Entertaining, but challengingI don't usually buy games like "The Sims" for Gamecube. I like more adventure games like "Starfox Adventures"(which buy the way is AWESOME!) I'd say, if you're a fan of startegy games, a huge fan of "The Sims", and have A LOT of patience, go for it and buy this game. Patience is key for this game. It takes a long time to advance. I, having none what so ever, got bored very quick.

very goodSome missions like defending the base from attackers are great fun, and while some characters are over the top the game manages to keep you going on for more. It is not too long either, a plus in my book.
great FPS gameFor the real review, the graphics are excellent, the sounds are very realistic, and the gameplay is is really good. It is like you signed up and got shipped over to Vietnam. The drill sergeant yells at you and insults you. All around it is a realistic non Doom, Quake, Unreal game fun tactics game.
most excellent game
- Dynamic and innovative 1st person-action/adventure brings a level of reality unprecedented in a videogame
- Biotech modifications allow players to see through walls, leap 40 feet into the air, or regenerate critical body damage
- Globe-hop to real world locations such as Seattle, Antarctica, and Cairo
- Cunning stealth gameplay, with darkness and sound affecting enemy awareness
- For 1 player

A different sort of shooterThe sound and graphics are very good, but many areas are dark. The Biomods which give you certain advantages in the game end up being of little use due to their high energy drain and a lack of energy cells (plus, unlike clips in the guns, the energy cells do not automatically load when they run out).
My biggest complaint has to be the combat. I don't mind combat being dangerous, but if they are going to make it that way, it should be true for both sides. When I sneek up behind a guard and pop him in the back of the head, that should be it. He shouldn't be spinning around and firing at me with his SMG. Other than that, I've been having a good time with the game.
Deus Ex Newbie is Blown AwayI never played Ion Storm's original Deus Ex. Or to be more accurate, I didn't play enough of it to be able to make a worthwhile comparison. I read some previews of the new game, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and became really intrigued: it didn't sound like anything I'd played before. I began to wonder if I should play the original first. About this time, word starting spreading about changes made to the game design - changes that many fans of the first were very displeased with. Once hearing this, I decided I'd forego playing the first and dive into IW cold - I wanted to play the game for its own merits without judging it against its predecessor (no matter how superior the original game was touted to be). Since my home computer can't handle the PC version of the game, I played the Xbox version by default. As a result of this process, this may seem like a naive review, as I can't comment on anything regarding the previous game, but on the other hand, I am judging it on its own, without comparison.
Intro over.
It's very difficult to say anything specific about IW regarding the plot, because so much of the plot is tied directly to the actions and decisions of the player. But I can say that the game starts off with a bang. Almost immediately you are wondering whom to trust, which path to take, what items to use. The rules of the IW universe are explained at the beginning, but only in brief terms: for the large part, the player is left to fend for him/herself (you can choose Alex D's sex). The game manual is quick to point out that there are no "right" or "wrong" choices in IW - events unfold, doors are opened and closed, and the story changes depending on what Alex D decides. Should you side with Group 1, knowing it will anger Group 2? How will your decision affect the future? It's very rare that any game allows this kind of freedom to players, and at time it's almost overwhelming (especially at the beginning). But the further you progress, the more sense things make, the stronger your character's identity becomes, and you begin to appreciate more and more what Ion Storm has accomplished.
Alex D. is an agent who is able to be fitted with biomodification canisters, five in all, one for a specific region of the body. These "biomods" give Alex superhuman abilities, ranging from enhanced speed or strength to limited invisibility, among others. Illegal black-market biomods are particularly interesting. The biomods allow the player to tailor Alex to be a stealthy type of agent, a virtual "Terminator", or something in between. Adding to this customization is a range of equipment (firearms, swords, grenades, etc) which can also be upgraded to suit a particular style of play. This system is brilliant because in the world of IW, nothing is straight-forward - there are many ways to pass obstacles. Alex D. can charge into a heavily guarded room with guns blazing, sneak through air shafts, or hack into a security system and cause automated turrets to fire upon "friendlies." And these are just a few of the many options. You never feel forced to take any single path in IW - an amazing feat, especially when you consider the depth of the story - and experimentation is often rewarded.
IW may seem shorter than most RPGs, but you must remember that this game is almost designed to be replayed. You can reach any one of several endings in almost countless ways.
Invisible War is a beautiful game. No, it doesn't run at a particularly high frame-rate, but the environments are so detailed and so interactive, it's a small price to pay - you'll cease to notice it unless you're really making an effort to look for it. The vaunted Havok physics engine can be pretty silly, but it makes the world that much more immersive and allows for a lot of creativity on the part of the player. The lighting is 100% real-time, and is probably the best to be seen to date. Player models are convincing - not perfect, perhaps, but they get the job done very well. All told, the IW engine performs very well. The fact that it can look as good as it does while allowing for so much in-game experimentation is quite an achievement.
Sound-wise, there's little to complain about. There's a lot of voice-acting in IW, and while not Pixar-caliber, it does a fine job of maintaining the immersion. Elevator music plays in elevators, conversations can be heard everywhere, and a nice, dark, ambient soundtrack adds to the mood. Weapons and manipulated items all fit in perfectly.
So there's a newbie's take. Playing IW was some of the most fun I've had in the interactive media, mostly due to the high level of freedom the player is presented with. Is it a perfect game? No - but honestly, what is? I wasn't quite sure what to expect going in, but I came away with the strong conclusion that Deus Ex: Invisible War is not only a masterfully crafted game. It's a personalized experience. It's not only one of the best game's I've played this year, it's one of the best I've ever played.
Now to track down the original. Can it possibly live up to Invisible War?? I can't wait to find out.
Quality gaming.

Awesome Bond GameThe game is mad fun for the 1-player mode. You see the screen as if out of your eyes, meaning you don't see yourself- only the view in front of you. This style of play allows an awesome shooting game. Throughout the levels, you must stop Drake and his men from their evil plots, which means ALOT of gun action and suspense. It is a very fun and non-stop action.
This game has excellent graphics, the music is awesome, and the "suspense music" allows thrilling fights to be amplified. The sounds of the guns and the effects are just amazing. Mostly the game is very fun to play. Shooting with the many guns experienced are just fun. The vairety of guns are amazing from the Sniper Rifle, to the Grenades, the tribombs and mines, to the pistols, to my favorite: the rocket launcher. The game is one of the best in the action.
The coolest thing about Nightfire is the multi-player action. There is just so much to do. Various modes include the Death Match, Team Arena, King Of The Hill, Assasination, and much more. There are awesome gameplay options that allow mini-vecihles: helicopters and tanks, and there are plenty of other options. You can choose the types of guns in each level or make them completly random. You can customize computer opponents, and play on various stages.
Nightfire is an excellent game, and I certaintly reccomend it to any action-shooting game fans. Bond rules, and so does this awesome video game.
BEST BOND EVER! BETTER THAN GOLDENEYE!Graphics: 5 out of 5
The graphics in this game are superb. The models look exactly like the actors and actresses (except for Q, I don't know what they did with him). The weapons are astounding! You get BOTH a PP7 AND PPK! Awsome!
Sound: 5 out of 5
The weapon sounds are awsome, the soundtracks are even better! The only problem is that bond's voice doesn't sound ;like bond, but it's not that bad. The other sounds make up for that.
Multi-player: 5 out of 5
Multiplayer is awsome. You get many many many game types to choose from. You also get many James Bond Characters to choose from, such as:
Bond (obviously)
Goldfinger
Scaramanga
Nick Nack
Oddjob
Pussie Galore
Renard
Electra King
Christmas Jones
Jaws
Baron Samedai
Wai Lin
Max Zorin
and more! You also get classic bond places to choose from such as:
Fort Knox (from Goldfinger)
Atlantis (from The Spy who Loved me)
Missile silo (from The World is not enough)
Submarine (from The World is not Enough)
and more!
Lengthetivity: 4 out of 5
Although you will be playing this game for months, the single-player isn't that long.
Fun Factor: 5 out of 5
The best bond game ever.
So, buy this game if you are a bond fan! My only complaint is that you don't get the Soviet AK-47, like in all other bonds (especially goldeneye), but the superb weapon designs and sounds make up for it. Buy now!

This game sucks
Great Game with many cool features but problems lag gameThe problems that have lagged this game are the gameplay mechanics. Problems include late game heroics where you could have a lead and the CPU cheats to win on the Madden diffuculity. You could have a lead against the LIONS 21 to 0 and the game cheats at the end to make the lion win. Very frustrating. Configuring your controller can take days to record and memorize them all and they should simplify this because no one has time to remember these all.
Graphics A-
Owner mode A
Playmaker Control A-
Francise/ Mini-Camps modes A-
Gameplay C+
Overall Madden gets a B+
I still recommend this game because on the PC resources are limited... still a terrific game

BUGS...WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE BUGS?1. GOOD FIGHT ANIMATIONS-really captures Indy's wild, drunken fighting style. I also loved how Indy's hat would fall off after he would get punched many times.
2. GOOD CHOICE OF WEAPONS-a nice touch is the ability to use weapons dropped from your enemies.
3. MUSIC-John Williams' classic score is integrated well during key points of action.
CONS:
1. MEDIOCRE GRAPHICS-the textures are muddy. So much so that I had to increase the sharpness level of my TV just to make sure it wasn't causing the problem. Again, XBox owners get leftovers from a PS2 ported game.
2. HORRID FRAME RATE-the game stutters all over the place when there are more than two enemies on the screen at once.
3. HORRID COLLISION DETECTION-Indy and enemies will magically teleport through walls and floors
4. BLOCKY PLAYER MOVEMENT-despite the good fighting animations, Indy's movements tend to skip a few frames.
5. UNINSPIRED CUT SCENES USING IN-GAME GRAPHICS-the cut scenes would have been negligible had the graphics engine been more than decent. Whatever happened to CGI, movie-quality cut scenes?
6. RIGID VOICE ACTING-the actor playing Indy sounds exactly like Harrison Ford's tired drawl. However, he also sounds like he's reading the script rather than acting it out. The same goes for the other voice actors.
7. REPETITIOUS LEVEL DESIGN-there's too much emphasis on jumping from ledge to ledge and swimming.
8. BUGS, BUGS, BUGS, I HATE BUGS!-the game tends to freeze every once in awhile which is inexcusable. Lucasarts' quality assurance department should be fired.
*1/2 OUT OF ****
All shall be pleased with this gamePros: 1. It's Indiana Jones! AGAIN!
2. a mass array of weapons to choose from
3. fight Chinese, Turks, and, of course, NAZIS!
4. a good problem solving game
5. an Indiana Jones type of plot
6. superb acting
7. Suprisingly addictive
8. and yes, an excellent music score
Cons: 1. Save Points poorly placed
2. killing people can be tedious later in the game (dont even think about killing people with the whip.)
3. Challenges can be confusing to younger gamers.
Final Verdict: I order you to rent this game! Avid fans, casual fans, or people who dont even know who played Indy Jones in the movies will be entertianed. if an Indy addict or an archaeologist, Buy it Immediately!
AwesomeThe graphics are stunning, the sound is terrific...all in all, a great game!
