Can't do without!Affectionately referred to as "baby" by my two-year old daughter, this is her security item. I am ordering two more for times when the one is in the wash or left at granny and papa's house. It is very durable and fares well in the washer and dryer. The softest and cuddliest baby we have found yet.

Baby Girl Loves itFrom 6-months to 15-months, my daughter loves this doll so much she doesn't want to go to sleep without it. It comes with us everywhere. I had to buy a second to keep a clean one handy at all times. I just throw it in the washer on warm/cold or hot/cold and wa-la ... a clean 'Dolly' that withstands the high temperatures.

Doesn't hold attentionMy twins got this when they were 18 months and loved it the first day then got bored. They are 2 now and still won't sit and play with it. I'll try it again in a few months to see if it will hold their attention and help with their ABC's.

Boring toyMy 2 year old daughter played with this toy exactly 5 minutes and has not picked it up since. It was a Christmas gift and I almost returned it and I wish I had. She would much rather use her imagination or sing the alphabet than use this. It has no learning value except repetition.

Pure Entertainment! My son got this as a gift and started playing with it at 7 months. He LOVED the music buttons and would be on his hands and knees rocking to the music. I honestly don't know of any other toy that entertains him for that long. He loves to play with the other sides as well, and now that he is 11 months old he seems to understand more of it. I highly recommend it.

Still loving it!I got this toy when my son was about nine months old- and he instantly loved the music buttons. Now he's 27 months, and still loves the music buttons. The blocks are now lost, and he never figures out some of teh stuff on it, but he run right over every morning and hits a music button!
A toy that "grows" with the kid!I bought this toy for my daughter when she was about 9 or 10 months old. She LOVED it because it played music and animal sounds, the phone was the PERFECT size for her little hands (unlike MANY phones sold as toys for her age group) and she liked gummimg the shape-sorter pieces (safely-sized to prevent choking and rounded corners to prevent scratches). Now that she is 14-1/2 mos. old, she can twirl the gears, move the clock hands and even has some success with the shape sorter side as well, but the phone and music are still her favorites! When she is a little older, we will use the clock to help tell time too. The ONLY down side is the button for the pop-up bear is difficult to push.

Little Leap
Made by LeapFrog
Age Group: 24 months - 5 years

Ribbit! This huggable froggie is one great learning tool--teaching toddlers and preschoolers the alphabet, phonics, numbers, colors, and vocabulary. When kids press the letters on his tummy or other buttons on his webbed fingers, he'll say the selection aloud. Little ones can also follow along in his 26-page alphabet storybook. Read and Sing Little Leap engages kids with tunes like the ABC's and an interactive phonics song, as well as four learning activities. Although this little guy is never too taxing on the eardrums, the volume control and auto shutoff are wonderful features that allow kids to take their smart friend with them into dreamland (and ensures longer battery life). The frog requires three batteries, which are included. --Melissa Wilson

My 1 year old even loves itMy daughter got this for her first birthday from a famiy memeber, I thought well she is a bit young but now at 16 months, she loves it! I like the fact that it is educational, not just making noises, She is learning so much right now at this stage I am glad that there are toys like these to entertain yet teach and she loves it~what more can you want! I can see this being a toy she loves still for awhile to come!

Great toy!My daughter received this for Christmas at the age of 17 months. At 20 months, she can say most of the alphabet, and those letters she can not say, she substituts the sound. Leapfrog is wonderful!

the toy wears outI have purchased this frog twice, and one time someone gave my son this toy, and out of the three we've had (in two years), none of them work. The computer chip seems to mess up and say some of the letters at the wrong time (or that is my experience, anyway). Other than that, it's fun while it lasts, but when it starts teaching my son to say "P" instead of "H", that isn't good.

Infants and toddlers will have fun getting their hands inside this friendly-faced cookie jar. As soon as the toy was removed from the box, our 9-month-old tester was intrigued. He grabbed onto the three-dimensional shapes (or "cookies") sized perfectly for little hands to hold. After tossing and rolling the shapes across the floor, he sat down to check out the cookie jar. He learned to put the shapes inside and outside of the jar opening, which triggered the hidden sensor to play the tune "Muffin Man." When he gets older he'll be able to practice sorting the shapes into their designated slots on the side of the cookie jar. Parents will appreciate the adjustable volume control and how easily the shapes store inside of the jar. Three AA batteries are included. --Lauren Bernard

great toyThis is a good toy for learning shapes, color recognition, and fine motor skills. My boys are 2 1/2 and still play with this one.

Lots of use from this toyWe bought this toy for our son when he was only 5 months old knowing he wouldn't be quite ready to sort the shapes yet. As soon as he learned to sit up, he really enjoyed putting the shapes (and other toys!) in and out of the jar. Something that is a learning process for infants. He is now 15 months and STILL plays with this cookie jar! It is extremely durable. As I read in another review the womans voice is a bit "non-child-like" and our friends had also joked about how she talks! I would still rate this toy highly based on the fact that it seems to be one of the toys our son has gotten the most use out of.
Cassie's Returning FavoriteMy youngest daughter, who will be 2 in December, received this last Christmas. She plays with it every day.It has 3 settings,1 for counting,1 for shapes and one for no noise at all.It has a female voice which seems to appeal to babies and toddlers. They can put the blocks in through shape sorters on the side,or like cookies into a jar from the top.It makes different comments depending on which opening the block goes through. She already knows the names and recognizes the shapes of circle, square, triangle, star and heart. Each shape is a different color and has a different number on it.She's presently learning those.Very inventive toy at a very reasonable price.

affordable fun - a must have baby basicI've spent a whole lot more on toys that didn't go over half as well as this one. There are a lot of mirrors out there but my daughter (now 7 months old) has enjoyed this one for 5 months because of some of the extras. It has a little gummy ring she loves to chew on and some other toys that spin and rattle.
This toy made tummy time bearable. It can tie to a crib or stand by itself (although a little precariously - ok tho, it's light). We took it everywhere for a couple of months.

If anything happened to this mirror, we'd replace it in a heartbeat. It's withstood the test of time.
Best baby mirror out there!I kept wanting to buy a mirror for the baby's crib for a couple of months but every one I found seemed to give you a very warped reflection. But then I found this one made by Sassy. With it's bright colors and many textures, I knew it would be perfect for my curious daughter. And I was right!! She loved it as soon as I showed it to her. It stays on one end of her crib and I even take it out and stand it in the ground when she's lying on her stomach. It doesn't have to be attached to anything to stand up.
I love walking in the room and finding her smiling at herself in the mirror! She just loves the little ring and the squiggly pieces of material on the side. I now buy this mirror for every baby shower I go to.I give it 5 stars!
Great for growing babiesWe've had this mirror since our baby was 1 month old. We placed it in his pack-n-play bassinet when he was little. Then we would unfold it and let him play with it on the floor for tummy time. Now that he's 8 months old it's hanging from his crib and he loves to look in the mirror when he wakes up and sits and plays. He loves the textures and colors.

Baby Tap-a-Tune Piano
Made by Little Tikes
Age Group: 6 months - 2 years
Amazon base price: $13.99
Designed for very young children, this is a charming piano with four large, easy-to-depress square keys in green, blue, red, and orange. When the keys are played, the metal xylophone-style strips on top of the piano produce sweet chiming sounds. This little piano will enchant your child, teach basic colors, and demonstrate a few fundamentals of music. Surprisingly, the notes are delightful even when played all at once--a unique quality in a toy piano. --Sandy Hirsch

Star them out early ...My daughter loves this toy. I got it for her because she loves to pound on things ... the keys are so easy to hit & she loves that she can do it herself. Higly recommend this toy.

Great Starter PianoGood size for little learning hands. Sure there are others out there but it is exciting to see your little one use this piano independently.

Daycare Durable!Smarter Toddler Daycare in NYC has a great music program so they have a couple of these pianos and I have seen my daughter and her toddler classmates really rough them up. This is an incredibly durable starter piano and it is easy for little fingers to press.

Great for a sitting babyWhen I first read the reviews for this before buying it there were a lot that said that a downside was that it was too heavy for the baby to really manipulate, but I bought it anyway because I really liked it and because it was on sale. For the first few months we had it my son really wasn't interested because he couldn't play with it on his stomach or back, but when he turned 5 months and learned to sit it quickly became one of his favorite toys. He plays with it everday for 10-15 minutes at a time, a long time compared to his other toys, and hasn't shown any signs of tiring. The music is wonderful and the colors are bright and attractive. The heavy weight of the toy, I have found, is actually a plus because it helps it to stay sun side up while he is playing with it. I would highly recommend this toy, but just wait until they are sitting and can really play with it

Great for babies and toddlersMy daughter loves this toy and so do we! We also enjoyed the fact that it played music from Peter and the Wolf. This is a great toy that I would definitely recommend!!!!!
Excited to purchaseI was excited to purchase this item because the reviews are so high, it's the newest "in" baby toy today, and Neurosmith is well respected. My baby does like this toy, the music is pleasant and has a great sound quality and the toy is soft and bright and easy for my baby to hold. However, my baby likes just as well a Fisher price stuffed puppy that plays the alphabet song and was less than 20 dollars. If your baby likes music, this is a great toy, but so are half a dozen cheaper musical toys that are made by equally respectable companies like Fischer Price or Leapfrog. It's a nice toy, but is it worth paying double what similar items cost? I'll have to wait and see--for now my baby loves the alphabet song just as much or more than he loves classical music....Even classical music can become grating to a parent if you hear the same selection play over and over.

INSTANT PUPPY-LOVE is a SURE THING with this toy. This toys is truly a SURE THING!!! This will be your baby's first love. I bought this for my little nephew in December when he turned 3 months old. He must have this toy with him everywhere. Though he has many other colorful toys that make noises and play tunes and have mirrors ... none compares with Puppytunes. I even got him Hokey Pokey Elmo - which he also loves ... but he is attached to Puppytunes. It's so cute to watch him play with this. I actually chose this toy based on other Amazon customer reviews. Those comments turned out to be true!!! This toy is a "SURE THING."
Stops my baby from crying! From 3 months on, whenever my son is fussy and I know he's been fed and changed, I always reach for the PuppyTunes. He loves looking at the bright colors and when he hears the notes, he just stops crying. It's a great distraction! At 6 months, he's still too young to press the paws himself to make music, but when he hears the notes, it just grabs his attention. This toy will keep him entertained for a long time.

Great for bedtime...but hard on batteriesI love this toy. My husband and I have been using this in my son's crib since he was a few weeks old. He's one of those kids that has to wind-down in his crib and the Dreamscapes soother does a great job at it. Even at 11 months now he still enjoys it, and after having figured out how to turn it on and off can watch it at his leisure. My only complaint about it is that it seems to eat through a lot of C batteries, but then I guess that is the price to pay for a soothed baby.

Great Toy for a newborn babyI purchased this toy for my new grandson when he was 3 weeks old. It was my first toy purchase for him because I know how newborn babies try to focus so hard in their first month. He loves it! It is very soothing and puts him to sleep. The music is excellent and so are the graphics. The only drawback is that they go thru batteries very quickly, so we bought a battery recharger!
Very happy with it!...And so is my 6 week old! It really does soothe! I was very impressed with how well it works when my baby wakes up in the middle of the night and I need to change his diaper or feed him and put him back down to sleep. I press the play button and immediately his head turns to the light and he listens to the story, music, poem, etc. Now, when he hears it playing in the middle of the day, he calms down and listens. I absolutely recommend this toy. I shouldn't really call it a toy, but a lifesaver! It allows my husband and I to get the sleep we need! There is only two downfalls to this product and that is how much of a battery-eater it is. You can go through a set of batteries in about 2 weeks and then you have to go out and buy another set. Also, it should have a remote control, so that when it turns off by itself and baby is still intently watching, he doesn't cry when it shuts off on him. But overall, it is WELL worth the money! I love it!
