Toddlers get a tactile treat with this wooden, four-piece pet menagerie puzzle. The cheery gray tabby cat, orange dog, and white rabbit all come with soft patches of fur on their backs. (Unfortunately, the wooden parrot piece was left out of the sensory fun--it comes with no feathers.) The challenge is for children to first match the pieces with the picture in the slots and then fit them in correctly. The puzzle shapes don't sink all the way into their slots, and instead stay slightly raised, so they are easy for little hands to grasp and lift. The careful handcrafting is evidenced in the brightly painted pictures and cleanly sanded edges. --Hannah Reynolds
