    A family favorite. What happened?
I have three children, ages 5 yrs, 3 yrs, and 7 mos. ALL of them love this toy. The oldest rearranges the blocks to create her own composition. The 3-yr old enjoys matching the shapes on the blocks (represent different instrumental/vocal sections). The youngest just likes to press the buttons and hear sounds. One of our family's favorites!

Don't listen to the crackpot from texas
This is my child's favorite toy. We now own all of the cartridges available, and are sad to hear that neurosmith is no longer in business. This is truly a great toy.

    Don't buy this
I took advantage of the sale and bought a few of this particular cartridge for family members. Not one of them worked. They all had a horrible static sound to it. You can't return it to the company as it has shut down. Save yourselves the bother and hassle of buying this and returning it to Imaginarium.

      This toy is the boom!!!
You should buy this toy. And if you are a child who is reading this review and plan on gettig this toy be ready, everyone will want to try it!!!

This will make a great gift!! Also, you don't need to buy a game when you buy the Pixter because it has plenty of built in games!!

I hope you love this toy if you buy it!!!

My niece is almost 3, it's a no brainer!
My niece plays with her Pixter ALL the time. Yes, she'll have a question or two, but she loves the tap screen, like Papa's!! If a toddler who will be 3 in February can make this toy work and have fun with it, I say it is a "10"!! Yes, she understands the toy, too. Maybe she's a "Brainiac", but some of those reviews that others gave are pathetic, whiners!! Help your child, learn with them, have FUN with them, they have brains like sponges, take advantage!

      DO NOT PURCHASE
We got this for my son last Christmas and the theory of the toy is great. It didn't even make it through Christmas day before it started to not respond to the pen and then it would randomly bring up screans as if someone had made a selection. What a waste of money!

      Celestial Seeker
      Made by DaMert Company
        Amazon base price: $
This little device (small enough for a shirt pocket) is a bright idea for teaching constellation roaming to the younger enrollees at Star Fleet Academy. Flip open the lid on any starry night, find north with the built-in compass, and insert a card for any of 20 major constellations from Andromeda to Virgo. A light (in night-vision-friendly red) illuminates the card, which maps the constellation, tells you in which months it's visible, and explains how to find it relative to the polestar. Major stars and nebulae are named. Suitable for all latitudes between 20 and 60 degrees north. The flip-open design, so reminiscent of a Star Trek communicator, can't be accidental: beam us up. --Richard Farr

        Okay
This isn't "great". If you can print out a picture of a constellation, and figure out where North is, on your own, then you have done just about all that this little thing can do.

        A Great Learning Toy
I'm sure everyone remembers as a child looking up at the sky at night to find the Big Dipper, ect.. Well, that's something i'm sure that we all still do as Adults from time to time. This is a great toy for kids and Adults to find their constellations easier! A great learning toy for school project too! This would also be great to keep children busy during long car rides at night. A must have toy :-)

          LOVE THIS TOY!!!! HELPFUL HINTS.........
My 9 month old loves when I play peek-a-boy with her using this toy. We've had it for months and she has still not gotten tired of it. I cannot say enough about how cute it is!!! HINT: I have learned that it helps to rest your puppet arm and the cube on a surface while you are using it, then use your free hand to hold onto the back of the cube. This gives you good leverage to make the monkey, orange or banana come out of any of the 4 openings easily (suprise!) and pop right back inside. The child can't wait to see what comes out next!!!! So glad I bought this toy for good together time.

          Cute but...
It's a cute toy, but NOT worth the money. It takes some practice to work it. It's not really a toy for the Dads to use, their hands probably wouldn't fit (my husband's doesn't and he is average size).

          Whoozit Pull Musical

            Sharp Edges
I recieved this Whoozit Musical as a gift and I had to throw it away because of the sharp edges along the pull cord that scratched my daughter even if she just held it. I would recommend that before you buy it pull the cord to let it play and feel along the edges to check for sharp ends.

            Didn't use it much
It's cute, but I didn't think it played music long enough. It's not a toy for baby to play with, its much too hard to pull the handle, it seems to be designed to put in the nursery to play music to a sleeping or almost sleeping baby. The music didn't last half as long as I would like to lull my daughter to sleep.

            great for the car!
We have two different kinds of these for the car, and this is a 'must-have' for us. We tied it to the handle above the rear door. When my baby was small, she loved to look at the colours and shapes as it swayed with the car's movement. After buckling her in I would pull the star to play the music - a lovely rendition of 'twinkle, twinkle, little star'. At about 14 months, my baby was able to pull the star to play the music herself, and being fairly quiet, it is not at all bothering for the driver.

This might just be the key to pleasant car rides with your little one!

              Piece of crap
The headset does not fit right. i had 2 put it on upsidedown then i got it. then it makes your voice sound way different then it really does. this toy is not made 4 a 3 yr old! like a 3 year old can really read the words?

              Barbie not worth it's price
This machine lasted less than a day with our 5 year old twins. The head set wouldn't fit either them or me, the songs weren't anything that they knew, and the sound was horrible. It was a gift that has allready been returned to the store. The concept of a Barbie Karaoke machine is wonderful, just this product leaves alot to be desired.

              Great little toy
Great toy for the price! My daughter loves my cousins super expensive "real" karoake machine but I wanted something I could afford for her, but not a cheap "fake" one either. This is it. Has more than one tape, tons of songs and easy to operate! My 4 year old loves this toy! It also plays just regular cassettes. You can adjust the voice/music up and down and it even has a switch in the battery compartment that keeps the volume low no matter how high they turn it up that you need a screw driver to get to but I found it too quiet with this on. Would be nice for a car ride to turn down. Takes batteries but there is a slip for 5 dollars you can send in for the AC adapter. The only thing I don't get is the 2nd microphone is a headset and is kind of hard to figure out how to put on, even for adults. It tucks behind the ears instead of just going over the top of the head. But all in all it is a really great toy.

                Not so great!
My parent's bought this for my daughter for christmas. In the package it is pretty loud but when you took it out the packaging and pulled the tab it got so quiet that you can barely even hear it. Also about 3 weeks after she got this, the flip part on the phone broke right off!

No reviews found for this product.
                Absolutely ridiculous!
The fact that the volume is barely audible when you take it out of the package is so ridiculous!!!! Don't waste your time and money!

No reviews found for this product.
                Total false advertising!
I too bought this phone, and when I took the packaging off, the volume was barely audible! the instructions inside said that was not an error, that is how it is supposed to be. Well then maybe they shouldn't have it so the volume is so loud when it is in the packaging! Obviously, you need the volume up to sell the damn toy, why turn it down? My daughter rarely plays with this phone. I wouldn't recommend it, if not solely for the false advertising!

                  very disappointed
Santa brought this for my 8 month old son and by the time Christmas morning arrived the puppy no longer made a barking sound. Within 2 weeks the water-filled pouch had sprung a leak. My son enjoys the mirror and the velcro toys but it was definitely not worth the money that Santa spent. Please save your money!

                  this toy fizzled and leaked!
we received this as a gift. it appeared to be a wonderful toy, with lots of different parts, although it took up a lot of space.. well, our 6 month old - 1 year old daughter was never interested in playing with it, except that occasionally she would put the velcro shapes in her mouth. soon after, the water capsule which holds the plastic fish began leaking. i would never recommend or buy this toy for anyone.

Its nice, but not that nice!
I bought this for my son off of ebay, because I just couldn't see paying that much for it and I'm glad I did. He liked the mirror and the animals the most. When the "fish tank" was filled with water he liked how it felt, but it quickly sprang a leak. If you could velcro it to the floor, it might be better. As soon as he got to be about 3 months he would pick it up and get tangled in it. If you just give your child one part to play with at a time, it'll save you some worry. Its a nice idea, but as far as it growing with your child like they imply...I don't think so. We got more use and more fun out of his activity gym by Kids II, which I did spend the money on and IT WAS WORTH IT. Unless you've just got to have this for your child, I wouldn't recommend it.

Electric Guitar with Built In Amplifier & Speaker
                  Made by First Act Inc.
                  Age Group: 5 - 10 years
                    Amazon base price: $
                    List price: $89.99 (that's NaN% off!)
This lacquered child's guitar is a great first instrument for young enthusiasts, or kids who just want to jam with an adult. It embodies every feature professional electric guitars do; all parents need to supply are lessons. At 30 inches, it's not intimidating but inviting. Its just the right size for elementary school amateurs, but its small, smooth body (including a solid maple neck and fingerboard), real steel strings, and "vintage" coil make it sound and feel as real as a grownup's guitar. A headphone jack can be used for speakers, and the output jack next to it can be used for the amplifier. --Diane Beall

Excellent beginner electric guitar for the younger set
If you have an aspiring guitarist who is ages: 4-8 who likes to emulate the "big boys" then get this guitar for the following reasons:

                    1. My 4 year old thought it "looked cool"
                    2. Has the amp and speaker built-in which makes it portable.
                    3. Is made by First Act which has proven to be reliable for my family of a 6 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy (we have had their acoustic guitar for a couple of years)

The educational value is what you make of it....right now, my son who has only had his electic guitar for a total of 2 weeks has begged me to bring it to school for sharing (I finally relented after checking it with the teacher) and has been pestering me for lessons. It's the lessons which make it educational - the guitar by itself is not educational, per se.

                    Have fun!

This is so cool. The best part is that you do not need a Amp because it comes with it.Kids can learn how to play music. It does make alot of noise (it depends how high the volume is)it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Surf Frogs: Live Frog Habitat
                    Made by Uncle Milton
                    Age Group: 8 - 12 years
                      Amazon base price: $
From the people who brought you the first ant farm, this is the coolest, froggiest scene around. Underneath a clear plastic, multilevel dome, "Croaky's Surf Shop"--complete with a palm tree, surfboard, beach umbrella, cooler, and blanket--is a beach frog's paradise. Kids need only supply the frogs and, thanks to a coupon included in the kit, they can go out and get tadpoles to grow their own. Place the tadpoles into "surf schools" (small plastic containers) until they can ride the waves on their own personal surfboards. Parents don't need to worry, because everything from tadpole food to an illustrated manual is included in this clean, chemical-free kit. --Courtney Hudak

                      Really stinks
My frog loving kids got this for Christmas last year. The tadpoles nevery turned to frogs. I had to clean the tank and the kids lost total interest after about 6 months still no legs or any changes. I ended up having to buy more food from the pet store. We never got to use th frog habitat either. Don't buy this one.

                      Surf Frogs
I got Surf Frogs for my daughter. The tadpoles came within 3-4 weeks. One of the tadpole's is getting larger then the other and has already developed legs. We have been taking them to her 4 yr old pre-school and the children love it. I would highly encourage a parent to get this for their child. Very educational. I wanted to get another set but they are unavailabe. The habitat is being occupied by a "Newt" at the present time and he loves the little pool. It great to keep other little creatures in too and enjoyable to watch them.
