This particular version of Count Vladislaus Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) is about to put the bite on somebody, which draws your attention to the area where this figure has some shortcomings. If you look at the picture you would think Dracula is wearing a hood, but that is really his hair, which is one of the worst heads of hair I have seen on an action figure in a while (granted, a lot of action figures get to avoid the hair issue because superheroes wear hooded masks and sports figures helmets). The other Dracula figure looks much more like the actor, but this one is at a disadvantage since Roxburgh's features were distorted by CGI when he went to sink his fangs into someone.
Dracula's fancy masked ball costume is the chief attraction here, showing the same sort of fascinating with gold brocade that the Anna Valerious character wears throughout the film. There are some standard points of articulation, but you really do have some limited options with these if you want the figure to stand up (which is pretty much standard with these action figures). But that hair really bothers me. If it were different this might be the best of Dracula figure of the bunch. Last thought: It would be sort of kewl if you good get a bag of like a hundred different vampire bat babies. I know such things are impractical, but I have to think that we are getting closer to the day when toy companies will be able to do such things.

Well, Palisades is bringing this series back, apparently more for the collector than the kid. These days, everything old is new again, so why not the toys? It's a special treat for me, as I spent years playing with my original Micronauts, losing pieces, wearing them down, breaking off bits, and eventually putting them in the trash when nothing recognizable was left.
Included in the first re-release (Version 1.0) is the horrific Membros. With his frog-like visage, warty skin, exposed brain (or was it an afro?), and weapon attachments, he was the embodiment of UGLY; therefore, the coolest one! This series has 4 versions of Membros, differentiated by their colors, but I have to say that the original red is my favorite. Unfortunately, Palisades is getting a lot of flak for the fragile nature of these toys (due to production problems), so you may want to leave these in their cases to stare at... at least until Versions 1.5 and higher, by which time Palisades says it will have fixed the problems. So, it scores low for durability and educational value (?), but a solid 5 for "fun", especially for an old-timer like me.
