A great upgrade over 2003, but worth another $...
Last Year NCAA 2003, consumed my life for well over 300+ hrs. I even played it more then Madden 2003(gasp!). But could EA sports top themselves yet again?
The answer is a resounding YES!
Nearly every aspect of last years effort has been improved, from the play-books (a huge improvement) and the # of playable teams. The biggest improvements come in the Dynasty mode, a great feature that allows you control every aspect of your team season after season. The main improvement is the addition of the sports illustrated covers, the recap the week's previous action. I swear half the fun is seeing if your team made any print.
Graphically the game make a few minor leaps in quality, more animations, and improved stadiums, but no earth-shaking changes are found.
Sound, always top notch in the series, receives a few tweaks that compliment and already stellar package. The voice over commentary is still good, but not great. I would like to hear more situational commentary then the general banter that comes from the announcers on a regular basis, but it still stands above the rest of the pack.
Gameplay is as tight as ever with a minor adjustments, on both offense and defense.
When it comes to the presentation, what was great last year, borders on just good this year. Sure a few touches where added here and there (locker room exits, cheerleaders with flags, canons etc.), but I was hoping that more improvements would have been added to heighten the atmosphere.
So are there enough upgrades to warrant another $...?????
Yes, I have to say so. This game is still light years ahead of the competition, but I hope EA doesn't get comfortable.
This game is a five star game, but in the end more upgrades should have been added so I have to pull one star from this great title.
FINAL VERDICT: 4 STARS ****, but if you purchase this game (and I do recommend it!), say good-bye to your life for awhile

KickA** Game!
Ok, here's the scoop;People rave about this game, and they're right to do so. I'm only gonna say that the features and graphics of this game rock, and the players are more interactive than in madden '04. Allright, so here are the pros and cons:

Pros

1. Graphics are beautiful-I won't talk, i'll just let your imagination do the work.
2. Trick plays terrific
3. You have to be a true gamer to beat this right away-precise skill and timing required. I got the game the weekend after Halloween, and i've played it somewhere between 7-8 hours.
4. Ok, with all the teams, and rivalry games, you always feel as if you are a part of it all
5. Offseason-Sweeeet... You send your coaches to talk to potential recruits, and you make your pitch: Location, Program's prestige, etc.

Ok-I think I covered everything good

Cons

1. load & save times are a little long-not too bad
2. If you've played madden '04, then you know what i'm talking about when i say that ncaa '04's create a team isn't that great in comparison. The make a stadium shtick isn't the best, but you'll have some fun anyway

Ok, I think i found something to complain about, but that's about it. So in conclusion, this game is awesome, and if you have free time, i'm sure you'll spend it in front of the tube, playing this game.

Best College Football Game I've Played
This game is so addictive. During the college football season I was playing this every day. In fact, I got through 10 seasons worth of my Ohio State Buckeyes dynasty. It takes some time to learn all of the nuances and get good enough to climb up the difficulty levels (there are 4). Precise timing and solid execution of the plays is critical at the higher levels. Also required is smart playcalling. In other words, you can't be good at this game if you don't know football stratgey at least fairly well. That's a good thing.

The graphics are up to the high level that current EA titles should be. The plays and moves actually develop and look like they would in real life for the most part. The controls are just right but will take a while to get used to and you'll find the moves that you'll rely on before too long. Similarly you will find the plays and formations that work best for you after a few games. This will vary by team depending what each team is good at.

What surprised me most was the offseason. Sometimes I actually preferred the recruiting to the hunt for the national title. It felt good to try to reload the squad every year. There is also a correlation between how well you play and how many players ditch you for the NFL. The more you dominate, the more spots you will have to fill each year as key players jump.

All in all, a very fun game that is the best simulation-style to date for NCAA football.

Dynasty Warriors 4
Made by KOEI
Age Group: 12 years and up

    Used price: $19.99

There's no logical reason the Dynasty Warriors series has such a devoted fan base. The makers have mined the same plot for four installments, based on the same few heroic tales of ancient China. The dialogue is as stilted as ever, and no real surprises unfold. But think of the zealotry people have for goofy, unrealistic kung fu flicks, and you'll start to see Dynasty Warriors' lasting appeal.

If you've never touched an earlier version of the game, here's what to know: Dynasty Warriors is a fighting game series played from the third-person perspective, where you pick a military general as your avatar and fight through across sprawling battlefields. The generals all have distinct personalities, and there are a few women characters included, too. As you campaign, you collect special items--such as the Dragon Amulet, which increases your Musou gauge (Musou allows you to enact special, prolonged attacks on multiple enemies.) You have bodyguards, you kill enemy generals, and along the way your new skill points increase your weapon's power.

With DW4, there are many new additions, only some of which are successful. Charge attacks and items are souped up and truly improved. For example, equipping a magic orb can cause you to freeze enemies in a block of ice. You can edit characters, but with so many good preset ones to choose from, chances are you won't spend a lot of time working on your own. In addition to a better game engine, there's also the option of one-on-one-duels. The maps are immense compared to previous editions, with a lot more variance in what can happen by the end of your mission.

Even with a significant number of new features, it's debatable whether Dynasty Warriors 4 is a true overhaul, or just another release to cash in on the massive popularity of the franchise. Regardless, it's addictive for reasons that almost defy explanation. You just want to clear this act, to get to the next stage, and to reveal the goodies you've received from killing that big boss. It's as simple as that. And at the moment when you can knock down an entire platoon with a couple hits, well, then you'll join the ranks of the dedicated. --Jennifer Buckendorff

    Pros:

    • Many more (and much improved) maps
    • Complex and compelling charge attack functions
    • Improved fighting AI makes enemies noticeably trickier

    Cons:

    • "Siege engine" function mostly a novelty
    • Still tedious retracing of steps, even with speed boots
    • Disappointing officer customization

    WAY better than number 3
Honestly, you'd think that Dynasty Warriors was done after number 3. For those who are complaining that its "the same thing" I certainly hope you don't play Resident Evil or Mega Man X series because they're kinda the same too.

Even to those who've played number 3 this is worth a try. There are now over 50 levels and several new characters to behold. Weapons are now more innovative and body guards do more than just get [killed], they actually...well, body guard.

Also, you can now edit and create your own character and body guards. Of course this brings alot more to the gameplay. Also, the music is different, but in my eyes isn't that much better.
The storyline and gameplay haven't changed at all, but the difficulty is really elevated.

The next thing to note is the sudden increase in levels. Where as Dynasty warriors 3 had 22 levels, this one has over 50. Thats 18+ new levels. Also, for each force it has more of a story or "Acts" as they're called in the game. The missions are about more than just finding the main person and killing them this time. Some require you to find a specific item (such as one where you must find the Imperial Seal) and if the enemy finds it you must stop there escape.

This is actually a lot better. Sure, its the same gameplay, but each new Dynasty Warriors game is most an expansion of the previous one anyway, they're just supposed to ADD more. No one said you had to buy the next one over and over again. By now, you should expect it to be more of the same thing, thus we don't have much of a right to complain...

Anyway, weapons are different as well. Now, you must gain experience by defeating and scoring combos on Generals. Not to mention that as a result, it teaches you to be more greedy with your KO's (and we really should be). You're body guards rise in level as well.

Also, another new addition is more things to do in the challenge mode and Versus mode. There is a new challenge mode that sees how many you can knock off a bridge and a new time attack mode. The Versus Mode has been extended as well. Now, you can duel with your friend one on one whenever you want. Speaking of duels, generals still have the same boring intro, but this time you'll be asked to a dual. The downside is that if you don't duel the entire force morale goes down and so you feel as if you're forced. Dueling with one general is like your basic fighter (but you can't jump), you're given a set basic time limit to end the duel. Its complete one on one and it works well. You get about 45 seconds which is more than enough time.

There are plenty of new additions but I'm currently still exploring the game for myself, I shall post another review later on.

But for me to keep going. You still have the same items, but they too, level up. Some are better than others, as usual, but they're easier to organize. The series has a small RPG like role in which you equip only certain parts of your characters. Not as free as in DW3, but it works none the less and brings the difficulty up.

But some of the bad. The same glitches from DW3 and DW2 are still there. The ones where the enemies disappear and "pop up" like they did in the previous installments. Also, in the beginning its VERY hard because some Generals can take you out in ONE combo.

    THE GOOD

    +Plenty of updates
    +New Levels and characters
    +Innovative weapons and items system
    +More difficulty
    +Good sound
    +Smoother graphics
    +Same easy controls
    +Eidt Generals and Bodyguards!

    THE BAD

-It still has those glitches (Random enemies pop up out of nowhere or aren't where they indicate on the radar)
-Same gameplay (I know I said not to complain but since some are gonna want to know)
-The new "General Duels" are somewhat forced upon you
-The one on one in VS. Mode is boring

BIG step up for the series
I've been playing this game for two days, and have only seen about a third of the levels (and probably less than half of the events on those levels), and all I can say is WOW!
Having read ROTK and played DW2, DW3, and DW:FW, I'm simply amazed by the amount of detail that went into this game. While DW2 and DW3 did a good job of portraying the conflicts, DW4 does that PLUS telling the story and getting into the details of the conflicts. The saving of the infant Liu Feng in the blaze of battle; the cowardly burning of the capital by Dong Zhuo; the treachery of Yuan Shu at Hu Lao (which was only touched on in DW3); it's all there.
Story-telling is MUCH stronger in this game. Instead of a single battle against the Yellow Scarves (for example), there are three, and they're tied together logically. Additionally, the mid-battle one-on-one Duels add a LOT of the original cinematic/dramatic flavor of the novels.
If you're a ROTK fan and you've played all of Koei's games, remember the difference of the experience in Kessen II to Dynasty Tactics? It's about the same going from DW3 to DW4.
If you're been playing the DW series all along, I'm sure you've already got and love this game. If, on the other hand, you've been a casual player, this is one you should not miss.

    Fantastic!
This is by far the best addition to the Dynasty Warriors series to date. Dynasty Warriors 4 has more characters, more levels, enhanced gameplay and graphics, improved artificial intelligence, and in fact, is better than its predecessors in every single way.

Musou mode has been replaced by Kingdom mode, which is basically the same thing, except you can change characters within a kingdom at any time of your choosing. Also, you can play as part of the kingdoms of Yuan Shao, Dong Zhuo, Meng Huo, or Lu Bu.

The weapons system is much better than before. You can build up weapons, and get level five weapons, which are incredibly powerful. There are three new characters, one per each kingdom. Among them is one of my personal favorites, Zhou Tai. There are more levels then ever before, each level is revamped, and due to a new AI system, each stage is slightly different everytime you play it.

The create a warrior (CAW) still needs some work. You are very limited in what you can do, appearance, weapon and movement-wise, and at this point, the CAW really isnt worth your time. There is a nice compendium of information on all the officers, even the nonplayable ones.

Interestling, two characters are missing in Dynasty Warriors 4 from Dynasty Warriors 3. The mythological characters Nu Wa and Fu Xi. While neither, even mythologically, existed in this time period, they were still interesting additions, and we're the only characters to use a rapier and claymore, respectively.

This game is simply fantastic, and is highly addictive. If you are going to by any Dynasty Warriors game, make it this one, because it is by far the best of the series.

    Great, but with flaws
I've always wanted to play Game Boy Advance games, but have shyed away from buying the handhelds themselves. While I had fun with my Game Boy and Game Boy Color, I eventually began to neglect them and only bring them out on long car journeys (that's not very often for me). The Game Boy Advance is great, but I have pretty big hands so it hurt to play for a long time (and the GBA also has the whole screen-being-too-dark problem, I didn't wanna pay to have it modified). The GBA SP corrects the screen problem, but makes my cramped hands problem even worse.

The Game Boy Player fixes both of these problems. Now I can enjoy titles such as Sonic Advance and Warioland on the big screen. The software does a great job of stretching the low-resolution GBA image without making it look too bad (it's obviously gonna look a little blocky). Also included are some smoothing/blurring options (to simulate the low refresh rate of the actual GBA's screen).

Now for the flaws. First up is the standard GameCube controller. Playing GBA games on this is not fun. The D-pad is too small and the analog stick - forget it, that's more frustrating than it is fun. In Japan Nintendo and a 3rd party company named HORI released a SNES-style pad for your GameCube that's great for the Game Boy Player (and also for Viewtiful Joe). I can't tell you where to get this in this review since Amazon don't sell it but search around some Hong Kong websites and you'll be able to buy one. You can also control the action with a real Game Boy Advance or GBA SP linked to the GameCube, but that defeats the point somewhat.

Another gripe I have is with the boot disc. You need to load this up every time you wanna play a GBA game, if you ask me Nintendo should have had the software inside the actual GB Player and made some way to switch between GBP and GameCube mode with a switch or something. The software on the disc isn't so great either - there is no way at all to remove the annoying "Z Button - Options" message at the top-right of the screen.

Still, the overall package is hardly bad - in fact, it's great to finally play all these games on a big screen without cramped hands and neck strain. It's a pity that the software on the boot disc is good rather than great.

Gamecube/Game Boy Player = Perfect Combination
I've been playing with the Game Boy Player since it's March release in Japan. If you have any interest in some of the awesome Game Boy Advance games and don't own a Game Boy Advance system already, this is a must buy. If you already own a Game Boy Advance and a Gamecube, this is also a must buy and here's why.

With the GB Player you're able to play multiplayer games using your existing GBA system. Since the GB Player includes a GBA link port all you need is a game that supports multiplayer and a GBA link cable. Once hooked up, one player can use the TV screen and the other is able to use the GBA system.

I've been playing The Link to the Past: Four Swords like this since having the GB Player with my daughter and it's awesome! She plays on the TV screen and I play on the connected GBA system.

For the price of one single Gamecube game you now have the chance to play more than 1,000 Game Boy games on your TV. A must buy for any Nintendo fan.

    Well-Designed Addition to Gamecube
(By adaptor, I mean Game Boy Player)

This adaptor plugs into the bottom of your Gamecube (there are about three removable panels underneath) -- the cube sits on top of the "slab". To use the adaptor, you put a special CD into the gamecube (comes with the adaptor) and insert cartridges into the front of the adaptor.

The adaptor will play either GBA or "old" gameboy games. The buttons map cleanly between the controller and the GBA (the X/Y button on the gamecube serves as the select button on the GBA).

The adaptor also includes a gamelink port which is compatible with both the new GBA link cable (for GBA games) and the old Gameboy Color cable (for games like Pokemon Gold).

These are "drawbacks", but I think these are extremely minor:
The adaptor does not have an infrared port (neither does a GBA).
The adaptor does not allow you to use the tilt feature.
The rumble device on your controller does not function.

You do not need a Gameboy Advance to use this adaptor (just a GameCube).

You can use the eCard Reader with the Adaptor.

For multiplayer games, the adaptor serves as a single Gameboy unit, but it does not offer any new functionality. This means that if you have a 4 player GBA game, you will still need 4 GBAs to play with all 4 players -- you cannot each just play with a controller on your Gamecube.

There is not a way to save GBA information on GameCube memory cards.

Since a TV screen and a GameBoy have slightly different sized screens, the adaptor (by way of the CD that comes with it) allows you to choose different color borders and graphics quality options.

If you are giving this as a gift in a vacation setting where you might not have all the tools you'd have at home, make sure that you have a slotted screwdriver (needed to secure the adaptor during installation).

      SO SO
THIS GAME IS HARD to control ( the characters ) and the music stinks and its a little boring but its cool because you can play as over 100 skaters including wolverine, Darth Maul, Kelly Slater, and a lot more!

      Fun=Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
I have played THPS3 (along with the other two) and have concluded that it is a great game with a couple bad points:
Some bad points are that the gameplay is easy & repeatitive, which makes it a typical rental game; some modes are frustating (such as the park editor) for control reasons; and sometimes the blood effects go a bit too far (once you see your skater being dragged down a half pipe with a HUGE trail of blood marking where he or she bailed, you'll know what I mean).
Still, THPS3 has many delightful features. Civilians minding their own business in levels like Los Angeles give the game a more realistic feel; the soundtrack is much better than the last one with more recognizable artists; the create-a-skater and park editor features have more options; there are a lot more levels (which are much bigger & better); and the characters (including the 5+ secret ones) are much more detailed and realistic. Also, the objectives in career mode are very fun, unique, and creative.
In conclusion, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is a must-buy if you don't mind its cons.

As Always Tony Hawk = 5 Star Purchase
There's just no getting around it these days. Any of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games and especially this last installment deserve your money and attention NOW! For those of you new to the concept crawl out from the rock you've been hiding under for the past 3+ years! For those familiar with the platform here's what's new: new tricks, special tricks, more skaters, better more skatable environments, a park editor that lets you create your own park, harder more challenging goals. There are also some cool hidden characters like DARTH MAUL, WOLVERINE, OFFICER DICK, etc. This is definitely a game that will keep you occupied for a long period of time (unless you use the cheats) and always fun to play no matter how many times you've solved it. All of these things= best game on Gamecube system so far! Buy it now!

        Yes!
If you have another, sell it and buy this (Unless, of course, you have the 1019). I have the 59, and it fills up way too fast. Third-party companies DO NOT completely understand how memory is stored, so it will get corrupted. Buy this.

You a gamblin' person? Buy a 3rd party accessory.
Listen, you're putting your save games on this thing right? You've spent hours unlocking the secret characters, stages, cars, etc., why risk putting it on a 3rd party accesory? Like other reviewers have mentioned, always buy Nintendo the accessories with the Nintendo seal of approval. I have stories about how 3rd party hardware not only broke itself, but broke my console. 3rd party stuff may be cheaper but hey, you get what you pay for (its not THAT much cheaper anyway). Anyway, to the product...

I Own 3 games for GameCube: Pikmin, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Eternal Darknes; Sanity's Requiem, I've rented many others, and more games are coming out, so of course I have alot of save games. I have two memory card 59s, and they're full. The memory card 251 is the second best GameCube accessory to get (behind more controllers of course). Before you go buying a WaveBird, buy the 251 memory card (the WaveBirds are a tad pricey if you ask me, this is a much better value). To the reviewer who said, "who uses that much memory anyway?" People with more than 1 game do. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult you, but more games WILL come out, and its also nice to have the memory for screenshots and crash replays (Super Smash Bros. Melee and Burnout), and of course for extra saves (just in case your save yourself into a dead end).

Bottom line: for only 20 bucks, this is the best value accesory for the GameCube.

A definate MUST for any Gamecube owner
As you probably know, Gamecube does not have a hard drive so if you want to save your Gamecube games, then a memory card is a must! But, you probably already knew that.

This is so much better than Nintendo's first memory card, the Memory Card 59 because, obviously, at 251 blocks it's over four times bigger and that means more space to save your data and less memory cards to buy.

Right now I have five Gamecube games and plenty of space on my memory card. Keep in mind though that sports games usually can take up the most memory space.

I always buy first party memory cards because third party cards sometimes lose data. The third party cards that say they are several times bigger than a Nintendo 251 card are especially prone to data loss since they compress so much extra stored imformation on the memory card so something can easily go wrong.

I would say it is definately worth spending the few extra dollars to get the 251 card over the 59 because it's so much bigger and an overall better value.

Tactics in this game are poor!!
This game is just like the other FF games; boring, complicated, and unfair. You're forced to talk to people and they talk for a long time. It's complicated because you have to walk around and look for stuff. Why is it unfair? Because it has turn-based fighting. That automatically gives the enemy the advantage. NOBODY fights while taking turns in real life. This is supposed to be a videogame, not chess!! Turn-based fighting is obviously a piss-poor tactic. Play Sonic and Halo, both have good plots but none of that stereotypical RPG crap to put up with. Sonic is simple, race through maze-like levels while destroying robots that are your enslaved friends (it will set them free), and stop Dr. Robotnik's plans to destroy Mobius. Halo is simple, fight the genocidal alien force called the Covenant. All RPGs suck as a matter of fact. What's with all of the wizards, dragons, squires, trolls, and mages? What the hell is a mage? Anyway, FF sucks tremendously in general. Halo forever FF never!!

        Overhyped.
Few things (except maybe the movie Titanic) more define the term "overhyped" than Final Fantasy Tactics. Don't get me wrong, it'd an okay game. I'd take it over most games anyday. However, since it's an RPG that didn't get millions poured into advertising like the numbered Final Fantasies, it's left in a category with few competitors. Most of which I'm sad to say, blow FFT anyway. Lunar: Silver Star Story, Lunar: Eternal Blue, Xenogears, ect. run circles around it while walking on their heads. All 3 I mentioned above deserve 6 stars on a scale of 1 to 5, so definitely try them if you ever get the chance. One of FFT's biggest enemies is the fact that many long-term RPG fans make it out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's not. It IS better than a few of the named FFs (8 rings a bell... God that was awful..) but it's hardly as good as they make it out to be. It's greatest pro is that it requires more thinking than most games. It's fairly difficult at times, but it's a challenge for the brain not the thumbs. On the other side of the coin, I cannot describe to you how annoying it is to work up a character so that've mastered many classes only to have to choose between them and a storyline character that gets special commands but doesn't have the mastered classes in your party. This often leads to hours of horrible repetitiveness trying to re-master the classes on your new character. Furthermore, near the end of the game you get a storyline character that destroys any semblence of challenge in the game. He comes with the Excalibur, a powerful sword that gives constant haste to its wielder, and the spell 'Night Sword' that drains a large amount of HP from the enemy to you with NO wait and NO mp cost. It also has some somewhat disturbing relgious messages in it. Squaresoft makes no attempt to hide their apparent contempt for pretty much the entire Christian religion. I could go on further, but I'd be spoiling parts of the storyline. Just do yourself one favor; if you get this game, don't let the hype get you up thinking it's the greatest game ever made.

        final fantasy tactics
This is probably the most underrated game ever. Most places said it was good, but not great. I don't know about anyone else, but I do know that this is by far my favorite game for Playstation. The graphics are pretty much the best that the Playstation will ever get too. Most of the newer games like Final Fantasy IX would seem like the graphics are better, but they are just so ambitious that it just looks like crap. Tactics has crisp sprites on nice looking polygon setting, and some of the most amazing effects I've seen on any system. The battle system is very confusing at first, but after a few battles, it is like second nature. And let me tell you, this game is addictive. More than once have i been holed up in my room for days at a time playing this game non-stop. In conclusion, this is a fine game and I would recommend it to anyone without a short attention span.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the first third-person action-adventure game based on the international hit TV series. Players take on the role of Buffy Summers, a 17-year-old high-school student who must balance adolescent growing pains with the responsibility of being the Chosen One. As the slayer, Buffy eliminates vampires and other demonic creatures that threaten the world's existence. It's up to you to save the human race from being "drained" during this devilish time.

Fortunately, Buffy is not alone. Her friends help her solve mysteries and watch her back. Fans of the series will recognize the voices of favorite characters including Angel, Xander, Willow, Cordelia, Spike, the Master, and Giles.

Players fight a range of enemies including Spike, the Master, Drusilla, demons, zombies, and other supernatural creatures that threaten mankind. All of Buffy's favorite haunts are richly detailed: Sunnydale High School, the cemetery, the Bronze nightclub, and the library, which is the portal that sits atop the Hellmouth. Special supernatural effects such as morphing creatures, eldritch explosions, dynamic fogging, and arcane spell casting enhance the dark, mythical setting of the game. An intelligent combat system allows enemies to perform counterattacks and learn from character's fighting techniques.

          Buffy for Xbox
I'm a big fan of the Buffy TV show, so when I heard that a videogame based on the show was coming out, I had to get it. For the most part Buffy is a great action videogame. The combat and fighting portions of the game are clearly it's best strength. The cmobat engine is fun and unique and it's just a joy to beat down vampires and zombies with cool punch kick combos as well as a number of different weapons like stakes, shovels, and poles. The story of the game is alright, not great or anything, but decent for a videogame. It's not like you have to have seen Buffy before to understand the story either. The graphics and sound in the game are very good, particularly in the main characters models, you'll be amazed at how closely Buffy resembles Sarah Michelle Gellar and Willow, Alyson Hannigan. The developers really did a good job with the graphics. The sound is also very good, all the cast members of Buffy, except for SMG herself, do the voice work for the characters in the game, so that should be a treat for Buffy fans. So overall I'd recomend Buffy to anyone who enjoys a good action game with lots of combat and a decent challenge to it.

beyond excellent game to sink your fangs.... uh, teeth into
Buffy, The Vampire Slayer makes for the perfect surprise for anyone interested in nonstop action with a twist rather than just socking people in those fighter games. One of my avorite parts of this game is that the story never stops building, and the more you advance, the tougher things get (for instance, the wimpy vamp you fight in the first high school level won't seem so wimpy until you face the big uber-vamps in the foundry level. Plus all your favorite actors are there, like Xander, Willow, Giles, Cordy, Spike and Angel. But Buffy's voice is actually a fill-in (You'll tell when she says "Angel"). The most primitave way of killing anything in the game is to pitch a stake, but hey who wants to do that 24/7? That's why the game is loaded with surprises. My absolute favorite is kicking a vampire... and suddenly, he goes flying through the air. The crunch and the dusting that follows lets you know you've accidentaly chucked him onto an enviornmental stake (objects in your surroundings that you can impale things on). Plus there are many weapons. Rakes, shovels, mops, pool cues and my favorite, the reaper blade/wing that can be thrown for demon amputation. And if that isn't fancy enough, try chucking them into molten steel or in front of an on-coming train (now we're talkin!). Plus there are bosses, such as snake thingies, tiger freaks, The Master, Spike, and some sort of dead-raiser dude.Oh, can't forget Buffy's Hell-dimension counterpart! And BELIEVE me, that's not all that awaits. So what do ya say? Oh, just give it a try, just a try, for goodness sake. You won't regret it!

          Buffy at its best!!!!
This is by far a much better game than chaos bleeds. I have heard that the collective is working on a few new projects. I really hope one of them is a true sequal to Buffy. Buy this game it is worth every penny!!!

          Mozart Magic Cube
          Made by Munchkin
          Age Group: 6 months - 4 years
            Amazon base price: $34.99
Music stimulates the brain and encourages early learning skills. This interactive cube lets children choose from any combination of five different instruments--harp, French horn, piano, flute, and violin--to collaborate on eight Mozart tunes. A solo flute might play an excerpt from "Ah! Vous Dirai-je, Maman (Twinkle, Twinkle)," or a French horn intone a theme from The Marriage of Figaro. Other choices include "Country Dance #5," "Come Sweet May," "Der Vogelfanger" (from The Magic Flute), "March in D," "Landler," and "Là Ci Darem la Mano" (from Don Giovanni). Press the "orchestra" button and hear all the instruments play together. As the songs play, each selected instrument button flashes to the beat. The sound is not orchestral quality, but you get a fair electronic approximation of each instrument. Operates on three AA batteries (not included). --Tami Horiuchi

            fabulous for babies and toddlers
My daughter loved this toy when she was six months old, and still loves it at 18 months. I have had no durability issues, and when I noticed the instruments playing out of sync I replaced the batteries, which solved the problem. I love that she can select different instruments to listen to, and that it exposes her to more than the usual canned electronic baby music... she now has a love for instrumental music! This is a fantastic addition to her toybox.

            Great for the growing baby!
My son received this as a gift at Christmas. He was 3 mos at the time and it was a bit of a disappointment to the gift giver when he has no interest in it. However, by his 5th month... he was enthralled with it. The large buttons are easy for little hands to slap. The multiple songs are inspirational and enjoyment for both the parent and child. When played in dim room, my son loved the flashing lights.

My only negative comments are: I don't think a child below 5-6 mos is ready for the bright lights and sound (no volume control). It's great for music, but not as a "cause and effect" toy. The buttons are so easy to push, he'd set it off with his toes as he was holding it and didn't realize he was doing it.

I played with it for 10 minutes....
in the store. My husband wanted to look for baby toys and all I wanted to do was play with this cube. You can play the entire musical score or break it down into individual instruments. I can easily see this toy growing with the child, learning cause and effect (if I push this music comes out) to more sophisticated reasoning (if I push this I only hear one kind of instrument). Great for musically inclined parents and kids!

Good Game Hampered By Design Problems
I've always enjoyed the Sonic Games, and Sonic Adventure offers fast speed and action--for the Sonic levels, anyway. For the rest of the game, players will take control of platform-centered levels with Tails and Rose, treasure-hunting with Knuckles, shoot-em up levels with Gamma, and fishing (fishing? Yes, fishing,) with Big the Cat.

The Sonic levels are by far the most fun, but have a few minor problems; namely, the camera and some slight control issues. Sonic's homing attack sometimes gets out of hand, with Sonic floating aimlessly through the air as he looks for the enemy you told him to attack. When Sonic builds up enough speed on some of the faster levels (like Windy Valley or Speed Highway,) it's hard to control him, so he'll be bouncing off walls. It doesn't really slow his speed down, but it's kind of distracting all the same.

There's just not enough of the high-speed levels; playing as Tails is fun, but the Knuckles, Gamma, and Rose levels are mediocre, and the Big levels are a mess. Give a rental first, then buy.

A classic. One of the best games of all time.Period.
While all the old levels and characters are in this game there are a few new finishing touches to make the whole experience worthwhile. That would be the slightly repolished graphics and the unlockable Game Gear games.Of the 12 or so games I only unlocked 2.The first Sonic Game Gear game which is very nice and Sonic Drift which is pretty fun but has terrible controls. If you bought this game for the Game Gear games alone you shouldnt have. They are very very hard to unlock and its easier just to buy an old Game Gear and those games or just buy a Game Boy Player and play the Sonic Advance games.
As for the story it is pretty interesting not as good as the story in Sonic Adventure 2 but still pretty entertaining especially the parts about Gamma.
The camera angles really arent that bad.I mean there were only 2 times in the whole game where the camera looked uneven. The graphics look a little better but still pretty much the same. Its just as fun as the sequel and the levels are more original because this game is the original.Okay enough talk its time for you to run out and buy this.Thanks.

              Bursting with coolness.
There's a lot going on in this game and so many devices and sub-games to keep you addicted. Not so much a DX than an updated version of the Sonic Adventure, from the now obsolete Dreamcast, with better graphics, new missions and loads of extras.

You play the game as seven different characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big the Cat, The Robot Dude and (much later) Super Sonic. The Sonic, Tails and Knuckles levels are the best. The Big the Cat levels are really boring and slow. Each character has their own story and their own power-ups, all happening at the same time. The result is almost an RPG-like game. If this were taken a few steps further who knows how great the game could have been. Though it's still brilliant as it is.

The structure is also genius and easy to get to grips with. As whatever character, you run around massive levels like Station Square and The Mystic Ruins which leads to many different action stages. The action stages can range between casinos, snowboarding, racing through sky-high circuits, go-carting, flying around in Tails' red bi-plane, flying through wind tunnels, chases across the city rooftops and racing across sandy beaches. As always the Sonic world (curiously earthlike and nothing like the planet Mobius from before) is absolutely gorgeous with an exotic feel, eternal sunshine and the bluest of skies.

What I like best about the game are the Chao. The cute little creatures you hatch and raise between levels. They are so great they became my reason for getting through the game. And as a bonus all Sonic games from the old Sega Game Gear are included. Each one is unlocked after every 20 emblems collected (1 awarded after each mission complete and others scattered about levels).

Some parts of the game can be awfully repetitive. Certain FMV sequences were used more than once and there was no point in that. And intros to certain parts of the game took too long and became quite annoying when losing a life and starting again.

The self-controlled camera was cool and useful. Though in cramped quarters it seemed to get stuck and being unable to see the character due to the spasming camera sometimes resulted in the loss of a life. That was quite annoying.

The music is great and I strongly suggest you get all the soundtrack CDs (I did). There are brilliant, fun-loving themes that totally carry the action along. The voices however, were a bit off from the original Japanese lip movements.

A totally brilliant game that you simply must get. Sonic Adventure DX will keep you entertained for ages.

Kirby, that pink puffy resident hero of Dream Land, embarks on another adventure to save his neighbors from King Dedede, who has interrupted everyone's peaceful dreams. Kirby must collect the scattered pieces of the Star Rod and restore the Fountain of Dreams. How's he going to do this? By copying the bad guys' best moves and eating--yes, eating--them and their weapons. One copy of the game supports up to four players (via the separately sold Game Link Cable) with special mini games, but if there's a copy of the game in Game Boy Advance, players can play cooperatively through the game.

fun game but doesnt last long
Yes this game is very fun i got it yesterday and i alrdy beat it so if u play gameboy advance alot i wouldn't suggest this game u will beat it within hours.

                snoring away in dreamland
One of the first games I ever beat was Kirby's Dreamland on my original old gray Gameboy. In fact, it might have been second after Super Mario Land. I loved it, and play it to this day mostly to see how quickly I can beat it.

The "new" Gameboy Advance game, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of the NES Kirby game from 1993. It's pretty much a straight forward port of the original game, with some extra mini-games thrown in. Now, I never had an NES and although I've played Kirby on some emulators, I never beat it. So imagine my disappointment when I bought Nightmare in Dreamland Thursday afternoon, and by the next night had beaten it completely. It took about an hour and a half.

All the regular Kirby functions are there, his famous suck the enemies in and spit them out or absorb their abilities, etc, but there's nothing new and the game is far too easy and straight forward. I only died a few times before the final boss, and each time was out of pure laziness. The enemies present no real challenge, and the bosses are easy to figure out.

The graphics and sound of the game are nice and fun and what one expects from Kirby, and on the outside it seems like it would be a longer game. But it's not-the levels are very short, and I didn't find the mini-games interesting enough to play them very much. There are some levels where you can practically float through the entire thing without ever fighting an enemy.

The game itself is enjoyable, and very much fun to play, but once you've beat it there's really no point in playing it again. There is nothing new to find, really unless you feel like unlocking all the mini-games, and your big reward for beating the whole thing is yet another unlocked mini-game. It's still a Kirby game, and has all the charm of a Kirby game, but if you've played either of the Gameboy games or the original NES there is not a real reason to pick up Nightmare in Dreamland.

                This game is AWESOME!
The world's coolest pink ball is back with all new copy abilities, bosses, warp stars, and tons more! This game is awesome! Even though it doesn't take long to beat the game, you can play it a zillion times! Kirby lives higher than my expectations though the name sounded kinda wierd when I first heard it. That won't matter after you've played the game. Its way different from Kirby: The Crystal Shards because if you get hit, you lose your power and there's no combos. You can also float forever. One of the copy abilities is kinda dumb its called sleep. But that's the only one. The others like laser, UFO, and needle are cool.
Multiplayer is also awesome. You can fight bosses and everybody with your friends. The sub-games are pretty cool, but when you beat the game, you get the coolest sub-game.

10/10 - Graphics: they can't make it better.
                10/10 - Gameplay: cool storyline.
9/10 - Bosses: the bosses are pretty easy until you get to
                DeDeDe and the nightmares.
9/10 - Duration: doesn't last long (even thought there are 8
levels) but you can keep on playing over and over and...
                you get the idea
10/10 - Control: easy to control
10/10 - Overall: definetly one of the coolest game for GBA; a
                must have for EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
