Great air-combat game! Bad melee game
refreshing to say the leastIt's a third person shooter in a sense. It is more a dogfighting game than a flight simulator (it hardly simulates anything close to reality, which is a good thing!). Single player consists of an almost GTA-like storyline...There's a main plot, but you can go off and do your own thing (to an extent), too. As you go along, you earn tokens, and money, which are what you need to upgrade your planes. The single player experience makes this game rent-worthy, while the multiplayer (like so many other games) is what makes this a keeper.
If you don't have xbox live yet, that's fine. The game comes with an activation code that gives you two free months. You take 5 minutes to sign up, then you're off! You pick quickmatch, which automatically searches for an open game of the type you desire. You get in, and you pick your plane. Everyone checks in, and you're now beginning your first xbox live experience. You may be playing dogfight or team dogfight (equivalent to deathmatch or team deathmatch), flag heist (capture the flag), keep away or team keep away (you grab "the booty," and everyone else tries to kill you- basically kill the carrier). Or you might be playing the best of them all...Wild Chicken. This is a game much like football, but with a chicken. You start out on your team's side, and everyone rushes to the middle of the map where there's a chicken falling from the sky. The goal is to take the chicken to the enemy's base, through a set of four goal posts. You earn seven points for every chicken-score, and 1 point for every kill. Sound fun? You have no idea.
Instead of looking just in front of, to the sides, and behind you, you have to be aware of above and below as well. While this may seem obvious, you cannot truly understand its significance until you play. Because it has a light learning curve, the game is easy to pick up. This allows it to be a great party game, or just something you play by yourself. The single player is fun, but nothing compared to multiplayer.
*For those without xbox live: the game is a lot more fun in multiplayer if you have the headset (you can purchase it alone for about $30). the headset made all the difference for me, and got me hooked on xbox live.
ENJOY!
Thumbs UP for Crimson Live. WAY UP!**Open doors**
Crimson Skies on Live is utterly amazing and gave me no reason to return to the 1 player mode. Modes such as Dogfight, Team DF, Capture the Flag, are all great. 16 players are allowed to join in one game (with a little lag, but not much at all).
It is on XBox Live that Crimson Skies allows you to see the vast handling and maneuverability of these planes. Live also keeps each pilot's stats, allowing the player to put everything in perspective compared to other Red Baron's out there.
The environments on Crimson Live are completely huge and amazing and the battles that ensue are nothing short of utter mayham.
I give Crimson Live 9/10 dumbfire rockets. If you are looking for a reason to purchase Live, look no further. This game to me, was worth the money.
Look on the horizon for the wispy flames coming out of my engine, for I am BOO75. :o)

Yet ultimately, the core of Burnout 2 is still arcade-style racing, and frankly theres little else that does it better. Burnout 2 is incredibly accessible and an absolute blast to play, whether youre competing through the suitably enhanced single-player options or hooking up with friends--its completely irresistible. Visually, the game looks great and moves very, very quickly. The action too is interspersed with elaborate crashes, and when you do hit something you shouldnt, at least youre rewarded with an action replay for your trouble.
Negatives? Genuinely very few. Those who prefer their driving games flavored with a bit more realism are going to be happier with a Gran Turismo game than this, and in spite of some good improvements and additions, there arent enormous differences between this and the original, despite the fact that a lot more has been added to it.
These are nothing more than very minor niggles though. Easily one of the most downright enjoyable games of recent times, Burnout 2 is an exemplary piece of gaming entertainment, and a welcome antidote to the growing band of games that just take themselves far too seriously. Treat yourself. Youll be glad you did. --Simon Brew

my favorite driving gameCrash mode, is so top; ingenious idea to get the most insurance damage, great idea on the developers part, they actually listened to what the fans wanted. Crash mode really shows how big the crashes can actually get.
Pursuit mode is also very cool, especially in 2 player the race get really competative, and always gets my heart racing. Pieces of the cars come off of the car your peruing to tell you what damage level the other person is at.
Circuit mode, is my favorite
the replays are so cool, they really made it in a way that i admire, i hate watching split screen replays its just dumb, having the camera change whose on the big screen by what place they are in is awesome. You get to see so much more of the action that way. So if your friend crashed behind you and its flying through the air you'll get to see it in the distance behind your car.
Graphics, are clean, no anti-aliasing errors could be seen, textures are high quality so everything looked amazing, car models resemble some modern day cars, like the supra, mustang, lotus, civic, and such.
I can't wait for a sequel.
Manic Anti-depressive Thats because in a video game the only way you can win is to drive around like a MANIAC!! And thats never easy (Ask any hollywood stuntman!).
Well finally there is a game that encourages you to do just that! Racing through congested highways at extreme speeds just like in the movie FAST AND THE FURIOUS, Racing as recklessly as you can is the ONLY way you are ever going to progress in this game. And for you reward you get extra Tracks (30 in all with all kinds of weather effects), Extra Cars (including One that looks very much like the green Celica hot rod that was used in F& the F), And a BOOST feature that works excatly like the NOS nitro boosters also used in the movie which you'll only get the more suicidal and reckless you drive.
And when you acually do crash in this game, BOY DO YOU CRASH! Think SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT on crack and viagra you'll see just what I mean!
All in all, for those who need an immediate fix after braving rush-hour traffic on your way home to play this game, you MANIC ANTI-DERESSANT IS HERE!!
Awesome!
- Responsive controls give you command over every aspect of the game
- Unbelievable gang tackles, dazzling sideline grabs, and double-team blocks heighten the action
- No matter your experience, the all-new interface will quicken your decisions on the field
- New close-ups of all of the action including crowd scenes, cheerleaders and sideline players

Excellent Football GameControls and Graphics:
If you have ever played Madden you will be right at home here. The controls are almost identical and are very simple to learn. The graphics are excellent. The ESPN look and feel really add a lot to the game. It really enhances the feeling that you are controlling a real game.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is very fun. Passing is a bit difficult at first, due to the cheating computer (who gives you all of 2 seconds to throw the ball before drilling your QB into the grass), but you'll learn quickly. The running game is insanely easy to rack up yards in (I routinely get 650 yards rushing a game, and no I am not amazing at football games). So how can I give this game 5 stars as a football game? It's fun. Even if it is a bit unbalanced and unrealistic at times, the game rocks . It has an incredible amount of unlockable stuff, and many differnt modes.
One huge problem: the commentary is extremely repetive, annoying, and bad. Also, the computer sometimes calls cheap penaltys on your team. Even with these quibbles, I had a very fun time playing ESPN Football. Whether you buy this or Madden is completely on prefernce: both games are excellent. Another fine year for football games.
What a gameThe crib is awesome. It's a great way to motivate you to go for the glory so to speak. When I first got the game, I thought that's nice - I'll never use it though. 4 games of air-hockey later and I am changing my tune.
First person playing, not my cup of tea - but a nice feature. Nothing againt it, I just have a hard time playing much anything other than driving games in first person. I have read several good reviews on this feature.
I like the ability to see the whole field, sideline to sideline. It helps so much with the passing game.
I use this mostly as a two player game, head to head with my son so most of the franchise options and season goodness hasn't been tested by me to the fullest, but from what I can see, this is where Madden will take over top position. But again, I enjoy having an easy game to sit down to, and play football. I guess I am not all that hard core.
ESPN, in my mind - your NFL game is the best out there. Madden is definitely next in line. The rest I found not to be worth the money.
ESPN vs. MaddenGameplay - The best I have ever seen. Although on the pro level it is too easy to break big runs, playing on the all-pro level, it feels a lot better. Playing with Ricky Williams, I continously pounded for that 3 yards and cloud of dust. I also loved the feeling when you tire out a defense and watch Ricky explode into the secondary for a 20+ yard run. However, there have been many games were I have just been straight up stuffed. My last game against the Pats got Ricky 23 carries for 67 yards. The passing game takes a little getting used too but it works. I have to admit that Madden's passing mechanics are a little better. The hook and curl routes were my forte in madden, but they don't seem to work as well in ESPN. As far as defense is concerned, the DBs come to play. Playing with the fins, I loved playing bump and run because Madison and Surtain just shut recievers down. Sacks and DL moves are more realistic and frequent. And I love watching the tackling animations and the linebacker pursuit is just a beautiful thing.
Commentary + Sound + Graphics - All top notch. Even the fans and thier painted faces.
Presentation - No one is better then ESPN. You can freakin watch NFL Primetime for Christ's sake. Primetime is my all time favorite show and to be able to watch it in May brought tears to my eyes. And I love the halftime show, Chris Berman rocks!!!!!!! The Crib is cool to.
Few negatives -
Franchise mode - Not as deep as Madden but it will suffice. I love being able to break alltime records in Madden as hard as it was. I also liked being able to see carrer stats. Although, ESPN does keep track of carrer stats of players, you are only lucky to see them in a game. Also the salary cap is really annoying. In Madden if I have 7 million left in the cap room, don't take 3 million away if I sign Antonio Bryant for a 5yr 3 million dollar contract.
I hope ESPN makes the leaps and bounds Madden made with the Franchise mode, because if they do, Madden is going to be in hot water. If ESPN develops the franchise mode where you can track individual players carrer stats and make it as deep as maddens, then ESPN will have created the ultimate football experiance. But I do have two wishes:
1. Harder Hits - I want to punish recievers with Rodney Harrison for running routes through the middle.
2. Mel Kipper - I want him to analyze some of the rookies. Put a face on some of these rookies so I don't feel like I am drafting a name.

Going beyond motion-capturing batting stances (there are 89 distinct ones in here by my count), they've done a great job of animating pretty much every aspect of the game in pitch delivery, fielding, and base-running. The instant replay system, which borrows from and improves upon the one seen in the High Heat series, allows you to move the camera anywhere on the field to see the realistic movements at any speed. You can also use the feature to see the game's sophisticated artificial intelligence--for example, there's a brief, realistic delay when a player tags up from third on an outfield fly.
There's also a solid pitching game that lets a starter like Tim Hudson get off without a shelling when pitching heat down the middle, but try it with a pitcher like Byung-Hyun Kim and you're bound to see different results. And the TV-style zone chart shows which locations each batter is best at connecting to and where your sequence of pitches has landed.
A number of the new features are so obvious that you may wonder why you've never seen them before. One is a controller map in the pause menu that quickly shows you exactly which buttons perform the task you want. An option is also included that sets the relative speed of pitches to the plate. This really comes in handy when coming from another baseball game like All-Star Baseball 2003 where pitches seem to blur to the plate.
To put it bluntly, the game has almost no downside. There are some very powerful GM and manager functions--including a fantasy draft and exhaustive franchise tools--though using them is somewhat counterintuitive. Stealing is kind of tough to pull off; in one game, Ichiro got caught twice out of three attempts. And, as stated above, there's no Internet play--but that gives us something to look forward to for next year. --Porter B. Hall
Pros:
- Realistic player movement
- Smart AI
- TV-style zone chart marks hot and cold areas for each batter
- Variable pitch-appearance speeds
Cons:
- No head-to-head play over the Internet

Outstanding for both casual and extreme baseball fansMy criticisms of the game are minor, but enough to keep it from earning five stars. The baseball AI is occasionally questionable. Baserunners will make some of the most idiotic mistakes sometimes, manufacturing double plays that never should have happened. Also, against the computer, stealing a base is nigh to impossible, even with speedsters like Ichiro, and walks are not nearly as big a part of this game as they are in real life. Finally, it can be hard on the eyes to read over your stats sometimes as the folks at SEGA have decided to put colored stats up against similarly colored backdrops, causing them to meld together on poorer quality TVs. Straight black numbers against a white background would have been much easier to read.
However, please don't view the above list as a serious set of detractions. The game as a whole is enormously fun and dangerously addictive with tremendous replay value. The franchise mode is truly something special and if you like baseball, you'll love this game.
Franchise
UnbelievableThe gameplay is a little frustrating but once you get the hang of it, the game is a blast. I'm a big fan of Franchise mode in sports and this franchise mode is unbelievable, even better than Madden's franchise mode. Unlike any other game, you have an unlimited number of season to work with. You also have to hire managers, batting coaches, etc. and that's part of your budget. The budget system varies (You can choose to have the current budgets of the real life teams or have the budget off alltogether). What's also great about the budget system, you can gain more budget points depending on your team's success and W/L. There is also a player draft after each season where you draft new players for future use (Very cool!).
The point system for players is better than ASB and doesn't use the annoying A/B/C system, instead using a numerical system that goes up to 100. The system is very realistic as well, because unlike madden and other sports franchise games, if you have a great year with an average player like Kip Wells, his ratings will boost the next year and he'll be one of the best players in the league.
There are so many other things that make this game so great and realistic (GMs of bad teams getting frustrated and willing to trade a proven high priced players for some younger and cheaper talent) so buy the game!!
Oh by the way, that's just franchise mode. There's other features in the game, but franchise is so good it could carry this game alone.

One of the best games for GBA.1. Your sim might start to complain because it is hungry, has to pee, wants entertainment, or is tired. When this happens, you can't talk to anyone.
2. If you get a dog, it pees all over your house and you can't punish it. You also have to clean it up.
3. It's hard to please people. One of your goals might be to befriend the detective but the choices they give you to say will only make him madder.
4. You have to pay your bills and sometimes others, like 1000 for club rub.
Other than that this game is worth it.

I own some old sonic games (sonic 1,2 and S&K for genesis, sonic an knuckles collection for pc and sonic 1, 2 and chaos for gamegear i also had sonic pinball on genesis but now i have it on advance in sega smash pack) an this w/ sonic 2:battle (GC) r the only new sonic games i own so far. well, heres my review-
MUSIC/SOUND 4/5: I luv the music on someparts like in zone 6 (the cyber space with hologram stuff) is catchy an sometimes, i heard music from previous sonic games for a few senconds an the VERY LAST boss fight tune was cool but the VERY LAST boss sorta looked like a rip off boss fight from a game called SPARKSTER (snes) but then again it wasnt a complete rip. all in all u will enjoy the music.the sounds were good too but i sorta wished the characters had some voice in the game but its ok.
GAMEPLAY 5/5: awsome! this is more uv a race thru level game (even more than the old sonics) with few enemeis. u earn characters along the way such as tails, knuckles and a new recruit in the sonic saga!its a little girl rabbit named Cream and her CHAO named Cheese (cream cheese, get it?)an there is a character u can unlock an i know who it is althogh i havent earned him/her yet... u should no that ure first person u have is (obvoisly) sonic an i beat the game with him an cream an im workin on tails rite now, i havent earned all the chaos emeralds but to do so, u need to get 7 secret rings in each act (excluding boss acts) an u need to get those emeralds to unlock more features in the game. u can also do time trail mode which u choose a player to run thru the act as fast as u can which adds to replay but ill get on with that later... u can use data with chao linking to SA2-battle an do stuff but i dont know what unfortanatly...
REPLAY 5/5: Plenty to do here! beat game with all 4 characters with collecting a total of 28 emeralds (u need to get the chaos emeralds with EACH character!) then unlocking other goods along with earning ANOTHER character (now total of 35 chaos emeralds to collect) plus u can do (i didnt mention this in GAMEPLAY) multiplayer with up to 4 people an i never did it but my big sis has this game so i should ask her sometime... an again, there is time trail to get your absolute best with EVERY character so there is A TON to do here but when u manage to finish it all, u can still play the game (recommended doing this AFTER u did everything else multiplayer is optional tho) again with ure favorite character (mines sonic so far)
CHARACTERS:
SONIC:coolest of the lot (in my opinion), he foiled dr. Eggmans (gee thats a stupid name! what happened to Robotnik?) plans MANY times in the past. he can run really fast an do moves like back flip in mid-air or spin-kick forward.Cool huh?
CREAM & CHEESE: Unfortanatly, shees just a mimick of tails with worst flight controls (she flies with her big, floppy, ears) but she has good sprites (when she grinds on rails, is the happy or screaming?)! she can sorta spin forward an use CHEESE as a weapon. I think she deserves to be in the sonic crew all in all!
TAILS (MILES): Ok he is not really new at all in the sonic saga (first appearance: Sonic 2 genesis i think) he is sonics sidekick an can use his tails to fly but he doesnt really have alot uv moves but he is still awsome an deserves to let him go thru the game, u wont regret it!
KNUCKLES: Sorry! i didnt get to try him out yet but ill upgrade this when i do! the only thing i really bet he can do (unless sonic team got drunk which hopefully they didnt cuz they rock) is glide in mid-air cuz he did in previous games so its either gonna be sonic or him as my fav!
???: Yup! this is the mystery character an i never tried him/her out cuz i didnt unlock him/her but i know who the character is (sorta obvouis)...
RENT/BUY/NEVER TOUCH/USE TO THROW AT WINDOW: Definate buy even if u missed out on old school sonic games or even the new ones (all the stories are pretty much the same)!!! This will be awsome for road trips (if u dont get carsick that easily) an is jus fun to play again an again! u can get the first sonic advance if u want but uv what i heard, u should get this one or better yet both! I didnt write this long reveiw for nuttin so go get it now!.....umm why u still here...? GO! GET IT NOW! well by for now!.....no really BYE! *runs away*
A good game, with a few exceptionsThen I started dating a girl who has a Genesis, and got hooked on Sonic. Liking the 3 or 4 games she has, I decided to buy this game for my GBA. For the most part, it's awesome... new stages, new characters, great graphics and music... and like other reviewers said -- if you're familiar with the Genesis Sonic games, you'll be right at home with this title.
However, there are a few things I really do NOT like:
1) The first several stages are pretty easy, but then they get much harder. I'm stuck on the sky world, because there's one jump which is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to make without doing some kind of specialized new move that Sonic never had before. I don't mind when special moves give you access to secret bonus areas, but I hate it when tricky special moves are *required* to get past a certain part of a game. Even after reading numerous FAQ's and walkthroughs on how to get past it, I can't. This one hurdle alone has turned me off so much, that I've practically given up on the game. (At least until I finally break down and buy today's GBA equivalent to the Game Genie.)
2) One review for "Sonic Advance 3" mentions frustration with the fact that the game levels are so huge, it's impossible to memorize the locations of all the special items required to unlock special stages. One thing I've never been good at in any Sonic game is memorizing the stages, or getting to the end of a bonus stage. I know these things are "above and beyond" what's required of the basic game, but I think they forgot -- it's a GAME, it should be fun. When I want hard work, I go to my job.
3) You can't access all the characters until you "unlock" them. If I paid $25 for this game, I should be able to access ALL the features right off the bat. I shouldn't be required to play the entire game all the way through with 4 different characters just to unlock a 5th character who'd probably be wind up not even being worth the effort. How'd you like to pay $25,000 for a car that doesn't allow you to access all its features until you've driven a certain number of miles or you've successfully completed some 43-key sequence on the stereo in 25 seconds or less? Same goes for the Gamecube Sonic Mega Collection -- I paid enough for it, I should be able to play ALL the games immediately... none of this "unlocking" bullcrap.
4) I alluded to this in the previous item -- once you unlock new characters, it's like they have their own "account" in the game. For example, you can't have Sonic play the first 3 acts, then have Tails take over. Each character has to play through the entire game on their own. I guess it's a neat way to learn each character's differences and advantages -- but I'd prefer the "Super Mario Bros. 2" style of character selection... where ALL the characters are available all the time, and you can choose the person who is best suited for each stage.
SONIC IS THE BEST!!!!! better than any platformer made.UNLOCKABLE SECRETS. CHAO GARDEN IS UNLOCKABLE. BUY IT! BUY IT!

Tons of golf-at-home fun for your PS2!
Tiger Woods- BIG HITFor starters, Gary McCord (current PGA announcer and former player) has signed on to do the commentary. BIG step up from the voices from the previous versions that tended to get very repetitive. David Faheretty is back to do the play-by-play analysis. He does good work.
A ton of new courses have been added, both real and created. Pinehurst #2 is probably the most notable, along w/ the famous public course Bethpage Black.
Along with the new new courses, new players have been added. John Daly makes his appearance, as well as Retief Goosen and others.
Career mode is a new feature, allowing a player to play through a 10 year career. It's a nice feature, better than the previous tournament mode. There are no more 18 hole tournaments for a couple grand to the winner.
The match play mode has been improved, sending you all over the world map playing in various "regions." Defeating a player at each level of each region is the goal.
Overall, INCREDIBLE new game, a must buy without a doubt for any Tiger Woods series fan AS WELL AS anyone that thinks they might enjoy a "golf" game. Best game of the series by far. Get it!

Great and engaging- Duh, it's InuYasha!
- Because it comes from a TV show, there is kind of a plot that goes with it, and it keeps the game more interesting.
- The plot changes as you earn new characters to play with.
- Each character has their own special moves and abilities.
- Hint hint - if you get the game, definitely try to get Kouga. If you use his Demon Wind attack over and over, it's impossible for your opponent to even move. Yeah, it's a little cheap, but that's okay if the other guy's been whippin' [you] all day. Besides that, Kikyo's really the best, but Sesshoumaru rocks too.
- The controls are never hard to remember.
- There are several bonus things to unlock that would really appeal to InuYasha fans, but I'm not going to give away what they are.
Fans Inuyasha & SNES-fighting games will love, others won'tYou start the game as Inuyasha or Kagome, and each time you beat a "level" with enough shards you unlock a new character. All of the main ones are here: listed in the manual and even the 2 secret ones can be figued out from their silloettes.
The controls are very esay to figure out, and the game is very enjoyable if you like this sort of game. There are a few mini-games of whacking bees and rocks, but otherwise are all battles. So if you like fighting games you'll like this, though the graphics are in no comparison to games like Soul Caliber and Tekken. Therefore, Inuyasha fans will love seeing their favorite character demolish others (it's so much fun to beat up Shippo!), fans of SNES-type fighting games will enjoy it, but those looking for deep storylines and varied gameplay will not.
