A good game.
Robopon rocks! But if you don't feel like commanding a tiny armanda of little, furry, fire-breathing creatures, than Robopon 2: Ring Version is the game for you.
Okay, so the concept of Robopon 2 copies Pokemon in nearly every single way-get a bunch of little, freakish critters, train them for battle, and blow opponents to pieces. But Robopon 2 takes this idea, and gives it a much more strategic edge.
Some differences are...
-An actual story this time! That's right-instead of walking around trying to win lots of battles, you have to reckon with a Robopon-wielding Ancient Egyptian mastermind, an evil scientist who wants to use his superior Robopon to take over the world, and, believe it or not, aliens from outer space.
-Instead of capturing Robopon out in the wild, you are now forced to search for batteries, hidden all over the land, and "spark" them to make more.
-Though I've never played the original Robopon, I've now figured out that most of the original critters have gone, and have been replaced by about 200 new ones, most new evolutions of the old ones. 200. Yes, you heard me right. Too bad Robby now doesn't have an evolution...
-Speaking of evolutions, there's now a serious downside to the whole idea. Though the Robopon is able to learn new techniques when it evolves (like launching a humongus, pheonix-shaped flame at it's enemies), but all it's stats, including it's level, is reduced by half. This adds A LOT to the gameplay.
-Instead of one (or sometimes two) Robopon fighting on the battlefield, you now can wage war with four. Yes, FOUR.
-There's a new twist to special attacks-oil types. Each Robopon has an oil type (like A, B, AB, etc.), and this seriously influences healing and damage dealing. For example, if you want to heal all of your Robopon in one swoop, the multiple Robopon must be of the healer's oil type. It's the same with dealing damage.
-Instead of having elemental types, there are now three robot types-Arm, Move, and Boot. Arm are basic, Move are fast but have low defence, and Boot have high defence, but can't be equipped with software and parts (which give you more attack and more special attacks). However, they learn more special attacks.
In other words, this game absolutely rocks. GET IT!

nice and fresh view on racing gamesif you loves Re-Volt, go and buy it!
SplendidI'm not a huge fan of conventional, realistic racing games. I gravitate toward the quirky titles, games that are more arcade-like than realistic or that have wacky, far-flung themes.
Of course, having the vehicles handle like actual R/C cars means even the most stable ones are a bit squirrely. This could easily prove frustrating to serious racing fans...but come on, if you're a serious racing fan, what are you doing playing Smash Cars in the first place? Go play GT3 or something.
But I prefer this one.

Not badThe in-car "cockpit" view is a nice touch, along with the ability to use the shoulder buttons to look to the left, right, and behind to see the cars around you. But you lose the look-around capability if you opt for manual transmission, which requires the shoulder buttons for shifting. You can also switch to the typical behind-the-car view.
I read somewhere that NFSPU was based on (or used the same engine as) one of the V-Rally games. I don't remember the details, or know how true that is. But the nicest graphics I have seen to date on the GBA were in V-Rally 3. Unfortunately, the gameplay in V-Rally 3 kind of sucked. NFSPU does not look as good as V-Rally 3, but the gameplay is a bit better.
There are far worse racing games for the GBA than this one. But this one is not the best. Overall, I still prefer NFSU.
A TOTALLY HOT RACING GAME!!!If you like the Need for speed series then buy it now. It is a really good game and I really liked it.
Cross your fingers!

Surprisingly Pleasant!Seriously, OT doesn't do anything that FFT, TO, or RE hasn't done already and 100 times betters. BUT, OT is a necessary reminder that games don't have to get 'crazy' with interfaces and complex storylines. In fact, that's its strength!
Cons:
Game play is a watered down version of FFT and TO. The storyline is straight forward and LINEAR, and the introduction of "out-of-left-field-characters-that-you-didn't-know-existed-whom-come-into-the-picture-arbitrarily" takes away depth. Music is mediocre, and the graphics are sprite like - can't really mess THAT up. :) And, it has poor player development. You can't backtrack, and you can't explore the world.
Pros:
So, what's so good about OT? Visually beautiful (especially the handpainted character shots), tricky/cunning AI (at times), simple interface (this means a lot ppl, trust me), culturally DIFFERENT setting (i.e. story takes place IN Japan - how many games do you see that???), interesting story telling style (not to be confused with the actual storyline - OT uses a non-conviential way of telling a story and putting you in the action. It's like a cartoon.), and an overslimplified way of obtaining and upgrading weapons, armors, and items!
IMHO, you have to look at OT like this: You're in, you're out, and you're done! That's it. Don't look to this game for intricate battle systems and complex boards, bosses or whatever. Look to this game as an oasis, a vacation spot, away from the hectic and detailed nature of other games like its kind.
Simple, yet fun.

Competition, Rayman StyleAs you progress through the 1-Player mode, more features will be unlocked, such as new stages, new characters, and ways to alter the way characters look.
In multi-player mode, you get to play with the characters you have found (5 original, 3 hidden) in the stages you have accessed (annoying for people who just play games for the multi-player modes).
One of the things I didn't really care for in Rayman Arena is that in 1-Player mode, the challenges can get somewhat boring since the same challenges are in every stage. Also, the 1-Player mode is not very long.
Let's put it this way: It's better to receive Rayman Arena as a gift than to buy it yourself.
Never gets boring

I would have rated this 5 stars, but for pre-reading kids, you need to go through and start the game for them each time.
One of top 3 rated games in Nintendo Power when releasedWhen it came out, it was one of the top rated games in Nintendo Power...GameBoy Advance or otherwise. The developer also did Sabrina, and the publisher was Knowledge Adventure division of Vivendi, and they know kids.
It's challenging for the older kids, but the easy level will let the player be Billy Blazes and put out fires without much worry about dying, and that's going to be fun.
I doubt anyone is ever going to spend as much money as they probably did on a Rescue Heroes game again, so get it before it leaves the shelf.

- Build your gang in a post apocalyptic world and battle anyone who gets in your way

But, after playing it for 5 hours so far and having completed the first city (there's a total of 3), I can say it's worth it. It all boils down to searching for hidden pieces of weapons and car blueprints, and also completing missions, that ultimately brings this game to life, much alike GTA3.
You may have to disable the rumble feature at times because when enemies chase you, they chase you, which at times cannot be avoided.. and the machinegun fire on your tail virtually turns your controller into a vibrator..
And, as the above reviewer said, lots and lots of gore and profanity.
I have to say, I was completely blown away by how deep and well executed this game is. The graphics are outstanding (especially the explosions), the car control is perfect for the type of game it is. The missions are well designed and lots of fun. The cut scenes are hilarious.
I think I'm about two thirds through the single player mission sequences with about 15 hours played so far. That said, there's tons of things for me to still find in the environments outside of the actual missions.
I spent six hours straight playing the multiplayer modes with friends the other night and this has IMMEDIATELY become our favorite multiplayer game. We haven't had this much fun with multiplayer games since Goldeneye back on the N64.
About the only caveat I have is that this is a SUPER mature title. The profanity and gore is off the charts. It is definitely not a title for the kiddies.

yay a motorcycle game for gamecube! If possible, rent/borrow/pretend to play this game before you buy it. Although i hate to recommend such a thing for a gamecube game (a motorcycle one at that!! there is only one other: Extreme G3), it is necessary in this case. I would even suggest that players contact the developers of this game and complain about whichever aspects of the game are undeniably horrible. Hopefully the sequel will be comparable to Burnout 2 or Midnight Club2**. And Yes, this game is somewhat similar to the Road Rash series. ( play burnout 2 instead of this game; it is much better.) I purchased this game because:
- i enjoyed burnout 2
- i own a motorcycle
THE BAD:
1) cannot see beyond most turns.
2) timer always present, always racing against checkpoints, not opponents or stunt targets.
3) traffic unforgiving, but predictable after 2nd attempt
4) AI opponents (always) on your ass. Crash once = 2th place.
5) menu, navigational glitches everywhere
6) 'boost' is blinding, cannot steer reliably while boosting
7)playtesters are morons. they are to blame for everything.
8)Rumble feature is horribly inconsistent with visuals
THE GOOD:
a) sense of speed/crashes
b) stunts are awesome! (i like kicking over the computers bikes!)
c) graphics amazing
d) license levels
e) custom choice of bike/rider color schemes
f) euro-driving atmosphere
g) soundtrack ok
I would not pay more than $20 (w/ shipping) for this game. It is fun, but in an aggravating, annoying, self-destructive kind of way (sorta like f-zero for snes in king mode). My girlfriend refused to watch me play because of the graphic depiction of motorcyclist accidents and catastrophes ;) . Read the reviews of this game for other systems to better inform yourself.
*Only flaw with GC version is slight slow-down in heavy traffic with multiple-opponents
** I have not yet played Midnight Club 2, but i hear there are motorcycles in it.
Awsome Motor cycle game!!!!Buy it its not expensive its worth it

Your Mission: Play this game!GamePlay/Story:(9/10 stars) The Story of the game follows the same story as the movie. You play the game as Juni and your goal is to go into the video game "Game Over" to find your sister Carmen. The game is divided into 4 worlds which each have 3 levels in each (Total of 12 levels). You can choose how many continues you have (You can choose up to 7)but unfortunatley you only have 3 lifes which means you can die very easily on the harder levels.
Control:(10/10) The controls in this game are very easy! The they are very fast and do not drag out which makes fighting easier.
3-D effects:(7/10) Okay, to be honest this isn't the version of the game that I truly wanted. I actually wanted the PC version bacause I figured the 3-D would be, well.....more "3-D" than the GBA version. But after searching continuously for the Pc version and only finding the GBA version, I just decided to buy this one. The 3-D wasn't all that bad. No, it isnt "up in your 3-D" but it is very noticeably 3-D. My only problems are that 1 or 2 of the images didn't look 3-D at all, the 3-D cards are in odd places, and the pictures aren't actually pictures from the movie they are just pictures of objects from the movie. The 3-D is still good though. (By the way, 15 images in all).
Graphics:(8/10) I tought the grapics were okay, not the best. There are some other games that have way better grapics than this. But there was a lot of color and the backgrounds were alright so i guess the graphics were pretty good!
Frustration Level: (9/10) I will admit this game can get a bit frustrating! But if you have the patience to deal with it, it will be fine. The main frustrating thing is that you only have 3 lives and if you run out, its back to the beggining of the level you go!!!!! This might not be good for younger players. But great for older, more experienced players who like a challenge!!
So as you can see this is a great game with only a few little flaws. By the way, On July 25th McDonalds will be selling Spy kids 3-D toys with codes for this game. This game is great for any spy kids fan!!!!!
IT LOOKS GREAT from Keegan Wolfe
