That marvelous mademoiselle with the magnetic personality--the star of books and her own movie--is presented here in a playset with 19 flat magnetic pieces and a folding, reversible diorama. Madeline is 5 inches tall and dressed in her undies (with that famous appendix scar just peeking out). She comes with an assortment of magnetic clothing (dresses, hats, a coat, and pajamas) and accessories, such as schoolbooks and an umbrella. Her dog, Genevieve, is included to accompany Madeline on adventures around Paris (or maybe just across the refrigerator door, as the magnets work on that surface, too). One side of the diorama shows Madeline's room in the hospital; the other shows the old house in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. What a life saver this toy was!!I bought this for my just turned three year old girl. The two of us took a 10 hour car drive with this as a brand new car toy. She spent 8 of 10 hours playing with it on the drive down. She played with it some everyday during a confernece I was attending with her in tow. She spent 6 of 10 hours playing with it on the way home a week later. She would have played with it longer had the daylight lasted longer. It saved our sanity!!
My only complaint is the magnetic pieces were easy to tear when punching them out of their original magnetic sheet. Take care and this shouldn't be a problem.

Many Hours of Play for $...My children (1 1/2 and 3 1/2) both love playing with Create-a-Scene sets. We have 3 of them (farm, zoo and ocean) and they have enjoyed them for hours. They are great for travel and taking on visits to Grandma. We had other, less sturdy versions of these toys (like Colorforms) and ended up throwing them out. Eventually (after much use), even these sets come apart at the seam, and the pieces no longer adhere well to the boards, but $... for a year's worth of play is a good value.

Durable, Fun, Creative Toy!My four-year old niece loves this toy! It consists of a castle background (that contains a handsome prince!), two magnetic dolls, and various charming outfits. I had to punch out the outfits from the backing for her, but after that she was off and running. Each outfit (hats, boots, dresses) is that of a type of princess, from a fairy princess to an American Indian princess to a snow princess. Several outfits look like they belong to characters young girls are familiar with: Snow White, Jasmine from Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland. These are wonderful for young girls because they are colorful, durable, and stimulate creative activities like story telling. They are heavy weight, and so resist tearing and can be washed.
Best of all, all the pieces are magnetic so they stay together without getting lost and can be applied either to the supplied background or to any metallic surface. They immediately found a home on the refrigerator. My niece plays with them on the refrigerator door while Grandma cooks dinner in the kitchen.

It looks like a rectangular lunch box made of yellow nylon cloth, but rip open the sturdy Velcro fastener and this cleverly designed art pack rolls out flat and becomes four zippable, see-through compartments for 50 felt-tipped pens. The first two compartments contain 28 simple stick pens in colors that cover the basics, but also include pink, gray, and several different shades each of purple, brown, and orange. The third compartment has eight stubbier, thicker markers. Best of all, the fourth compartment has a dozen "brush tip" pens so flexible they can make a line vary from very fine to almost a quarter-inch thick. A lot of color for your money. --Richard Farr

Won't Wash off!My daughter received this as a gift for her 3rd birthday. She loves it. There are thick markers and think markers. The variety is endless. However, the ink will not wash off of clothes. Be warned. I would love to find a similar set that is washable.

The coolest product.I love this kit. We got it so we could make a gift to give to all the relatives (even though you can start your calendar with any month, we're giving it as hoiday gifts). My kids drew pictures, we added photos, stickers, poems. We included everyone's birthday, anniversary etc. My one son even wanted his report card added to one month! It's not like some of those other calendars you get where you just slip a picture in a folder. This is a real printed up calendar that's bound together. The quality was excellent. We'll do this again.

Great gift ideaMy daughter and I bought this kit for our 5 year old to make as a gift.
It comes with everything that you need to make a plate mug or cup. You draw your picture on the paper, send it back in and they make a plate out of your art work!

Another great felt boardThis range of Felt boards are fantastic. Once you have one, you can mix and match all your felt sets or even use your felt pieces on a felt easel if you have one.
The Felt boards are good quality and stiff - perfect for using on the floor, lap or even in the car.
The Felt pieces are made of good quality felt - depending on the piece some have been printed on and others left plain and they can be overlapped and moved about as much as your imagination allows. It's a wonderful tool to get your child to tell you a story about the picture they made.
What I like about them is each set comes with a special carry bag made of plastic. The felt pieces can be stored in side - zipped locked with a easy to use slide lock and then clipped onto the handle of the felt board. This is perfect to carry around the house or even to Grandma's or to keep your little one busy in the car or while waiting for food at a restaurant.

not a (real) kid!i am an artist; i make a lot of greeting cards. i have found blo-pens to be a lot of fun and i have been very creative with them. i found that i do better when i use my own stencils, and i have experimented a lot with the pens. my frustration is not being able to find just the pens, except for the "bold" colors, which i do not need. and i don't like the color change pens (the colors are blah, as far as i'm concerned). would love to know how to find an assortment of pens.

BloPens RockI loved playing with BlowPens. I used to hate arts and crafts. But when I got BlowPens, I had the best time of my life! Now my sister's an artist!
