This is one of the few Ken dolls that has sex appeal. Perhaps it is the five o'clock shadow, or his swash-buckling black pants, the black belt and piratical soft cotton white shirt, or his long brown hair that looks like he just stepped out of the wind, or maybe the aggressive pose - whatever, it works.

Barbie is beautiful with her long flowing, slightly tousled blond hair, a look of vulnerability in her eyes and seductive pose, and the violet blue dress that falls off her shoulders. I've never read Jude Deveraux's The Raider, but this set makes me think that Ken is anatomically correct and their night has just begun.

Fun - just looking at the set is engaging.

Durable - mine will remain in perfect condition because I'm a collector. If a child plays with the set, the first thing to go will be the shoes, the rest will follow.

Educational - Can be used to teach a child about the clothing of the era, pirates, romance.

I have to agree with the person who said the pictures of these dolls don't do them justice. Barbie looks much more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Her dress is amazing--the shade of blue is gorgeous! I think Ken is too muscular, but I know that most men in romance novels are like that. What really got me about this giftset is how sexy these dolls are! The looks in their eyes are smoldering! A very HOT giftset!

I am an adult collector of Barbies. I have never read this novel, but when showing the picture of this set to my mother, she absolutely loved the colors in Barbie's dress, and wanted to buy it for me. The picture, wherever you may have seen it does not do this set justice. It is absolutely beautiful, and even though I have never been a romance book reader, after receiving this set, it will be the next book I read. In my opinion, a Barbie and Ken that would inspire someone to read a book because it is such a fine set, definently deserves all the five stars it can get.

I am REALLY into make-up and jewerly. So, when I found out a company made a realistic sized doll head to put makeup on, I was thrilled! It's like doing a makeover to a REAL person. Perfect for a future- designer! :) I even use my own make up on the doll head.What can I say; even as a middle-schooler, this is a cool toy. Worth it. I recommend this for 8-14 year olds!!

A star shaped hair brush: Dana has a huge silver star hairbrush. It is exactly like Bratz dolls' hairbrushes, but a lot bigger, and it works better.
1 bottle of lip gloss: This lip gloss is clear, so you can add sparkles to it. You can wear it, too!
3 bottles of glitter: These are to put on the lip gloss. You get three different colors: pink/green, purple/yellow, and silver. Sometimes these get plugged up, and my parents have to fix them.

2 brown hair extensions: These are a little more red than brown, so they aren't exactly Dana's hair color. I like to wear them to school!
2 pink hairclips: These are to hold the hair extensions in. They stay good in Dana's hair, but they slide down in real hair.
All of the Funky Fashion Makeover Bratz heads come with the same accessories. They used to just make Cloe, Jade, Sasha, Yasmin, Meygan, and Dana, but now they make Nevra and Fianna. Dana has a pink shirt painted on, like the others. But in all the pictures of this Bratz head, you can't see her real hairdo! All you see is four little ponytails of hair in the front, but she has a ponytail in the back. I usually just keep her on my dresser with all my other Bratz, but I play with her a lot too!

I had purchased a similar brats styling head(Nevra)for my daughter Raquel, let me just say that we have hours of fun together styling and putting on make-up on her bratz diva and herself. These dolls are very good quality, and provide little girls with an endless imagination.

Barbie as Batgirl was my favorite Barbie release in the series of DC Comics heroines in the last year, and I am most pleased to see her shine again in this amazing set. The package holding this gem is sturdy enough for collectors but easily torn apart by those who want to release "Barb"ra from her plastic prision. The set itself is duplicates the golden age of "Batmania" and is worthy of the Barbie title, furthur proving that nostalgia reings supreme in these day of disposible income. The bottome line? This set is definately aimed at collectors and pays hommage to the magic that is Barbie. Supermodel, Everday Woman, Superherione...Barbie can be anything. And don't you ever forget that.

First of all, potential buyers of this toy set should know that the manufacturer's description listed above in inaccurate: This doll does not have the "bendy" body that the individually issued Batgirl Barbie has. This doll has more of an "action figure" body made from hard plastic. Another difference is this doll's head is on a ball-joint, so she can look forward while posed on the Batcycle. In general, this doll is more posable than the other version, and her joints have a larger range of motion. Also, her boots are not split up the back like the other doll's; therefore the boots will stay on nicely during play.

The Batcycle itself is pretty fantastic as well. The bike has several moving parts and perfectly supports the doll in a riding position.

The set makes a terrific display piece, but I am betting kids will love it as much as collectors. Mattel has really made an impressive toy with this set! And you can't beat amazon.com's price!

Batgirl with Batcycle is being sought after by doll collectors and action figure collectors alike. The body of this Batgirl is different from the Batgirl in the standalone box and there are subtle costume variations as well. I highly recommend this playset to kids and adults alike.

This toy is almost, ALMOST self-explanatory. I rated it 5 stars fun because it is just, SO FUN! Educational value would be 5 stars, because it shows how father and son relate, just by matching outfits. Here is the problem. The durability would be 4 stars, because the Alan doll has poseable arms, and Ryan's stroller is so removable! I dropped it one star because it is very good, but two days after I got it, one arm snapped off the Alan. Poseable arms are a bit diffucult to control. But besides that, together I rate this 14 out of 15 stars.

I'm glad they have a toy out that promotes the relationship between father and son. I'm glad the African American version has pretty authentic looking rooted hair. The stroller's pretty durable under adverage stress, destructive children may easily destroy it. The accessories (like the camera) are easier to handle than some itty bitty accessories and proably won't be lost as easily as the baby things in the Midge/baby set. The dolls have survived some rough play, so I think it's a good durable set, more so than Midge/Baby overall.

The only problem I have is that mattle doesn't make an AFRICAN AMERICAN family album to match it's AFRICAN AMERICAN line of this 'Happy Family' set. I have the African American Ryan, Alan, Midge, Baby, and Doctor (hoping to catch the grandparents on sale after the holidays) and the 'Happy Family' album that comes with them shows the caucasian family. I have no problem with the white dolls, I make it a practice to have a diverse set of dolls to represent the world, but the purpose of getting the african-american happy family was to make it look more like ours and it would be nice if I wasn't stuck with the caucasian image every time I added to the 'Happy Family' (with certain playsets for example). It would be nice if a child's album that comes with the doll matched her (or his) doll set.

I love this toy. It shows how things should be. I'd like people to note the wedding band on his finger. Who wouldnt respect this toy. It shows a man spending time with this his child...With the accesories that come and a growing imagination its wonderful

This doll looks amazingly like the people of Portugal.
It has amazing Facial features and the dress is exquisite.
It's a good price, great bargain and a magnificant barbie doll.

I collect Barbies. I started at the beginning of this year and have 46 in all in my collection. I don't play with them. I keep them in the boxes. But Princess Of The Portuguese Empire was the first barbie I got to start my collecting. I am Portuguese myself and I was browsing through Wal-Mart one day and was shocked to discover that a Portuguese Barbie was made. For I always liked Barbie's and started to collect them seriously after the Portuguese one came out. She's gorgeous! Her dress is a beautiful dark brown color and is of Renaissance Fashion. She is great for all collectors out there. A great doll.

Gorgeous gown, lush curly hair, intelligent expression; great for redressing- she looks good in everything.

I don't know about educational value-- I throw the box away before I get the doll in the house. Dolls are for PLAYING, is what I say.

The Princess of Ireland Barbie is a fine "starter" doll for Barbie collectors. Part of the very reasonably priced Dolls of the World collection, this particular Barbie stands out amongst equals.

The doll has a particularly Irish look, having been graced with auburn hair and striking green eyes. Her green and gold gown is highly stylized, is detailed, and is designed with accurate Celtic cinquefoils and a claddagh brooch on her blue velvet cape, giving this Barbie a quaint Medieval/Celtic appearance.

The display box is relatively ordinary compared with some Barbie display boxes, but the graphic shows a mist-enshrouded castle in the background. There is some interesting information on the ancient Celts on the rear exterior of the box.

The fine quality of the costume and the small, detailed parts do not make this a good "play" Barbie for young children. Best to leave her in the box, purely for display.

I have purchased this Barbie for three separate serious adult collectors, and she ranks as a favorite with all three women.

The Princess of Ireland will make a lovely addition to anyone's Barbie collection.

Coming from an Irish family, I have accumulated many different types of Irish collectibles over the years: stuffed animals, Beanie Babies, glasses, books, jewelery...all with some sort of Irish theme. But until recently I didn't have any Irish dolls, porcelain or otherwise. I have been collecting Dolls of the World Barbies for a number of years, and more recently Princess of the World dolls, so I couldn't believe it when I found out that a Princess of Ireland Barbie would be made. I was nervous that the doll wouldn't "feel" Irish enough. So when I received her in the mail I was pleasantly surprised that she was even more beautiful than in the photos online. Her complexion is very fair, and her auburn hair is stunning in natural light. Her green eyes are sparkling and mysterious, and she wears a very light rose eyeshadow that makes her beautiful eyes stand out even more. Her costume is sort of a medieval/Celtic blend. She wears a velvety soft forest green cloak with a golden Tara brooch clasp, a traditional Celtic design. Her dress is a crinkly olive green fabric with a stripe of Celtic designs down the middle. At her waist she wears a belt of three golden medallions with Celtic designs, and on her head, perfectly balanced atop her auburn hair, a golden crown fit for an Irish princess. The box she comes in is also perfect for displaying her in. Appropriately enough, it is green (Ireland is actually a Viking word for green) with golden trim. The backdrop inside of the box is an Irish castle. There is information about the Celts on the back of the box. This is sure to become a treasured keepsake in my family, and I'm planning on buying more for relatives and friends.

THE PRINCESS OF IRELAND doll is stunning. Her best asset, besides her auburn hair, is her complexion. We are talking strawberries and cream here. She has deep green, mysterious eyes that make you feel like she is trying to tell you something. Her lips are a deep burgundy that complement her dress and together with her rich, dark green robe, make this doll seem to come to life. The background of the box is of a light brown traditional stone castle that always comes to mind whenever I think of Ireland. I really need to visit this country someday, being part Irish myself.

The only bad thing I noticed is the ends of her hair are slightly tangled. But the all the previous features as well as the gold accents (the crown, the medallions on her waist and the golden brooch on her right shoulder of her robe, plus the lovely accents of gold on the dress) certainly make up for this one flaw.

The other dolls in the "Dolls of the World Princess Collection" include the Princess of China and the Princess of the Nile. Two year limited warranty, certificate of authenticity, doll stand and dark green flat shoes accompany the PRINCESS OF IRELAND. Obviously a great value, she would be a fantastic addition to a collection or as a gift. THE PRINCESS OF IRELAND is definitely a keeper.

I think the Shakira doll is great because it was the first doll I owned that had a guitar.She comes with two outfits. She also didn't cost that much.

I bought this doll and must say that i couldn't keep my eyes off her in the KB store. I knew that i just had to get her sooner or later. She comes with two authentic outfits, two pairs of high heel shoes (which you can't tell in the picture because the pants cover them), a working guitar, and a photo card of herself. Her hair has black roots also which are pretty cool. The doll is shaped like Shakira (very curvy) and looks just like her. I love her facial detailing which is hard to tell online. Her face shape is like the new Lea/kayla face shape used on dolls now. Her eyes are a dark brown that are emphasized with eyeliner and nude eyeshadow colors. This look is balanced out with nude lipcolor and a hint of blush. I like that this version of the doll has her lips lined and her face seems smaller than the other version. Her pants are so authentic looking. Just a gorgeous doll! I would reccomend to any Shakira fan. Beautiful Beautiful doll and very exotic looking.

Mattel's efforts to bring Shakira into the world of the doll, while it is not the best celebrity likeness I've ever seen in a figural toy, is certainly better than many of the others that have been done for musicians over the years (New Kids on the Block, anyone?). I admit I don't have this particular Shakira doll, but I did purchase the other one with the black "leather" vest and pants. Without purchasing, I wonder one thing with regards to this version of the Shakira doll, which I'm hoping another review might answer at some point. Namely, just what length boots is this one fitted with in her outfit?

This toy, the Bratz's Lounge, is a great toy. It may or may not come with a doll, depending on where you get your lounge. Also included are a pair of slippers, (most likely pink) and 2 pillows. The edge of the lounge folds up like "Craftmatic" beds you see on tv. That feature is pretty cool, but it wrinkles up the fabric covering the lounge.

The fabric that covers up the lounge is EXTREMELY soft and furry, like feathers or "ripped" satin. It feels like a cloud! The only problem with this fabric is that it is easily wrinkled by Bratz, for example if your Bratz sits on the lounge with the "fur" going the wrong way, trying to get it back down is quite tough. Good Luck.
Another thing you want to watch out for is the legs of the lounge. They come off for storage, but be careful you don't lose one. :)

Over all, this toy is FANTASTIC! It's a lot of fun, especially if you have the Slumber Party Bratz Dolls. Have fun and be careful about the legs. I SUGGEST YOU BUY THIS TOY!!!

This is an amazing toy and you don't have to spend hours building it because it comes in one piece! The only thing I am disapppointed about is the age thing. I'm 12 and I adore it. It was a christmas present (2003) and you and your bratz will love it

shes really fun. i got her for my birthday and thought she was really cool. the peices are really hard to keep track of, and thats where the plastic bag comes in handy. i totally loved her and i hope that other people can enjoy her too.

She's "CUTE!" ,but I like My Scene Dolls better.I can't help staring!Everything is so....."CUTE!"!

This Jade is very cute and her clothes are so adorable but there are some flaws to this toy. Her pajama bottoms and impossible to get over her butt so I suggest using her robe or keep her hair the way it came and let it cover the part of her butt that is showing. Some of the shirts you have to tie and it is really hard to make them stay put. Some pants don't have velcro and it is very hard to get on. If you have ever tried to put pants on a Mary-Kate and Ashley doll, it is the same for Jade. There are doubles of lots of accessories. They give you a cup and saucer...I don't know why. Other than that, it's a great toy.

Ok well My daughter Stephie is totally obsessed with my scene when she first got her my scene barbie doll, she had a lot of fun possibly, we saw the funky cute pink room with shoes portraits and style clothing and when we saw that the barbie came with the room it was so economic not like those bratz they are so expensive and they have no feet and there face is too big I mean I got her one and she doesnt even pay attention to it she love the my scene barbie she already has like the whole collection this room that comes with this doll is so incradable at fisrt i said its too much money but thinking about its cheap and the barbie is so beautyful, I trully recommend this toy its a lot of fun I even play with my daughter and have tons of fun when she grows up she even tells me she wants to be blonde and wants to be like barbie I am so satisfited with this product.

Its cool because you can act out scenes and pretend shes going on a date. Sometimes, I pretend that she just woke up and is getting ready to go to the mall with friends. Its so much better than tv.

The doll itself is very pretty. Especially her beautiful smile. Now the Bratz lovers can't complain that my scene is copying bratz because the new my scene doesn't have an ugly scowel like the bratz do. The only problem is her hair. It is wavy and way too thinck! It is very hard to style it and it looks so plain when it is down. WARNING: be very careful with that kind of hair because it melts in the heat! The hair is made out of very, very thin layers of plastic and plastic melts in the heat. So never get it wet and then blow dry it because all her hair will fall out. But overall this doll is very fun and comes with cute outfits. I recomend it.
