like an appropriate expression for those scenes where Scut Farkus was gettin' him to cry "Uncle". Unfortunately, NECA didn't produce a Scut Farkus figure (a true injustice if ever there was one!), effectively putting the kibosh on the ability of super-geekin' "A Christmas Story" aficionados to reenact the "Uncle" scenes with their beloved playthings. On the upside, the figure's paint job and sculpting is very detailed and lifelike, almost on par with the stuff McFarlane Toys puts out. It's just a shame this guy doesn't have much articulation or a different facial expression for those non-"Triple-Dog-Dare" moments...

3 yr old can break it
My 3 1/2 yr old son got this for a present for being completely potty trained and loves it. He did manage to break the part that makes him talk or wear out the batteries ( not sure which). He still loves it as does my almost 2 yr old daughter.

          Batteries!!!
Woody talks when you pull the string, but at the expense of three special batteries.. the little disc kind. It cost $8.00 to replace the batteries.

We just bought this present at for Chirstmas and it is only April, and I have already had to replace the batteries..

This is the last time I will replace them..

It would be nice if it used like a AA or AAA batteries instead of batteries that I had to buy at a speciality store.

Thomas & Friends 3 Puzzles and Story Book Set

            Pieces are TINY!
My son loves the book. However the puzzles bother him. The pieces are tiny...much smaller than other puzzles in this age category. Although they are durable, I would recommend the company making them bigger so they don't get lost. This seems very pricey for a paperback book and 3 mini puzzles.

No reviews found for this product.
            A nice package deal
The fact that you get three puzzles and a book in this one package is what really makes this set a good deal. The puzzles are sturdy, with cheerful scenes of Thomas and Friends. The manufacturer was clever enough to put different patterns on the backs of the three puzzles as well, so you can separate them into three piles before trying to build them (and thereafter keep them in separate baggies, if you want). Or, you can mix them all together from the start for an additional challenge as your child grows up.

The 5-7 age range is probably pretty accurate. My son is 4, and these puzzles are still a little beyond him, but he loves to "help" me put them together by finding pieces for me, talking me through them and placing an occasional piece.

The book really rounds out the deal. At first my son didn't seem to show too much interest in it (he has tons of other Thomas books), and didn't care for me to read it to him for several days after we got it. But after the very first reading, I was surprised to hear him talking about the stories the next day and for days after. He was particularly struck by the character of "Cranky" the crane, and now he refers to all cranes that he sees as "Cranky."

            great puzzle
This was most definitely the highest quality puzzle we have ever bought. Our son has put it together many times, and it has not bent or broken like so many other puzzles we have bought.

I would highly reccommend it to any Thomas fans!!!!

              STOP!!!!!
This game is very easy and BORING!! I don't recommend this game for anyone!! Don't waist your money on this, you might as well just sell it at a yard-sale for all it's worth!! Save your money for a better game! Trust me it stinks horribly!!!

              (BOO HISS)

Sub-Par graphics and hard controls make this not a fun game!
Ok, i rented this game a while ago and im glad i didnt buy it. The world Buzz was in was too large, making him too small and he seemed drowned. Also, it was very difficult to get him to move the right way. The premise is good and the levels ok, but its the movment that really kills it, causing A LOT of frustration...

              Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!
I bought this game for my 4 year old and he loves it! It's his first game and I was afraid that it might be too hard for him. As it turns out, he really likes the game and does pretty good with it.

                Dreamcast Fan
I bought this game for my 6 year old son. But it is really a game for all ages. Once you start you can't stop.

Gamer and parent of a budding gamer
Like many Dreamcast ownwers probably are doing, I have been trolling for games to get cheap ones for my dead system. I have found many that both me and my 4 year old son love to play. This was not one. I was excited about this one, as my son loves Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear. After less than half an hour we both decided that this game was way too hard.

The 3-D perspective was poorly handled by the game engine. It is virtually impossible to walk a straight line regardless of the camera style you pick. Just about every jump has to be this ridiculous double wing jump. Precise moves are crucial to complete the tedious missions that even level 1 presented, and as an adult veteran of Tombraider and Spiderman, the controls for this game just made me mad. You spend all your time trying get the right position and failing to land in the right spot. How they could make a game obviously targeted a younger gamers so bloody hard to navigate is a mystery.

Envision your child controlling Buzz on a ceiling beam, trying desparately to make him walk a simple straight line, and slumping in frustration when he falls for the umpteenth time. My son loved Spiderman on the Dreamcast, and I was trying to find something similar but less mature. Toy Story 2 was horrible by comparison. Never bought a more frustrating Dreamcast game )except for maybe Qbert). Very disapointing. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME even for 5 bucks.

Good game but not for all ages.
Toy Story 2 is a good game with very good graphics.
It's almost like playing the movie that's how good it looks.
But be warned this game is for kids between (ages of 3 and 8). It's a bit difficult at first but once your kid plays it more then once, they'll get the hang of it and have fun.
If you are looking for a kiddie game than this is the game for you.

This is defently one of the uglyer Breyer horses I've seen.
Flicka was a palmino and this one looks like a chesnut.
It is very durable though. But if your looking for a very durable horse and fun to play with and educational and actually looks like the horse I would check out Hidalgo.
