Nice Game, but just a little hard
I got this game with a multipack and it rocks!!! But just kind of a little hard but I like it.

    Love, love, love this game...
I was introduced to this game while helping out in an elementary school computer class (yeah, I'm technically a grown-up). It's an engaging way to teach logic skills, and the puzzles are a lot of fun. I agree that there are a LOT of Zoombinis to save (the purpose of the game)and that once you've mastered the higher levels it's a bit tedious to keep playing the harder versions of the puzzles, especially if there are any you don't like to begin with.

On the other hand, this game is wonderful for a variety of age groups (some of the younger kids may need some help figuring out the logic behind the puzzles), for different ethnicities (the Zoombinis are blue), and genders (most of the characters are somewhat ambiguous on gender, and the Zoombinis are all equal). I've seen it played solo, and in groups, with equally enjoyable results. And there are a number of resources available for educators, parents, etc. to help your kids make meaning from the games they are playing.

All in all, this is a must for any elementary/middle school computer educator, and a highly recommended for parents who want their kids to use computers as a tool as well as a toy.

    Zoombini Logical Journey
This extraordinary entertaining software filled with logic puzzles makes students use their critical and math thinking skills without the use of numbers or math operations. I liked the fact that students can receive excellent practice with recognizing patterns, forming and testing hypotheses, analyzing data, comparison, and etc. This software program is relatively free of stereotypes and bias because the Zoombinis are not like people but tiny, delightful, blue characters each with its own characteristics and are created by the students using this program. Each of the four levels becomes more challenging as students move through the puzzling program. The solutions to the puzzles are different every time the program is used which makes students wanting to play this program again and again. The students do not realize that they are using their critical and math thinking skills when solving these puzzles. The challenging puzzles are visually and mentally captivating and extremely fun to do. Even my adult basic education students are challenged figuring out how to solve the puzzles!

Infogrames has improved upon an already excellent franchise with Backyard Baseball 2003. We hope this software doesn't become a victim of its own success: the Backyard Kids are getting so good, it's only a matter of time before they start demanding astronomical salaries and brand-new stadiums.

The pace, strategy, and statistics involved in baseball make it a sport that translates easily to the computer screen. In Backyard Baseball, players can play pickup games, launch a tournament, have batting practice, or just watch the computer play its own game. Options are initially overwhelming, but add longevity to the game as well. Twelve different game fields each exert their own unique influence over play--balls bounce crazily on the gravel lot, while homers are rare in the fenceless field. Games can be tweaked to add errors or include a visible strike zone; even field chatter can be added or eliminated. A wide selection of hits, pitches, and stance possibilities at the plate keep players strategizing, while the occasional power-up or wild pitch serves as a reminder of baseball's unpredictability.

The creative team outdid themselves with character development in this software. The Backyard Kids are quirky and three-dimensional--the research done on the real players was exemplary as well. For example, did you know Randy Johnson of the Arizona Diamondbacks listens to Rush in his spare time? Go figure.

Backyard Baseball 2003 will keep both young and old baseball fans engaged for a good long time. Consider it a way to fill that long wintry gap between baseball seasons. (Ages 7 and older) --Anne Erickson

BEST! Baseball PC Game THIS YEAR!!!
I gave Backyard Baseball 2003 a 5\5 stars grade because it's easy to play, you can pick your team and best of all there are made up backyard kids of different skill levels and to add to that there are kid versions of Major League Baseball players based on their actual skills. Each player has skills based on a scale from 1 to ten on batting, running ,pitching, and fielding. It's sad that there's no more Tony Gwynn,Mark McGwire,or Cal Ripken Jr but I understand because they're all retired. I think this game is better than High Heat 2003. I would rate HH2003 3/5 stars because it's hard to play and the Minor League players aren't even real. I highly recommend this game over HH2003. I also recommend this game for any sports fan!

BBY 2003 is a whole lot better than BBY 2001. Get the picture?
BBY 2003 has rad new sounds like the swings, connections with
the bat & ball etc. New people are doing voices for Vinny, Sunny
and the players. A dissapointment in BBY 2003 is a loss of 3
all-stars: Mark Mcgwire, Mo Vaghn and Cal Ripken Jr. Mac was always avalible for some reason. He was a guy I counted on all
the time. Hit Dog was usually 3rd in the batting order so we could get a man on for Sosa or Mcgwire at cleanup to knock it out of the park. Albert Puljos has replaced Mark Mcgwire for his powerhouse hitting and a Gold Glove kind of guy. Greg Vaghn of the D'Rays has replaced his cousin Mo but Greg will never be as good as the Hit Dog. Jeff Conine has replaced Cal Ripken with a 3000 hit aditude and super at 3rd. Ichiro is just amazing in the outfield, basepath and the plate. BBY 2003 is a "mom can I get this?" kind of game.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
        Made by Electronic Arts

          List price: $14.99 (that's NaN% off!)

Sticking firm to the old "if it ain't broke" philosophy, Westwood Studios conjures up memories of the original Command & Conquer games with Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. The game is set just a few years after the events of the original C&C: Red Alert, and opens with a surprise Soviet invasion of the U.S. mainland. Playing as the startled Americans, you must cobble together a resistance and beat the invaders back into the sea. Playing as the Soviets, you must quickly establish control of your new domain, wiping out all opposition you meet.

Red Alert 2 is very similar to the original Red Alert, with some visual enhancements and gameplay improvements brought in from the recent Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun game. You still lead a small group of infantry and armored units in most missions and you still have to assemble a base of operations in order to accomplish just about anything. This time around, however, you'll have a slew of new units to build and command in the field--most of which are pretty slick. The American Prism Tank, for example, can take out numerous enemy units with a single, branching attack. On the Soviet side, Tesla Troopers and Psychics help make ground troops a formidable asset.

Another nice addition to the game is the ability to garrison troops inside buildings. Because much of the fighting is on city streets, it helps to give your troops some cover from time to time. Also, there are a number of special buildings that provide unique advantages once occupied by engineer units. The airport allows you to call in air strikes, for example, while oil derricks provide a resource boost for your war machine.

Multiplayer support is still the calling card of this series, and fans of past C&C games will not be disappointed by Red Alert 2's multiplayer options. The basic free-for-all mode that the original Red Alert made famous is still intact, but the alternative multiplayer modes are the real treat. In Unholy Alliance, players get access to both American and Soviet tech trees, while the naval war variant starts each player off on a small island. In addition, the game includes special cooperative campaigns.

There's no denying Red Alert 2's charm, despite the lack of a funky 3-D engine and the game's reliance on ultracheeseball video cut scenes to tell the story (Kari Wuhrer or no Kari Wuhrer). For fast- paced, real-time strategy action that focuses on quick, intense firefights on American soil, no other game holds a candle to C&C: Red Alert 2. --Michael Ryan

          Pros:

          • More frenetic real-time strategy in the C&C universe
          • Tons of new units and capabilities on both sides of the conflict
          • Cool U.S. settings for most missions
          • Great array of multiplayer modes
          Cons:
          • Not exactly a technical leap forward
          • Video cut scenes are cheesy beyond description
          Average review score:

Great real time strategy game, but...
Red Alert 2 is a great real time strategy game. There are two different people to play as, the US and Russia. The game is set slightly in the future, with realistic technology. Some of the missions take a long time to do, since Westwood didn't add a cheat engine to the game. However, the greatest downfall of this game is that it has no map editor. The possibilities of this game are not as great as other real time strategy games, especially those made by Blizzard. This game is one of my favorites, but after comparing to other games, it gets points taken off.

          A great, action packed thrill!
I've never played any of the original Command and Conquer games before, but picked up a copy of Red Alert 2 due to good remarks from gamers. Even on my dull computer:An Activa K6-2 500 MhZ, 152 RAM, and a Voodoo 4 PCI video card that never seems to run good, the game was smooth, with very little slow down, even with hundreds of units on screen. Speaking of units, both the Allies and Russians are well balanced, with one unit beating out the others and so forth. The campaigns are fun and a great challenge, but the cut scenes in between missions is laughable.
Overall, this game is a great buy, and one hell of a blast.

Definitely One of the Best Strategy Games
This is an extremely fun game. You should buy it. Now for my oft dreaded review:
GRAPHICS: Nothing special, but not terrible. Units are colorful and easy to tell apart. Some people may not like the "cartoony" look absent from previous C&C games. The scale isn't great(a Grizzly Light Tank is half the size of a baseball stadium)but it's still better then, for instance, StarCraft.
Landscape: Pretty good overall. Water and trees could use some work.
          Textures: Uhhhh...
          Shadows: Awful.
Effects: Explosions aren't great, but the fire is OK.
          GRAPHICS OVERALL: 5.5

GAMEPLAY: Excellent. Very addictive and easy to get into. Only problem: missions are just too easy.
          GAMEPLAY OVERALL: 8.5

SOUND: Pretty good. A lot of music tracks BUT- half the units say the same thing.
          SOUND OVERALL: 6.5

          CREATIVITY: Well...
          CREATIVITY OVERALL: 2.5

          GAME OVERALL: 9.0
          Actually I'm 13. Sorry, amazon.com

WarCraft II isn't exactly the freshest real-time strategy game on the market, but that doesn't mean it's any less fun than it used to be. For those of you who missed it the first time around, WarCraft II is set in a fantasy realm where knights hack at trolls with swords, deadly spells crisscross the battlefield, and powerful fortresses dot the landscape. The game pits the evil orcs against the humans, letting players choose whichever side they want in a series of battles over the world. With the WarCraft II: Battle Chest, players can experience the magic of the original game along with the added enhancements of the Beyond the Dark Portal expansion pack. Rounding out the Battle Chest is a complete strategy guide that will walk beginners through the basics and provide more experienced players with advanced tactics so they can master the game. That's good, because players will need all the help they can get challenging other WarCraft II fans online. It's possible to challenge one to eight other players on the developer's free Battle.net servers, while more solitary gamers can immerse themselves in one of the fun single-player campaigns or stand-alone missions. WarCraft II's finely balanced gameplay has lost none of its charm, even if the graphics are aging. In most missions you start with a small force and must gather enough resources to build a strong base of operations that can field a formidable army. We had the most fun with the set-piece battles, where we had to shepherd a few beleaguered troops across an enemy-infested map to either link up with a larger force on the other side or protect a hero on his way to some goal. Blizzard is famous for delivering games with terrific production values, timeless gameplay, and lots of extras, and the WarCraft II: Battle Chest is an inexpensive reminder of why the company has such a terrific reputation. --T. Byrl Baker

            Pros:

            • A true classic with timeless gameplay
            • Multiplayer mode is a lot of fun
            • Plenty of campaigns and scenarios to satisfy the single-player set
            Cons:
            • Graphics are showing their age

            The Best
A few months ago, I downloaded the Warcraft 2 demo, and i immediatly fell in love with it. About a month later, i bought the game. It is the most fun game i have ever played. When you play on Battle.net, you get to play in real time against someone else or a computer. This way you get to see new stratagies and techniques that other people have used. One night a few days after buying this game, i stayed up till 5 oclock playing this game, and couldnt sleep the rest of the "night". This game made me fall in love with RPG and RTS games. It doesnt have any 3d graphics, but i dont care at all. It requires a lot of strategy and fast thinking, especially when you are in mid battle. I hope you buy this game, and meet me on battle.net

            Best Game Ever- period!
Warcraft2 is an awesome game that has been around a lomg time...a classic. While some say that its graphics are aging, I love the undetailed, squat Orcs, among other things. Welcme to the World of Warcraft!!!

            Super Gaming Ahead!
This is quite possibly the most amazing game for GBA I've ever seen! It's extremely addicting, fun, and very complex for gameboy.

The graphics are amazing for a portable system, and the min and world maps are great. You play as 5 characters, starting with gohan, then piccilo, vegeta, trunks and finally the best one, Goku.

The attacks are great, you get one malee attack and one energy attack at the beggining, and get a special melee attack and up to 3 energy attacks each by the end of the game.

The bosses are hard, Perfect Cell is nearly unbeatable, But its fun! theres no time limit so you can train as much as you want.

Overall this game is a must buy for those of you that like DBz, and those that don't too!

            Excellant
I played DBZ Legacy of Goku I, and it was too short and WAY to easy. Plus you could only play as Goku and only had three chi attacks. DBZ Legacy of Goku II is about a thousand times more. The game is REALLY long and a lot more challenging. I beat the first one in about two hours the first time. I have been playing DBZ II for around six hours and Im not halfway done yet! Plus you get to play as Trunks, Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta and Goku. Each have three chi attacks, two different each, and a different special melee attack each. The leveling system is very sophisticated and the gameplay follows the storyline very well. Even if your not a DBZ fan this is a must buy.

10 times cooler then the 1!!!
First, my brother had the game. Then I got interested and started playing it! I was kinda dissapointed 'cause it's a bit short the game, but totally fun! You can play as Goku, Trunks, Gohan, Piccolo and Vegeta! And you don't have to collect little orange ball thingis to be able to fly, actually, you only have to fly when you need to get from one area to another, like from the City to Goku's house. Youre allowed to grow only up to level 50, and you can get capsules that raise your power, endurance, or strength. There are also side missions too, like having to save the womans husband in the woods, or get an autographed photo of Hercule, like stuff that you don't have to really do, but just for bonus.
So, the money is worth it!

Warioland 4 stars Wario, the same money-mad rascal seen in many other classic handheld games. This time he's heard tales of a golden pyramid--which is enough to send the big blowhard scurrying off to the nearest jungle. He finds the place, but before he can collect his treasure he'll have to undergo a brain- and body-bending series of challenges. Four guardians stand jealously over the four sections of the pyramid. Wario will either have to defeat each guardian or activate a switch and escape before time runs out. No longer invincible, Wario will have to replenish his health meter by gathering pieces of heart. While exploring the pyramid, Wario gets flat and heavy, and undergoes other transformations. Minigames provide more diversions on the way to the final showdown with the pyramid boss.

Wario debuts on the GBA in an average Nintendo Platformer
Wario land 4 must be the best Game Boy Advance platformer to date .The story starts off when Wario reads the newspaper and sees a article about a legendary pyramid that has been discovered, which held the Princess Shokara who had once ruled the area. She had been put into a cursed sleep by the money crazed Golden Diva. So Wario drove off to recover the treasure.

Thats enough about the story now lets talk about the game it self. The graphics are great and suite the theme of the story well. They may be 2D but they dont look dated like Super Mario Advance. The colours are bright and colourful and improve on the Game Boy Advances dark screen. The music is the best Ive heard on a game so far as well. Some of the songs include sampled speech and even when your playing the game you can uncover CDs , which unlock more music and sounds for you to listen to in the sound room. Wario himself includes sampled speech in the game such as when he is hit by an enemy. The game its self is a little too easy but playing on the harder modes is a little more challenging.

This game was great. It keeps you playing. Some of the minigames get repetitive but oh well. Great game.

              Side-scrolling, platform-jumping excellence!
Wario Land 4 (a.k.a. Wario Land Advance) is an excellent example of innovative gameplay in a genre that has pretty much been left in the dust by current next generation consoles. I love the 3D graphics and gameplay that the GameCube, PC, PS2, and XBox offer, but playing a 2D platformer brings me back to the days of frustratingly good fun that the original Super Mario games of the NES and Super NES era. Sonic was great on Genesis too. While these characters have made superb trasitions to the 3D realm in most cases, there is great gameplay still to be had in the 2D world of Wario Land 4. The level design is truely creative and involves thinking to get through. There were several instances where I was reminded of how I felt the first time I played through the 2D Mario games. Specifically when I discovered a hidden room. The game is very addictive. It can be beaten in a couple of days, but the time you will spend with it will be very good. Wario is a great anti-mario. He is not totally evil, just morally corrupt, and for this reason he is a great addition to Nintendo's unchallenged character library... If you own a Game Boy Advance, don't pass this one up. By the way. If you are thinking about buying a GBA, and are still deciding, get the SP. I have owned both, and the GBA SP is well worth the additional money. Playing Wario in the dark is fun indeed.

                FF1 Only Reason to Buy
I played FFI when i was around 5 years old. I am now 20 and was very excited to hear that they were re-releasing FF1 with FF2. I had played the japanese version of FF2, but never got anywhere.

The only unfortunate thing about this release, is that FF2 is just plain boring. The leveling system they have has too many holes in it, and leaves for extremely stale game play. You have to cast a spell a total of 50 times just to get it leveled up once. Very tedious. The enemies are extremely easy to kill, and the graphics were not even up to par with Final Fantasy 4 and 6.

But FF1 makes up for all of these mistakes. The remake is immaculate. The only thing i dont like is some renaming of enemies, but you'll get over it. The graphics are MUCH better than FF2, showing that FF2 was more of an add on than something they really put their heart into.

FF1 also has great gameplay that can only be compared to final fantasy 4 and 6. I feel these are the three greatest games in the series, although i do enjoy 8-10 quite a bit, but they just dont have that special place in my heart. If you haven't played FF1 then spend the 30 dollars on this re-release, it is perfect. If you are just expecting to play FF2 like i did . . . then forget it . . . really dissapointed in that.

                5 stars for FF1, 2 For FF2 . . . i gave it all a 3.

                Unbelievable
Final Fantasy was always fantastic, but had a few quirks that decreased the game's enjoyment level. Thankfully, Square has finally ironed out those problems. For example, you can now hold many items in your inventory, eliminating the need to sell off valuable equipment. In the NES version, I can remember selling key items such as the Sun sword, Were sword, Ice Armor and Flame Armor; these are helpful throughout the game when fighting the appropriate enemies. In addition, you can now switch equipment in battle, which is great because you rarely know beforehand which enemies you will face, and consequently, which weapons or armor you will need.

The storyline is clearer, and you can see all of your characters during key dialogue sequences (similar to every other Final Fantasy game). Square has upgraded the graphics a notch. The game auto-targets in the fashion of other FF games. There is a fantastic FMV scene at the beginning of the game. There are plot-advancing scenes interspersed with the action. These are a few of the changes, all of which connect you better with the story and gameplay.

Verdict: zero percent frustration, 100 percent fun. Five stars out of five.

                Screw you, cloud_mcaeris!
If you were the biggest FF fan in the world, (which there's no chance that you are) then you would love this game(s). You could only be the biggest FF fan if you played and like all the games, but you obviously didn't. So there's no way you could be the biggest FF fan. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying that I am the biggest FF fan, but you sure as hell aren't, because this is a good game(s). Plus, it's originally for SNES! (If your that stupid, it means Super Nintendo Entertainment System)
Of course the graphics aren't good! But if your a real FF fan, you can focus on the game story, not on the graphics!!

                  This game is the best!!
Well to start, when I bought this game I knew it was going to be good and it was. First of all with the game comes 3 limited edition rare cards, Harpies Feather Duster-destroys all of your opponent's magic cards, Valkrion the Madnet Warrior- compined all 3 magnet warriors to form him with 3,500 ATK and 3,800 DEF, last is Sinister Serpant- when he goes to the graveyard he is sent back to your hand at the next stander base any time you whant. All 3 cards are really good and if you what to buy them separated they cost [a lot] so you saved money...Well now to the game. This game has a battle city map where you go and duel many characters. I liked it because it's like the real thing in realy life. For example, theres a map and you see people to fight to and you do also days past by and theres tournaments. I liked it because you can get all 3 God cards but it is so hard to get them, I still didn't get not even one but at least I know I can get one. I recommend this new game for everybody and it is tons of fun!!

                  Best Yu gi oh game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I got this game on 1/18/04. so I just started. Its really great!!!. It follows the offiicial rules EXCACTLY!! but sometimes they dont let you activate Mirror Force or 7 tools of the Bandit whenyou should be able to.

                  Positives:

You get Harpies Feather Dduster, Valkyrion and Sinister serpent

When you duel, use passwords, or look at your deck and trunk its EXACTLY like eternal duelist soul.

                  Follows official rules

Can use labyrinth of nightmare cards like Destiny Board, Dark Necrofear and Magic Cylinder etc.

can duel hard people in the beginning.

you get good cards in the beginning like Imperial Order

                  Negatives

no LOD PGD MFC or DCR.

Opponents are stupid and try to play magic cards when I have Imperial Order

                  Booster packs suck

If you want to have a yugioh game following the official rules buy this. Its like Eternal duelist soul.

                  i love it
                  my sister thinks its stupid
