Taf Toys Rattles Go Around
Made by International Playthings
Age Group: 3 months - 2 years
    Amazon base price: $19.99
This colorful merry-go-round offers babies multifaceted opportunities for play. Three rattles spin around in a kaleidoscope of sounds and colors. Each rattle can be removed and played with, so babies have several enticing choices: the yellow rattle with its see-through container of multicolored beads; the red rattle with its set of clanging, spinning disks; and the bright blue rattle with its jangling, spinning cylinder of barbershop stripes. Parents may need to assist babies in removing and re-attaching the rattles. --Gail Hudson

    Great Fun For Baby!
We bought our son this toy for Christmas. He is five months old and is very interested in rattles. We like how the rattles have two handles and that they are light for baby. He loves to shake the rattles and put them in his mouth. The colors are bright and inviting and the "go round" attachment helps to keep the rattles at close reach.

    amazing toy!
it is amazing how parents can sometimes think they know best... when we got this toy i never imagined my baby would be so thrilled with one toy, which i believe expands his little world's frontiers showing him one toy can be whatever you wish it could be. with this one especially, not only he invents on what one toy can be, but on the many posibilities the toy has. and he seems to begin to understand how to separate parts and put them back together, a skill i haven't seen when he plays with other toys. this toy is very different from all crib toys. I definitely like it. But my baby likes it more, and that's what really matters in the end.

    Playnest and Gym
    Made by Galt America Inc
    Age Group: 3 months - 1 years
      Amazon base price: $69.99
They call it "a multisensory play environment and activity gym"; you may just think of it as a good way to get a rug-rat off the rug. The base of the play nest is an inflatable vinyl ring (39 inches external diameter) encased in a fabric cover that's festooned with animal scenes and a variety of textures, and flaps; four fabric-covered gym bars connect to the ring and meet at a point over your baby's head. You can attach various included soft toys (a sun that plays "You Are My Sunshine," a mirrored star) with links to the bars. For the youngest infant, this is a cozy place to watch the world; slightly older tots will enjoy the sense of security and a bit of assistance with sit-up play. Toddlers may give the play nest a second life by seeing whether they can throw the toys or themselves into it. --Richard Farr

      Great Infant product
I purchased this product after I read an article in BABY MAGAZINE, that rated this Playnest& Gym top prize out of all the gyms they tested (12 ) The gym kept the babies attention for over 50 mins.. Upon reading this article my Wife and I purchased the Galt Playnest & Gym - and we have never looked back...this is a great baby product and I would recommend this gym for all new born babies. Other products sold on this site from Galt our also very good....

Great toy - buy it if you can get it!
I spent a long time looking around all the toy shops and online to see what there was for little babies. My son, Toby, at 4 months, did not like just lying on his back and watching things hanging above. The beauty of this toy is that you can safely put your baby in a semi-reclining position and not need to worry that he will fall out. He loved it from the moment he was put in it. All those bright colours and textures and noises facinated and excited him. He loved the upright position and soon he managed to sit up all by himself.

He is now 8 months old and we have removed the baby gym part. He lies happily in his ring reading his books - almost like grownups lounging in the sun on holiday. Or hangs over the side trying to catch his other toys which he had thrown out.

Your baby will love it - as have all the other reviewers. Great toy.

      Hang in there
I bought this for my son about 3 months ago when he was about 4 months. I was looking for an activity gym that he could sit up in because he wasen't to keen on just laying down. I read all of the reviews and decided this was perfect. When we first received the product I too was a little shocked at the difference from online viewing to in person and was a little disappointed at the amount of money I had spent on it. When I put him in it, I think he might have been scared at the hanging toys or something but he didn't like it at all. I unclipped the toys and he liked to play with them. I recently tried to put him in it again at about 6 months, when he started to sit up more sturdy, without the toy bars. He loves it and will sit in it for a couple of hours, however if he falls over or gets to the laying position again he will fuss until I put him sitting again. It took time but I never regretted paying for this toy and would buy it again given the need!

      Lamaze Grip and Grab Rattle
      Made by Learning Curve
      Age Group: 3 months - 2 years
        Amazon base price: $10.99
The pyramid-shaped Grip and Grab Rattle is made of sturdy, safety-tested plastic tubes in bright colors that are connected by clear plastic spheres. Each sphere contains a red bead, smaller beads move freely through the tubes when the rattle is shaken. So what's the big deal? You'll have to ask a baby. For some reason, they love this thing--won't put it down. They'll go to sleep to the sound of it being gently shaken in front of them, or will miraculously be distracted from the car-seat fussies. (Mini van dealers should include the Grip and Grab as a standard feature).

This Lamaze rattle also provides learning opportunities for babies, almost from birth. The tubes are about the diameter of an adult finger--perfect for grabbing with tiny hands, and later, for chomping with tiny gums and teeth. Early lessons in cause and effect and hand- eye coordination are taught when baby moves and the rattle shakes. Included in the packaging is a booklet about infant development and creative ideas on how to use the toy, as well as a U.S. lifetime warranty. Winner of several national awards, including a National Parenting Center Seal of Approval and a National Parenting Publications Honors Award. --Katherine Ferguson

Baby loves it -- maybe a little too much!
My son, now almost 6 months old, loves this rattle. I think the bright colors are wonderful and the fact that he can see the little balls inside that are making the rattling noise is supposed to be good for his cognitive development.

When he was younger, it was great because even before he could really grab the rattle in his tiny hand, he could stick his arm through the middle of this toy and shake it up and down to make noise.

HOWEVER, I think my husband and I may be taking this toy away from him soon, because we're afraid he's going to hurt himself. He shakes this rattle around with such enthusiasm, he keeps smacking himself -- and we know from the times when he smacks us with it that it hurts!

        Lightweight, and educational
One of my favorite things about this toy is the pattern that the colored "legs" of the triangle are laid out in. When turned slightly differently from the picture, you get the 3 primary colors on the top, and the secondary colors that they make when blended together on the bottom. Very nice way to teach colors and color mixing. The baby loves to shake and rattle this all the time. Easy to sanitize after a long day in the park as well!

        Best Bet for Babies
My daughter adores this rattle. It is the first toy she grabbed and held onto. It's colorful handles attract her and the beads move from one sphere to the next. As soon as it's in her grip, the sphere is in her mouth. She'll gum this toy all day if I let her. I haven't had any problems with it hurting her gums as some of the other reviewers did. However, she does occasionally knock herself in the head with it. The manufacturer isn't at fault for that....it's just babies' developing hand-eye coordination. It's very light, despite it's appearance and she never gets hurt. She's been interested in it since she was 3 months old and her attention hasn't waned yet. Lamaze comes through with another winner!

        Stand Up Ball Blast
        Made by Fisher-Price
        Age Group: 9 months - 2 years
          Amazon base price: $19.99
          List price: $21.99 (that's 9% off!)
There's lots to see, hear, and do with this toy that will foster the developmental skills of a toddler. When little ones push one of the five plastic balls through the hole at the top of this tower, lights flash and music plays. From there the ball travels down a spiral path all the way to the bottom--unless your toddler chooses to redirect it with the dial on the side of the ramp. Some babies will simply enjoy watching the ball swirl down the ramp. But as babies get a bit older, they will also be able to observe and anticipate the action of the balls and realize that their actions have an effect on where the balls go. How cool is that? For a toddler, very cool! One drawback to this toy is that it probably isn't sturdy enough or heavy enough for babies or toddlers to use it to pull themselves from a sitting to a standing position, though the "Pull-up" portion of the name implies that's possible. There's plenty more to do with this toy, so that is only a minor consideration.

          Its ok
My son got this for christmas last year and He plays with it about every other day. I think its a cute toy but not a must have, there are better toys out there.

An Awesome toy, My 11 month old LOVES it!!
My daughter recieved this Christmas gift just this last christmas at the age of 10 months. Unlike others who have responded, I have found it to be extremely sturdy and durable, It can hold her weight just fine(she is NOT on the small side), and she uses it to stand assisted. After watching my husband and I put the balls in the slots a few times, she quickly figured it out on her own. she will drop all the balls in and then reach down to retrieve them and start the process all over again. The music is lively, but not annoying. I like the fact that she is getting to experiement with the idea of cause and effect as well as strengthing her leg muscles by standing :) I would highly recommend this toy to any parent of an almost one year old who can or will be able to stand even assisted soon. It is a toy that she constantly goes back too, while ignoring her humoungous toy box full of toys she would have to sit down to play with!! GREAT PRODUCT from Fisher Price!

A must have your child will love!!
I bought this product when my child was 7 mths. old and she learned very quickly to pull up on it, it is very sturdy. She is now 9 mths. old and is always playing with it and she weighs 20 lbs. and it holds her up just fine it has never tipped over with her. This was a very good investment. Putting it together was a little complicated but as far as that I would recommend it. Your child will absolutely love it!!!

            Not fun
My freind bought this toy (in this design) at a used baby store. Her son (then 6 or 7 months) played with it for about ten minutes, and after that, he really paid no mind and it just got in the way.

Tiny Love's Stroller Arch =Tiny Use
This seemed like a versatile answer to the two strollers and car seats we have as a fun activity center to keep our son amused. Unfortunately, the arch does not fit on any of the items we had hoped it would. The clips do not expand far enough. It attaches on the top of the jogging stroller, but will come unclipped easily. There is no way the clips will attach to either car seat we own,(Britax or Graco). A great idea that just falls short.

Encourages your baby to reach out and grab the toys
I love to see the expression on my 10 wks year old baby girl, when she plays with the arch. The hot air balloon plays a tune that brings a smile to her face. It's also a familiar tune that soothes her when she is sleepy. Easy to attach to the car seat (I have a travel system stroller). I also use it to distract her while I'm changing her & attach it to the changing table. The colors are bright and attractive to the eye...especially a babies eye. Also, it's lightweight & easy to fold up.

            Lullaby Dream Show

A night time must at our house
I bought this before my daughter was born. I didn't use it often when she was little as we also have a mobile and a mommy bear that she responded better to at that time. However, when we sleep trained her I started using it more. It is perfect, now she falls asleep to her night show and music every night. She will sit up until I can wind the music box. But once the music is on, she will lay right down and it sends straight to dream land. I was impressed that in 17 months we have only replaced the batteries once.

              Mesmerizing and Soothing!
I highly recommend this item. My son had the original Lullaby Light Show and was fascinated with it from infancy. He still loves it and is now 5. My daughter (now 13 months) absolutely loves her Lullaby Dream Show. When she is fussy and can't settle down for bed time, I can put her in her crib and turn this on and it instantly soothes her. It is so nice because it can hang on the side of the crib or you can take it out and put it on the floor next to them. Even if the images down show up very well on the ceiling, put it next to the wall and they show up pretty well. Very rugged. A must-have!

              A Must-Have for Little Ones
I am about to buy my fifth or sixth one of these, and it's because I believe in this product (as I do anything Tomy makes!). My three year old loves looking at the choo choo train on the ceiling at night and now his twin infant sisters have one in their room. Yes, I will admit that it does get hard to see the images when the light gets dim, but change the batteries more often! Even if you don't do that, you can still enjoy the lullaby by manually cranking it, and it lasts for about 7-8 minutes, which is enough to put my little ones to sleep. I have given this to several new mothers who have also enjoyed it immensely. We originally had a Tomy Lullaby Light Show, but this one is better because it hangs on the crib and you can see the images better. Give it a try!

                very disappointed
Santa brought this for my 8 month old son and by the time Christmas morning arrived the puppy no longer made a barking sound. Within 2 weeks the water-filled pouch had sprung a leak. My son enjoys the mirror and the velcro toys but it was definitely not worth the money that Santa spent. Please save your money!

                this toy fizzled and leaked!
we received this as a gift. it appeared to be a wonderful toy, with lots of different parts, although it took up a lot of space.. well, our 6 month old - 1 year old daughter was never interested in playing with it, except that occasionally she would put the velcro shapes in her mouth. soon after, the water capsule which holds the plastic fish began leaking. i would never recommend or buy this toy for anyone.

Its nice, but not that nice!
I bought this for my son off of ebay, because I just couldn't see paying that much for it and I'm glad I did. He liked the mirror and the animals the most. When the "fish tank" was filled with water he liked how it felt, but it quickly sprang a leak. If you could velcro it to the floor, it might be better. As soon as he got to be about 3 months he would pick it up and get tangled in it. If you just give your child one part to play with at a time, it'll save you some worry. Its a nice idea, but as far as it growing with your child like they imply...I don't think so. We got more use and more fun out of his activity gym by Kids II, which I did spend the money on and IT WAS WORTH IT. Unless you've just got to have this for your child, I wouldn't recommend it.
