    Fashion Gets Funky
The only thing new about this line of Bratz (limited edition for 2003), is the fact they've swapped clothes from each other from last year, and gotten new make-up and hair makeovers. (Included in this set as well is "new girl" Dana.) I really like the face on this year's "Funk 'n' Glow" Jade which is really the only reason I picked her up. Her eyes have a softer expression; there's less white in her pupils and the orchid and light brown coloring is wonderful. Also, as usual, Jade looks her best with matching sparkling eye, lip, and nail makeup. Her hair also looks adorable in two long ponytails. As with last year's doll, Jade comes with a light-up denim jacket featuring her cat symbol, sparkling jeans with flame detail, and plenty of jewelry! New is a maroon mini with black tank. Recommended for die-hard collectors seeking every edition of the Bratz!

      Son loves him!
My 4yo son just recieved "Eggo" (Deigo) as he calls him for his bday from my mother. He loves this doll! He also recieved the singing Dora doll and it makes a great companion. When you press Deigo's belly, he makes animal sounds and asks you what animal makes that sound. So your child is also learning as well as playing. Oh, And lets not forget about the spanish Deigo speaks, as well as English. Your child will love learning new words in spanish!!!

great playmate for the Dora doll
When my daughter played with her Dora doll my son often felt left out (Boots didn't cut it for him) but now with the Diego doll they both create adventures togther and my son seems to really like his doll. Its a great alternative to Dora for the Boys.

2 1/2 Year Old Sam Loves to Explore with Diego
My little boy loves to carry Diego around, making him speak in English and Spanish. I enjoy it because he says a variety of different phrases in both languages so it doesn't get annoying like some talking toys.

I also appreciate having a male doll toy which I think is important for boys, it makes a pleasant contrast to all the tough, plastic building toys Sam plays with a lot.

Sam did loose his jacket and accesories within days, but besides that, Diego is an excellent toy for soft play and language learning as well.

        Pretty good toy
This toy is pretty cool but the horse's hair is WAY TO LONG!!!!Maybe i am being to picky but the horse is not shaped the way it should be.The picture shows the barn open with the fence attached to the walls you can't attach the fence enless the barn is closed!Lots of tiny "perfume" bottles and cardboard things. There is a place to hang the Polly's clothes but the clothes don't stay on the hangers! There is a haystack that opens to a chair but she can't sit in it because her clothes won't bend that far!!!BUT over all the bad things it still is good toy for kids!

My 4 year old loves it ... I'm not a fan of it though.
My 4 year old LOVES Polly Pocket. She loves all the little clothes, the tiny shoes, the accessories, the pets, the modes of transportation. Oh ... the adventures she and Polly and her friends have. She plays with it endlessly and has a great time.

I, as a parent, hate it. It's too small and fiddly for my big fingers ... and there is always something to be re-attached, re-configured or an item of clothing for Polly to put on that my daughter needs help with. She loves it when I sit down and play with her but I can't get my big fingers comfortable with this tiny toy.

I also have to constant worry of a choking hazard for her little brother (just turned 1) and I have to stand over her to ensure she packs up every single tiny piece of the set.

All the Polly Pocket sets we own have been gifts. As a parent - I would find something else to buy my daughter.

I am not a fan of this toy at all ... but then i am not a 4 year old little girl either.

        Polly pockets
Polly Pockets are very cute and fun toys. There rubbery clothes are easy to break but if you be careful they will last a long time. The Ride in Style Polly is so cute with the doll and the horse. I would recomend this toy to any girl from the age of 3 to 11. The Polly Dolls are fun for all ages!

'N Sync Marionette Doll: Chris Kirkpatrick
        Made by Living Toys
        Age Group: 7 - 10 years
          Amazon base price: $5.29
          List price: $19.99 (that's 74% off!)
This dangling marionette bears a strong likeness to the real-life Chris Kirkpatrick of the hit band 'N Sync, down to his black wardrobe, his Doc Marten's, spiked hair, and scruffy goatee. Just a tad smaller than a G.I. Joe action figure, this marionette can dance and sway to any 'N Sync tune you play. At first, an 8-year-old tester simply wanted to make Chris's limbs wiggle in sync with his 'N Sync CD (not included). Eventually, though, the tester tried the more skilled aspects of puppetry, using the enclosed instruction sheet that teaches a few marionette moves. For example, fans can learn how to make Chris sit, bow, dance, or shake hands. With a few afternoons of patient practice, children will master enough moves to put on a decent performance. When not in use, the marionette can be hung from the included stand. --Hannah Reynolds

          Eh
This marionette isn't something that interests more 9-10 year old girls because they want to play with it more like a Ken doll, not Pinocchio. This toy isn't very educational. It is frustrating. The joints are stiff and can be difficult to move. It is extremely durable because after a few days, it gets forgotten about.

          Fun Toy; [Crummy] Marionette
Pros: Great conversation starter: watch as people come into your office and ask "why do you have an 'N Sync doll?" You need to get all 5 to maximize the effect, however.

Cons: It doesn't really look like Chris -- is that supposed to be a goatee? Also, it's a pretty [crummy] marionette. The joints are really stiff and it's almost impossible to get it to "do the moves".

          Interesting toy idea!
After the 'Bye Bye Bye' video, this marionette is a great thing to have around. You can make the marionette move around and dance like the guys from *NSYNC. It also looks really good in the box or held by the stand on a bookshelf.

          Shining Stars Bear: Blue
          Made by Mattel
          Age Group: 36 months - 6 years
            Amazon base price: $5.29
            List price: $29.99 (that's 82% off!)
This Shining Star Bear is a sweet, cuddly cub with soft limbs, a squishy belly, and a huggable body. Dressed in blue cotton pajamas with a glow-in-the-dark celestial pattern of shooting stars and moons, this 13-inch cutie holds a star-shaped pillow with a trail of fleece blanket attached to it. Making this blue bear extra stellar is the included gift for its caregiver: a very own star and official star-naming kit. Recipients simply choose any name and then officially register it with the International Star Registry. The star's coordinates and serial number, along with a celestial map showing its location, are already included. This heavenly bear makes a great nighttime companion--both to gaze at the stars with, and to dream about them with come bedtime. --Nadia Mered

There's not much that's cooler than your own star.
I'm giving this to my 21-year-old boyfriend for Christmas. The bear will be a funny little gift from me to him, and the chance to name his own star will really make this Christmas special for him. He'll really think this is very cool. I'm thinking of getting one for myself, as well, because I'm jealous of his chance to name a star. Plus the bear is so cute!

            Security
So many children have problems falling to sleep at night and I think this might be the perfect answer to our problems for all ages from 2-9. I am buying 3, one for my 9 year old daugher, one for my 8 year old son, and one for my two year old nephew. Not only can they learn by naming their own star they take an interest in astronomy as well. They can also cuddle the sweet bear that gives them light in their room, too. What a great idea! Thank you! Then they have a collectable which is for all ages. Thanks again.

            Love it
We got 4 of these as CHRISTMAS gift for our Grandchildren. I love the idea of them having a star to watch that they have named. We did for 2 girls and 2 boys and their stars are all about in the same area of the big bear. How great to look at your star and see your cousins who lives in Texas. The bears are so cute with their glow in the dark stars and their blanket.

              Christina Aguilera & Justin Timberlake
It was the beginning of this year or end of last that Mattel announced that it would be making "Flavas" dolls, most of which would be made to emulate various MTV personalities. These would include Lala- TRL's video jocket, Lil' Kim, Eminem (in blonde hair & also in black hair, to go with his 8 Mile look), Justin Timberlake, and the main doll in the series, they announced, would be inspired by none other than the Queen of Music herself, Christina Aguilera. Christina's doll is the Happy D doll.

One form of Happy D features her blonde hair in complete cornrows flowing long and parted from the middle, much like Christina Aguilera had throughout 2001. Another features Christina's long white hair with piles of black streaks & some little braided strands- much like Christina had her hair in the last half of 2002 (her most known hair style) and it's even in her 2002 Olympics performance outfit.

This version's doll is the best souvenier a Christina Aguilera (or Justin Timberlake) fan could have! It features Christina with white hair, and black hair on the bottom half to replicate that "Dirrty" video hair. If that's not enough, it features the red, white & black leather outfit she wore on that video when she was on a bike. Yes, an EXACT replicate of that outfit (okay, well, the pant legs aren't cut out into chaps because that would be very inappropriate for children.). If that's not enough, it has an EXACT replicate of the red motorcycle she rides in her "Dirrty" video. You couldn't imagine how excited I was considering "Dirrty" is my favorite music video of all time & she is my favorite singer!

Also included with her is a replicate of her current touring partner, Justin Timberlake, complete with his recent facial hair & in one of those urban type outfits he's been sporting lately. He doesn't look as much like himself as the other doll looks like Christina. It was clearly packaged toward Christina fan anyhow.
              =D

              what were they thinking?
When I recieved this package of 2 dolls, in the box, they looked cute, kinda. When I took them out to display them, I thought they did a great job on Liam...He is very handsome and realistic, but when I saw Happy D, she looks llike a DWARF!
Her head is way too big for her body and way bigger then any other Barbie, or Ken doll's head, and her her body is too small to fit in any clothes other then pre-teen Skipper. Liam is a little taller then most Kens, so that makes Happy D even shorter. And with her Cruella de Ville hair, she looks like a total freak!!!!!!!
I dont know why they made them look like such an odd couple, but I wouldnt reccemend this set for the girl doll, but the bike and the male doll are awsome!
p.s. the helmets dont fit well at all!

                The Club
I bought this set a while ago and I'm still playing with it. It's so fun! I just love the headsets and the records. It might not play any music but this way you can play your own music. It's great for your imagination! The only downside to it is that the velvet ropes are plastic so when you move them they might come off. Good thing you can put them back together!

                A strange little club
When I first saw the photos of the My Scene Club, I was excited. But in comparison to the Boutique and the Cafe, this one is nothing to be excited about. The concept of the love seat is cute, but the piece is so bulky that it doesn't fit easily into a typical home display. The pole with the two flat screens is a cute idea, but once assembled, it is somewhat flimsy. It is also too tall for the shelf I wanted to display the set on. The best thing about this set is the "velvet" ropes (actually plastic). It's cute, but wouldn't such a thing go on the "outside" of a real club, not the inside? I don't know...but I'll be glad with the My Scene Lounge is released. That item seems more like a real club than this item does.

                    Great Addition!
They are so great we need more! We have a nice size family and even after purchasing this set, my son still needs more in order to name everyone:) He plays with them each day and they seem very durable (we had them over a month now) No problems yet and he is not gently with them at times either. Great addition whether to expand pretend play with family members, friends, teachers, doctors or whatever names you want to give these people!

                    poor design
These dolls' arms and legs are fabric coated wire with the feet not very securely glued on to the legs, and not secured well to the wooden block that is the doll's body, or trunk.

Our family came with a dollhouse and the mother came with part of the body broken so the leg and arm on one side swing around unnervingly when you try to pose her. The son's feet both came off after two weeks and we're not sure if we can glue them back on so they'll stay.

I'm dissapointed and expect the rest of the family to deteriorate in turn. I will have to look around to find another doll family about the same size for my little girl to use in this dollhouse. ...

Skipper as Velma from Scooby Doo

Skipper, Barbie’s kid sister, just barely passes as "Velma," the dowdy egghead from hit 70s cartoon "Scooby Doo." She’s a bit taller and thinner than the "real" Velma, but who else would try this? Barbie herself wouldn’t take the assignment, after she got one look at that orange-and-red monstrosity of an outfit. If the scruffy turtleneck or rolled knee socks didn’t make Babs say "ruh-roh!" the pleated mini-skirt sans undies would. So brave little Skipper is left to the task of wearing the stuff, holding up her mushroom hairdo in pride (or is she just trying to keep her over-sized spectacles from falling off?). She does, however, verify her identity as Velma by bringing along a velveteen version of Scooby-Doo (complete with Scooby snacks), and her trusty reporter’s notepad. --Diane Beall

                      A gem in the rough
This doll was made to appeal to Scooby-Doo fans who also like Barbies, period. Nothing wrong with that--Mattel has licensing down to a science. Those who even bother to comment about the doll being too skinny are clearly not in tune with Barbie World--all Barbies are too skinny, but that is just something we accept or are forever doomed to whine about. Doen't matter if the doll is meant to be Velma or Vivian Leigh--Mattel makes 'em the way they want. The only exception I can think of in the recent past was the unique chubby body Mattel gave their Rosie O'Donnell doll. But of course who would have believed a skinny Rosie O'Donnell?

Where Velma shines however, is as a "makeover" doll. Shampoo out the hair spray, paint the pink lips some other color more mature, give her a nice outfit, lose the glasses...and voila', the Barbie fan has something fairly unique and different.

Velma will appeal to kids who like Scooby-Doo, but adult Barbie collectors and customizers shouldn't pass her by without looking at least twice.

Taking 'Helmet Hair' To a WHOLE New Level...
The 'Skipper as Velma' doll really isn't what I expeced, but really I should've known better... This toy takes Velma's helmet hair to a WHOLE new level, seeing as the hair itself could be used as a helmet. Someone at the factory must've hairsprayed the ... out of this thing, and then probably dipped it in a coat of Elmer's glue for good measure.

Also, Skipper herself wouldn't make a very good Velma. Way too skinny. I dunno about you, but in my opinion, the cartoon Velma was NO Barbie. Also, the nice, knee-length skirt of cartoon fame has been turned into a pleated miniskirt attached to the shirt so it really is a dress. But, as this IS a Barbie doll, That can be expected.

Actually, I find this toy pretty fun (not to mention funny). It is kind of cool, and I would buy another of the 'Scooby-Doo!' series Barbie dolls.
