EA Sports Messed Up On This One
I would just like to say that i am a huge EA Sports fan and that all their games i have played have been entertaining and have great quality and are not complex. Then, here comes MVP Baseball 2004. Some pros and cons:

Pros: Graphics are great ballparks and players look very realistic and sharp.

New EA Sports Big Play Control is cool. You get to dive for hit balls and slide into bases. Then after the players will have grass and dirt stains on their jersey and pants making the atmosphere feel real.

Cons: As you can see the 2 pros there are is just about the graphics and sliding and diving. The most cons in the game are of gameplay.

The game is difficult and the worst part is its not one of those where its hard the first day and after that it becomes easy. I've had the game for 2 months and still have it on rookie with user batting, fielding and speed up to 50 and the cpu's all on negative 50 and i STILL lose sometimes. The cpu just bats too well. They always hit grounders in gaps and you get get it then throw it into the base in time.

Also, piching is hard. You have no clue where the ball is gonna go. Example, sliders are supposed to go from one side to another, well my slider went in a whole another direction, it was more like a knucle ball.Have the time you hit the batter and get tossed but it was not even supposed to go near him, but the pitches are unnatural.

Now dont think im a sore looser. I love challenges. And thats what most EA Sports games have. But it is just frustrating to have a 10 run lead in the bottom of the ninth then the comes back and wins. Its possible. It can happen. But it cant happen in every game in real life, but does in this game.

Hopefully, their future versions of this game are better. I wont buy MVP Baseball for a couple years, but I will continue to purchase the other EA Sports games. I do hope the other EA games dont become this hard and fustrating.

Thank you for reading my review.

EA SPORTS AT IT'S BEST!
For years I have been a fan of the "All-Star" baseball games. When 2004 came around, I was hoping Acclaim would release All-Star 2005 for Gamecube and they didn't. So I was stuck with All-Star 2004. Then this new game came out called "MVP Baseball 2004" created by EA Sports, which was the game that was to replace All-Star. I finally rented the game because all my friends were bragging about how great the gameplay and graphics are. THEY WERE RIGHT! After 2 days of using the game, I was hooked. I bought my own copy before the rental was even due back.

I started my season with Baseball's greatest team, the NEW YORK YANKEES. I created my player to replace Soriano at 2B. I got my whole bullpen of All-Stars and my ultimate line-up of MLB's greatest players.

Here are the Best Features of the game:

Graphics - The faces, the uniforms, the stadiums, everything looks so real. Every time I play this game on my 36" TV, my parents mistake the game for a real-life Yankee game.

Gameplay - The pitching is unbeatable. The different types of pitches are extremely realistic as to the movement, the spin of the ball and the speed. The cool thing is if you pay close attention in instant replay, you'll notice the spin of the ball goes with the pitch. If the pitch is a curve, the spin is the real-life spin of a curve. The amazes me a lot. The small details like that are cool. The pitching gets a few tries to become an expert at. Also the baserunning and fielding is extremely realistic. The awsome jumps, dives, slides, and flips are utterly amazing. If you see Derek Jeter in action in this game, you'll see what I mean. The hitting does take some time to get used to. You don't have a hitting circle to line up with the ball to hit. It's not too hard to adapt to.

Features - This game features some gameplay modes that no other baseball game features. The first one is Homerun Showdown. Your up against any batter of your choice. The object is hit up to a certain amount of distance total from all your hits before your opponent does. For example, the total distance is 1 Mile. With all the distances of your hits adding up, you have to hit a total of 5,280 feet before the other guy. Be careful. If you hit a foul ball, you total will decrease based on the distance of the foul ball. If you miss a pitch swinging, you lose 100 ft.

The next feature and my personal favorite, the Pitcher's showdown. You can be any pitcher you choose and you pick the pitcher you're up against. You have to get a certain amount of strikeouts against any batter you choose before the computer. If the batter gets a homerun, you lose a strikeout.

There are so many new features in this game I can't even list all of them. This game definitely has All-Star Baseball beat by a mile.

Buy this game and you will find out why EA Sports is the BEST and always will be.

Great Baseball Game
This is a fun, addicting game which is easy to learn, and continues challenging you through 4 different levels of skill. There are many different modes of play, including Manager Mode (control your team and make game decisions without actually controlling individual players), Dynasty mode, Exhibition, Homerun Showdown and Pitcher showdown. The hitting style is fun and simple. Unlike other games, it is not impossible to make contact. Also, the pitching style of this game is different from other games. It is harder to learn, but gives you more control of your pitcher. Another thing is that all players are edit-able. You can even create players.

Some minor cons: The commentators are dull, repetitive and somtimes frustrating, the music, although good, can get tiring and the ball can disappear in instant replays.

But that shouldn't stop you from buying it! This is the only fun, challenging and realistic baseball game for the Nintendo Gamecube and I highly recommend it.

In baseball, if a pitcher starts losing control the manager yanks him. It’s a smart thing to do because baseball tends to flow in streaks. This is why EA Sports came out to the mound and pulled the ailing Triple Playseries. Never a critical favorite, it was too arcade and not enough simulation. Triple Play just wasn't performing, and fans were beginning to notice what the other baseball sims were doing better (almost everything). So rookie MVP 2003 trots out to the mound for its day in the sun. It’s a step in the right direction.

MVP looks great. The field, players, and animations are all smooth and realistic looking. Instead of placing the camera directly behind the batter in the default view, they’ve gone for a slightly tilted camera that better simulates a batter’s view of the ball screaming in. The only graphical glitch is that the batting box is too small visually. Curves don’t break correctly, change-ups don’t drop enough, and this just plain looks weird. However, the mini-diamond that shows the situation (including how much of a lead the opposing team's runners take) is just about perfect.

Rather than simply demanding you keep your eye on the ball, MVP has a batting box that predicts where the ball will go. This makes hitting too easy and pitching a bit too hard. A pitcher has too little time to get the ball icon within the strike zone. Other sims do it better. The other problem is with fielding. You have decent control (they avoided World Series Baseball’s rookie error) but changing players is neither quick nor easy and the game forces your player to dive when you don’t want to. Tossing it back to base isn’t as intuitive or smooth as it should be either. You’ll get used to it but, again, other games do it much better.

MVP is a strong debut but it just isn’t a contender for the Hall of Fame.--Andrew S. Bub

    Pros:

    • Great graphics
    • Realistic baseball action
    • Franchise mode
    Cons:
    • Pitches don’t "break" correctly
    • Fielding system is out of whack
    • Franchise mode lacks initial draft

    Best Baseball Game Ever!!!
    This game is really cool.
You can practically do anything that you see in a real baseball game.
I also like the pitching meter which is so easy to learn and how the controller vibrates when you are close to pitching a ball.
This is to all the people who want to try out this game: rent it first to see if the game is good then buy it right away if you do like it.

    ~Peace Out~

Another botched EA game on Xbox
I've got a real bone to pick with EA. They just keep giving the Xbox wavw after wave of games with poor graphics and less features than on the PS2. Now, I am real close to dumping EA and begin playing Sega Sports games (which has some very sold games)

PROS: 1. everything Triple Play wasnt

    2. some original spots (throw meter, franchise momentum, etc.)

    3. commentary is decent

CONS: 1. lightyears behind the other baseball games

    2. yet another case of PS2 graphics syndrome

    3. Faces look pasted on

    4. controls are confusing

    5. there is no point to Pitching

    6. Franchise mode is all hype

    7. cannot control fielding at all

    8. impossible to get on base

    9. beginning trailer is a real turnoff

FINAL VERDICT: do not waste your time and money on buying this game. If you think I'm wrong, rent it first, then well see whos saying, "why didn't you tell me this game stunk?"

    Loads Of Fun
There were two reasons why i bought an Xbox: 1.I was tired of fooling with the computer and the computer games. Instead of spending [the money] to upgrade my computer, I bought an Xbox which is as close to computer a game console will get. 2.I wanted to buy a quality Baseball game. I am happily satisfied with my Xbox and MVP Baseball 2003.
This game is lots of fun. It has great graphics and sound. The gameplay is exciting and engaging. Best of all, no batting cursors! The batter/pitcher interface is unique and the true highlight of this game. You can control location, break and speed of your pitches. The pitching gauge lets you know how effective your pitch will be and how tired your picher is also. Batting is all about timing and location. The Franchise mode is engaging as you manage your players and your budget. My only gripes are the exclusion of features i liked in Triple Play (Showing pitch counts, bullpen warmup, homerun animations and showing pitch locations). I've rented WSB2K3,HHB 2004 and ASB2K4. I was impressed with all of the extra features in all of these games ..but they just weren't as FUN as MVP Baseball 2003.
I hope next year's has all the best additions that the other games have but still retain the exciting game play included in this game.

    Almost perfect
I've always had a soft spot for boxing games, because they are the only fighting games that don't have annoying fireballs or gigantic swords or out-of-this-world moves. The problem, until now, has been that boxing games are button-mashing events, with little strategy. Thanks to the analog-stick control, Fight Night heralds a new and amazingly solid control systemt that rewards patience, strategy and skill over speed and luck. The control is very good (though could use some tweaking; where is the option to clinch?). The game's career mode is quite solid, and very addictive.

PROS: Amazing control, solid gameplay, depth. Great AI: opponents have distinct fighting styles; while one will stick and move, another will go toe-to-toe and pummel you with hooks. Good graphics and decent sound.

CONS: Difficulty level can vary; while some fighters might have the same ratings as you, they are usually able to absorb much more damage and dish out more than you, even with an even number of punches thrown. It's necessary for a challenge, I suppose, but it gets frustrating when you get to the top 10 boxers (Marciano, Norton, etc). I HATE the soundtrack to this game. While it is true that EA has decided to "urbanize" their sports title and score them with urban hip-hop beats, the music in FN is really pretty poor. At least they could have gotten some real rappers/artists. This leads me to my next point: there is a disturbing feeling of homogeneity in this game: it's ALL about hip-hop, and it can get a bit much. More disturbing is the lack of variety in fighter models: most look like bad caricatures of Hispanic gangbangers. How about some racial variety EA? Where are the white/Asian/Non-stereotyped black or latino fighters? My last criticism lies with the mini-games you use to boost your attributes between fights. Some of these are both stupid and frustrating (heavy bag, for one), yet there is NO way of practicing them, and since they are the only way of getting better, it can become annoying.

That said, this is a very good game, and probably the best boxing game ever made! If you have patience and are a fan of pure fighters, pick it up!

play as yourself and fight through the clubs
Fight night 2004 gives you a total punch control system. Witch is an awsome experience because you actually feel like your really beating up your fighter. For example if you push the right thumb stick right and up, you give your opponent a right hook. If u push the right thumb stick down and slide it up to the left you do a left uppercut. You will have to try it for your self.
Fight night 2004 gives you a 20 year career mode to fight your way through the ranks to the top for the belt(you fight 2 or 3 fights a year). You can create your own boxer for career mode or use a pro boxer that already exsits like Ali or Jones Jr. You start out fighting throught the clubs and then as you go u earn money from your fights (Tip:CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTS WISELY). Also when you progress you earn knew ring entrence themes, ring entrence effects, signiture punches, ect...
It is truly the boxing game of the year. Addictive and fun. So go out there and give them the old 1-2.

Great Game with Room for Improvement
Overall I have to say that I love this game. It's easily the best boxing game I've ever played. That doesn't mean that there's not things that could be better.

Pros: The graphics are very well done. The motions of the boxers are great and the venues look good. The sound is well done with some very realistic punching and crowd sounds. I personally like the total punch control, but for those who don't like it (see other reviews) there are several other controller options to choose from. The fighters in the game use different tactics that can vary depending on how the fight is going, so there is no set formula to winning.

Cons: I like the fact that the fighters show damage, but it's too uniform. First your eyes get red, then you get a cut around your eye. That's it. There could have been much more variation. Bloody or swollen noses and lips would be more realistic.

Once some opponents start to lose they begin to walk backwards around the ring, moving just as quickly backwards as you do forwards. All this while they're on the verge of going down. This can mean that you'll be chasing an opponent around for most of a round trying to land a punch or two.

Pretty much all fighters will get up on the count of 6 or 7 on the first knockdown. I've fought over 50 matches so far and have yet to see a boxer KO'd on the first or second knockdown, they always get up. A bit more realism would be nice. If you're caught with an especially powerful shot, it should be a little more difficult to get up. I've had fights where I've knocked my opponent down 7 different times before he stayed down.

Finally I think it's unfortunate that your boxer in career mode automatically retires after 20 years while still at the top of his game. Perhaps your skills could diminish as you get older making it necessary to keep training to stay in the game? Then you could decide when to retire your boxer. Go out while still on top or take a chance of losing your title? As it is now you max out your skills after a while making it pointless to keep training.

Overall this is a great game that is worth buying. Hopefully next years title will be even better with some of these problems fixed.

    Just not cutting it
Like many of the other reviewers here, I was a huge fan of Crash Team Racing (CTR) for PSOne. If you're not familiar, it's a kid-friendly game where you race around various tracks.

That game was just plain fun, and the weapon pick-ups scattered on the boards added an element of strategy. In addition, the cars were easy to control, there was a multitude of weapons to use, and it took some time to get through the levels--especially the "boss" levels where you're one-on-one with a main character.

This game has none of the charm of the original. The cars are often difficult to manuver around tight curves, and there just doesn't seem to be as many weapons to use. Plus, the other characters seem to be really good at dodging things left in their path, so most of the weapons are useless. I also noticed that some of the boards are virtually identical to the boards in the first CTR. The new creators have also added a tandem mode, which enables you to team up with another character on the board.

While this is interesting, it makes the levels even easier and further eliminates any challenge to winning races.

In short, this is one situation where adapting a game for PS2 was just not worth the effort. Pick up CTR for PSOne and enjoy...it's probably $20 or less, and it's a lot more fun than this one. Or, if you want a fun driving game for PS2, pick up Simpsons Road Rage.

    Da bomb
I agree with "Cole Edwards" when I first played it i was like "this game stinks" but after a hour or so this game ruled, it has over 12 tracks, 18 characters, many battle areanas and, if u get boerd you can create your own areas. There are over 5 new never before seen Crash Bandicoot characters. From Nash (a shark) to Geary (a robot). You can also play as oxide (from Crash Team Racing)This game is also very funny you can unlock movies, which are funny, wich makes this the coolest Crash game made!!!!

    c'mon
c'mon fukin average review is 1.5 fukin hideous...this game has better damn graphics and gameplay then the ctr gay ps1 game, and it is sure as hell better then that short itsalian midget plumber (mario) and his friends shooting snails at eachother, wtf!!! if u did, however, like mario karts or kart racing, then this is like the better version for the ps2 if u dont wanna buy a gamecube for 1 game!!!this game kix ass, so stfu and give it a fair rating...

      For Fans only!
Good: Solid Graphics, nice gameplay, great cheat codes, more gamma characters.
Bad: Sometimes the Hulk appears seethrough or transparent,no backround music playing, Lacks realism from movie and not consistant with movie.
This game has many positives. Although it has many negatives as well. This game appealed to me because of the Hulk smashing things and kicking some a**. The new gamma creatures are strong and difficult to kill which makes you strive for a better game. The gamma created dogs, three in the movie, are numerous and attack in groups of 3. This was a real letdown considering there were only a total of 3 dogs in the movie.
Playing gets tiresome towards the end a little bit of music could have done this game wonders. After the game is done you just put it down and forget about it. There is not much extra to do than repeat the levels.
All in all if you dont think you will get tired of the smashing and smashing and killing and smashing then get this game, or if you are a Hulk fanatic.
      -Out

      Hulk(xbox)
This is a very addictive and fun game.I got hooked the first
time I started playing. In this game you play as the hulk and
Bruce Banner. As Bruce Banner you have to sneak around past
sleeping gamma dogs, alpha guards and even gamma guards which
are as strong as the Hulk.Eric Bana does Bruce's voice. As the
Hulk your up against gamma dogs, alpha guards, gamma guards, tanks,
robots and gamma bosses such as Madman,Flux,Ravage,Half-Life and the Leader. You can destroy most anything for points and rage meters which will increase your strength. When you become enraged you can do more damage with super sonic clap, gamma stomps and punches You can break poles off of walls and use them to take out lots of enemys at once,You can pick up cars and throw them,Pick up dumsters and throw them and throw oil cans to explode which takes a lot of enemies out at once. You can punch soldiers,Throw them or throw them off of buildings. The object of the game is to track down professor Crawford who betrayed Bruce Banner and stole some of his gamma radiation to become Ravage another Hulk who is just as strong as the Hulk.Ravage takes the gamma orb and him and the Leader try to create mutants.Your job is to try to stop them.Although the Banner levels are fun I like
the Hulk ones better. Here is some cheat codes you can use to
help you until you get good at the game.

Invulnerability-In options at the code imput enter GMMSKIN
The Hulk or Banner Can't be killed.

Regenerator-Flshwind If you use this you won't need to use
Invulnerability as the Hulk regenerates fast and is hard to
      kill.

Full Rage Meter-Angmngt If you have this on you can do a lot
of damage to enemies and objects with gamma clap.Useful for
guards, gamma guards and robots. With full rage meter on you
      stay raged.

Unlimited Continues-Grnchtr This way you don't have to start over
at a level when you get killed or on some levels hulk out you
just continue were you started from.

Double Hulk's Health Points-Hlthdse This is similer to Invunriability.

Wicked Punch-Fstofry The hulk will have one punch kills. One punch
will take out everything from the human beings to big bosses
like Ravage,Flux,Madman and sometimes Half-Life.This is fine
with soldiers, robots, gamma dogs and gamma guards but it's
not a challange if you fight the big bosses as one punch
kills them.I like to fight them the fair way even though they
can sometimes give the Hulk a beating. As Banner you can kill
guards and dogs with just one punch.Wicked punch should be
used in combination with invanurability so the Hulk or Banner
      can't be killed.

Puzzle Solved-Brcestn This solves all puzzles for Banner

Unlock All Levels-Trublvr This unlocks all levels. You can play
any level you want to.Note after you go to special features
and cut on this cheat you must enter story mode and choose
continue game.Than you can use the right thumb key to scroll
      through all levels.

You must enter these cheats in the options mode code imput.
After you write the codes in the spaces mash the A button.
When you get thru entering codes press the b button till you
go back to special features than scroll to cheats and mash
tha A button and than cut the selected ones on.Than press
the b button till you get to story mode and start from there.
You can also play as the Gray Hulk however you will have to enter
a special code on a computer terminal in the infiltration level.
The universal code terminal is located in the building you
enter after you shut down the third generator switch. After you
complete this level quit and go to special features than cheats
and it should be the third cheat screen.Cut it on than go back
to story mode and continue. The code is Janitor. The Gray Hulk
is unique because he talks and is gray.If you like this game
I recommend Hulk the official strategy guide book by Tim Bogenn
and put out by brady games. This has pictures of every screen,
advice on getting past guards, deafeating enemies,Cheat codes
and characters in the game. This book has helped me go a long
way in the game and will you too.The book also shows what kind of combo attacks you can use against enemies as Banner and the
Hulk I also recommend the Spiderman game on xbox.

Also If you want to destroy helicopters as the hulk load a new
game it will be inner torment.Pick up a car using the b button
and jump on the roof of the building using the A button.Target
the copters with the right trigger and throw the car using
the b button and it will blow up.
I also recommend that you pick up the Hulk Game pad put out by
naki which you can probebly get at amazon.com or
your local gamespot store. This pad is smaller than the traditional xbox controller and all the buttons are in the
same place except the white and black buttons which are located
above the y and a buttons. This pad also has turbo
on it.The vibration on this pad is great too and
the pad has confotorble rubber grips. What attracted me to this
pad was the beautiful green color. This not only
works with the hulk game but with others.I played
spiderman on it.This is available for xbox,ps2 and gamecube.
      I have the xbox version.

      Hulk rocks!
Hulk is so fun! I love to smash things and throw soldiers out windows. It's funny how they flail their arms as they fall to their death! I hate being Bruce, but Hulk kicks butt! He is so cool in the game. I love kicking everyone's butt all the time! I love smashing walls and throwing tables. I don't like it when we have to be Bruce though. Even though I think it's cool, maybe you should rent it first to try it out. It's a really cool game!

Look no further than Sega Sports’ NFL 2K3 if you're seeking a more than worthy alternative to the established Madden football franchise. The game’s superb graphics alone are enough to draw in any fan, but its in-depth gameplay realism and ESPN broadcast presentation easily rank this as the finest football game Sega has released to date.

Thanks to its smarter-than-average artificial intelligence, NFL 2K3 sports a somewhat steep learning curve that requires sound football simulation instincts. Knowing your team’s strengths and weaknesses will ultimately be a big help if you hope to win at the game’s advanced levels. Be prepared to mix up your play calling and make adjustments instead of thinking the same old reliable plays will get the job done. Of course, practice mode is always there if you need to work the kinks out of your game plan and master the multitude of offensive and defensive sets at your disposal.

Graphically, sports games don’t come much better looking than NFL 2K3. Among the highlights: player animations are amazingly realistic and lifelike, and a wide array of facial emotions appear that are relative to game scenarios; stadiums are painstakingly re-created to take on almost postcardlike feel; and replays access a wide variety of angles to put you right on the field or in the stands.

One area in which NFL 2K3 easily aces Madden is its game commentary. As part of the game’s ESPN broadcast presentation, announcers Dan Stevens and Peter O’Keefe call every bit of the action in varied detail. Their comments are far removed from stale Maddenisms, offering worthwhile play breakdowns, player assessments, and quips that don’t make you wince in disgust (at least not too often). Stevens and O’Keefe, along with the crowd, will let you hear about it when you bite it on the field. --Larry White

        Pros

        • Superb graphics in most areas
        • Commentators sound realistic and rarely repeat themselves
        • Challenging AI forces you to adapt your game plan

        Cons

        • Receivers can't be put in motion
        • Slow, lofting quality of the passes
        • No ability to challenge plays
        • Often unrealistic player animations

        NFL 2K3 is the KING
If anybody wants a great football game get this one. The graphics are great and the play calling and the moves are great also. Everyone says that madden 2003 is the best but its not. The only bad thing about NFL 2K3 is that you can not chalange the play. No biggie though it is still a great game. One of the cool things about it is that ESPN is covering the game. At the half of the game it shows the stats and the best player so far in the game. At the end of the game it shows the player of the game and all of the stats of the game. At the end of the week you can see weekly wrap up were it shows all the scores and the play of the week. It also shows the ofensive and defensive player of the week. The game is very realistic. I have had this game for two months and is it still so much fun. If you want to get a great football game that you can not put down then get this one.

NFL 2k3-a gaming odessey 3 years late
As a avid nintendo fan, i didnt know much about the "2k" series that was extremly popular on the Dreamcast and PS2. So, I didnt buy it when it came out. So this past August i was in the local blockbuster and used stuff was 25% off. I saw this game, NFL 2k3, sitting right there on the shelf, i picked it up and thought what the heck, couldnt hurt. The best 7.50 I ever spent. The Franchise mode is genious, it gave me a realistic shot of getting my much maligned Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl. The trading is well done, the free-agency isnt too complicated and the draft is smooth with little problem. Although you may curse at your players who wont take a 50k cut from their salary so you have enough room under the cap, you get used to it. Player progression is one of the most interesting parts of the Franchise Mode. A older player tends to get worse and a younger tends to get better, however this isnt certain. For example, Morten Andersen, my kicker, who has been playing for 22 years improved and Michael Vick whose been playing for 2 got worse. If you can get them go after cheap veterans who nobody wants, this is a great tip for success. The gameplay is smooth and easy to grasp, while i complain that the Falcons playbook has no 4-3 defense in it, most playbooks have great varieties of plays including some trick plays like flea-flickers. It takes about 3 to 5 games to learn how to play but once you get the hang of it, its very simple. Unlike a lot of football games, the pass and the run are about equally effective. For example, in my old QB Club 2000 game the passing game is awful and all you can possibly do is run the football. In some games, although i dont have an example off-hand some games the run is impossible and the pass is all you can do. Not this one. Great mix, hats off to sega for the good work there. The defense, stopping the run is a sinch if you figure out "the ot secret" i dont want to give it away because it could ruin the realism. The pass defense is pretty much up to the comp. Other modes include: Season, Practice, Exhibition and Situation. All are very interesting.

SO BUY THIS GAME! 10 BUCKS! if you like football, youll like this game

        peace

        Best Game Ever
This game is awesome. The gameplay is realistic. It is sort of difficult to control, but the graphics are unbelievably realistic. BUY THIS GAME.

          somewhere in the middle....
Most games geared towards kids are pretty low quality, relying on a well-known license to sell it. Ty is not among these. The quality, while not groundbreaking, is adequate. Excellent sound. Decent graphics. Commendable, though not entirely perfect, controls. But because it is a standard platformer, with standard everything, it is also subject to very linear level design, which is all simple in nature, and a ridiculous amount of collecting. While the game is kid-friendly, it can also get a bit frustrating in some areas, too. Ty takes about ten to fifteen hours to beat, then give another two or three hours to collect everything. But the collecting becomes a tedious chore, and by then, the game runs out of steam. Overall, a decent game, but I'd only recommend it if you've run out of other games to play.

Great for all levels of adventure gamers
If you love adventure / gathering games where you go from level to level killing enemies and gathering up items, then Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a great game to get!

The game is basically the same as Spyro and Banjo Kazooie, except you don't have a small sidekick. You go through various levels, each with its own look and feel, gathering up small items and building up your health and weapons.

Your task is to gather up the lost talismans, and to power the machine to do this you have to clear each level of the 300 tokens. There are also many side-quests on each level, from timed races to freeing caged friends and more. Each type of quest uses a different set of skills - general gathering, searching for hidden items, flat out racing, fighting, and more. In addition there are tons of hidden secrets that can have you playing for weeks after you complete the base game.

The game is very replayable for this reason and even though it's easy enough that you can keep moving through it without really getting stuck, finding those hidden items can be quite challenging. It's a game that the kids can enjoy for its easy enemy-slaying and item-gathering, but the adults can enjoy it too. There's a good dose of fun Aussie humor in it, plus the graphics are reasonably good, with each level having its own flavor - jungle, snow fields, forest, etc.

With Ty being sold at a bargain price now, it definitely should be in the library of every GameCube owner!

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is an awesome game!
When I first saw the game, I thought it looked really weird. But it was cheap and looked pretty fun so I bought it anyway. It turns out that it is a great game. It provides hours of fun!

            Good idea gone bad
At first play a thought this game was for me. But a short time playing I relieved I was wrong.

Being a fan of sim/build/war games and expecting that from 1602AD I was very disappointed. The game does incorporate building and war but room for expansion is limited (all you have to build on is small islands). Game play was difficult due to poor feed back during game play (being attacked and not even made aware).

I purchased this game because people who brought The Sims also brought 1602AD.

If you want a good game of building/war/sim I would recommend any of the Ages of Empires or Civilizations. Both good games.

Please don't waste your time or money on 1602AD.

            1602ad for all Strategy Fans
I have been a Gamer (Mainly Strategy) now for approx 18 months and have bought all the top rating Strategy games that have been distributed including Age of Empires, Railroad Tycoon, Homeworld,Caesar111, Pharaoh, Alpha Centauri,HOMM. now they are all in the drawer, I have been playing 1602ad (Demo Version) because as yet we cant get the full version here in Australia, every night and have become so addicted to it that I have been e mailing all over the World to try and get the full version.

Never has a game captivated me so much, its Empire building and easy interesting progress of your City through development and trade always want me to try a new way and direction. One is not distracted by other players attacking you but to some regard you are left alone to better your own City. I now have reached the stage where the darn game shuts down after saying one should buy the full version and you have reached the level of under standing. I give this game 5 stars and recommend it most heartily. Perhaps when you have tried it you lucky Americans you can give me a email,, Good hunting, Grumpy Gramps

            Awesome game
I think this game is great because it's so much fun! You get to build your own town, protect it, put out fires, have it dig for gold, wage war on neiboring kingdoms (i.e. the computer), settle new islands and start all over again! I definetly recommend you get this game!

the cooolest dragon ball z game ever
I have played this game before on the playstation 2 and it rules!!!!.If you are a true gamer I highley suggest this game.there are many playable characters in the game but I still should add some more. For example,Garlic jr. wasn't even in the game!!!.And you can only be 2 members of the Ginyu force. And you can only transform into frieza's final form. Also some of the best are so hard to complete.Althogh it is better than the previous dbz games it is still good.I have seen screens for Budokai 2 for the PS2 and I have high hopes for this game.the game looks more cartooney than the origonal and you have a larger choice of characters. And the best part of the game is you can fuse two warriors together.Imagine kid majin buu and cell. Or hercule and Goku[I bet Goku wouldn't be to excited].I hope this review is useful to you

            Not as good as expected
I had been waiting for a game in the western genre, and finally along came Red Dead Revolver. I even put off buying Dead Man's Hand which came out a month or so earlier because DMH was said to be a more of an arcade shooter. This game lacks a lot. My biggest gripe is the number of shots your enemy can endure. 2 or 3 might be understandable, but 15 to 20 shots, and still standing. We're talking shots to the head and nobody faling. But this seems to be the case in video games. Even Medal of Honor which is supposed to be the most realistic you have to shoot a few times to knock em down. The areas are very limited. You're pretty confined to certain small areas. You can't open doors and there are too many cut scenes and not enough hands on action. If you are looking for a realistic portrayel of the old west, this is not it, it's more like the Wild Wild West, with villians like midget clowns and the like.
That all said, there are some pros. It does seem moderately fun, despite the drawbacks. Like the above reviewer said, I don't think I'll want to play it twice, as I'll just be doing the same exact thing with little or no variance.
Some of the elements are fun, like riding the train and horses. The quick draw scenes I could have done without, as they take no skill to perform.
Well, I guess until the upcoming western game "Boomtown" LogicalVice debuts, this is the only cowboy shooter worth playing. I would recommend renting before buying.
            Some fun, just not enough.

Taking aim at "Red Dead Revolver". . .
If you're an avid fan of the western and a gamer to boot, then "Red Dead Revolver" is the only game in town that should get a tip of your hat. Western-themed games are rare to say the least, and good ones are rarer still. This is the latter kind, and its mature themes make it even more remarkable - it's as close as you'll ever get to playing through an old Clint Eastwood film.

You're cast as Red, a bounty hunter who's seeking to avenge the murder of his parents. His quest takes him through many bizarre locations and pits him against a wide variety of murderous outlaws. It's his job to shoot first and ask questions later... then again, he doesn't really ask questions, he just shoots people and leaves it at that.

The game's levels are usually brief affairs that revolve around one particular set piece or another and are jam-packed full of people to kill. Fortunately, all that killing is mighty satisfying. There's hardly a wide variety of weapons to help you along despite the designers' best efforts to bring variety to the period setting, but the weapons that exist are cool enough to compensate. Area specific damage and gouts of blood and gore keep things visceral and compelling. Red can fire from cover if things get too hectic, but it's generally not an essential tactic - even if it is a welcome option. He's also got a Max Payne-like ability called "Dead Eye," which allows him to slow time and take steady aim at his opponents.

You don't only play as Red during the course of the game. There are several other characters and storylines to delve into, and while they sometimes steer the focus of the game's story in the wrong direction, it's generally a welcome change of pace. Red's native cousin, Shadow Wolf, enjoys a particularly entertaining mission that encourages stealth and a fair aim with a bow and arrow. Some of the other character missions feel tacked on, though - such as the Buffalo Soldier's wagon ride back to town.

What's a western-themed action game without the occasional duel? Drawing on opponents is handled like a sort of minigame that generally fits well into the scheme of things. Unfortunately, it's too frustrating, particularly later in the game. It's more a matter of a luck than skill, and certainly could have been handled with more flair.

It's far from perfect, but "Red Dead Revolver" should provide hours of fairly mindless but addictive fun. With the lack of competition, it easily earns its place as the best western-themed game ever released. If this kind of thing rubs you the right way, go grab a copy.

            Final Score: B

red dead revolver......good game kinda weak....
good game but i beat it in one day in like 6 hours....which sucked....game was way too easy but it was fun with the double tme or what ever it was with the L2 button...but over all a good shooter and the story line was ok...i didnt like how you couldnt roam around freely though...that would have made the game better...but overal it was a good game worth a rental not a buy...
