    WormVue Wonders
I purchased this for my 5yr. old grandson for Christmas last year and he was thrilled with it. By the end of the day he could label all parts of a worm and was studying the included booklet with great interest.

The worms were ordered and arrived alive and well. After 5 months, however, none of the worms had yet become visible. Thinking they were dead, his mother convinced him to empty the container. There were the worms, in perfect health! He released them to the backyard garden and goes to visit them daily.

I was very disappointed with this purchase.

    Worms Extra???
I purchased this item for my 5-year old nephew. I recently learned that his mother had to send [additional money] to the company in order to receive the worms and the dirt!! Very disappointing. Nothing like getting a birthday present and then being forced to pay for it! What could my sister-in-law say to her teary-eyed 5-year old who wanted his worms? I intend to write to the manufacuturer and share my story with them. Moral: Send a check when you send this gift to anyone!

    Kid's love worms
We are having a blast with our Worm Vue Wonders. I was a bit worried at first that the worms would escape but they are securely held in the unit. It's well designed so that you can always see worms when you pull up a black shield that keeps out the light. We received our worms within two weeks like it said on the box. It comes with a booklet that has information and experiments. There is also a poster of worm anatomy and facts, plus seeds and a container for growing tomatoes with the composted soil. Really you get a lot in this kit. Our kids are really into experiments and such so this kind of thing is great for them.

    Glowing Night Sky Box
    Made by University Games
    Age Group: 6 - 12 years
      Amazon base price: $19.99
Why have a bedroom when you can sleep in the whole universe? The Night Sky Box contains more than 700 colorful planets and glowing yellow stars, plus a solar system mobile--all of the raw materials to construct your own heavens. The majority of the stars are definitely low magnitude (about 0.38 inches across) but some stars and the planets measure 1 inch across. The earth and moon are 7.5 inches across and look spooky and cool when they glow. If you want to get scientific about it, constellation charts are included; but you may have more fun and less frustration making it up. (If anyone tries to get critical of your star placement, just say: "Listen, Earthling, this is exactly what the sky looks like from my home star in Andromeda.") --Richard Farr

Mediocre -- there are better ones
I got 3 of these solar system things at once for our five year old who's into it right now. They were roughly same price. This was the least impressive of the 3. The 2D shapes and chinsey mobile hanger make it a 2nd rate solution. I'd go for the 3D balls instead.

      Glowing Planets abound!
I bought this kit in addition to the Glow-in-the-Dark Star Explosions and had a great time turning my grandchildren's room into the solar system.
These planets look great when they are glowing in the dark and are true to their actual size proportion and color. My grandson used an additional set for a school science project, taping the planets onto a black board in their actual order from the sun, so these are good for other ideas besides decorating a room.

        Disappointing!
This globe broke within 48 hours of delivery. The bracket that holds the globe to the base it not substantial enough. Don't waste your money!!

The best purchase I've made so far!
As an early childhood educator, I must say this product has the most for the money. There are at least 4 different educational uses. My son began using it around 13 months and continued until about 20 months. He loved discovering that the wooden dowels fit into the holes of the blocks and the table -early lacing skills! As he got older, he enjoyed the activities of stacking the blocks and the shape sorter. These strengthened fine motor development and eye-hand coordination. Cognitive skills can be worked on by counting, and matching the colors and shapes. It was also great that he found other toys, like plastic rings that fit on the dowels too. More than one child or adult can play so this encourages social skills. Clean up time was simple when the center is used for storage. The only thing that disappointed me was that the cover for the center starage area did not fit. As for the 4 star rating on fun - I'm not big on electronic toys but if you have them, you will understand that this may not be the first toy your child runs to. It also does However, if you kneel on the floor next to him to encourage and provide positive feeback, he'll learn much more than what an electronic toy can teach. Thank you Small World Toys!

            Fun play rug
We bought this rug for our 17-month old daughter, who is the recipient of many of the toys we wish *we* had. Right now, she's more enamored of having her own play space than she is interested in the neighborhood aspect. But, the rug is quite fun, with houses, a duck pond, zoo, park, school, etc.--all in slightly "off" perspective. The lanes on the streets are the perfect size for matchbox-sized cars, for when your little one is older, but toddler-sized cars work just as well.

All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. It seems a durable, colorful rug. It's long, providing lots of play space. Its no-slip backing should provide safety on tile or wood floors (though we have it on the carpeted floor of our living room). The best aspect? Our daughter keeps her blocks and cars on the rug--instead of everywhere else underfoot.

              great game
we've had this game since my son was 18 months - and we're still playing with it at almost 3. it's basically a memory game, but you can play it competitively, or not, with colors, or with black and white. if you love the book, this is a nice addition. the only problem is the cards - with a toddler, it's kind of hard to keep them on the table together, much less in the right "spots". but if your kid is kind of orderly, this is a great game to play with them.

This book is very neat and educational!
I bought this book for two main reasons: My little neighbor across the street has a LeapPad, too, and sometimes I go over there and help him read with his books, and number two, I forgot which sounds the long/short vowels make! Now I know. I haven't let my neighbor try it out yet, but I'm sure he'd like it. I took it to a party and the kids there played with this book and thought it was neat. The games are actually enjoyable and, sometimes, even a bit challenging for me! I'm sure younger kids love them. There really shouldn't be an age limit on this! I think that whether you have a child who needs to learn how to read or just needs some reinforcement or practice, you should buy this book and consider the other books in this series. Lesson Books 6, 7, and 8 correspond with this activity book. Good Luck!

                  Wood Number Blocks 50-piece Set
                  Made by Strombecker
                  Age Group: 36 months - 3 years
                    Amazon base price: $9.99
What could be more valuable in a child's toy box than a set of wooden blocks? Beyond providing sorting and stacking fun, this collection of 50 colorful cubes helps kids learn the numbers. Each block is embossed on two sides with a number (1-9) or math computation symbol. The remaining sides feature the name of each number and its quantity expressed in dots. Children will explore math concepts as they create patterns and sequences, count blocks, and create simple arithmetic problems while having hours of build-and-play fun. The blocks are packaged in a plastic, reusable storage tub. --Deb Oroszlan

                    They get used......thats what counts...right?
These blocks are good for the most part.My daughter is slowly learning the numbers, she mostly likes to see how high she can stack them before they fall. They are not good for infants to be around because the wood and the paint can chip off.If you your little one likes throwing you may want to look into a more sturdy block set because they can brake apart if you have a Hyper kid or if any animals in the house enjoy chewing things.Overall I think these are fine, my 2 1/2 yr Old Loves them and it keeps her happy and from stacking the Toilet Paper:O)

Awesome! From an 11 year old
This kit is very good for anybody who likes to build. Although there are only 7 pieces of tracing paper to go with it, you can always buy more at an office supply store. It's the best thing ever! Jordan
