    Great toy!
My just-turned six-year-old opened the package and played with it for four hours! His one-year-old little brother also loves the count down and take off.

    Great idea, bad design
You got to give them credit for the level of detail. It is awesome and makes it worth the price. It's just to bad they did not put as much thought into the design. I bought is for my 4 year old. I takes everything I got to take it about and put back together. A screw together rather than snake would have been ideal. The thing goes to pieces everytime we take about the different stages. However, over all a very cool toy that my some loves.

    Cool Toy
My son is 4 and loves astronauts. He thinks this is a great toy but wants me to play it with him. I think the rocket is a little difficult for a 4 year old to assemble and the concept of the rocket breaking into stages is slighly bewildering. He always wants me to play it with him. (...)

    Marble Run
    Made by Galt America Inc
    Age Group: 4 - 6 years
      Amazon base price: $19.99
Six chutes, plus six curves, plus nine tubes, plus three bases, plus six marbles equals a plethora of architectural possibilities. Galt's Marble Run is a sturdy, simply-put-together set in primary colors that's perfect for the beginning builder. Kids love to watch the marbles roll down the chutes, disappear into the tubes, and reappear on the curves a few inches lower. Since it can be configured any number of ways, it's a great discovery and exploration tool, providing instant feedback in the cause-and-effect department. And it's easy to take it apart and start over, too! --Julie Ubben

This would be fun and educational but Galt messed up
My children used an older version of this type of marble game and went bonkers over it. The toy we used was a friends. My wife bought Galt's version and I am ready to toss it into the garbage can. I just hope the retailer will accept a return. The problem is that Galt's materials engineers cut back on the connector strength and the pieces do not stick together well. All it takes to knock this toy down is a minor bump. My kids were totally frustrated and so was I. This was not an issue with the toy my friend had.

Galt, you saved a few pennies on plastic on each set you built but you created a useless toy. Two thumbs down!!!!!!

      Liked it
I really like this toy, but would highly suggest getting maybe 2 sets. There are only 30 pieces, and the set it pretty small. Otherwise great toy.

      I Still (Secretly) Enjoy This
I'm not certain that the product I own is the exact one advertised because my parents bought me the toy when I was four or five and that was well before the 90's. Anyhow, the set I had was quite similar, or at least the same concept. I have to admit, no toy thrilled me quite the way my marble run did. I spent hours building unique structures for rolling my marbles down. I'm not exactly sure what the appeal was, but it was very neat to build something yourself, drop the marble in at the top and then watch and listen to it roll all the way down. I guess it's appealing in the same way that those wacky gumball machines at malls are. Anyhow, it was a great toy, entertained me for hours, and seems to be timeless. Significantly more educational than watching television or playing video games and far more satisfying.

        Disappointed
I purchased this toy based on the excellent reviews it had here at Amazon, it looked also like a fun toy with educational value. I am very disappointed. For starters, my son finds it very frustrating that the front pieces for eyes, face & hat can only go on in one order. He also has trouble pulling the pieces apart once they are together, and he is very dextrous for his age. Also disappointing is the lack of container to store all the pieces in. Without this, the blocks are loose in my son's toybox and we can never find all the pieces. The packaging could easily be redesigned to hold the pieces. All in all, it is not a toy he can sit and play with without assistance, as I had thought it might be. When he does play with it he enjoys it for about 15 minutes and moves on to something else. We could have done without this toy under our Christmas tree.

        Electric problems
We got this for our son for his second birthday. He loved it but we had problems right away that it didn't recognize when it was the dump truck or fire engine like it was suppose to and would just go off for no reason. Of course we had an awful time trying to sneak it away from our son. We went to the store to get another and the one they had didn't work either. Buy at your own risk.

          Disappointed!!!
I bought this toy for 6 year old boy for Christmas. I have to say I am rather disappointed in it. He opened the box saw all the pieces and it was just another toy to put together. After I helped him assemble it he never played with it again! There is really only one way the pieces can fit and work together despite Fisher Price marketing it otherwise. There are lots of extra little pieces many of them I just put away for fear my younger child would choke on them, and they are not essential for play with this toy. I would not buy it again. Perhaps it lends itself more to play if one already has some of the other imagenext toys to play with it, but I'm not going to find out, I won't be buying anymore of these pieces! I recommend Lego sets over this!

My five-year old girl loves this Lighthouse!
She recently received this set for her 5th birthday, and her eyes just lit up when she opened it! She did have to sit aside while her father and I assembled it for the first time, but then it was hours and hours of fun! It is our first Imaginext, and I do not expect it to stay perfectly together all the time, it stays together well for most purposes. Two quibbles though. The door which just slides into the hole for the door, falls out very easily. Second, it seems as though they've included the BARE minimum of pieces to brace the dock and base of the lighthouse. I am talking about the pieces (only TWO?) for supporting the dock sections, and the rock sections for setting up the lighthouse portion of things(three, I believe). The windowed fence pieces may be used as support though, and when configuring the lighthouse as a vertical tower, this is necessary, I believe. When in this configuration, each room only has TWO walls, which the picture of the lighthouse in this configuration on the box, is shown from such an angle that you cannot tell this, and you automatically assume that it is more "complete". Still, it gives plenty of access for playing, but I still think at least for this configuration, the box was rather misleading. One could wish for say two more wall pieces and one more base piece, along with a couple more support pieces, but this IS one of the lesser-priced sets. And I do believe that for the price paid you do get enough fun for the money. Several other configurations have proved my daughter's favorite for playing, and even given the limited number of pieces in the set, I was pleased that several building configurations ARE possible. On occasion she does call us over to "fix" it, but I have no problem with that, and it's usually just one of the windowed fence pieces that we usually have attached at one end, that require "fixing". She loves the little pieces that came with the set, the diving helmet, the turtle, and lobster, among other things. So this review is a little mixed, more because of that misleading picturing of the tower configuration, and what seems like a stingy allotment of especiallly dock support pieces, than anything. Very fun, my daughter enjoys this, and we ARE looking forward to getting her more Imaginext.

            Sooo Much Fun
My 20 month-old daughter got this as a hand-me-down from an older cousin. It's missing half the parts and is still a ton of fun. It's really been great for her hand-eye coordination and I love that the "barn" is a great place to keep all the parts together.

Dissapointing implementation of a good idea
My kids always liked Mr. Potato Head, so when I saw the farm toy come out I bought it for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. My first surprise was that unlike the silly suitcase, the pieces were not separate (nose, eyes and ears are all part of one peice, hands are holding things, etc). This cuts down on your child's creative options. The parts are also smaller than on the traditonal set, so they aren't interchangable with the Silly Suitcase. (surprising, because the pegs are only slightly smaller, Hasbro could have easily kept the pegs the same size). We were hoping to mix and match but weren't able to.

The most dissapointing thing about this toy is how hard it is to fit the pieces into the potato. They don't really fit in all the way, so they fall out. When you do get them in, they're hard to pull out.

All in all, a good idea not well thought out.

            best christmas present
love this toy. My 18 month old got this for Christmas and I can
honestly say he plays with it everyday. He enjoys putting them together and taking them apart. The case which is the farm is
pretty durable too. This is a great toy.

              Mimics the real thing
I found this kit to be pretty close to the real thing.
There are a number of very large components - wings, nose-cone, engine cover/tunnels - that are single pieces. Like a real Formula car, they lift on and off as a single piece. This somewhat hampers the reuse - about all those pieces are good for are building a racecar or a race-car derivative - (a really fast landspeeder anyone....) - but they are beautiful and I think this is an easy kit to build. The components under the "preformed" components are the normal Megabloks and thus easily reused/combined with other bricks.

              formula racing fun
I bought the formula racer for my son. The instructions were easy to understand. The only problem is that parts of the built car fall off when he plays with it.

                My son loves this!
We ordered this table for my son for his first birthday and took it out of the box the day it arrived. He loves it! The yellow part of the table makes noises once you turn it on (but the instructions neglect to tell you about the "on/off" button--it's the button with the MegaBloks logo). The tables sits low to the ground so babies who are sitting but not yet standing can use it, too.

Perhaps not worth it ... ?
It just seems to me that the set isn't very big and PROBABLY not worth the fifty dollars or so you're going to spend on it. These are the Legos of the 21st century, and I yearn for sets like those of the 1980s. They were much more fun and much more worth it.

                    LEGO NBA Challenge (3432)
                    Made by LEGO Systems, Inc
                    Age Group: 6 - 12 years
                      Amazon base price: $49.99
LEGO NBA Challenge (3432) This is a real, functioning table-top basketball game made entirely out of LEGOs. The surprising thing is how well it works--you can stage your own 2-player tournament of little red men versus little blue men, or practice free throws solo. Here’s how it works: you make your men, who are mounted on a spring mechanism, and then shoot or pass by flicking the ball in the direction you want it to go. Each little ball player is mounted in a dimple on the court, allowing the ball to roll to him. There is also a defensive player at each end of the court who can be hoisted up and down with a lever to block shots. Not exactly a realistic simulation, but really fun nevertheless. It is quite a task to assemble the thing, but the text-free instructions allow for kids to do this themselves. If there is one downside, it’s that pieces tend to fall off with overly enthusiastic play, but, being LEGOs, they snap right back on. --David Stoesz

NBA Challenge - try putting it together in the first place!
I had great fun putting it together, but it took me over an hour to do so. The instructions are clear although some of the colours are confusing (black pieces looks grey in the booklet). Younger children will probably need help setting it up - and some adults too. I'm hoping the basketballs will last till the new year...

                      this toy stinks.
I bought this thinking it would be cool. it sort of is,but is is so hard to put together to do.Lego soccer is so much easier to put together.
I havn't played with it yet. im still putting it together.

I bought it 3 days ago, and im still not finished.

                      mixed feelings
                      Ok
at first you think it is the best. if you don't have anyone to play with you, you get bored easily like me. I got it, built it, played for awhile and got bored. if you want to you can make the court nearly unbreakable. i really like it but i get bored easily. all in all i am happy i got it but i wish i had someone to play With in my family. do not think it is like other legos where they break easily b/c it doesnt break that easily as you may think it is.

PROS: fun to build, easy to play with, pretty durable

CONS: boring when you are by yourself,
