    Fun!
Is this the most realistic racing game? No. There are others which have more true-to-life driving physics. But those games aren't as immediately fun and absorbing as Burnout 2.

This is a game that lets you immerse yourself immediately in having fun. You know you're in for it when the first few "missions" are basically tutorials for driving on the wrong side of the road, passing cars as closely as possible, learning to skid while turning, etc.

I found myself laughing out loud when, during competitive racing, I crashed, causing many surrounding drivers to crash as well in a chain reaction of squealing tires and blaring horns. The game handles crashes in a wonderfully entertaining way...you realize that any of these crashes in real life would cost the life of not only the driver, but several other drivers as well... but it's ONLY A GAME! In fact, the game developers created a special offshoot of the main competitive racing game called "crash mode". You actually are encouraged to cause crashes that cause the most damage! I acknowledge that this sounds really really sick. It's really really fun. It IS a GAME, after all.

Low learning curve. High fun factor. Buy and enjoy.

    INSANE fun
Are you sick and tired of unforgiving racing games where its you against the turns? Well, then buy this game. The learning curve is really small, you'll get the controls by the first race and master them at the fifth or sixth race. The AI is great, they don't use preset racing lines, they swerve. In Project Gotham Racing, the AI seemed like it drove on a preset line. Well, in Burnout 2, the AI is no slouch. He'll capitalize on mistakes and will fall behind if you force him into traffic.

Another great reason to buy this game is in its title, impact. Each and every crash is shown in its full glory. The crash mode even encourages the chaos and destruction of speeding through an intersection. You and your friends will die from laughter after flipping over busses and making tractor trailers jacknife.

Basically, if you want realism buy Project Gotham. If you want a fun racing game and a good time buy this. You WON'T be dissapointed.

    Wow!
Could this game be any better? For a game that is derived from arcade games, it's amazing. I normally don't like arcade games much, and this gets extremely close. But this offers ingenious AI, brilliant graphics, and heartstopping crashes (Duh. This is Burnout, you know.)The original Burnout was already great. Plus, Burnout 3 is coming out on September 8 this year. It is garuanteed to be better, which is a tremendous accomplishment.(...)

SSX on bikes, but also a game of its own.
When I first heard about this game coming out, which wasn't to far before the release, I was pretty excited. I have been downhill biking for some time and to here a game coming out for the sport I was pretty thrilled, but I doubted it's greatness and I thought it would let my hopes down. It turned out to be far from.
The game's smoothness and it's relativity to real bikes is great and it never faulters. The graphics could do with a little work but they weren't a problem at all. The tricking system is also flawless, a bit unrealistic, but would it be fun if it was relistic? Thats what makes it a video game. The combat system is very key to the game and kicks it up a notch. I also love how much interaction is on the mountains. There are hikers, cars, tanks, soldiers, workers, deer, sheep, cows, llamas, bears, and even big foot.
Sometimes the game gets frustrating. You crash an awful lot and sometimes when you crash you restart right infront of the object which you colided. This doesn't happen enough to make the game any worse. The one thing I really disliked was the sound track.
This game is great and highly addictive. You come across rain, snow, lava, and everything in between. The 24 levels never let up and will have you at the edge of your seat.

Realistic Downhill Racing, Minus the Road Rash
I am absolutely shocked that this game did not get more press or a dedicated fan base. This game is fast, fun, and the environments are awesome. The week it came out, the people at the store where I preordered it from were sick of me phoning to ask when it was coming in!!!

Choose a character, like Cosmo (from the UK) or Mai (from Japan) and a bike and get riding! You can choose from a variety of careers or just race a single race. Then hope on your bike and start riding!

    Characters

Other than their name, basic stats, and country of origin, there isn't a lot to know about the characters. You have the opportunity to unlock additional characters, including real-life downhill pro riders. (Is it just me, or does Lisa Lopes look like Xena on steroids?)

    Story
This game doesn't have a story, so much as it has different racing courses for you to unlock. The range of available courses is amazing. It includes:

    * Mt. Liddleroch in the Scottish highlands, complete with castles and monks
    * Mt. Zorkovaska in Russia, with snow and military bases
    * Red Pass in USA, modeled after the beautiful rock features one can find in states like Utah

Although there isn't a ''mission'', the game has an awesome range of careers: Mountain Cross, Freeride, Arcade, Race, Technical, and more!

You can also upgrade your bicycle in the Bike Shop, which provides a wide range of tires, shocks, and frames. The Shop also provides a list of your sponsors (which you acquire the more you achieve in each of the various careers). You can also buy Extras, some of which can greatly enhance your biking stats!

    Graphics and Sound
Wow, wow, wow. For a title that listed at $39.99 at its release, the graphics are far better than I imagined. No slowdown, no loading times within levels, and great detail on both the characters and the environments.

I usually hate the ''popular'' music that accompanies games (with THPS being the rare exception), but the music that comes with DD is far better than I expected. I usually mute the music on racing games, but this game is enhanced by the soundtrack.

    Will This Gather Dust?
There are a lot of things to unlock in this game -- things that I will not spoil the surprise with in this review. It has a high replay value for me, as I play it at least an hour or so a week, even 4 months after its release.

    Overall Recommendation:
If you like downhill sports racing (Freekstyle, SSX, Amped, 1080), you'll like this.

If you like tight controls and cool tricks, you'll like this.
If you like realistic sports simulations, you'll like this.

    Road Rash on bikes!
Anyone remember Road Rash? The game where you had to fight almost as much as you had to race in order to win? Well, Downhill Domination is basically Road Rash on bikes. With fierce fighting while on your bike while you race some seriously steep and crazy courses. All the meanwhile whih crazy stunts and a fast framerate and sense of speed(something Road Rash series had lacked because of the old technology back then) It will also have a 4 player splitscreen mode so bring 3 other friends to race you. This game is made by the team responsible for Twisted Metal 1, Twisted Metal 2 and TM:B so you know it's gonna be wild and with the recent praise and high scores from gaming magazine EGM, it looks like this one is one to watch out for.

    Like Singing?
If you like singing get this because it'll be lots of fun. One of the makers of the game is Harmonix, the people that made amplitude. If you're wondering about how to pass a level or what modes are there then here are some answers. One of the Modes is soming called Showtime(or something like it) this is where your acting out like a Singer that try's to get to the BIG TIME, The other modes, well... I forgot. But I can tell you that your not really singing, you just try to sing along with the song and you just have to match the pitch of the song.

    Fabulous!
I love this game! I get it out and sing until my voice cracks...it's fun alone, or with friends. The only things I would improve is adding a duet mode, and some way to record yourself. I can't wait for the rumored expansion disks...!

    Love it!
This is a great game for the whole family. From my 6 year old to my 30 somenthing hubby. We still play it and have had it for quite some time. I ordered the new one and can't wait to get it.

    Somethin' stinks.
This expansion adds nothing to the original SC4 that could not have been made available as free downloads from EA/Maxis. In fact, the game "updates/patches" not only don't fix the bad AI and pathfinding ability of the citizens (that affects virtually everything else in the game!), but actually end up removing some important elements from the the original game. Those who have the original SimCity 4 are still out of luck for ANY necessary fixes, and must PAY to "patch" their game. Sad - Very sad.

SimCity 4--Great FUN (A Lot Of Fun)!!!
SimCity 4 Rush Hour Expansion Pack is an exceptional additon to SimCity 4. The Expansion Pack makes the game more detailed and more fun to play. Numerous modes of transportation is included giving the choice of a monorail, ferry, ground level highways, and other choices. You can see how the traffic flows in the morning and evening rush, and you can see how your sims are getting around with the transportation query tool. You can choose where your sims will work and what car they drive, if you want them to drive. Other features include the capabilities of driving a car, a bus, flying a helicopter, and other types of vehicles, as well. It is a big step forward from prior gaming experience with SimCity 4 and SimCity 3000 Unlimited. There is so much to build and create in this game when building your own city, and this game afford so much opportunity to do more.

Maxis has done a wonderful job at developing the Expansion Pack. It has made playing SimCity 4 much more user friendly and more interesting. Anyone who has played any version of SimCity will really like this one. I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves a challenge of building a city and having control of it.

    Joy.

A wonderful and much needed expansion of Sim City 4
    I love Rush Hour!

In many ways Sim City gets a whole new feel with Rush Hour. It is not only the much talked about U-drive-it feature, a new building set, or a few more transportation options - quite a lot of smaller changes were made that tremendously add to the gameplay!

First of all, the game runs a lot faster now on my computer(Yipee!).

Then I especially like the changes to the traffic simulation engine. Now you can see how and from where sims get to a building. Not only gives this more transparency to what is actually going on, it also gives the player a lot of feedback. Plus: the traffic simulation makes more sense now (sims now use the fastest instead of the shortest route - so your highways are no longer unused if the onramp is a few blocks away). So cool: now you see trucks clog the roads in industrial areas whereas residential suburban roads are packed with vans and SUVs.

Maxis also added different difficulty levels as well as new tutorials. If you play on easy you no longer need to spend 90% of your time on super-micromanagement tasks like adjusting the number of teachers in every school.

Many people think the U-drive-it feature is purely hype. Well, it is not THAT special. However, after an a while of laying out zones and roads it is always fun to just click on a mission and drive around the city in a police car with sirens on, pushing other cars off the road.

I heard somebody say he feels that Rush Hour breathes a lot more life into his city. And I totally agree. Now you see car accidents on big crossings, you do see trains (or the fancy monorail) bring in commuters from the suburbs in morning and evening hours. In many ways the city just feels more real and alive now.

Sim City with Rush Hour must be the most complex game ever - the sheer detail of what is simulated is breathtaking. And it is also a lot of fun. Intelligent and entertaining! Let's be honest: many things like avenues should have been included in the original game already. Now, with RH, Maxis adds so much to the game that it is hard to complain. I hope we'll see many more expansions like RH.

P.S.: no, i am not paid by Maxis, I am just a happy fan ;)

    Good game... or is it?
I am a great Sims Fan, from SimCity, to SimFarm, to SimAnt, and recently The Sims. I simply loved the computer versions, and when I played it on the PS2 for the first time I simply fell in love with it. I got The Sims Bustin' Out for Christmas and have been playing it ever since. (2 days)

I was a bit bummed to find out that to play in the two-player modes you MUST have two memory cards, one in each slot. I found that a bit "not good", since I only have one memory card, because i never needed 2!

The other bummer is that the save file takes up too much space in the Memory Card. Besides that, I still haven't found a way of building a second story, and I'm not sure if you even can do that!

The controls for the Gamecube are also hard to adapt, especially because most of the controls are pressure sensitive. To finish it off, there isn't a way for you to highlight and/or delete the actions in the order that you want, for example if you had your sim to Shower, Watch TV, Use the Toilet, Sleep and Eat, and you wanted to get rid of Use the toilet, you have to delete all of the entries before it. Bummer!

Besides all which I mentioned above, the game is still great and is a MUST-buy for Gamecube owners/Sims lovers. Now keep in mind this review was written for the Gamecube version, so I'm not sure whether the Xbox and PS2 versions have the same features/bummers. Hope this helped!

The Sims Bust out to greatness!
I really enjoy playing this game, I own most of the Sims games. Like the PC ones and the other game "The Sims" for Gamecube. This game is fun and easily played if you love the sims you'll love the sims Bustin out cause you get to go places and visit people the downfall is that the neighborhood is almost filled up and you can only have 3 sim families unlike in the orginal gamecube game "The Sims" you are allowed much more.
The goals are really easy to complete. So you can advance quickly unlike in "The Sims" for gamecube it is much more easier to get finished with a carrer or get married. Overall the game is excellent and has the sims Bustin out and I am totally lovin it. You should buy it , even if you are a fan of the The Sims or not this game is fun.

New & Improved, but with glitch problems
This newest platform version of The Sims is much improved and loads of fun. The "Bustin Out" portion of the game is extremely goal oriented. You move into various locations and from the beginning you are told how many goals are unlockable at each location and have a basic idea of what you get for unlocking them. I found it to be very satisfying to unlock the goals. Another BIG improvement is that you can switch careers without penalty. Whatever title you have achieved is still yours when you come back to that career. Just make sure you don't get fired, you lose one step in the career AND a point from one of your stats. You have many more choices for your sim's appearance and can change outfits & hair color/style each time you start up the game. You also get some of the money back that you spent fixing up each location, which is nice starting money for the next place you move to. Overall, it's a great game, I have spent many hours playing & haven't even gotten to the free play mode yet, so it's definately worth the Simoleans!
I am editing this to add that since my original review, I have experienced some MAJOR glitches in this game. The first and most problematic was having my game fail to load after a save. It just freezes on the load screen, which forced me to start a whole new game from scratch. I was quite far in the game and this did not make me happy. Some other glitches were:
    1. A sim showed up to visit, walked in and wouldn't leave. He slept in my bed, ate my food, etc. I finally had to reset the game.
    2. The game consistently freezes when your baby matures into a child, again, a reset situation.
    3. My sim was washing dishes in the sink and the sink broke, the sim was stuck with her hands in the sink washing dishes and I couldn't get her to stop. Reset AGAIN..YAY!!!
This is the buggiest console game I have ever played and feel that this game would have benefited from much more playtesting.

Known character, fun for the beginner
Dora is great. The graphics are very good on GB advance. The story is true to the show. Kids know the characters so they liked it immediately. I bought it for my 5 yr old girl who has never played video games before and she liked it right away. Its a standard side scrolling game that is easy to control. This is a great way to start video gaming as some Nintendo titles can frustrate small childern. My 4 and 6 year old boys like this game also.

Great game for the younger players
I bought this game for my daughter as a Christmas present. Both of us absolutely love it. My daughter turned 4 in October and this game is easy enough to play that she is able to truly enjoy it. Out of the 3 games she received for Christmas, this is the only one she plays regularly.

As for me, I took the time to play it so that I understood the rules and how to play so that I could better explain it to her. Even in that trial game, I really enjoyed myself. When ever you make a mistake, instead of "dying" you simply go back to a specific place in the game that you have already passed. You never have to start all over again, no matter how many times you mess up. In addition, the game is set up by levels and after the completion of a level you receive a password so that you can resume play at a later time from the new level.

If you and your child enjoy watching Dora the Explorer, you will definately love this game. Just be advised, that older children may be disappointed as it is an easy game to play. I would recommend this for children 4-6.

Star rating error - Amazon please review
When I was looking at the ratings for this game I saw that it had been awarded only 3 starts by reviewers. I almost clicked out but then decided to read the reviews (which were stellar). It seems that some of the people who raved about the game did not enter a star score (all stars blank). The summary star rating should probably be much higher. I would imagine that the producers of this game might be upset.

Megaman Battle Network 3 has a few significant improvements over the past two games in the series, but the overall concept is the same. Lan solves puzzles in the "real world," while Megaman.exe fights viruses and solves puzzles on the Net. The battle system is still the same, and that isn't a bad thing--it is still the best live action battle system for any RPG on a handheld.

At this point in the story, it's been about a month since Lan and Megaman's encounter with the nefarious Net Mafia Gospel, and a new semester at school is about to start. When Lan and his classmates are invited to the seemingly innocent net battler Semi-Finals at ACDC Square, little do they know that a new, incredibly evil plan is about to be hatched!

The most exciting addition to the game, hands down, is that you can now make your own Megaman with segments of code that you gather throughout the game. Watch out, though: Do it badly, and you can get a buggy program. In addition to programming your own Megaman, you can still change Megaman's battle styles (just like in Battle Network 2). The end result is the best character creation system on a handheld.

In a homage to the Pokemon games, there is both a White and Blue version of Megaman Battle Network 3. The game is more or less the same, but there are unique cards, styles, and programs for each version--which makes trading and battling via link cable a real incentive.

In short, Megaman Battle Network 3 is one of the best RPG's for the GBA, and is appropriate for all ages. Fans of traditional Megaman games will also like the live action battles. –-Bryan Karsh

      Pros:

      • New Programming language lets you make your own Megaman
      • White and Blue versions have unique cards, styles, and bosses

      Cons:

      • Graphics look a little stale--a rehash of the past two games

      Get 'da game- it rox
This game is one of the best I've ever played. I beat the game and most of the secret syuff after, and still can't put it down! It took about 3 really good books to pry me from my Game Boy- record. It's usually one! This game has stunning grpahics, a control system suitable for anyone, a wonderful strategy-based gameplay form, much like the other Battle Network games, and even cool fights! It's a bit difficult though- if you think you may be a bit amatuer, have a guide or a friend ready in you custom screen! But even if this game is to hard, it is great! BUY THIS GAME!

      One major glitch...
If you have a key item and you save while you have it the item will still be there but the ebent that the item goes with isn't there so the item then can't be used i don't know if it's only the part with Flashman or all the key item parts.

This is a cool game... Oh what da frik'! IT RULES!!!
If u ever see this game get it!!! It is the best megaman game there is! The only flaw is that the white version is a tiny bit easier... Butt whoo cares! I'll take anything challenging!!! O.K. about the game. It is a lot better than Battle network 1 and 2! If u think its like a seriez ur wrong. number 1's ok number 2's fine... but BATTLE NETWORK 3 BLUE VERSION roks da house. A garuntee ur gonna never put it down. the are cool battle styles and when u fight Bass its so cool! Its not just the boring old megaman game where u use the same arm cannon over and over again. It is da bomb!!! Get it what ever it takes. They sell it at EB games too. Check the price there! K? Its graphics r sweet! If anybody thinks different... BEEP(swear word) THEM!!! Hope I've been helpful.

      Good game but...
This is a fun and challenging game. Like one of the previous reviewer said, this game really resembles the old Zelda games on NES, or more recently, the Indiana Jones series on N64 (and probably other systems). It's mainly a puzzler with some run and
jump qualities to it. As an experienced gamer, I'll tell you that the mental tasks this game really makes me scratch my head. But at the same time, I'm enjoying the quest as Sphinx and Mummmy (I love that Mummy!).

      Here are my criticisms:

Need more save points or option to save on your own...need maps of the worlds in the game...can be very frustrating at times...desperately needs voice acting!...if you cannot solve a challenge, you'll most likely end up shutting the game off and leave it to get dusty...There's a lack of consistency with both characters' appearances and comedy...colors could be better.

If you're looking for something a bit less mentally exhausting, especially if you're a gamer of little patience, go for Jak II or Ratchet II. Although the content of the game seems ok for younger gamers, they'll probably end up playing for an hour and putting it on the shelf.

      Loved it!
My daughter and I played the game as a team...I got to be the mummy. It was fun, not too difficult and the graphics and cutaways were pretty cool. A great way to spend a few saturday afternoons.

Creeking mummies, Glowing Swords, Welcome to Old Egypt
Shynx and the Cursed Mummy is a very fun, yet challenging game. Not to mention funny.

Romping through Ancient Egypt and re-killing mummies, always geta a little tiresome, so the Mummy is thrown in there for a little spice; the icing on the cake, if you will. The mummy is very funny, not to mention Clumsy.

Sphynx is the ultimate hero, tall dark and deadly. This game is so much fun. THQ you've mad a huge hit.

This game is so challenging, it's full of puzzles, you have to open doors and stuff to fight a huge zombe in the end.

      Overview:

Fun- 10/10 A lot of Fun, very funny.

Gameplay- 10/10 Just right, controls aren't too simple, arent too hard

Difficulty- 11/10 It's hard to conquer te leve.

      Graphics- 10/10 Great Graphics

      Overally: 41/40

This game is more than perfect, it's the right amount of challenge and adventure mixed with the right amount of mind-games and comedy. This game is a must for you're christmas stocking. Buy or Rent this game, it's worth every penny and worth every minute played. This game is TOO much fun to play, you need this game.

        An enjoyable RPG romp
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is a Strategy RPG simular to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Shining Force, and Ogre Battle. Not a standard RPG like a Final Fantasy X, Suikoden, and so on. Let's get to the review.

The story is well told with solid voice acting, and an intersting plot. You plays as one of two brothers as main characters, switching between their stories before they eventually meet up. But their very gathering could cause great disaster. Added to the two brothers are 12 other main playable characters who can take place in battle with you.

Battle takes place on detailed hand drawn locations and instead of an old fashioned grid movement system you are alowed total analog freedom of movement (within your characters max walking distance) before you can attack an enemy. The game rewards you hard earned time with some fantastic full screen magic spells. Ice meteors, flame swirling everywhere, even a selection of summon beasts. The characters vary from human swordsmen, archers, and even some cool looking demon people.

I think that the games highest praise goes to it's music. It sounds very proffesionally composed and has a very celtic feel. Flute and bagpipes along with standard RPG fanfar themes. Overall, I am really looking foward to this game. It seems to be a very solid Japanesse RPG with it's share of good cinematic scenes, character developement, and eye poping spells. For the price tag, it's worth it, go for it!!

Its like something from a good fantasy novel
I'm a big Sci-fi and Fantasy reader. So, when I played this game I couldn't help but like it a lot. Racism is an extremely delicate issue and I don't think I've ever seen any game depict that issue as well as Arc the Lad. This game takes place in a world where two races have been at each other's throats for thousands of years. Two brothers, both of them half breed of human and deimos (basically demons), were seperated when they were very young when the father (a deimos) and mother (human) have to run from persuing deimos because of thier illegitemate children. Kharg grows up in the human world with a somewhat social standing and Darc in the Deimos world as a slave boy. As the story progresses, both of them rise up to a position of leader and defender of thier respective race and both eventually clash into each other with the repricussion being far greater than both have ever imagined. This game has some unique plot twists and its kept me guessing all the way till the end.

The graphics are decent and there some attack spells/techniques that I love to watch over and over again.

The acting could've used some work but the really only annoying part of the voice overs is during battle. Some of the things they say is pretty corny so I usually just turn the voices off during battle.

The battle system is something more like FF tactics but in a more analog sort of way of movement and fighting. I liked it.

The music is something altogether different. I liked this music so much (the orchestrated pieces in particular) that I actually went online, found the soundtrack to this game and ordered it so I can listen to it without playing the game. I know, I'm straight up nerd. It kind of gives off the feeling of celtic music.

I can see that by playing this game you'll either love it or hate it. I was lucky in that I actually bought this game without knowing what it was about and turned out great in my opinion. I don't recommend to anyone doing that same thing. Go rent it. If you like it, buy it. Be forewarned, there are no sidequests other than fighting in arenas.

Possibly the best RPG on the PS2 after Final Fantasy X.
Through two generations of consoles, the PlayStation has become synonymous with classic role-playing games. One such RPG is the notable Arc the Lad series which saw a few versions published on the Playstation 1. Now, Playstation 2 owners can get a chance to play an updated version of the Arc the Lad series and RPG fans will be delighted to hear that the latest version is not a disappointment and is probably one of the top three RPGs on the PS2.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is played in two parts. Gamers will get a chance to follow two destinies and both character's stories will alternate. One path is the tale of Kharg, a young man in a small rural town who is the likely candidate to inherit the position of Captain in the town guard. Kharg's mother was actually a monarch but she refuted the title and instead chose to allow the town to decide its government via democracy. Because of this, Kharg still possesses a formal place in society as some of the villagers still have a hard time believing that the monarchy no longer holds any power. Fiercely loyal and protective over his town, Kharg has sworn to defend it from outside evils including the monsterous Deimos race that approaches human territory.

In another region of the world, gamers will play the story of Darc, a half-human half-deimos character who has been forced into slavery. Darc is different from the other Deimos. His heart is purer and he has a hard time relating to the savage power hungry ways of the Deimos. Darc knows little about his past other than his father helped him escape from a distant Deimos camp long ago and died in the process. Both Kharg and Darc have destinies that will eventually meet but you'll need to play the game for several hours before you start to see how their fates are intertwined.

The gameplay in Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is fairly easy to pick up. It borrows a few concepts such as elemental damage and turn-based combat from its JRPG peers but it also uses a movement system that not many current JRPGs employ. When moving a character, a zone is displayed showing you where your character can move. After making your move (to perhaps flank the enemy), you then select a number of special moves or magic attacks from your menu. You can also use items at any time. Depending on how much experience you have built up, your special attacks will increase in magnitude and by the end of the game all of your companions will have a nice assortment of lethal attacks in their repertoire. The game also allows you to upgrade your weapons and armor. During the course of the game, you will find treasures or come across vendors who sell necessary items. The key ingredient throughout all of this, though, are spirit stones. Spirit stones are the life forces that drive the world in Arc the Lad. Without them, magic and special abilities are null and void. One of the biggest tricks in the game is spending spirit stones when needed. If you spend too many, you'll run out of them and lose necessary energy for later battles, but if you conserve too wisely you may have problems defeating earlier opponents. It's a give and take system that requires some strategy to master.

The characters and story in Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits are all top notch. Not since Final Fantasy X has this reviewer played such a quality role-playing game on the PlayStation 2. If you're only into voice acting, you may be disappointed because most of the drama plays out in text and the game does require a lot of reading so keep that in mind if you're not someone who enjoys heavy reading games. The voice acting that is used is extremely poor and sometimes makes the game feel a little fake.

The graphics are pretty good in Arc the Lad, especially when you consider its genre. The sounds aren't that impressive and some of the music can get old fast. Many scenes use the same theme and it sometimes doesn't fit the mood of the moment. This game can also be long with as many as 50 hours of gameplay so it will definitely take a dedicated gamer to finish it. The game allows you unlimited saves at several in-game save points so it avoids some of the frustrations of long JRPGs that have limited saves. The save game slots also take up little memory so you'll be fine if your memory card is starting to get full.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is fairly easy to find on the Game Trading Zone. It still has moderate supply and moderate demand so you should be able to work out a deal with someone. This is a game that you'll want to trade for because of its length. Arc the Lad won't be completed over a weekend rental. If you're into Japanese RPGs and have been meaning to find a new one to occupy your time, I'd highly recommend this game. In this reviewer's opinion, it is one of the top three RPGs on the PlayStation 2 and a memorable experience for most gamers.

          Cinema history rewritten!
Admit it; if you've seen the classic movie, you were always kind of hoping Steve Mcqueen would really escape. Well here's your opportunity. I was 10 years old when the movie came out in 1965 and playing this game made me feel 10 years old again. Which really worked out perfect since I was taking turns alongside my army-game-loving six year-old (except for the times I wanted to grab the controls away and say, "Hey, it's MY turn again).
The graphics are not as good as Medal of Honor Frontine, but the variety and challenge of play is better and some levels are frustratingly hard (even set on Easy). Use your four saves throughout each level to save progress or you will scream in despair. It took us 12 days at an hour each day to beat the game. The shooter level (third to last) "Ambush" was my personal nemesis (and high mark when I finally beat it), but my son blew through the last two motorcycle driving escape levels in less than two attempts. Personally, my own Steve Mcqueen hasn't jumped the fence and escaped yet, but I will continue to have a blast trying. If only my kid will give me back the damn controller.

          I love it.
Currently ignoring the fact that I like the movie. I think this game is awesome. I think It's much better than Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid 2.

Some levels are incredibly action packed and involve a lot of shooting, but most are stealth based. The first few levels are a bit boring, but it really picks up and gets rather hard. Use your saves wisely, you get four per level.

This is the first video game I have played for a long time. After Vice City got boring I pretty much dropped video games altogether. When I saw an ad for this, I was pessimistic - but I knew I had to rent it. It wasn't out yet when I went to blockbuster, so I got Splinter Cell, so my visit wouldn't be an entire loss. I think the Great Escape is much better

Now if you liked the movie, I'm pretty sure you'll like this game. I'm not a big fan of the stealth genre, but I really liked this. There is so much different stuff. Strangling, Punching, Shooting, Driving, Sniping, Sneaking, Running, Jumping, Stealing, Picking-Pockets, etc. You get to drive a tank, a car, a truck, and, of course a motorcycle. You get to use a sniper-rifle, a luger, a machine-gun and, surprisingly enough... a bazooka!

The graphics are very good and The Cooler King looks like Steve McQueen. and the cut scenes are incredibly animated. The sound is taken from the movie so in the game you actually hear the real Steve.

The controls are very senible. I recomend you change the y-axis in the options menu.

If you have seen the movie you should probably at least rent the game. If you havn't seen it you should rent it. For anyone who really loves the movie, I think youy can buy the game and movie DVD together somewhere.

Anyway, I've played it and I really, really enjoyed it. It rather challenging at points, still it's a really fun game. I got much more than I expected. Rent it, you really won't regret it.

          Amazing Game!
I bought this game before seeing the movie. I've heard good things about both. When I began playing - I couldn't stop! Each level offers something different - many unique escapes. The thing I liked most about this game is the stealth aspect and attempting to avoid being spotted. Sometimes you'll hear a guard mumble like he heard 'something' hence giving you an opportunity to move out of sight or try and find a better place to hide - it wasn't frustrating at all but still remained challenging right up until the last scenes.

Overall one of the best strategy and adrenilin games I've played in a long time.

          5 stars all the way!

Kudos to Gotham Games - I hope they keep bringing us games like this one.
