Luckily, the gameplay in the Gameboy Advance version of Splinter Cell is smooth enough to keep you coming back. But a large chunk of the enjoyment is eliminated by the poor game-save system. You could plow through six or seven different parts, hanging on to your health by a thread, and then miss one step and get blasted back several steps in the game. Some repeat gameplay is necessary for this genre, but this one goes too far.
The graphics are unexceptional but acceptable. The idea of having multiple puzzles to solve (for example, when you upload top-secret files to your superiors, the game gives you a twisty maze puzzle to solve) is a great one and adds to the scope of the game. However, they really should have added a much more comprehensive tutorial to the Training level of this game. While the puzzles tend to be very intuitive, the in-game obstacles are not. How about actually telling us that our rifle is silenced and that you can shoot cameras out without alarming the guards? Or how to get around an automatic gun turret without being seen? No One Lives Forever did a great job in this department, training you in the use of gadgets and various in-game activities before you're thrown out into the missions, preventing unnecessary replays just to figure out what to do.
I do play this game quite a bit, despite the high frustration factor, but by the time I'm forced to replay certain boneheaded parts of a mission the 30th time just because of one super-tough obstacle at the end, the enjoyment's sucked dry. They should have added more checkpoints along the missions. As it stands, this is a good game, but if you're only a casual game player like me instead of a thumb wizard, you better be prepared for multiple repetitive, eventually tiring replays.
Splinter Cell 2 Rocks!
Simply amazingSplinter Cell, however, does become slightly frusterating. You have to play and play and play to get to an area where you can save. If you're going to play it, make sure your gameboy has a full battery.
This is the best Gameboy Advanced game I have yet to play.

Great value for $...Graphics are generally solid, although not spectacular. The selection of cars is good, and the tracks are well designed. The buttons are a bit too sensitive, but the controls are nice.
Overall, not a fablous racer, but a good budget game.
Great game!I wish: replays had more than 1 angle of view; and the opposing cars were a little better competition; it's really too easy to win, even on "Legend" difficulty.
But none of that takes away from the fun of the game, and the great realism (which is what I look for). By the way, please use a Logitech Fore Feedback wheel to get the full experience. Happy racing!!
BRILLIANT NEW DRIVING GAME. A 'TOTAL BLAST'!!THE GAME FEATURES BEAUTIFUL VERSIONS OF SEBRING, SIVERSTONE AND A FEW OTHER LESSER KNOWN, BUT REALLY TRICKY EUROPEAN CIRCUITS.
GT, GTS AND LMP CARS ARE AVAILABLE. I WON'T GO INTO ALL THE NITTY GRITTY, BUT SUFFICE IT TO SAY A HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK WENT INTO CREATING A TERRIBLY ACCURATE SIMULATION MODEL. EACH CAR IS UNIQUE AND THE PROTOTYPES WHICH DEPEND MORE ON DOWNFORCE HANDLE
CHARACTERISTICALLY - WHICH FOR LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVERS MIGHT TAKE AWHILE TO GET THE KNACK FOR. THE GAME IS BEST PLAYED WITH THE LOGITECH WHEEL - ANYTHING LESS AND YOU'RE KIDDING YOURSELF IF YOU THINK YOU CAN GET A FEEL FOR WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON AS FAR AS HANDLING GOES. GRAPHICALLY THE GAME IS SOMWHERE IN BETWEEN THE OLD AND THE NEW - MEANING NOT QUITE AS SHARP AS GT3.
BUT IT IS VERY VISUALLY PLEASING NONETHELESS. THE CARS ARE WONDERFULLY REPRODUCED. THE AUDI R8, BENTLY EXP 8 , DOME PROTOTYPE, BMW V12 LMP AND PANOZ LMP ARE OUTSTANDING. THE ENGINE SOUNDS WILL TOTALLY KNOCK YOU OUT - ESPECAILLY THE SONIC
FORD V8 OF THE PANOZ WHICH IS LIKE AN AURAL HURRACAINE. THE REPLAY MODE IS SIMPLY SPECTACULAR AND RACES, PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING CAN BE RECORDED AND VIEWED - A GREAT FEATURE.
BOTTOM LINE IS THIS - IF YOU ARE INTO ARCADE TYPE HANDLING AND ABSOLUTE STATE OF THE ART GRAPHICS LOOK ELSEWHERE, BUT IF YOUR ARE A TRUE DRIVING AFFICIANADO WHO UNDERSTANDS A GOOD SIMULATION MODEL FROM A NOT SO GOOD ONE AND YOU ALSO DIG DRIVING ON WONDERFUL CIRCUITS THEN THIS MAY BE THE SLEEPER HIT OF THE YEAR.
CANNOT BE RECOMMENDED HIGHLY ENOUGH. HUGE PROPS TO ALL INVOLVED IN CREATING THIS GAME.

Surprisingly good for the most part
I like this fun and aggressive contra-style gamePlayers choose one of two characters to play as in this side-scrolling shooter. I love contra and metal slug style games, and I really like this game too. I am happy gameboy advance offers this game.
Gameplay: The two characters are similar. One is a Native American-his secondary weapon is an axe he can throw. The other character is a muscular rough and tough looking guy-his secondary weapon is a chain with a blade on the end that he swings out at bad guys. He can use this chain to hang from many ceilings. While hanging he can rock back and forth and then let go to fly forward. It's useful to reach some places.
The game plays fast and intense. I think its a ton of fun. Enemies spawn often, and it's fun to destroy them. Weapons include a pistol, machine gun, flame thrower, laser, heavy machine gun, shotgun, and rocket launcher. Players can also find a more powerful version of each gun. In the same order as the weapons, their powered-up versions are laser pistol, 3-way gun, green flame thrower with more power and longer reach, reflective laser, super heavy machine gun, 2-way shotgun that fires green flame, and homing rocket.
Weapons are found throughout the levels, and players can pick them up to add them to their arsenals.
Aside from running, players climb ladders and jump over pits and boulders while destroying enemies.
Occasionally a level is viewed from behind the character's shoulder like the terminator 2 arcade game. Players move a crosshairs to shoot bad guys. I like these occasional levels; they add some nice variety.
Graphics: I like the graphics. Most guns look great when they fire. THe shotgun expels a brilliant flame as it fires, and the three-way gun fires flashing bluish green lasers. THe rockets and regular pistol look good, but I expected more flair because contra in the arcade had more flair. THe bullets are yellow balls, and the rockets look like rockets, but they don't look ultra powerful to me.
THe foregrounds are nice with barracks, boulders, jungles, street lights, city streets, and other cool stuff.
The backgrounds look sharp; I really like the city level; I think it's the third level.
The characters and enemies look good, they could look a little sharper; I don't have a clear sense of their animations or bodies.
Overall I think the graphics do a good job; they work for me.
Sound: THe sound isn't bad, but it's not wonderful. Right now, I can't remember specific toons, but when I play, the music adds to the aggressive feelings I enjoy when I play.
Sound effects are fun, but do not stand out in my memory. I was hoping for deeper gun sound effects; many of them have a flat bang sound, and I was hoping for more exotic gun sound effects. I do like both shotgun sound effects.

Fun
Hockey Fans, This One is for YouI am a hockey fan so I appreciated all of the game elements that Atari included: Off-sides, line changes, 2 line passes, penalty box. I love being able to set my lines and change them as I play and not just between periods.
I can't say enough about the game play. They got it just right. 3 player and a goalie play for each side barring penalties. The contols are intuitive and you have room to pass it around for better shots or power it up for a big slap shot.
They could have made the AI more challenging for single player, and the NHL players that they included aren't all of my favorites, but neither of these problems should hold you back if you are a hockey fan and a fan of good game play.

The actual fighting moves vary from great to clumsy as hell, but for the most part they're entertaining. You can unlock bonuses by playing the different fighters through set "Episodes" of Death Match. I completed all six the first time through.
In the end it's fun, but there's very little replay value without a second person.
Pros: Well-animated, "claymation" violence; side-splitting commentary and taunts; Ron Jeremy providing his own voice; the ring designs.
Cons: Way too easy to complete; little replay value outside of player v.s. player; clumsy execution of certain fighting moves, including finales; the absence of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Stacey Kornbread (outside her undead cameo); the lack of "A"-list celebrities; the lack of celebrity bonus characters.

Nice, but lacking multi player varietyMost of the emphasis in this game has been put on its Scenario mode, in which you select a character and evolve with it as you race your opponents through a weak plot like storyline. It's nice, it's repetitive, it's slightly addictive, but it's not what this game is about.
Ever since they were first conspired, these games were always intended to function as multi-player games, period. Video gaming fun does not come any better than setting a trap for your friend at the top half of the split screen, only to watch him/her fall into it seconds later in the bottom half, which is exactly why I wanted to grab a copy of this game as soon as possible. However, it was the multi-player section of the game that disappointed me: It's quite undeveloped; all you can do is pick a race course (about 20 are available), pick the skill of the computerized competition, and race; no tournaments and no other sort of an evolution is offered. Soon enough, you and your friends are bored with the monotonous way of the game, and you end up looking for another game to feed your Xbox with, before your friends go home early. To add an insult to injury, most of the multi-player functionality is initially locked (only two race courses are available), and you have to play the Scenario mode on your own to uncover them, which sort of limits the appeal of this title as a short term rental.
Bottom line: A good title which could have been great fun if it had what it takes as a multi-player game.
