They didn't just remake the game, they IMPROVED the game
I started off discovering Shining Force II back on the old Genesis system, so of course when I fell in love with that game I turned quickly to the old Shining Force I. I really didn't like it as much, it just was more bland and annoying (particularly the promotion aspect). So I was a bit hesistant with this game (which is, if you haven't picked up on it by now, a remake of the Genesis Shining Force I). However, when I did finally get it and played it I was amazed with the improvements added to the remake.

First of all, this game has added in clear bonuses. Before each battle the game will lay out the victory conditions and also give you a clear bonus (usually to win the battle in a certain number of turns). Accomplishing that clear bonus nets you either cash or a weapon that cannot be bought for another town or two. These clear bonuses really spice up battles, as it's no longer a matter of whether you can win or not (you almost always can) but whether you can win FAST enough (which is not nearly as easy).

The second major improvement is cards. There are 55 player and boss cards strewn about the world for you to find. The player cards are obtained by searching through towns and talking to people while the boss cards are obtained by killing bosses with certain people landing the final blow. Hunting these cards obviously adds a lot, but it doesn't stop there. A new character, Mawlock, has been added to the game. Mawlock's big draw is that he EQUIPS these cards and they give him various attributes etc. So not only can you now hunt for cards, you can use them in a variety of different ways to customize a character's abilties.

And the final big improvement is the revamping of the promotion system. In the old Genesis version promoting your main charcter made him so weak he could only stand on the back lines and watch. This has thankfully been taken care of and promotions, while they do weaken your characters a bit at first, are made much, much more managable.

If you played either of the original Shining Force games for the Genesis this is a must-have game. For those new to the strategy RPG realm, this is a quality game to start in on as well. With the new remakes and improvements this is not only one of the best RPGs for the GBA, but one of the best RPGs out there right now period. This is a game every RPG fan should have.

Excellent game and excellent remake!
Shining Force was released in 1993 on the Sega Genesis system. It was basically the strategy RPG game that started the genre that includes Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, and others.

Shining Force was an excellent game with great characters, battles, plot, and everything else you'd expect and desire. I, personally, spent countless hours engaged with the game, never wanting to put it down or stop.

The ensuing sequels and prequels to the game never really captured what the original did, however. But, a new jumpstart to the game has arrived. Now on the Gameboy Advance, Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is a direct port from the Genesis version, but contains very nice updated graphics, sounds, AI, story elements, gameplay elements, and more. The new features don't destory the game and make it some 2004 version, rather it takes what the game was and improves upon it.

This game and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance are both extremely entertaining and excellent Gameboy Advance strategy RPGs. Make sure you pick up Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon, because you'll be glad you did, and because it's one of the best strat-RPGs ever created. This is a five-star game all the way!

A great Old school RPG get even better!
A great game gets remade and boy does it look good!

Sound- 4.5 out of 5
the music and sound effects are great but the reason i gave it a 4.5 is because it seems like they tried to do such a nice job on the music in the game but really not many people would notice it because really not many people play gameboy with sound in the first place, it just waste the batteries

Story 5 out of 5
The story in this game is still the original Shining Force but is given a small twist with 3 new characters being a ninja, a guru, and even get this a guy who does special tricks with these cards i gave it a five because it all flowed in with the original story perfectly!

Graphics 5 out of 5
the graphics in this game are wonderful for a gameboy advanced game, they are mainly like the graphics from shing force CD only with all new battle sprites witch give the game a new and even better look

Replay Value 5 out of 5
I thought that this desserved a special section all for itself. a Very nice new feature is (SPIOLERS!!!) every time you beat the game there will be a new option opened up called new game+ where the difficulty of the game get harder and every time you beat it it gets harder making you want to test your abilities.

Mainly if you are a fan of games like Advanced Wars, Fire Emblem or Golden Sun you will love this game and play it for hours and hours nonstop!

Avery Cardozas' Slam - Tilt Pinball
If you only could buy one pinball game, this would be the one to have. A great game! You have to purchase the original Cardoza game though (a two CD set). Available new from Cardoza Publishing. The single CD sold here by Expert Software will not download.(I know, I bought a copy here first and tried it on many systems, getting same error message).

    Top Drawer Pinball!
I'm no expert, but I've bought most of the available pinball games and Avery Cardoza's Slam-Tilt Pinball is definitely in the top ranks! The flexibility of the game is overwhelming. The quality of the graphics is dazzling. The physics are almost perfect. I would highly recommend this game!

      Brilliant fishing game.
This is the best fishing game I have ever played. Probably the best part about it is the graphics of the fish and the way they fight like crazy on the line. It is a real 'gamers' fishing game. Hardly any waiting around like in the other games, here it is all action and lot of fun. There are even underwater power ups for you to use! The backgrounds and rivers are really good, and the music is awesome. If you are thinking about getting a fishing game for your ps1 (or even PS2!) get this one, its very very good fun.

Great addition to PSX fishing games
I played this game at a toy fair recently. This game has a real arcade feel to it, that means it is FUN!
I had a blast playing this game, the fish look awesome and the fishing areas look great. The music is awesome too, when you get a huge muskellenge on the line and the music starts pumping, it really gets the adrenaline going. As far as I know this is also the first fishing game with POWER UPS ! This is an awesome feature, and adds an extra skill level to the whole thing. Unlike a lot of other fishing games, this one has lots of different ways to fish, and tons of different fish. They all act really realistic too, and pulling them in gets harder as you proceed thru the levels. If you enjoy fishing games, and even if you don't, you will like this one. I did.

      Best Yet!
... I am a HUGE fan of Nancy Drew PC games. I have played the following (I'm not sure if they're in the right order):

1.Secrets Can Kill (finished in half a year)
2.Stay Tuned For Danger (finish in 2 months)
3.Message in a Haunted Mansion (finished in almost 2 weeks)
4.Treasure in a Royal Tower (finished in 4 days)
5.Final Scene (finished in 3 days)

My favorite was "Treasure in a Royal Tower". It was very exciting. I think that the characters in this particular game were very interesting. With secret passage ways, dangerouse blizzards, and a thief on the loose, you really feel like a detective! ...

      Tough Puzzle
This is a "kids'" game in that Nancy Drew is a character from children's literature, but this game is not strictly for kids. My husband bought it for me for the nostalgia factor-- I devoured Nancy Drew books as a child; I thought the game would be cute, and I'd finish it in an afternoon. I was so wrong. This puzzle requires a sharp eye and good memory, as well as the ability to plan ahead.

It has different levels of play, making the game more or less difficult, and I chose the most difficult. The game took me several weeks to finish-- and it was several weeks of fun.

The game is not violent, nor very scary, and I'd recommend it for any kid who likes Nancy Drew-- but a kid should choose the easier level of play.

If you are an adult, who was a Nancy Drew fan as a kid, you'll love this game as well.

Anyone who likes puzzle-type RPG adventures that don't have shoot-'em-ups requiring fast keyboard or joystick action would probably enjoy this game as well.

        New E.T. games are great!!!!
Ok, although I dont have this E.T. yet, I fully intend on buying it the day I can. The gameboy advance game is great! Its more of an adventure game than this title is, but the graphics are nice, and E.T.'s animations are hilarious! NewKidCo is doing a fantastic job on all the kids games recently, and I see no reason why this will stop. Check out Tom and Jerry, or the Muppets games too. Video games that teach something other than violence, keep it up!

        Great Game!!!
Important lessons learned along the way with this game that inspires constructive resolution rather than competition. Excellent message for kids and fun along the way.

        where's the reviews?
This is one of the most inovative products I've ever played with!... well, not the cord itself, but the link capibility between your gamecube and gameboy advanced! Played Metroid Prime or Fusion? Maybe you have, but you havn't experienced it all until you've linked your GBA to your Gamecube! You can unlock the original Metroid! Played Animal Crossing? Not until you've designed your own cloths through your Gameboy, or played the fun little mini games! These are just a few games that take advantage of the link cable. Other games like Zelda, the Wind Waker, and the future Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicals. This link cable makes good games GREAT.

        Gray Dual Shock 2 Controller
        Made by Sony Computer Entertainment
          Amazon base price: $24.99
          Used price: $9.99
Buy one from zShops for: $8.98
The layout of PlayStation2's Dual Shock 2 controller is nearly identical to that of the original PlayStation's Dual Shock controller, which is good news for most gamers. The main new feature is that, when the buttons are pushed, the controller can register how much pressure is being exerted. This adds a completely new dimension to sports, racing, fighting, and more games. Aside from the Start and Select buttons, all of the functions are analog for greater control, a wider variety of operations, and a more compelling interactive experience. Two convex analog thumb pads and two force-feedback solenoid rumblers round out the features. This controller is also compatible with all software that supports the original Dual Shock controller.

          Great
I love the new Gray Dual Shock 2 Controller its see though and a lot easier to handel than the controller that came with my Playstation2.

          Best thing ever to happen!
First of all the PS2 controller is the best controller because it is not to big (X Box Controller) and it is not to small (GameCube Controller). It also is not to complicated, I mean, my 4 year old brother can even use it right. Plus now that they have made it see-through with color, it is even better than before.

          Humm...ble
          Made by TaliCor
            Amazon base price: $26.99
            List price: $29.99 (that's 10% off!)
Selected by Games Magazine as a Best New Party Game, this tuneful board game will have your crowd humming, la-la-ing, and sometimes play-acting their way to the finish. It all depends on how musically knowledgeable you and your teammates are. Each of the 250 small playing cards lists song titles in five categories: Broadway Musicals, Folk & Family Favorites, Oldies, TV & Movies, and Contemporary. As teams go around the colorful music note game board, they land on category boxes. The designated guessers then attempt to name the song title from the category, which the designated hummer tries to convey. A turn of the enclosed plastic timer allows a mere 30 seconds to hum tunes as well known as "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or as obscure as "Walk the Dinosaur." This game is an entertaining choice for people who enjoy multiple musical genres. --Liane Thomas

            Great party opener!
I've had this game for about 8 years and am still bringing it to every party and every retreat I go to. It's hysterical to see how our really good singers (I'm in a Choir and other musical groups) can't get their tune recognized but our self-proclaimed tin ears somehow manage to. I hope they come out with some new cards soon though, I've been through mine now, and the "Contemporary" music category is a bit out-dated! Still, its a great, fun, party game.

            Tons of Fun!!!
We have played this game with all ages ranging from 8-74. It is our favorite game to play when the family gets together. For those who feel inhibited about "humming", acting out the songs is a perfectly acceptable way to get the answer. It is a riot to see and hear the creative way we all "hum" of "la-la-la" or "do, do, do"!!!

The best-playing game for the playstation
Do you want to soar heights that no human has ever gone before? Is it your dream to touch the sky, watching the whole planet gradually increase its size from underneath your feet? Me too, and the Jumping Flash series is the best thing in doing that without having to jump out of a plane. The basic premise of its gameplay is a Doom perspective on completely 3-D cartoon worlds, where everything and anything can be airborne. The object of each level is to find the 4 muumuus scattered across each massive world, and then to find the exit launch pad. This isn't as straightforward as it appears on paper, because the muumuus can be 3000 feet in the air, on mysterious floating platforms (sometimes even floating whales) that soar way above the rest of the level. No sweat though - your character, a mechanical bunny named Robbit, has extra special jumping powers that will allow Robbit to reach those platforms. The triple jump of Robbit is so effectively used that it will make many gamers feel queasy. It's one of the most thrilling feelings you can experience on your Playstation. My only complaints are that the game, like the first Jumping Flash, is both a bit too easy and a bit too short. But that's because the game plays so smoothly and offers so much in pure fun that you wish the game could go on forever. Don't be turned off by its cutesy appearance - this game is an absolute must-have.

              Lots O fun
This is what you get when you take doom and mix it with a cartoon surounding. The humor is second to none. You play a mechanical bunny who fights a giant bannanna in a tu tu. And that's just the begining

                VERY DISAPPOINTED
We purchased this to replace another brand that never worked. This one didn't either!!! The CD player would not work at all because the top would not stay shut. Also, very difficult to load the CD properly because did not fit well and was wobbly. I have been very frustrated trying to find a relatively inexpensive CD Karaoke for my 7 year old. Will probably just go ahead and spend the extra 20-30 bucks at this point for more durability since my 7 year old is so upset that she still has no Christmas gift. Such a shame- this has so many great features for such a good price!

                This Is A Great Toy
