- Xbox Live is an online gaming service that lets you play certain Xbox games over your broadband Internet connection
- Starter Kit includes one year of Xbox Live service and an Xbox Communicator voice headset
- Gamers use one account and one name with all Xbox Live-enabled games, making it easy to find friends and change games
- Version 2 includes new updates to the Xbox Live Dashboard
- Note: Xbox Live requires cable or DSL broadband Internet service and an Ethernet cable to connect your Xbox to your cable or DSL modem (sold separately)

but the question here isnt whether or not to get xbox live, its what exactly should you buy? from using all 3 (the starter kit, version 2 and version 3) and the prices i've seen on amazon, i would reccommend either buying the starter kit or version 3.
version 2 is only a little better than the starter kit, in my opinion.. but not $10 better. if you have the money, you want to go for version 3, but if you dont have the $10 for version 3 instead of 2, you might as well save another $10 and get the starter kit. so what the heck did i just say? i said buy version 3!
what you need to have the best online play ever
Living Life one Live at a TimeThere can be lag on the headset, and how lobbies and the details about how the service is used can greatly vary from product to product, as each developer has done thins differently.

At this point in the story, it's been about a month since Lan and Megaman's encounter with the nefarious Net Mafia Gospel, and a new semester at school is about to start. When Lan and his classmates are invited to the seemingly innocent net battler Semi-Finals at ACDC Square, little do they know that a new, incredibly evil plan is about to be hatched!
The most exciting addition to the game, hands down, is that you can now make your own Megaman with segments of code that you gather throughout the game. Watch out, though: Do it badly, and you can get a buggy program. In addition to programming your own Megaman, you can still change Megaman's battle styles (just like in Battle Network 2). The end result is the best character creation system on a handheld.
In a homage to the Pokemon games, there is both a White and Blue version of Megaman Battle Network 3. The game is more or less the same, but there are unique cards, styles, and programs for each version--which makes trading and battling via link cable a real incentive.
In short, Megaman Battle Network 3 is one of the best RPG's for the GBA, and is appropriate for all ages. Fans of traditional Megaman games will also like the live action battles. -Bryan Karsh
Pros:
- New Programming language lets you make your own Megaman
- White and Blue versions have unique cards, styles, and bosses
Cons:
- Graphics look a little stale--a rehash of the past two games

one of the best
My favorite game --HiDdeN one if DOOM--Some times you will have to use information from the real world to help megaman in the cyber world. To fully complete this game, you will have to hook up your gameboy to someone who has mega man battle network 3 blue. This game has a few parts that might be inapropriate for children, but it is mostly a kid friendly game. Altogether, this game will keep you busy for a long time, but it won't be really hard either. The mega man battle network series are my favorite games, and I hope you will enjoy them too.

Game is too hard. VERY HARD !
Do all of you people really believe this is a 5 star game? The play control is tight, with good response, and natural button choices (buttons on the left punch with your left arm, etc). And, oh yeah, it's kind of like Punch-Out! There are 3 save game slots to keep your record and money. But this is still a $20 game and they had to cut corners somewhere. Well, actually I don't know if they HAD to, but they did.
This game is very short and can be beaten with relative ease, in the first setting, with the exception of the final boss, Don. That guy is quite hard. The other thing is that while the control is tight, it is also pretty shallow. You have six basic punches, but very little distinguishing one from the other. Anything a left punch will do, a right punch will do as well. The super moves you can buy are not very impressive, but they help improve the depth a bit. Maybe some people out there would stay interested in this game for dozens upon dozens of hours. I am not one of these people.
It's a good game, buy it if it sounds good to you. But it's only a real deal at $20. You can think of it as a really flashy skin put on old Punch-Out! gameplay. Or you can think of it as an incredibly shallow fighting game, that is also very pretty. Chances are you'll start out the former and end up the latter. But, I still say someone in the mood for handheld arcade boxing will enjoy this.

You need this game!Graphics: (5/5) The Game Boy Advance's screen has never looked better. Bright colors and fabulous simulated 3D images. It's from the makers of "Golden Sun" (Camelot), so if you thought those graphics were awesome (I did), they're all here! Cool!
Sound: (5/5) The music is catchy and there's actual digitized voices! You can hear "Nice Shot" whenever you hit the ball perfectly or your character whine when he/she fails at a task. I don't know how they packed all this into one game!
Gameplay: (5/5) Okay, I'm not the most coordinated gamer out there, so for me to say that this game is easy to learn, it says a lot. But, like the real game of golf, it's easy to learn, but darned near impossible to master. Plus, the game is limited to the few buttons the GBA has to offer, so expect those buttons to be well used. The game itself is not merely a golf game, as I mentioned. Like the box states, "It's Role-Playing Golf" and that makes it much more interesting than a plain old golf game. But if you only want golf, you can have that, too, as well as a bunch of other mini golf-centered games. However, with all the features locked away in the "Story Mode," I'm not sure why anyone would buy the game and NOT play it like a regular RPG. Also, you can link to other GBAs for muli-player cooperative or head-to-head action. Camelot sure stuffed a lot of different features into this one tiny cartridge, let me say.
Replay Value: (5/5) You won't be able to put this game down. Ever. You will lose friends, pets and the ability to see without glasses. That's how much you'll be glued to your tiny front-lit screen. Like I said, the game is easy to learn, but near impossible to master and that's what will keep bringing you back for more. And then there's the ability to play with your friends in doubles play or against one another. There's just so much to do!
Let me start off by saying that this game is NOT just for people who love golf. I'm not terribly fond of the sport, although I used to go every once in a while. But Mario Golf, in the two incarnations I've played, are the BEST games out there. They combine the challenge of golf and RPG into one slick game that the whole family can enjoy. As far as I know, there's no violence in this game, so I can recommend this game to gamers of all ages, but because of the RPG-nature of this game, I think kids age 10 and up will appreciate the game much more. Oh, and adults won't be able to put it down, either.
Addictive!I'm not a golfer. I also don't play golf games on the PC, on a console, in a house, with a mouse... you get the idea. I saw all the great reviews of this on different game sites and thought I'd give it a try. After all, it was made by Camelot, the same designers who did the outstanding Golden Sun games for the GBA.
Rather than just being about playing golf, you get to spend time talking to other golfers, finding secrets, playing minigames, getting custom tickets so you can pick up special clubs, and gaining experience to improve your abilities. You have a partner in the game too and have to balance out spending experience points on your own character and on your partner. Get too good yourself and you'll be slammed on doubles play.
This game is simple to play and hard to master. You can perform the basic commands easily, but can really customize how you hit the ball, the spin you give it and more. You can make each shot as complex as you want to.
Mario Golf is a really really fun game. I thought I'd just play a few holes and haven't put it down for three days. This is a must have, up there with my top 5 games for GBA - Advance Wars 2, Golden Sun 2, WarioWare, Final Fantasy Tactics and now Mario Golf.

Ahh, memories...Some of these games have a great deal of memories for me. I remember playing Rampage, Rampart, and Smash TV at the arcades for hours on end. The games I was most addicted to were probably Gauntlet and Spy Hunter. These 4 games are still a lot of fun, and with the multiplayer capabilities are a blast. I played many of the others as well--720, Toobin', Marble Madness--in the arcades, but these games have lost much of their appeal to me now.
Some of these games aren't really that fun anymore (like the last three I named), but I'm still glad I have them. Every time one of my buddies comes over, we play many of the games, laugh, and reminisce. In fact, I don't know that I'll really be spending hours on end with ANY of these games (even Gauntlet can't hold my attention forever anymore), but they are nevertheless entertaining for a few minutes or even an hour. Again, having 24 games makes it all worth it.
The one complaint--Joust. I absolutely loved the two player "deathmatches" in the original Nintendo release, but I can't get that to work on this version. What a shame. Despite this, though, this is a great collection of games which, though it may not be the smash hit of 2003, is nevertheless very enjoyable.
AwEsOmE OLD SCHOOL ARCADE FUN! 24 games in 1!This game is the best of all 'classic aracde collection games'. You get both QUALITY AND QUANTITY! It also includes game histories, developer interviews, and top-secret documents.
My favorite games:
Gauntlet - Unlimited quarters ruin the game
Paperboy - Fun but hard, the street hazards are hilarious
Ramapge - Fun, destroy buildings and eat people, multi-players
Smash TV - Fun! Lots of carnage. Like the movie "Running Man', multi-players
Super Sprint - Fun! No steering wheels? Feels more like radio control than driving with joystick, still fun, multi-players
720* - Fun!! I like this more than Tony Hawk 4, seriously!
Root Beer Tapper - Fun! The gameplay and concept is classic!
These games are more fun than most modern games. This is a MUST HAVE for all classic old school arcade lovers! If you want to play REAL video games then try this too. THANK YOU MIDWAY!
A great collection of classic gamesSome of the games haven't aged that well and the controlls take a little getting used to but complaints like that are pretty petty considering everything your getting.
If you're not able to enjoy games which aren't graphically cutting edge then obviously look elsewhere. However if you're looking for a great collection of classic games there isn't a better purchase you can make.
My personal favorites are Spy Hunter, Paperboy and Joust but just about every game in this collection is worth playing at least once or twice.

if you're a veteran gamer looking for a fun game on the go..I have to admit...when i first started it up, i was thinking: wow, pretty cool. Pretty basic graphics, but alright. And then i was like: hey, the controls are pretty intuitive. Theyre pretty much like the console versions. That's a bonus. And then: oh cool, i can make a custom skater and a custom board with wording on it and stuff.
Then the novetly wore off.
1) The music is beyond horrible and annoying. Honestly, im never one to really care about video game music, but this is really really bad. You'll play the game with the music off more often that with it on, trust me. It is unbearable. Even the sound effects are really rough and annoying.
2) The gameplay is just plain bad. All you ever do are the same goals over and over and over again. And the worst part is trying to unlock different parts of each level. And the money system is boring...all you can buy are pads and drinks. I will admit, the first level was cool...i enjoyed it very much. But when you start moving on the other levels you start to see a pattern -- the levels are all the same, but actually get worse somehow.
3) the graphics are really really sub-par compared to other GBA games...you can barely see the difference between one skater and another. And the skate parks are just really plain, bland, nothing cool.
If you can get this game for $5, go ahead. It'll give you about that much enjoyable gameplay. Otherwise, dont even think about it. I thought it would be cool, considering i've loved all of the console tony hawks. I knew it wasnt going to be the same at all, but i was still expecting it to be fun. It isnt fun after the first level. Just the same old levels and goals recycled over and over.
Do yourself a favor and get Advance Wars 2 or Yoshi's Island or Metroid: Zero Mission.
