Some parents may not care about this, but another thing I *love* about this toy is that it's completely gender-neutral. No stupid stereotypes about what a kid should or shouldn't like. And his friends (boys and girls alike) like to play with his blocks with him.
I guess it would be nice if they were Duplo and connected with the Legos he'll undoubtedly move on to, but we're putting the price difference in his college fund :). This is easily the best value for the money or any toy for this age that I've seen.

This cow is a hit! Here's a tip though - if you have a dog, watch the cow closely. The bell on the cow's neck proved irresistable to our dog and he chewed it off one afternoon while we were out and mauled poor cow till it was limp. My fault for not putting it up! LOL! Needless to say, I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of cow #2, as is my searching little boy! :)
wonderful toy
Holy Cow!

Our baby loves to hug Baby Elmo!
She loves him!
We love ElmoOur baby Elmo has on a onesie that is sewn on. He also has a small blanket attached to his hand and an ID bracelet. He cries, talks, and moves his legs when you push his stomach or squeeze his hand. When you put his bottle in his mouth he makes the slurping noises and sometimes burps. We haven't had to change his batteries yet.
The only minor things I don't like are that his clothes are "attached" and the attached blanket is really too small to be of any use for Elmo (maybe it's a diaper/burp cloth?).

Great plush toy to grow with your child!

Click the top of her bow to turn her on as soon as you take her out of her package, she's all set and ready to go! There's instructions on how to work Jasmine on the back, too. Clap your hands four times and she sings and dances. Clap your hands five times and she will recite the tune of ABC, or Twinkle, Twinkle. (Those songs have the same toon)
My little sister loves Jasmine, and sadly, she didn't get a My Little Baby. Fortunately, my grandmother gave my little sister and I fifty dollars each, and my sister says she wants to buy her own My Little Baby. I suggested Jordan, since it even says on the package that Jordan and Jasmine are twins! They can also communicate with each other. Jasmine communicates with my Micropet, too, since they are both made by Tomy, both are the same size, and basically do the same thing.
My Little Babies probably won't hold your attention for a long time, they basically do simple things, tip them on their backs, they'll recite the tune of Lullaby, shut their eyes, and fall asleep. If you ignore them for more than a few minutes, they'll start crying. If you want your My Little Baby to start crying, rock the baby in the palm of your hand, and they will be giggling in no time. Place the tiny bottle, (careful not to loose it, it's quite small) into the baby's mouth, and they will make an odd sound, which is the baby sucking the bottle. When the baby has had enough of the bottle, it will give a satisfied "Ahhh!" Talk to the baby soothingly and it will giggle.
I hope this review gave you a clear, basic idea of what you are getting for $9.99 when you decide to buy yourself, or somebody else a My Little Baby. Enjoy!...

Great learning toy
Excellent play value and educational too!

My biggest complaint however it that the beads are made of wood and unfortunately were not sanded down very well on the inside. Therefore, when my sweet daughter tries to string the beads, the strings get "hung up" inside the bead. Sometimes, the wood is so rough inside the bead that I even have a hard time getting the string to go through at all!
I am very disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and poor quality from Melissa and Doug. This toy cannot be used for its intended purpose, which is letting my daughter use her fine motor skills. Instead, Mommy has to string them for her and she enjoys pulling them out. Not quite the activity I had in mind when I purchased this item and not what the toy is intended for.
I did not give this toy the absoute lowest rating because my daughter loves to wear the necklaces that I make for her with the string and beads. So in that regard it has not been a total loss. However this problem could be easily rememdied if the company would wax the string, or simply sand down the holes.
I would not buy this product knowing what I know now. I would look for another set of lacing beads.
All around, an excellent toy.
