Resident Evil, the game that is often credited with starting the survival-horror genre, is being reinvented for the GameCube. For those unfamiliar with the series, a mysterious corporation has secretly been performing ungodly biotech experiments in the sleepy little town of Raccoon City. When reports of gory attacks come in from nearby areas, two crack military squads are sent to investigate. Players take the role of either sharpshooter Chris Redfield or demolitions expert Jill Valentine to track down the source of the town's problems--specifically, something in a decaying mansion that's mutating animals into grotesque killers and turning humans into bloodthirsty zombies. Supplies and ammunition are scarce, so players have to know when to fight, when to run, and how to keep their wits about them. Players can't afford to waste their shots and expect their characters to survive.

The story is being retrofitted with motion-captured animation, next-generation graphics, real-time lighting and shadow effects, new areas, and newly rendered in-game video segments to create an even more cinematic experience. Also, a redesigned combat system lets players attack and defend themselves with a variety of items found in the environment.

    Gamecube Finally Makes Its Mark
When debating which of the 3 gaming systems to purchase I got advice from everyone almost all of which told me to stay away from Gamecube. But me being a Nintendo fan since the early days of NES and then to N64, I stuck with them and after buying Resident Evil I'm glad I did. This system is compact and packs awesome graphic detail into small mini dics. I bought a few other games with the system but this one will definitely rank as my favorite for quite some time. Plenty of animation sequences and puzzles to stump even the best gamers out there. The only fault I'd give this game at all is the delay when going through doors. I know its due to it loading up into memory all the graphics for the next room so that isn't that big a deal to me. It actually gives you a chance to relax for a few seconds before something else comes at you. I look forward to seeing more games of this caliber and to Nintendo making another mark in the gaming world.

    The evil returns
    THE GOOD:
The graphics, us resident evil veterns will be thirilled to see the mad detail of the monsters and characters. New monsters and areas help explain the resident evil plot. New monsters: Lisa ( a freaky monster thats kind of like nemisis but dose'nt fallow you the whole game, Crimson heads (if you don't kill a zombie by burning it or destorying its head it'll be revived and will be strong and fast as a hunter, it will also have claws)Kamikazi zombies (zombies with explosives). New areas: grave yards, lisa's cabbin.Added modes of game play to make it harder : Real survivor mode, Ivisiable enemy mode. You can finaly team up with your partner to take down a boss (based on your actions you may have a little help in takeing down a boss). And lastly rebbeca looks way hotter.
    THE BAD:
Not much really bad with the game but the lisa monster looks freaky but a little stupid. Jill dose'nt look as hot as she was from the original or resident evil 3 but that should'nt matter.

    SUMMARY:
This is the way a remake should be done which I hope paves a rode to remake more games like the rest of the resident evil series or perhaps the final fantasy series.

The Rebirth of a new Nightmare....
Resident Evil the Remake is easily one of the best looking Games to ever be created to a console system. The graphics are just plain beautiful. The controls...well...uh..mmhh..SUCKS!
I don't get how people wyn about the camera angle...It was find to me. A little frustraiting but fine.

I loved this game even though Zero was a disapointment...I loved ZERO but still The remake will be a classic in the RE series.

Lets start of by saying RE is a very messed up game...Biological mutating monsters, Zombies, ect...The game is just plain creepy..The Remake makes silent hill 3 look like another episode of micky mouse.

Lets start off with my review of everything in the game now...

    The controlls..
Yes the controlls suck! Big time! I hated em'...Couldn't stand em...But I still managed to beat the game..It's 2 disks I think..
Capcom should have done better on the controlls.....4/5...yea...after all that whyning I still give it a 4/5..hmmm

    The graphics..
Do I really need to review this?.....5/5!!!

    The story..
Great...just like the Original except better and nothing was censored like the original PSX version in the U.S. Very smart..very cool and very exciting. The story is also great cause it has some twists and turns...Great..5/5..

    Gameplay..
I liked the gameplay alot...the graphics saved it alittle though..The part with the tanks with the shark scenario with Jill and Chris was brilliant...the water movement was just...GORGIOUS....My spelling sucks I know...The tryant part was fun too...Everything was fun...and Creeeeeeeeepy...5/5

Is this the best Resident Evil game ever?...
Oh hell no...the best RE game was 3..Nemisis...I lost my PSX copy of Nemisis though but Fortunaly I baught the Gamecube version which is just as good as the PSX version...It's a port from the Dreamcast version which is good....Acctually I think Resident Evil 4 will be the best but for now it's 3...

I own almost every Resident Evil game..story wise I mean..not like added stuff capcom made like OUTBREAK..I own..mmm let's see..
    Resident Evil remake
    Resident Evil original PSX version
Resident Evil 2 for psx but lost it and now got the Gc version..
Resident evil 3 for GC...THE BEST RE GAME EVER!
Resident Evil Zero...Ohh this game had some potential...It is yet another RE story game..not some special thing Capcom made like The gun one and Outbreak...I've reviewd all the RE games I own on the versions I've played....This is probably 3 place for RE game...Nemisis...2..then Remake..then ZERO....

RE remake should be owned by Hardcore RE gamers...The hardest RE game I've played was 3 nd' remake...CV was alright..I didn't like it that much..I got all the way through disk 1 in the Dreamcast version and then stoped and had to return it for a friend...Didn't like it that much...

Which character has a better scenario in RE Remake?...
Will alot of people thought it was Jill but I liked Chris's story line in Resident Evil remake...I loved his character development(Donno why I said that but I think thats what it's calld...whatever..) with Rebecca Chambers...Uh I don't wanna sound like a perv but Every time I think of the name Rebecca Chambers It sounds like a porn stars name...lol..Rebecca Chambers is also in Resident evil Zero...But what was also cool about Chris is his story line is a tad bit more dramatic...like

    SPOILERS...
When Jill does the right thing and gets the antodote for Richard he later gets eatin by a Huge ass Snake..
In Chris storyline When you save him he later gets torn apart by a Massive giant shark...Honestly though...They should have givin you a reason why he was at the Shark tank for a reason..THEY DON'T GIVE YOU ANY REASON...He jus...He just shows up there for no reason...Chris's version of the game is more frustraiting then Jills Part...

There was alot of other things I wanet to change about the storyline between the two like...for one example Jills Good ending..Wesker...SPOILER AHEAD...gets smacked by the Tyrant and gets away with it..I would Have rather wanted him to be killed by the Tyrant like in Chris's good ending nd' bad ending.....

This game has loads of ending even though you don't have to start the entire game over just to get a different ending....
You just have to change some stuff and make some decisions I think...Theres about 12 endings total with Chris n' Jill...

This game is over all 5/5...Or what I like to say 9.8 out of 10...

Oh! And if you wanna see Jill again Like me then you should get Resident Evil 3 Nemisis for the Game Cube....

    Later...

    Devil May Cry
    Made by Capcom

Shinji Mikami, the creator and producer of the Resident Evil games, and Hideki Kamiya, the director of Resident Evil 2, have teamed up once again. This time, the duo has created a fast-paced game that's one of the best translations of classic 2-D action in a 3-D world. Two thousand years ago the Devil Emperor threatened to conquer humanity, but was stopped by a benign devil knight. The emperor was imprisoned, but now threatens to escape. It's up to the knight's half-breed son, Dante, to follow in his father's footsteps and defeat the Devil Emperor once again.

In addition to being a fine swordsman, Dante is equally adept with guns. In the first half of the game, players slash and shoot their way through. After acquiring a different weapon, the focus changes to close combat. Weapons can be upgraded and new attacks can be learned, adding to the game's variety. As a whole, the action is immense and flows smoothly. A few things impede it, however. During fights with bosses and multiple enemies, the fixed camera angles can get frustrating. The in-game text also scrolls painfully slow.

Graphically, this is one of the best-looking games Capcom has ever published, and that's saying something considering its impressive visuals in Resident Evil. The hard-rock-style music is nothing to write home about, though. The voice acting is strong, but there's not much of it, which is a shame, as the interesting setting would have made for some great storytelling. However, the focus here is fast and furious action, and this game elevates it to an art form. Parents should note that this game is gratuitously violent and is not recommended for anyone under 18. --Raymond M. Padilla

      Pros:

      • Outstanding controls
      • Topnotch graphics
      • One of the best menu systems ever
      Cons:
      • Camera angles get troublesome
      • Fantastic setting not fully exploited
      • Only 7 to 12 hours of gameplay
      Average review score:

      good game bad camera!!!
i really liked this game... i had alot of fun but the abrupt camera angles made some of the boss battles much more frustrating than they had to be... it's worthy of all the praise graphic wise... and for the most part it's pretty fun... when your lining up your target and suddenly the camera angle changes and theres a pillar in the way... i understand this is a really challenging problem for 3-d game designers but you would think by now someone would get it right! i can't finish it... it gives me a headache.

This is a GREAT game, it should be on every PS2 short list !
This is one of the very best PS2 games you can own...run, don't walk to your local store if you don't already own it! The action is fast and furious, the graphics are gorgeous, and the music is always appropriate and cool, whether you're in the middle of a fight or just exploring the big creepy castle. The reviewer who compared it to Castlevania missed the point...Devil May Cry is what Castlevania wishes it could be (3D, ultra-fun, and in-your-face) and isn't yet. Dante's moves and upgrades are incredibly cool....even in Mission 1, before you've obtained any items or powers of note, you can stil double jump off a wall, whip out your twin handguns and blaze away (well!) in midair. It's BETTER than a John Woo film. The level of polish is good...even the menus are cool! Oh, and did I mention that most of the regular enemies and all of the bosses are amazing-looking, original, and tough to beat? Perfecto.
My only gripes are that the story is a bit weak (basically an excuse for mass carnage... but what story in a video game isn't?) and the camera angles let you down occasionally. The game is also a little bit TOUGH...others who tell you its too easy are very likely playing it in Easy mode. There's also a lot more gameplay than the 8-15 hours some are quoting...again, DON'T choose Easy mode when the game offers it (i.e. after you die a couple of times early), and do do the Secret Missions. You'll be in for a long, hard challenge, but it is soooo worth it. What a game.

      Style and Substance!
"Devil May Cry" is by far one of the best games to arrive on the Playstation 2. The story has you playing as a young man named Dante a mercenary that is actually half human/half demon. He longs for revenge against the demons that killed his mother and brother ten years ago. Now with the aid of a young woman named Trish he is urged to go to Malay Island where the kinf og the underworld Mundis is attempting to break free of the bonds Dante's father, the legendary dark knight sparda placed on him. Now the game graphically is excellent bring a constant 60fps. The controls are easy and allow any one to pull of combinations that would only be seen in movies such as "The Matrix" or "Croutching Tiger Hidden Dragon". Thankfully Capcom did allow the use of the analog stick so that also makes controlling the character a lot easier. The combat system is beyond fun especially using the various swords on your enemies, when I got the last sword I felt like I was the main character from the movie "Vampire Hunter D:BloodLust". The atmosphere and music create a wonderful gothic experiance and the level designs are simply incredible. The voice overs are very good as well, wow who would have thought capcom could get that right, especially on Dante. The game has the feel of a mix between a gothic anime and a high powered action film. Yet this game does contain a considerable amount of blood and violence(such as the various scenes where your character is impaled on a sword!) and the Mature rating is well earned. For those who are looking for the best in dark fantasy and action look no further and yes this one is worth the money ^_^

        Master chief back again
If you loved halo. You'll probably love halo 2. With so many new features, Heres a few cool ones ive found out about all over the internet 1. The covenant on earth (how freakin cool is that!) 2.That new rifle(If you havent seen it go to xbox.com and click on movies its near the bottom then look for halo 2) 3.you'll be able to carry to weapons at once and fire then at the same time( think of the posibillities...)4.Drop ships now fair game(finally, you can blast em' out of the air!)5.comandeer a ride( youll be able to grab a covanent vehicle swing around and boot the driver out)Well gamers If you love halo as much as i do (beat it as 20 different guys) You will see me at the store the day the game comes out! Cya PEACE OUT!

Here's the real scoop and not just propaganda:
        Ok, new guns:
        Battle rifle
        Sub Machine Gun (SMG)
Stationary turrets: Includes a .30 cal machine gun turret, look for covenant and human anti-air and vehicle turrets as well.
Possibly a larger caliber .45 type pistol
New Covenant weapons as well, details undisclosed at this time however.

        Vehicles:
Look for various versions of the warthog, including tri-rocket, jungle, transport, snow, and the traditional.
Four-wheeler (no on board weapons, use one hand to shoot over stearing bar)

        Possibly human air fighter craft
New covenant gunships as well, although probably won't be drivable.

        New features:
        Lower your gun and sprint
Combine attacks for devestating melee combos
Possible 4 player co-op (hinted at in the Halo books)
Possible BOTS for multi player and possible support for up to 32 players over x-box live.
Extremely smarter AI. Don't expect to pick grunts off one by one and escape undetected. And watch your back more often.

The current video of Halo 2 gameplay from E3 may or may not be accurate, don't treat it like a Bible.
        New Species:
Brutes-Really big guys with a bad attitude. Think Hunter's strength, Elite's speed.
Prophets-Leaders and high lords of the Covenant with psychokinetic powers.
Engineers-Noncombatant species, super geniuses with anything mechanical. Even repaired Master Cheif's suit once in the book.

        Plot Points:
Anyone who beet Halo on Legendary and watched the credits know that annoying little AI box, 343 Guilty Spark is still out there.
Don't expect to not see the Flood. They'll be back.
Thats really about it. Halo changed everything we knew about FPS's. Expect a whole new revolution with Halo 2 ;-)

        Halo 2
I am here to talk to you about Halo 2. Now, you have heard many things about Halo 2- that you can duel wield, you can go up to a slow moving Ghost or Warthog and knock the driver out- but there are more than just those features. The Master Chief will be fighting alongside of Marines, not in space but on Earth. He will also fight on Convenant home worlds, against the Brutes, Hunters, Elites, Grunts, and Jackels, with new weapons like the battle rifle and many more. And with the Master Chief with new Mark VI battle armor those Covenant don't stand a chance. So buy one today- heck, buy two! Just kidding. But really, buy one. That's an order, solider.

        Sonic Adventure 2 Battle

Sega's mascot made his 3-D debut on the Dreamcast, but with the demise of that system the zippy blue hedgehog is popping up everywhere--including on the GameCube. Unfortunately, his first next-gen appearance, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, is marred by the same 3-D camera problems that plagued the Dreamcast version, and the multiplayer "battle" component isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

Right out of the gate, players have the option of choosing Hero (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) or Dark (Dr. Eggman, Shadow, and Rouge) quests, which are completely different. Sonic and his dark counterpart Shadow traverse levels at warp speed colleting coins and power-ups while fighting enemies in the game's most exhilarating moments. Unfortunately, the other characters are nowhere near as fun to play. Dr. Eggman and Tails fight through levels that require little more than constant button-mashing to shoot an endless procession of enemies, and Knuckles and Rouge participate in seemingly endless levels that require searching for a variety of objects.

Graphically, the game is a bit of a letdown considering the processing muscle of GameCube. Models are fairly simplistic, and level textures are sometimes bland. Game Boy Advance owners can use a link cable to download Chao from the game and train them on the go, but the rewards for doing so are minor considering the time investment involved. The main feature this game offers over its Dreamcast predecessor is the variety of multiplayer modes, which are fun but offer none of the depth or replayability of standalone multiplayer games like Super Smash Bros. Melee. Still, they are nice additions--especially the racing games--and round out a flawed single-player component. Sonic addicts who missed this game the first time around on the Dreamcast will definitely want to check it out, but the finicky camera, tedious non-Sonic/Shadow levels in single-player mode, and surprisingly shallow multiplayer components (especially the Chao games) turn what could have been a great game into a mere good one. --T. Byrl Baker

          Pros:

          • Plenty of variety
          • Sonic/Shadow levels are pure, unadulterated fun
          Cons:
          • Knuckles/Rouge levels are tedious
          • Multiplayer aspects could use some more depth
          Average review score:

          Sonic pleases with 3D fun
Sonic is best known for his 2D games, and even though it is a departure from his roots, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is still a fun Sonic game. There are six playable characters with their own individual missions. Each good character(Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails) has a "Dark" counterpart(Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman), which basically means their skills are primarily the same. The levels are all fun with the Sonic and Shadow levels being the best(their levels are closest to classic Sonic gameplay), though Tails and Eggman's are fun shooting levels. Knuckles and Rouge have scavenging levels where they have to find three things. Their levels range from easy to annoyingly difficult.

The 2 player mode is really a gimmick because the levels are just like the 1 player levels and they don't really add to the game in anyway. The graphics are on par with Gamecube standard and the music is superb and catchy. The voice acting is slightly cheesy at times and there is terrible lip sync(the characters mouth their Japanese words when English is turned on, but when Japanes is turned on they look fine), but that isn't really a detractor and there is still a fun gaming experience.

Another great Sonic game brought to a Nintendo system
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is a great re-make of Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast. If you have ever played the Dreamcast version of this game, you know what this game is all about.

Sonic is mistaken for an evil Hedgehog named Shadow who has been spreading danger across the world. The military and all police units are after Sonic and you need to escape Sonic from them and avoid them in many of the levels.

There are many fun modes you can play in: Story Mode, Kart Mode and Chao Raising Mode. Story mode is the main game. You can choose to play as the Hero's (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) or the Dark villains (Shadow, Rogue and Dr. Robotnik).

Kart mode is just like Mario Kart games for the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. You unlock Kart racing after you complete the first 9 stages. You can play in one player or two player and race as Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, Rouge, or Dr. Robonik in 3 different courses.

Raising a Chao can be frustrating sometimes, but it is also fun. You teach your Chao to do new things while being nice to it, but trying not to spoil it. This mode gets old after a while though.

The levels in this game are amazing. Each level includes different missions that get more challenging as you get deeper in to the game. The graphics are very realistic and when the spins and jumps Sonic does look very smooth. The gameplay is a lot better than Sonic Adventure.

Sonic also has new abilities to grind on rails, and swing form vines and bars. And there is also a newer helper Chao named OmoChao who gives you hints in each level.

Sonic Adventure 2 is loaded with secrets to unlock. If you get All 'A' rankings in each of the levels many great secrets are unlocked. Also, getting all 180 emblems is very rewarding. There are many other secrets to unlock as well.

There is also an all-new 2 player mode on this game and there are many new characters and environments for the GameCube.

There are only two minor flaws in this game. The camera angles don't always show the direction you want to see and you can't play just as one character like you could in SA1 (on the DC).

Overall this is my favorite Sonic game ever made and a great game for any Sonic fan who has a GameCube. This is probably one of this best games available for the GameCube.

          Oh my gosh...
This (lucky me!) happened to be my first Sonic game. Though I've had the game for a year or so, I still play it regularly. Why?? Because it's one of the best games ever for GC. There's 180 emblems to collect, which will keep you playing for hours at a time. The theme songs are wonderful and desrcibe each character perfectly. The gameplay really flows nicely. If you just want to see the ending, just zip through the story modes. If you want to see a secret little extra that Sonicteam put in, get all 180 emblems.
Rouge and Knuckles' levels aren't really THAT tedious. Wild Canyon and Dry Lagoon are 2 or 3 minute excursions. It's just when you get to the harder levels where it gets tedious. For example spending 9 minutes on Mad Space. Or spending 5 minutes on Death Chamber. But overall, this is a game for people even if they aren't Sonic fans. This game has recently even become a Player's Choice game. Shows you how much people really do love this game ^^

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others.

For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.

Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars.

The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming.

In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall

            Nintendo will always be #1
I have the GameCube and It is the best system I have ever played. It also has an awsome Platinum color. I also Have the Playstation 2 and I like it but only for Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. It has some Ok games for it. But the GameCube has tons of awsome games. Zelda, Mario, MarioKart, SuperSmash bros. Melee, Starfox, Metriod, 1080' Avalanche, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Mario Party, Kirby, Pokemon, Resident Evil, Sonic, StarWars Rouge Squardron 1,2,3, Mario Golf, Donkey Kong, Wario World, BomberMan and those are just some of the exellent exlusive Nintendo games only for GameCube. The GC is way more powerful and faster that the PS2, and it is almost as powerful as an X-box (which is a horrible piece of junk). AND NINTENDO IS NOT A KIDDIE SYSTEM, NINTENDO HAS NEVER BEEN A KIDDIE SYSTEM. Every says how Mario is a kiddie game. No it is not, yeah it's a colorful game, but whats wrong with that, It is a tough game to beat. Also is BMX XXX a kiddie game, if you do then you have some serious issues, Perfect Dark, Resident evil, Medriod Prime, are just some of the M rated games. Medriod is T. And Nintendo is about classics and fun. Fun is racing with crazy race tracks, exploring a strange, new world like Zelda. Nintendo may have fewer total games than PS2 and X-box, but thats because nintendo is very exlusive, they only get certain publishers that stand out. Like Squarsoft, Enix, Capcom, Rare. PS2 just will take about anyone that is out there, even if they suck. X-Box is just a piece of trash. People are so worried that if the game doesen't have someones head flying off with a 100ft trial of blood behind it that the game is cosidered Kiddie. And for X-boxers and alot of PS2 gamers think Nintendo will go down the Drain just like sega did. But what company has had more the 20 exlucsive best seller Nintendo only games, NINTENDO, who has been out for more that two decades, NINTENDO, and who has always made a super durible system and better warrenties and service, NINTENDO. I hate the X-box and PS2 is all right, but the GameCube is the best easily. There I got is out of me, also I am 15 turning 16 in a few months. Don't diss nitendo, if theres a system to be dissed its the X-Box, that thinks raw power is just everything. Well Nintendo is the best if you give it a try. Also for 99 bucks with four Zelda Games. Zelda 1, and 2. Orcana of time, and the sequal, Majoras Mask. All best sellers for the Nes, and N64 ports. But also a demo of the GameCubes Zelda: The wind Waker.

Great system w/ awesome 1st party games
The Gamecube is another excellent system from Nintendo. Unfortunately, third party support for the system is somewhat lukewarm. Luckily, as usual, Nintendo's first party games are instant classics and must play games for people of all ages.
            Pros:
Awesome first party games (Metroid Prime, Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Mario Party 5, Wario, Resident Evil, Mario Kart Double Dash!!)
Controller, while confusing at first, is pretty good. The Wireless Wavebird is awesome.
Awesome accesories (Game Boy Player, Wavebird, GBA to Gamecube link)
            Compact Design
Comes in lots of cool colors
            It's only 100 dollars!!!
            4 controller ports

            Cons:
Third Party support is waning (although there are still some good 3rd party games)
Not the best for sports games
Regarded as "kiddie" by older gamers, so you might not want to bring this to college (although Resident Evil is available, among many other mature games)
Can't play DVDs or CDs (Xbox and PS2 can play both)
Basically no online games and Nintendo is not making any online games
The game devolper Rare (who made Donkey Kong Country and Banjo Kazooie) was sold to Microsoft, so no more awesome Rare games for Gamecube.

Overall, the Gamecube's excellent first party games and cheap price make it a solid buy for gamers. This system is excellent for any gamer. It brings you hours of classic Nintendo fun for an economical price. If you are a fan of Nintendo or don't have a lot of money to spend, I highly recomend this system.

            14. Sonic Mega Collection (WOW, this game brings back memories! Has over 10 classic SEGA games!)
            15. Godzilla: destroy all monsters melee (a good game to take out your anger on. smash the heck out of the monsters and cities!)
            16. Soul Calibur 2 (AMAZING GRAPHICS The best fighting game there is!)
            17. Spiderman (I think this is better than #2, better graphics! fun game!)
            18. Mario Kart: Double Dash ( Great racing game! classic characters!)

These are only a small amount of all the great games to get!!! GAMECUBE WILL LIVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

            thanks!

Oh, one more thing! Nintendo was the first (besides atari) to come out with a gaming system! It has the most systems (besides SEGA) and lets face it: Nintendo knows games! it has the best sustems:

            Nintendo (NES)
            Super Nintendo (SNES)
            Gameboy
            Gameboy Pocket
            Gameboy Color
            Gameboy Advance
            Nintendo 64
            Gameboy Advance SP
            Nintendo Gamecube

If you dont have a GC, I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS GEM OF A GAME SYSTEM!!!! NINTENDO IS THE MOST SUCCEEDING GAME COMPANY IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell grants players access to the highest echelons of national security, where shadowy operatives have the freedom to do whatever it takes to safeguard America. The player controls Sam Fisher, a field operative of a secretive black-ops NSA subagency called Third Echelon. Sam Fisher is geared up to infiltrate high-security strongholds, seize critical intelligence, destroy threatening data, and neutralize the enemy--all without leaving a trace.
              Average review score:

              Excellent stealth game
I'm a big fan of the Tom Clancy series of games, and Splinter Cell is one of the most challenging. So much, in fact, that you will probably have to consult a guide or walkthrough at least once or twice to get you through. What makes this game so much fun, though, is the quality of the graphics and attention to detail. In many games high-end graphics are more cosmetic than functional, but in Splinter Cell they're absolutely essential. The lighting effects are superb, and being able to move in and out of the shadows without being seen is critical. The environment is also very interactive. You can pick up coke cans and throw them in the corner to attract a guard's attention. You can break windows and blow up gas canisters. You can shoot water coolers and watch the water drain out of the hole you've made. All of this helps immerse you within the game. Splinter Cell does have its problems, though. It's easy to become frustrated with the game, particularly if you're used to a much more fast-moving shooter like Halo. It's also a lot more linear than it may seem at first glance. You're always headed in a general direction and going along a certain path. Compare this with Hitman 2, for instance, where you're simply given a target on a map and can eliminate him in any you please. Overall, Splinter Cell is a classic of the stealth genre, and I look forward to playing the sequel when I can save enough money to buy it.

              Amazing game, only one flaw
I agree with what the other reviews say. The graphics in this game, especially the lights and shadows, are breathtaking. The AI is really good, though still pretty fallible and exploitable once you learn their reactions. The missions are varied. One mission you're going around killing everyone in sight and dont have too much time for secrecy. The next, your not allowed to kill ANYBODY, and cant even be detected. This makes for extremely intense, varying gameplay.
The music works perfectly with the game's sounds. When lurking about in shadows you hear every noise around you and all those that you make. When you are detected or are in a fire fight, theres this awesome bass and drum stuff that goes right along with your mood and the action.
Overall, I see one problem with the game. The control style while shooting. AT all other times the controls are fine, but as soon as you draw your weapon the controls become sluggish and unresponsive. However, the overall effect of this is that you cannot run around shooting people because YOU WILL LOSE! Theres no James Bond or HALO type running in and shooting up 8 guys. In this situation you will lose every time unless youre a god. The game forces you to be creative and seek other solutions. Distraction cams are my favorite. They make noises until the guards come close, then you can release poisonous gas to knock them out. Very fun.
Overall, great gameplay, graphics, audio, controls, etc. The only complaint isnt really a complaint because it really helps the game in the end. A must have for any gamer who likes to think things through before hand. Youll know when youre plan hasnt worked almost immediately, because youll be lying on the ground dead.

              nothing wrong with this
Heres what I thought of the game and the features.

Excellent graphics and character models. Every character hand drawn making them unique.

Good storyline and news cast scenes.

Cool moves like hanging on pipes, shooting from them and crawl on them. use guards to cooperate and as human shields.

              Guards are chinese and Russians.

              Good controls

Excellent wepons and items like thermal and night vision goggles, sticky camera, and a SC Pistol (Kind of like a Socom).

Hide and Skadows for cover and stay in light for danger.

Interact with the enviroment. Shoot Lights, soda cans, comperters, throwobjects like the can and about any thing else.

Cool features like behind the sceens footage.

Overall a good game and a must buy!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
              Made by Lucasarts Entertainment
Age Group: 12 years and up
                Amazon base price: $19.95
                List price: $49.99 (that's 60% off!)
                Used price: $12.00
Buy one from zShops for: $18.90
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes place just a few years after the Mandolorian Wars, thousands of years before the events in the Star Wars movies we know and love. Two Jedi, master Revan and his apprentice Malak, led the Republic's forces to victory and pursued the Mandalorians into deep space only to return as Dark Jedi at the head of a huge fleet of Sith warships. Only the Force powers of the Jedi Bastila prevented the Sith from overwhelming the Republic's weakened forces. At the start of the game Malak has usurped control of the Sith by betraying Revan and has attacked the ship carrying Bastila and yourself. In true Star Wars style, the game begins with a bang.

The storyline could have been a standard coming-of-age yarn but is instead a genuinely interesting adventure told with humor, compassion, and respect for the source material. Your character has a mystical bond with Bastila, and the two of you share some kind of connection to the Sith villains Darth Malak and Darth Revan. The game's planet-hopping adventures are driven by your exploration of these connections and how they relate to your larger goal of discovering the source of the Sith's sudden fleet. During your adventure you can explore side quests minor (such as racing swoops or gambling) and major (such as uncovering the fascinating back stories of your companions). Star Wars fans will get a kick out of the rich lore introduced in the game, particularly the Tatooine storyline that reveals the origin and history of the Sand People.

Gameplay is an abbreviated form of Wizards of the Coast's d20 Star Wars RPG game system--anyone who has played Dungeons & Dragons will be familiar with the abilities, stats, feats, and bonuses in this game. The player creates a character as a member of one of three starting classes (soldier, smuggler, scout) and then later chooses a Jedi class (guardian, consular, sentinel). Joining the player's character are other Jedi, warriors, thieves, droids, a wookiee, and even a Mandolorian. Unlike the faceless non-player characters of other games, each member of the supporting cast has an intriguing history and even agenda. Up to two of these other characters can join your character at any time. Depending on who you chose to take with you, new dialogue and even intra-party arguments come into the game (put the Mandalorian veteran with the Republic patriot and you'll see sparks fly). Combat is real-time turn-based, meaning the turns are seamless but the player has the option of pausing the action at any time to issue orders or direct any character to use a certain Force power, ability, feat, or item.

Graphics range from adequate to exceptional. Building and character models are not impressive--about what you get in GTA 3. Lightsaber graphics and environmental effects (like waving grass, clouds, and weather) bring the world to life. Battles are just brilliant, with characters pumping out blaster fire at Jedi who dash, dodge, and even deflect the bolts back toward their assailants. Complete with sounds straight out of the movies, the thrilling combat is pure Star Wars.

All in all, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a masterpiece of Star Wars gaming. The pacing, balance of action and dialogue, clever puzzles and quests, and loving attention to detail have set the bar very high for role-playing games in general and Star Wars games in particular. Consider this a must-have game.--Mike Fehlauer

                Pros:

                • Captivating storyline
                • Clever dialogue
                • Star Wars feel
                • True story and dialogue support for either Light Side or Dark Side play
                • Brilliant combat graphics
                • Fascinating characters (the loyal--and homicidal--droid HK-47 is truly unique)
                Cons:
                • Occasional bugs in dialogue, movie playback
                • Cannot transfer equipped gear between characters while on your ship

It Really Doesn't Get Much Better Than This in Console Games
Let's get right to the point ... this game is one of the top 2 or 3 console titles produced to date, period. Hype? Not at all. It's simply a wonderful gaming experience start to finish.

Disclaimer -- I am not a huge fan of console gaming, I tend to prefer PC games. However, this game is an outstanding example of what a console game *can* be when it's done right, and boy what a ride this one is.

The game is hard to categorize. It's technically a RPG following the D20 pen-and-paper Star Wars Role Playing Game rules and system presented by Wizards of the Coast, which closely follows the new DnD rules. However, the game plays more like an interactive movie than a typical RPG .. there is combat, but this isn't a predominantly hack-and-slash game. It's a great search, explore, find type of game, with a wonderful rendering of the Star Wars galaxy environment, and frankly the best dialogue and character interaction I have seen in a computer/console RPG-type game. The storlyline and characters are deep, compelling and they draw you in ... you begin to really care about what is happening, about the story that is developing, and it is not the banal story often slapped on to a RPG as a colorful backdrop for endless combat scenes, but a real cinematic-type story.

I would go as far as to say that this game justifies purchasing an X-Box, if you don't own one. It's really that good. And if you own an X-Box, obviously you have to have this game -- it's the best one out there for that, or any other, console platform.

I don't often give products five stars....
but KOTOR deserves it. First off, my XBOX is connected to my large screen TV and 5.1 surround sound home theater, so the effects of the game is very good.

As an RPG the story line and voices done by the actors is great. I plan on doing both Light and Dark, and I'm starting in the light. I've played other RPG and many of them have 'dumb' quests: get item, bring to person. Some of the KOTOR quests are similar, but almost all involve a twist or two that keep the game fresh. The Star Wars graphics look great and the music just blends well with the game. The corny factor is also at a minimum and some of the lines are actually funny.

The only cons I have is I'd rather go for a real-time combat system, where the player can actually interact with the combat. Also, I wish that character models had more variety. You end up seing the same people over and over and over.

But all-in-all, a great and addicting game.

To be blunt, this game is simply phenomenal.
Ah, the realm of Star Wars... Filled with so many good - and bad *cough hayden christensen cough* things. And to not name Knights of the Old Republic amongst the good should be punishable by law. To be blunt, this is game is simply phenomenal.

As it should be in any good RPG, KotOR features an insanely good plotline. You'll begin your journey at one of three "professions." Soldier, Scout or Scoundrel - all either male or female. It's up to you as to whether you'd like to customize each aspect of your character or just have the computer create a quick one for you. You're stationed on a Republic Battle cruiser - the Endar Spire. From here, it's up to you to escape your doomed ship and make it off to Taris - the planet you're in orbit around.

Right from the first minutes of the game, you're choosing your side - or path if you will - which will ultimately result in your fate and place in the galaxy. It comes down to you to choose through your actions and dialogue whether you will side with the Republic - or the Sith.

Those who are not very familiar with RPGs (as I've noticed in some of the other reviews) sometimes find the combat style of Knights to their disliking. I myself am a fan of first person shooters like Halo. You'll soon find that Knights in the COMPLETE opposite of Halo when it comes to combat. Combat is turn based and auto- targeting and while you might formulate a picture of a slow tedious time watching the computer aim, fire, miss aim, fire, hit... it's quite the contrary. Utterly unlike Halo, combat doesn't resolve around pumping your opponent with as much lead as fast as possible (which is awesome, don't get me wrong) but around strategy. You main characters and accompanying party members each wield different skills. A Jedi might use a skill like force choke to mercilessly drain the life from an opponent while a soldier might use grenades and the rapid fire skill to take out targets. Trust me, if you're willing to try it and get into the game, combat is far from a con.

On top of the stellar storyline, combat, and the ability to decide how the game's going the end - Knights wields additonal positives. One thing I was impressed about right off the bat - before I even got into the storyline - was the sound and graphics. The voices of each of the main characters are performed by actors who do a great job with tone and rate. The sound of a lightsaber springing to life or a blaster going off are instantly recognizable. On one particular planet, you can hear the breeze blowing across the plains. The music is decent. The most important things is that it doesn't get really annoying after a lot of gameplay time. It changes accordingly during exploring time and time spent in combat. The graphics are impressive. Those displayed during the various movie clips are better than the in-game ones, though the in-game graphics are still satisfactory.

Finally - plus the graphics and sound, Knights features great replayability - something that sometimes hard to find in XBox games. The variation of games you can play are stunning. You might play your first game as the Light Side male soldier while you take a couple side quests because you're still getting the hang of things. Then you may go back and play the game as a Dark Side female scoundrel with a completely differnt set of powers and storyline. You may take a few more side quests - opening up further possibilities. Depending on the side quests you take, game might anywhere from 24 hours to 40 hours.

Overall, I'd go back and shell out $100 dollars for this game. I can't say enough about it - as is obvious by the above.

Hope I've helped give you some insight into one of the best games I've ever played! (BTW, look for the sequel on December)

                  Zoo Tycoon is Great!
Zoo Tycoon is an amazing game. You can build a zoo with some of your favorite animals such as, tigers, lions, and bears! You can also play senarios and do alot more! If you like going to zoos then why not manage a zoo? Your zoo could be one of the best zoos ever! Just be careful... dont let the animals loose or you will loose alot of guests and the zoo will go hectic! Good luck playin Zoo Tycoon! Remember: Do what you want!

A winner for all types of gamers
This is an excellent little game in the style of Rollercoaster Tycoon. It is quite suitable for children or non-gamers, because of its simple interface and unobjectionable content. However, it kept this long-time game player riveted for many hours.

You are in charge of a zoo, and the animals and guests are your primary concern. You'll spend most of your time making the animals happy, as guests are pleased primarily by happy, well-adjusted animals. The great cats are notoriously hard to please, but all animals have their demands - from a certain type of terrain, to toys, to shelters. You also have to consider the most suitable fence type to keep your lions away from your Thomson's gazelles. The most difficult portion of the game strategically is raising the money to afford all of these improvements.

The game includes both scenarios and free-form maps. I prefer the scenarios as they offer a challenge - for example, build a zoo with at least 6 different endangered species within 12 months. There are cheatcodes available to give you unlimited money, which could be fun in free-form mode to build one's perfect vision of a zoo. Imagine that you're building Disney's Animal Kingdom or your favorite local childhood zoo and you have the idea.

Microsoft/Blue Fang have released a number of updates to the game, including new exotic creatures. They also included a bug-reporting feature. If you do experience a crash, Zoo Tycoon will upload information to Microsoft for troubleshooting.

This game exceeds efforts of similar games, such as SimSafari. Its mass appeal makes it an excellent Christmas gift, and it's definitely suitable for children as well as adults. You won't have to worry about unnecessary violence or sexual content here - although the animals do produce offspring, there is no hint of how they did so. And if the lions do leap the fence and eat your gazelles, you won't be seeing any blood spatter. The lack of these elements doesn't spoil gameplay, while making the game stand out as a game that parents can feel comfortable sharing with their kids.

Zoo Tycoon: The Pride Of Zoobuilding and Managing
Zoo Tycoon is the most realistic and literally addictive game ever made. Design the wildest and most amazingly beautiful zoos from the comfort of your very own home! Even discover the secret of unlocking unicorns, yetis, and how to make endangered species thrive in your zoos! Make your zoo a thrill to visit by displaying the most interesting and fascinating animals in your own custom zoo! Decorate and design your zoo to thrill guests and they will never want to leave! Meanwhile, keep your guests happy and nourished by adding food kiosks of which you control the prices, animal houses, gift shops, and even carousels! Hire tour guides to lead your guests along the many different pathways of your zoos! Build viewing areas next to your exhibits for a wandering guest to stand under and watch the animals in the peaceful shade! Even design theme zoos out of all of the many possible landscapes to choose from in which to build and design your zoo! This is the most fun and realistic adventure that you could possibly have without actually visiting a zoo! You will be amazed and very impressed!
And who knows, you could be the newest and best zoo manager of all time!
                  With love to Zoo Tycoon,
                  Jennifer Paige

Game Boy Advance Console in Indigo
                  Made by Nintendo
Age Group: 6 years and up
                    Amazon base price: $69.99
                    Used price: $40.00
The Game Boy platform (which includes the original unit, the Game Boy Pocket, and the Game Boy Color) came to market when most video game consoles had a life expectancy of just a few years. More than a decade later, the system is still going strong. How did the Game Boy successfully compete--and in some cases bury--an onslaught of faster, more powerful handheld and home console systems? Let us count the ways: affordability, a huge library of games that consistently made the most of the hardware's limitations, smart power management that extended battery life, and uncluttered controls. But perhaps it was the system's ultraportable design that allowed devotees to play video games around their schedule, making it the must-have system for kids and adults alike.

Now the Game Boy Advance (or GBA as people are already calling it) comes to us with power that would have been unthinkable back in the day. The portable's 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former's 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying beeps and boops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitized stereo sound. The extra processing muscle also means you can even network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun off of one shared cartridge. Only two Game Boy Color units could link together, and each unit had to have its own copy of the game.

What's not being replaced, however, is the wide selection of Game Boy games. Because the Game Boy Advance system is backward-compatible, it will play its own line of colorful games--including such launch titles as Super Mario Advance, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Army Men Advance, High Heat Major League Baseball 2002, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2--as well as all of the monochrome and color games that have already been released for the previous Game Boy systems (nearly 500 in total). Players can view the older games in their smaller, originally square dimensions, or, with the touch of the shoulder button, expand the game to fit the GBA's larger screen. We tried enlarging the screen on a Game Boy Color edition of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and found that Mr. Hawk was much easier to see.

When you first pick up the system, you'll be amazed at how lightweight it is. At fewer than 5 ounces and a little larger than a deck of playing cards, the system easily fits into a shirt pocket without any sag. The GBA's wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands. The former design too often pushed the left and right thumb knuckles together during gameplay. The new layout should be comfortable for all ages, and the center screen orientation makes it easy to see.

Game Boy Color owners will find the GBA's larger screen somewhat darker than they're used to, but that's because the screen is outfitted with antiglare technology. Like the old Game Boy Color, the color LCD is not backlit, so you need pretty good light to play by. Unlike that system, though, you won't be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the hot-spot reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

But you'll also notice the graphics. Sporting what's basically a redesigned SNES technology, you'll see things on the GBA that the big consoles do, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects--technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to throwing a touchdown pass to crawling through a dungeon.

Some might argue that Nintendo could have tried to put even more power into this Game Boy Advance. After all, the 32-bit video game had its heyday more than five years ago. Perhaps, but after handling this new handheld, we're inclined to think that Nintendo wisely struck a balance between size, price, and power consumption. And considering how well the old 8-bit system weathered the decade's technological storms, we think the Game Boy Advance is here to stay, and we're glad. --Porter B. Hall

                    Awesome for me
Well, this color is popular, and so is the system. It consists of 6 buttons and 1 D pad. Start, Select, A, B, L, and R. This game console allows you to also play GBA, GB, and GBC games. You can use a gameboy or gameboy color gameshark with this. Since you can stretch the games picture from GB or GBC, it is perfect. A con though is the screen, it can easily be scratched, but I heard you can buy another [inexpensively] on a website by credit card or mail order. The games for this system does really well, half the size of a GB or GBC game. 4 megabytes of fun for the people, a lot more than the others (GBA is 32 megabits, divide it by 8 and get 4 megabytes). The batteries last longer, but the wormlight would leave a glare (a light, of course). I would probably get the new lightshield since it uses it own batteries (2 AAA batteries) which can lasts up to 20 hrs. It also protects the screen too. From what I learned, this GBA is the size of a GBC (cool eh?), can fit in any GBC carrying case. Press L to stretch the screen of a GB or GBC game, R to default (it starts in default anyways). Just take extra care of the GBA ok? Be very careful abou the screen too.

The Game Boy Color was a joke, this is the real next step.
I've had this GBA for a few years now, and I'm glad I got it. Though you are better off getting the SP model since it has a backlit screen and rechargeable battery, this basic model is nice too. It runs on 2 AA batteries, and doesn't drain them (regardless of brand) as bad as the Game Boy Color did.

What you're getting is basically a handheld SNES/PSone. The GBA has mighty fine graphics for such a tiny system, just check out Iridon 3D. It's a terrible game, but has fantastic graphics (especially for a launch title). And the widescreen helps in some cases. When playing GB/GBC games on it, just tap the 'L' button and you'll go from fullscreen to widescreen. But a really cool feature is that all GBA games are compatible with all GBA systems. You can import x game from x country, and it'll play on your system. Go buy the Japanese release of Bubble Bobble for it and go nuts.

There are a lot of good games you should go for:

                    -Sonic Advance 1-3
                    -Super Mario Bros. Advance 1-4
                    -Metroid Fusion
                    -MegaMan Zero
                    -Donkey Kong Country
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
                    -Breath of Fire 1+2
                    -Advance Wars
                    -any of the Pokemon games
                    -Boktai
                    -Wario Ware
-Golden Sun (only for rpg virgins though. Read my review of that for the full story)
                    -Klonoa: Empire of Dreams
                    -Spyro the Dragon
                    -Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
                    -MegaMan and Bass
-MegaMan Anniversary Collection (all the old GB MegaMan games)
                    -Mario Kart Super Circuit
                    -any of the 3 Castlevanias

The reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because most of the "must have" games are just ports from other systems. All the Marios, Zeldas, Donkey Kong Country, etc. have been done before. The GBA needs more exclusive games that are of the same quality as the ones I mentioned. Mario & Donkey Kong doesn't really set the standard for what Nintendo was once known for.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this nifty little system. Anyone who knows anything about gaming knows that the Game Boy incarnations have always done well and provided countless hours of entertainment. But you could do a heck of a lot worse than a pink GBA. Though for some reason, Amazon doesn't seem to have any in stock. Is it discontinued now? Oh well, you're bound to find pleanty at just about any store that carries gaming goods.

I like playing my gameboy advance but not in the dark because it is too hard to see. Some gameboy advance have extra lights on them. You should get the extra light! Playing Ninja Turtles is awesome on gmaeboy advance!
