    Excellente!
this game offers a refreshingly bloody experince in the world of Orbis where you fight for the control of the dyieng empire. Fight dozens of generals that actually look for weakpoints and exploit them. Fight with huge armies of men, zombies and gigantic beasts and demons. Every single opponent has his own religion, history and tactics. This game is a little bit like Medival Total War, but more fantasy enriched

      Awesome Sound!
Using the Advanced AV Adapter with a fiber optic cable gives you true dolby 5.1 sound (assuming you have a surround sound system). It is absolutely amazing! I've tested Halo and PGR2 with the new setup and it adds a new whole dimension to both games. I highly recommend this adapter. Using the S-video connection will also improve your picture quality: unfortunately it does not have component connections (red, blue, green) for the very best video quality.

Beat GTA3 bring on Vice City!!
Beat gta3 and it only took my forever! I really can't say how many hours I have put into this fabulous game, but I was definitely surprised on how many missions there are. I kept saying to myself "I've got to be getting close", but it just kept going. It amazed me that not only was there a lot of missions, but the missions were really well thought out and took quite a bit of unique strategy. It's possible for two different people to take on different methods for beating the same mission. After you beat the game you are still able to play, meaning you can save the game after you win and there will be no more missions for you to go on (your just left to have fun in the city). The music to this game is great. I've hooked up my minidisc player to the stereo and recorded some of the songs by chillin in a car with the radio on. Also when you beat the game and the credits role they play you a pretty good techno song as well. Now I just have to convert these nice sounds into mp3.

Couple things I have noticed that you may have not. There is a car out there that has hydraulics you can trigger by pressing L3 button or R3 (can't remember which). Second, one of the radio dj's name is DJ Michael Hunt. Why is that funny? Think about when Bart Simpson prank call's Moe's tavern.

Can't wait until Vice City hits!!![.]
Grand Theft Auto has been a favorite series for many gamers, not only because of the quality of the series, but because of the game's shocking over-the-top violence. Being an extremely gruesome game for its time, the original Grand Theft Auto was ridiculed by politicians and parents alike as being violent and inhumane. But this didn't stop Take 2 Interactive. The controversial remarks only added to the series' success as the first two original games have sold well over expected sales. (Remember, any publicity is good publicity.) The series' third outing builds on to the formula which made its predecessors so popular and throws it all into a 3D world. The top down view is replaced by a more traditional 3rd person view and the graphics have been greatly improved and made to look more 'real' than the past two titles. Furthermore the game is much more storyline-based and the missions have become center-stage rather than just something extra to do if you have time. The GTA series has truly evolved. The game begins with an opening cinema showing you and your girlfriend in the middle of a bank robbery. But it's a set-up. Your girlfriend pops a shot into you and runs off with the money as you're lying on the ground with a gun in your hand. The cops come soon after and throw you in the back of their van ready to haul you off to jail. As the van is en route something happens but I'll let you find out what that something is for yourself. After the 'something' happens you find yourself at Luigi's, the first person that will give you some things to do in your new life. The opening mission involves picking up a girl and taking her back to Luigi's. The real beauty of this game is that this can be done in so many ways. You could steal a taxi and go straight to picking her up or you could carjack a Banshee and cruise around a bit before meeting up with her. After you complete your objectives whatever they may be you are given another mission. Although Rockstar has made the missions more of a priority, you are allowed to do whatever you please in between missions so the game never gets stale. It's amazing how huge the game world is. Liberty City actually feels like a living breathing place. Hundreds of people crowd the sidewalks and dozens of cars stop at red lights and turn at intersections. The best part is that you can interact with all of it. Want to blow up a car at the corner of 5th street and 2nd? Go ahead. Want to attack some old ladies walking in front of a payphone in Chinatown? Fine. Keep in mind that this means this game is not for children. You can run over innocent pedestrians walking down the street, ram a semi-truck into the back of a station wagon until it blows up, or walk down the street pumping out shotgun shells and never really get penalized. Yes, you will be attacked by the police if something like this happens, but this, more often than not, just results in more bloodshed. If the words "Grand Theft Auto" create a picture in your mind of someone doing something that benefits society than you need your head checked. The visuals in this game are absolutely superb. Everything has somewhat of a cartoon feel to it and it works. The game is streaming off the disc so most load times are usually less than five seconds. And even if Liberty City is so huge, the frame rate only very rarely suffers. Likewise, the sound is great as well. Rather than having a set soundtrack, GTA3 features digital radio stations. Each station covers a different variety of music and is complete with a DJ and commercials. I love this because it enables you to listen to what you want when you want. Have I mentioned the great voice acting yet? The voiceovers are done by some of Hollywood's best including Joe Pantoliano, Robert Loggia, and Michael Madsen. This makes the game all that much better and definitely gives it a more polished feel. Beyond all the cool missions and the gigantic landscape, GTA3 gives us tons to do. There are hidden packages to be found all over the city. Secret missions can be opened up by jacking certain vehicles. The game also keeps track of all your kills and other statistics, such as your best "stunt" in an automobile. The driving system is in itself fantastic, as all the different cars have a different feel to them, and they break apart in ways no other driving game has done. Although extremely violent and bloody, GTA3 is one of those games that you actually feel like you're a part of. Every component of the game fits together like a puzzle and combines to engulf you in an amazing experience. No other game can match Grand Theft Auto 3's ambition. Rockstar set out to make a worthy successor to the series, and they not only succeeded but created one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure of playing.

        amazing game
This game is simply amazing. I played GTA 1 and 2 and had to endure the annoying overhead view. GTA3 brings you to ground level (but you can switch to overhead if that's what you like). The game has a thrilling storyline and fun missions. In a lot of games you find yourself beating missions just for the sake of getting to the next level. In GTA3 the missions are so fun and original, i forget that i get money for beating it. The cars are really cool and each one drives realistically according to its engine and size. The street gangs are really fun to fight. There is a large variety of weapons and there are different ways to beat each mission. The fold out map that comes with the game is really useful to find your way around the busy city streets. The cops are ruthless when you are in hot pursuit. I find myself laughing whenever i stop suddenly and they would go off a cliff into a river or run over 5 pedestrians. I love how you can be a cop, paramedic, cab driver and a fireman. You can even take the train, subway, boat, or plane to get around the city. Another great thing is the radio stations you can choose to listen to while your driving. They are hystercially funny. This is the best game i've ever played!

          The best party/fighter ever,period.
To start off this is under the genre of a fighter, but it is so much more than that. Great multiplayer mode, soooo much to unlock, 25 characters, 29 stages, 50 event maches, which are actually very fun, 290 trophies to earn find collect and buy,
3 1 player modes, 6 if training, stadium and event match are counted, 3 stadium modes,
Target Test - Smash Ten Targets!
Home-Run Contest - Smash Sand Bag As Far As You Can!
Multi-Man Melee - Fight For You Life! Fight!
3 Regular 1 Player Matches Are,
Classic - Defeat Each Foe To Advance!
Adventure - Clear A stage from a classic franchise (like side-scrolling mushroom kingdom) than fight boss to advance
All-Star - Defeat All Characters With 1 Life (On Normal this can get tough, on hard or very hard it's, hard or very-hard! and on either of the easy settings it's just boring)
          The Characters Are:
          Dr. Mario
          Mario
          Luigi
          Princess Peach
          Bowser
          Yoshi
          Donkey Kong
          Captain Falcon
          Ganondorf
          Falco Lambardi
          Fox McCloud
          Ness
          Ice Climbers
          Kirby
          Samus
          Princess Zelda
          Link
          Young Link
          Pichu
          Pikachu
          Jigglypuff
          Mewtwo
          Mr. Game & Watch
          Marth
          and
          Roy
Plus over a dozen multiplayer modes.

The Game Also Sounds Great. The in game graphics are very good, but not the best. But, if you pause it and zoom in on a character, it just looks fantastic. And when you first put this dist in, don't touch the controller, the opening sequence is nothing less than beutiful.

Just buy this game it's worth the $30s. I looked at my timer when I wrote this review, i've played for 88 hours, and i'm still having fun, of course after unlocking all characters and levels, which will take between 30 and 40 hours, you will need to play with friends to stay interested.

          Whoa!
What a great game! There are 26 characters and 29 stages. The stages are Icicle Mountain, Peach's Castle, Rainbow Cruise, Kongo Jungle, Jungle Japes, Great Bay, Temple, Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island, Green Greens, Fountain of Dreams, Corneria, Venom, Brinstar, Onett, Mute City, Pokemon Stadium, and Mushroom Kingdom. The 11 secrets are Flat Zone, Brinstar Depths, Fourside, Big Blue, Poke Floats, Mushroom Kingdom 2, Battlefield, Final Destination, N64 Yoshi's Island, N64 Dream Land, and N64 Kongo Jungle. 1-4 Player Vs. Mode consists of Melee (Time, Stock, Bonus or new Coin, choose what items appear, set time for Stock Matches, Melee or Team Battle), Tournament Melee (up to 64 entrants!) and Special Melee (Camera, Stamina, Super Sudden Death, Giant, Tiny, Invisible Melee, Fixed-Camera, Single-Button, Lightning, and Slow-Mo Melees.

There are 293 trophies to collect. Look at a description of each in the Gallery, look at your collection, or buy them in the Lottery.

With a special movie, improved AI, 293 trophies and incredible depth, this game is a must have.

            Rules the school...
Pretty much the best first person shooter to date, regardless of platform, and definitely worthy of the hype. I have to admit that I was initially skeptical about all the hyperbole when I got my XBox, since I've yet to see any FPS that actually worked well without a keyboard and mouse (including GoldenEye), and very few first person shooters managing to actually involve you in the story (except for Half-Life and Deus Ex). But Halo delivers on all fronts-the storyline and scripted events are tight, the level design is phenomenal (no idiotic boss battles a la Return to Castle Wolfenstein or platform jumping sequences), and pushes the envelopes of the genre in terms of enemy AI and graphics. Perhaps more than anything, Halo innovates-you experience squad combat with ally AI that is tight and pretty helpful, you can pilot virtually any vehicle in the game, levels are massive and varied, etc. Finally, this is the first shooter I've ever seen that actually makes you feel like you're in the midst of a war--there are several sections in the game where you literally are thrown in the middle of dozens of enemies battling with each other, and can alter the outcome of the battle through your action or inaction. Adding to the mayhem is the possibility of 2-player co-operative play through the missions, which is by far the most addictive feature I've seen in any first person shooter--I've literally melted days away with friends crouched in front of the XBox in unproductive Halo bliss...

            Best. Game. Ever.
Hey, all of the reviewers who gave this title 5 stars can't be wrong or misguided. HALO is simply the best game ever created, on any platform (PC, PS1/2, Nintendo, what have you).

The graphics are lush and gorgeous, with an attention to detail that I have not seen since. Fire a slew of bullets at an enemy and spent rounds not only fly off your gun, but also stay on the ground. Blast marks, errant bullets, and blood stains all stay on the environment map, which can leave maps looking like real battlefields after a particularly intense game. Draw distances are also phenomenal, allowing players to pick off enemies from across the map with confidence (an no small amount fo skill).

The sound is terrific as well, as bullets, grunts, and other ambient noise all add to the atmosphere. Playing this game with surround sound is simply awesome.

The single player campaign is also great, and offers players of every skill a good challenge. Legendary is exactly what it sounds like, and beating the game on that level is quite a feat. A great advantage of HALO's campaign mode is the ability to team up with a friend and take out the Covenant as a team. The A.I. is also excellent. The enemies are challenging without 'cheating' (essentially becoming inhuman and never missing), which is what commonly happens on other games at the upper levels.

Another of HALO's strenghts is the fact that it is a *tactical* shooter, meaning that the player must use good strategy to survive. Being able to only carry two weapons at a time really drives home this point, and means that players will have to make sacrifices in order to carry an effective all-around combination of weapons. Vehicles are also great, and although learning to drive them can be a little frustrating at first most people catch on fairly quickly and are able to go around running their opponents over in short order.

HALO's controls are also excellent--easy to learn, with lots of customizable options making them accessible to players of all levels. This is hearsay for a hardcore PC shooter fan like myself, but I prefer HALO's controls to the mouse/keyboard setup on the PC (yikes!).

Finally, where HALO really shines is in multiplayer. With several different game types to choose from, customizable options affecting scoring, respawn time, weapon/vehicles available, etc... you and your friends will be coming back for more. No matter how good HALO is as a single player game (and it is very good), it is elevated to Best Game Ever through multiplayer. There's nothing quite like getting together 7 other friends and blasting each other apart. No X-Box live support, but it is possible to play online (with some patience).

The praise could just go on and on... If you have to get one game for XBox it has to be HALO. Accept no substitutes.

            Halo, the one and only!
Halo Online mutiplayer is great for an amazing single player 1st person shooter. The multiplayer capabilities are amazing too. With the release of Halo custom Edition from Bungie.com you can take the modding capability of games to a brand new level. This by far is one the best best games ever. And to all those who says it's too easy try to beat it on legendary difficulty in 5 days. Simply a MUST HAVE! Raven

The most eagerly anticipated action rpg in history
Hey everyone, I pre-ordered directly from Squaresoft, and was lucky to receive the game a full week before its street release! Kingdom Hearts is definitely worth the wait and anticipation. It brilliantly mixes the dark sensibilities of Square's work with Disney's well-known brand of layered humor. There are over 100 Disney cameos in the game, and only around a dozen from Final Fantasy. While the various Disney characters fill their roles to perfection, this is NOT a kids game! Beloved Disney characters die, both onscreen and off. Through the brilliant writing and impeccable voice acting, there are several scenes that WILL bring a tear to your eye, the most poignant for me being Sora's first meeting with a very lonely and confused Winnie the Pooh. The story centers around Sora (voiced wonderfully by Haley Joel Osment), an ordinary boy thrust into an extraordinary adventure. He is joined by Goofy and Donald Duck, which are pure perfection, like the rest of the cast. In each world (save for three), you have the option of recruiting famous Disney heroes/heroines into your party. Notable party guests include Ariel, Jack Skellington and Beast, who packs a punch with powerful melee-based moves. The villains fulfill their roles with unabashed glee, with notable performances going to Maleficent (whose voice actress sounds remarkably like the original actress from Sleeping Beauty) and Hades (who is once again voiced by James Woods). Only the camera (which can get downright evil in certain areas) and the length of the game itself otherwise marr this breathtaking title. Please, enjoy this game, because I know I am!

              Best Game Around. Definately.
I was extremely impatient waiting fo rthe release of Kingdom Hearts in October 2002. When tons of seventh graders at our school got it, word went around: this game was awesome. I, however, had the misfortune of getting it six months later. But it was worth the wait. Kingdom Hearts tells the story of a boy named Sora, and his quest to find his friends after their 'world' is destroyed. Along the way you team up with Donald and Goofy, sent by King Mickey and the rest of the Disney Castle to help Sora and save other worlds from further destruction. There are numerous Final Fantasy character here and there, but it's disappointing: there is only Yuffie, Cloud and Aeris (called Aerith) from FF 7; Squall (now called Leon) and Selphie from FF 8; and Tidus and Wakka from FF 10- and who can forget Cid, whose in everything? The graphics are awesome and the plot has many twists and turns. You fight the Heartless and, after a while, focus all your energy on saving this one girl it's apparent you have a major crush on... or is it love? There are around seven levels (or 'worlds') you must save, takes you around two months. Let's just say my point is to.... BUY IT TODAY!

Kingdom hearts is the best game I have you have to find a way to get it its so much fun....

              NINTENDO COMES THROUGH ONCE AGAIN
I just bought an Onyx SP and a Mario Bros. 3 game yesterday at my local KBToys, and I must say I'm impressed. Many companies have tried to make handhelds before (I hear even Playstation is coming out with one -- jeez), but Nintendo is the only company that is preffered by ACTUAL GAMERS. I mean, sure I'm pretty upset about my old GBA gathering dust somewhere in my personal junkyard, but the GBA really was quite a problem. I mean, after only a week the screen was cracked and smuged, and once it was night out I couldn't see what I was doing. I tried to fix this by buying a Pelican Light/Shield, but the thing kept falling off and leaving a blue tint on my screen. But just when I thought I had lost, here it is -- the SP!!!!

              PROS:

Sidelit screen that completly illuminates your gameplay

Clamshell design folds-down, making less annoying, horrible looking scratches on your screen

Rechargable battery saves money on buying batteries

Cool design and colors (Especially Onyx)

              CONS:

Screen collects dust quickly for some reason

No headphone jack (which isn't really a problem since the stereo sound of the SP is phenominal)

              Smaller L-R buttons

              RECOMENDED GAMES:

Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Four Swords
              Mario Advance
              Mario Bros. 3
              Metroid Fusion
              Legacy of Goku II
              all Tony Hawk games
              Final Fantasy Tactics
              Draognball Z Taiketsu
              Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Sacred Cards
              all Golden Sun games

              I use mine constantly - it's brilliant!
The release of the Game Boy Advance SP fixed the primary thing wrong with the original GBA - it gave us light!

There are many ways in which the SP shines over the original GBA, in addition the fantastic light which makes game-playing so much easier.

There's the close-shut design which keeps the screen safe from being scratched, and makes it fit perfectly in your pocket or pocketbook. It's smaller than a deck of cards now! The speaker is reasonably good, and the buttons are a bit on the small size but still quite playable. You can't plug a regular headphone into the back of the system, but an easy-to-find adaptor solves that problem. You do have to wonder why they didn't just put a normal headphone port on the back, but I imagine this strange-shaped port they used instead will have other uses soon!

There's the normal port for GBA to GBA play. And then there's the cool power adaptor! Instead of buying trillions of batteries and always burning them out, you simply plug in the fold-up power adaptor for a few hours. Once the built in batteries are charged, they'll play for 11 hours! It's a great setup that saves tons of money (and resources!) by not having you buy batteries on a weekly basis.

Of course, it plays all GBA and past generation games, so the wealth of games out there for pretty cheap money is just phenomonal. You can play literally a different game every day of the year and still have many games to go through.

Highly recommended for any gaming fan - the perfect system to keep next to your wallet for any line-waiting, time-killing or quiet lunchtime gameplay!

                Incredible
My first impression of the game was that it would have a summoner type feel (which isn't bad, but not usual FF to me.) However, the game has a very well done story line. Good voice acting and it flushes out the characters so well that they talk to each other and goof on each other in battle. The graphics are very good, though a little jittering and jagged edges on the vector at times. The cutscenes however are superb, and almost movie like in quality.
The game has a great combat interface, though I am not sure yet if I like the sphere system for gaining skills and abilities.

The storyline seems good so far and I am approximately 10 hours in. The music is very good, but I still think the FF3 soundtrack is the best one ever. Overall this is turning out to be my favorite in all the FF series that I have played.

                Incredible
Final Fantasy is unlike any other Final Fantasy. Sure, FF X has the spiky haired hero and the same themes as the other games in the series. However, this being the first game in the series for PS2, Square realized they needed to come into the next generation with a bang. Boy did they ever.

From the opening of the game, you will be blown away. The first FMV is absolutely incredible. I am still stunned after seeing it many times. The game only gets better from there. The plot follows Tidus and Yuna's quest to free Spira from Sin. It is intriguing (with some funky time travelling aspects), engrossing, and wonderful. Just what you would expect from Square.

So far not much seems too diffrent. Then you notice the graphics. Even though the game is two years old, it still looks very good. And those FMV sequences are excellent (and there is a decent amount of them too). After the grapchics you will notice the battle system. It's been changed. No more Active Time Battle (ATB), which has been used in all the Playstation Final Fantasy games. Instead is more strategic, slower system called the CTB. In this system the game has an order at the right of the screen that tells the player when each of the characters will attack. Diffrent actions make the order change. If you decide to use an item, the character might be able to go again before the monster. But if you summon an Aeon, the order might change. It all leads to very compelling combat, and some important descisions. Should I use this special attack or just a normal one? Summon an aeon or use a spell? Your character's lives could depend on it.

There are few more major changes you will no doubt notice on your journey. First, the spoken voices. This is the first Final Fantasy to contain voice acting. For the most part, it is pretty good. Tidus and Wakka are my personal favorites. Yuna's voice can become annoying after a while though. Another change is that this Final Fantasy is very linear. Although there are sidequests, no "overworld' like in past FF's hurt FFX a bit.
Also, the mini-game Blitzball is not very good. If you put a lot of time into it, the game becomes pretty fun, but Blitzball is just way to complicated. What hapenned to the great card mini games of FF VII and FF IX?

These are just a minor quibbles, though because otherwise the game is excellent and more than worthy of the Final Fantasy name. And for only twenty bucks, this is a steal. If you are even remotely interested in RPGs this game belongs in your collection. The music is excellent, the story is excellent, the battles are excellent, the ending is excellent and the characters are awesome. What more do you want from an RPG? Square has outdone themselves yet again.

                Wow!
They did it again! What a great comeback from FFIX...the storyline is excellent, with just the right amount of action and story mix that's so hard to find. Serious eye-candy: someone finally showed us just what the PS2 can do...excellent combat system with lots of tactical possibilities, powers, spells etc.
I wasn't sure I liked the level advancement system in this game (eperience points give you AP, which allow you to move around a matrix gaining new skills and abilites.) I've grown to enjoy it; its as challenging as the game itself.

The game is well paced; you don't have to spend countless hours building up levels in order to beat the next boss. There is SOME development necessary, but it's minimal.

Only negative; you don't get to control the inevitable airship until very late in the game. Thus, it isn't until the final hour that most sidequests become available. Kind of wish they were more spread out, so they don't cause such a serious break in the story line. Up until that point, the game is very linear. Minor complaint at worst.
