Lots of fun for our whole family

Weird... fun for a few minutes but that's about all.My daughter received this as a gift... Looks REALLY neat on the box. It's really wierd, which is sort of good but you can't really do much with it. The container included in which you put water and add the 'sand' is too small- once their hands are in it they can't really see what they are doing. Might be neat in an aquarium type container but limited fun.. Once they feel it for a few minutes and marvel at it- they were pretty much done with it. I found it easy to get back in the bottle with the funnel but I doubt my kids will ever even ask to get this back out- Can't recommend it.

It is okayThis toy is ok but, It is messy & you can not put the sand back into the bottle when you are done. It is fun but hard. It is very messy. Do not buy this product!!!!!!!

Bonz Velociraptor (Large)
Made by BC Bones
Age Group: 8 - 12 years
Amazon base price: $99.99
Popularized by its frightening appearances in the Jurassic Park films, the Velociraptor was one of the most aggressive predators that roamed the earth 140 million years ago. You can create a scale replica of this prehistoric carnivore's skeleton by assembling the 62 pieces is this 3-D wooden puzzle kit. The interlocking pieces in this kit are made from premium Baltic birch and require no glue or hardware to assemble. Requiring patience and careful attention to detail, the puzzle kit is an excellent exercise in spatial reasoning and shape recognition. Although younger children may require the assistance of an adult to assemble the kit, the rewards are great as you watch a pile of scattered bones being transformed into an impressive model of a Velociraptor skeleton. Although a wooden rock hammer and sandpaper have been included to aid in the assembly process, you may pick up a few splinters while putting this kit together if you're not careful. Once the puzzle is assembled, you can leave it standing as a display piece, or disassemble it for future use. An educational dinosaur booklet and scientific fact file have been included, along with assembly instructions and an excavation site map. The assembled puzzle measures 42 inches tall by 69 inches long. --Chris Burns

Pieces Don't Fit TogetherI bought the small version for my nephew, and spent a whole afternoon filing away at the notches in each piece (which were way too tight) so that they could fit together as they should. I had to buy a metal file to do so because the sandpaper included in the set wasn't heavy-duty enough, and even with the metal file, I had to spend so much time making each notch larger that we could only assemble a third of the dinosaur during a two hour session.
Sam's ReviewThis is a very educational product. Even some adults like it.I think this is a great product that kids can use and learn alot from it. Kids who are interested in dinosaurs can use this and they will learn and have fun at the same time.

Jungala Playset

Most played with toy in our houseI bought this for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas last year and she loves it. My 4 year old also has a great time playing with it. They have another Ello set and they combine the 2 sets for even more people and animals. This toy keeps them entertained for a long time. I have recommended it to a lot of people.
Pieces slip apartMy 5 yr old was very excited and persistent about putting the pieces together according to the picture. This wasn't easy, and when I tried to help her, I found that the pieces for putting together the animals, were not molded to fit together, but are shaped in such a way that they can't grip each other. So we could get the animals put together a few seconds, and then the pieces would slip apart.
We did not find this to be true with the non-jungle related parts, such as the blocks which snap on to the rectangular pieces. However I was very disappointed with this product overall, and will probably try to bring it back.

Bought 4 and need more!!!I run a pre-school, and I've already bought 4 of these cases. The girls can't get enough. This activity keeps them engaged, stimulated and makes them use their creative sides. I will probably end up buying more very soon.

BEST BUY for MY PRINCESSMy neice is obsessed with all of the Disney Princess characters, and she is also very interested in art, drawing, coloring. This purchase was a no-brainer. She loves it, and now insists on rolling the case everywhere--day care, church, even the grocery store. I am now the favorite Aunt. All parties are pleased. I would recommend this toy to anyone.

NEVER GET IT!!!!!!! It only........ALL IT DOES IS SHOW CHILDREN HOW TO HURT THEIR FINGERS!. I gave this art kit to my daughter after she seen it at the toy store. The day we got it I heard a really loud scream... My daughter was sitting on her floor screamming as she was tring to get her fingers out of it! We had to bring her to the urgent care for children and had to get 4 stiches on her finger.

Super Stationery Scratch-Art Kit
Made by Scratch Art Co.
Age Group: 5 years and up
Amazon base price: $14.99
Stationery will never be its plain, boring old self again when children begin writing on the special paper in this Super Stationery Scratch-Art Kit. The kit includes 25 sheets of black note paper and 25 brightly colored envelopes. When the paper is scratched by the set's wooden drawing sticks, bright colors are revealed in startling contrast to the black paper. Five sheets reveal gold, 5 reveal silver, 5 reveal fluorescent, and 10 reveal multiple colors. Surprisingly beautiful designs and writing can be made by even the most untrained hand. The kit also has a set of stencils, so young artists can trace their favorite designs onto notes. Instructions are clear and to the point. This kit will transform writing thank-you notes or invitations from a chore to a creative and enjoyable activity for children. --Lee Strucker

better for the under 10 crowdI recall enjoying this project as a child in school. My sister gave this item to my daughter for her birthday last week. She loved it. It is a bit different from the cheapos at the dollar tree (refer to last review). This comes with a variety of colorful envelopes, that the paper actually fits into when folded. The scratch off paper comes in different colors (beneath the black scratch off stuff too). There is gold, silver, flourescent, and rainbow. My Daughter just loved picking thru the colors and selecting a particular one for her creation. She also used the simple stencils that came with it. It was easy for her to use, it was a "blank canvas" for her to be creative, and we mailed the suckers away when she was done with them (so they aren't cluttering up my house :). She enjoyed sending mail to her friends, and there is a social studies aspect to these, and the educational value of learning how to address and send a letter. Also, fine motor skills and creativity.

The truth of scratch artThis toy is non-educational and most kids find it boring. When my art teacher brings out the scratch art all the kids groan.
Go to the Dollar Tree and buy it cheap if you really want it!

Great Gift for Year after YearMy daughter received a scratch art kit last year and she truly enjoyed it. Although it has no real "educational" value it allows any level of "artist" the flexibility to be creative. Even just a simple line or doodle looks majical after making the mark. I am again buying a kit for my daughter's birthday and an extra to save as a birthday gift to have on hand for the next birthday party we're invited too! You will NOT be dissappointed.

Crayons To Go (100 pack)
Made by Alex
Age Group: 36 months - 8 years
Amazon base price: $11.99
Crayons to Go is a satisfyingly chunky home for 100 chunky crayons. It is essentially four pyramid-shaped crayon cases that roll up neatly into a single fat 5-inch cube. The outer pack is green-hemmed blue nylon (with a yellow nylon carrying handle). Inside, the four pyramids are yellow-hemmed transparent showcases, each with its own blue end zipper. Once rolled together, they all close with a Velcro fastener--or you can use a small loop to hang the case from a hook. --Richard Farr

CrayonsCrayola Crayons are not worth a penny. I paid 100 dollars for a bulk set of crayons of ONE color, and they didnt even send it! I ordered this about 2 weeks ago, and they didnt even have crayons in it. What a rip-off. My child was disappointed with this product.

"Chunky Crayons" aren't chunky...Although not in the item description, the Editorial review states: "Crayons to Go is a satisfyingly chunky home for 100 chunky crayons."
Be aware that these crayons ARE NOT chunky crayons, just the regular kind. My daughter breaks them immediately because they are thin. For an older child expecting regular crayons, this is a great pack. For a younger child wanting chunky crayons, look elsewhere.

Missing items!I was very disappointed when I received this item. The picture in the ad showed and stated that certain items were included. This was not so. The missing items are as follows; Lined tablet, received only 6 pieces of chalk, mini markers and 3 packages of modeling clay. I am sorry I did not read into the comments before ordering this item as I certainly feel I did not get my money's worth. I feel that I sure be reimbursed for an incomplete order. I hope the next customer is more attentive than I was and read the customer comments.

Doesn't keep it togetherI too purchased this product to keep my daughter's art supplies organized, wrong! Ditto what everyone said about everything falling out when you open/close case. My daughter freaks out becuse her crayons have to be organized by the color spectrum each time we open it...bummer. Ditto the way cheap scissors.

Don't be fooled by the Crayola nameI bought this for my 4 year old daughter after a similar set she got as a birthday present was left in the car and the crayons melted all over everything. Knowing Crayola as a good brand, I thought this would be a great replacement. What a disappointment! The crayons, markers, pencils and paints are all good quality, but the case itself is a piece of junk. None of the items that are stored in the case stay in place so everytime we open the case everything falls out which defeats the purpose of the case. I just wish I kept the name of the other set because it was so much better than this!

Great for Toddlers! We got these paints for my almost 3 year old son for Christmas. We have had no issues with caps breaking. They are great for a no mess, quick art job while mom is getting dinner or tending to the younger sibling. The "paintbrushes" are nice and chunky - great for small toddler hands to manipulate - yet they still get the affect of painting because of the brushes. There are also no cups of water to spill as with other watercolors. We have got these paints on countertops and clothes, but they are easily washable. Great product for the price, in fact, I am buying another set to send to my babysitter's house.

Junky paints!Paint containers are made of cheap plastic and crack easily. More testing needed to be done before this product was marketed. My kids liked them, but they broke the first time we used them.

disappointed grandma and granddaughterI bought these paints and all but two of the caps were broken or cracked where the brushes are attached. I received a replacement set Christmas Eve and my husband quickly wrapped them up to give our granddaughter. When they were opened, I was very disappointed and angry to see that, once again, all but one of the caps were broken. This product is a great concept, but is very poor quality. A real disappointment twice over.

Missing piecesI am very disappointed with this product. The amazing art duffle bag came in almost empty. Promised bags of modeling clay, stamping markers, stickers and the activity booklet was nowhere to be found. Then I started reading the other reviews about this product and sadly realized that I was not the only one... I can't believe Crayola continues to ship the product half empty. It is about time that someone takes an action...

Do Not BuyThis seems like a "Bait & Switch" ... The picture shown, as well as the written decription, portrays a fun filled (and I do mean FILLED) bag of art supplies, when it is actually filled with mostly air. The missing supplies included three packages of modeling clay, 10 washable mini stamp markers, the activity booklet, of the 15 sticks of sidewalk chalk promised - it came with only 6. There were no washable markers - there are 10 non-washable markers.
This is an extremely disappointing purchase.

Not so amazing art duffle bagIt would appear from the picture of the "amazing art duffle bag" that it is chock full of fun art supplies. This is not the case. The bag consist of a pack of 8 fat markers, a pack of 8 skinny markers, a box of 16 crayons, a 6 pack of fat chalk, and a thin writing pad. You could easily buy the items strategically placed on the outside of this bag for about $9.00- The entire middle portion of the bag is empty! There is nothing amazing about the art duffle bag except the nerve of Crayola to mislead people. Save your money!

Fun! Fun! Fun!I purchased this for my 9 year old grandson's birthday, and he loved it more than most of his other gifts. He comes over to my home some weekends, and brings it along in the bucket that the clay comes in. The only problem is that his sister wants to play too, so I am online to purchase another one. I recommend this for any child.

Keeps them busy!I love this product! I purchased it for my 5 and 8 year olds, and it is a great way to keep them out of my hair while I get housework done. Highly recommended! The best part is that when they are done, everything can be thrown right into the bucket - easy clean up.

Too DifficultThe clay in this set is so incredibly hard to work with. My kids were very frustrated. The clay does not soften. The cookie cutters and molds with the set are great and we use them with Play Doh or Crayola modeling clay. I do not recommend spending your money on this at all.
Water acts like mercury when it comes in contact with the sand. It really got us thinking, and talking.
I'll buy it for other kids too!
