    Pop Smarts All the Way!
This game is soooo fun! It's a fast paced trivia game that is great because not only does it come with a great mix of hard & easy, the cards are set up to make you really think before you speak (as the answer styles are always changing). The variety of topics appealed to all. A great time had by everybody. Pick this one up!

    Game for all seasons
It was a dark and stormy night when four of us of different ages, backgrounds and personalities sat down to play Pop Smarts. The little one (age 10) loved it because he was in charge. The oldest one (age 60) loved it because he was enjoying the family moment. The baby boomer(49) had a blast because the questions evoked misty nostalgia for her youth and the Generation x-er (36) started wondering how he could invent and market something that would be this much fun.

We played for three hours, without a break, and laughed and argued and discussed and generally had a great time, which is what games are all about.

In these times of uncertainty, with the constant stream of horrible news on television, cyberspace and radio, this game was an island of innocence and fun. It's hip and well worth the money.

I'd rather be playing Pop Smarts than writing this!
I own dozens of games (over 100!), so when a friend gave me Pop Smarts as a gift, I was somewhat skeptical. But after we played it once, we were hooked. The hardest thing to find is a game that isn't just a rehash of a different game, but I'm happy to say that Pop Smarts is a complete original!

Here's what I love about this game: no down-time. Everybody plays at once, so there's no waiting around. Gameplay is fast and a lot of fun. It's as good as Outburst and -much- better than Cranium.

This one we'll play again and again. Great game!

    Rigamarole Board Game
    Made by Hidden Talents
      Amazon base price: $34.99
To win Rigamarole, a charming party game in the Cranium tradition, players must answer questions in four categories: "word of mouth" (word games), "stage fright" (performing arts), "sensory perception" (relying on senses other than sight), and "uncommon knowledge" (trivia). The fun here, of course, is that while one or possibly two of these categories may match a player’s interests and abilities, everyone is sure to make a fool of themselves sooner or later. While tackling these tests, players win stones, which serve as a sort of currency. In a twist not often seen in trivia games, players who simply cannot pass a test can buy their passage using the stones they’ve acquired from previous victories. Rigamarole is a nice blend of tough challenges, gentle embarrassment, and general playfulness. --Charlie Williams

      QUirky and Out THere
You don't know what's coming next with this game. That might make some people uncomfortable but I thought it was great! Putting on the blindfold in front of your friends is hilarious, and so is trying to remember their eye color (I got my girlfriend's right). I really like the hidden talents cards at the end, especially sock wrestling.

      Pick of the litter.
Everything about this game is a delightful surprise. Rigamarole is a smorgasbord of highly entertaining games that have gone over well no matter who we have had to dinner. We have played many, many games over the years and this is the pick of the litter.

      Will make any group laugh
We just played Rigamarole with 9 people last week. It was a huge success even tho some players were new to the group. There was a ton of laughter, discussion and all around good bonding because the range of activities includes everyone. Whoever made this game has a terrific sense of humor and an eye for what a group enjoys. This is a must-buy.

        Learning Tool
I'm 14 and got this game when I was younger. I was struggling a little with math until I got this game. It helped me realize color and number patterns in such a fun way that I didn't even notice it! Since then I've been playing it at least once a week. I tutor young children and for those with math problems, I use the Uno game as a fun and educational tool. Parents have come to me and congratulated me with the successfullness of it. Its the ultimate game in a compact size. The cards last for a pretty long time. I've had one deck for the past 3 years and its still in tip top shape! So for anyone who plans to buy it, it's definately the RIGHT CHOICE!!!!

        GREAT GAME LOADS OF FUN
I love this game. It is a great family game though it might cause
a few arguments or break-ups(aaaaah! just kidding). Don't let this happen. It's just a game like any other game. You're just having fun. That's the No. 1 reason for playing any game with children or adults to have fun. Hey, How would like to be given 4 draw 4 cards????? get the picture???? Another good point, NEVER GIVE UP SO EASY,ITS NEVER OVER TILL IT'S OVER,comebacks
can happen. MY father-in-law was shut out, while I just needed 1 point to win(499 points to 0 4 or 5 of us were playing)and he came back and beat us with 500 points. Play this fantastic card game and see what I mean. Buy it and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Klonoa:Door To Phantomile (The best game ever)
It's been 4 years since I started this game. I have played several others, and I have yet to see one that beats the original Klonoa. First off, The music is WONDERFUL! It defiantly sets the mood of the level, weather it be fun, frightening, or wierd. The characters: Who can forget Klonoa? The jibberish speaking cat! Huepow, the ring spirit, and Klonoa's sidekick, Gadius, the evil...thing, and Lephise, the Diva who sings the song of rebirth (and several others). The graphics: Awesome! Beautiful! Spectacular! Overall: The best Game I've ever played. so what are you waiting for? Lupuloodoo! (Lets Go!)

        Amazing!!
This game is amazing! It's graphics, storyline, and even the sad ending... I juz love it!! It's worth the wait, but I'll definitely buy Klonoa 2 too! The graphics is really amazing... and I played it 7 times! Juz can't imagine what they can come out with in the PS2 machine. I think it's better than Final Fantasy...

        The ultamate platform!
Klonoa is a classic platform game for the PSX. It is one of the best none english game for the PSX. The violence is tiny so get your kids ready for this action packed, very awsome platform game.

Great Fun For Little Lego Lovers
This game is a big hit at our house! Our four year old loves to create with Legos so is very interested in following the rules to this game. And for the grownups it's much more fun to play than Chutes & Ladders! I like some of the other reviewers suggestions about decreasing the competiveness for the younger players and will try that the next time we play. While the box says for ages 7 and up a much younger child familiar with Legos and able to follow the visual directions should be able to play without frustration.

          great fun
My 6 year old recieved this game for christmas and has so much fun with it. He loves to show everyone what he has built. It's just a great game.

          Great Fun!
We purchased this game for our three Legomaniacs, ages 6, 10, & 11, and it was not a disappointment! The object of the game is to race around the board collecting pieces to see who can build his/her creation first. "Take a piece from another player" spaces add to the competition and unexpected outcomes of the game. Game is great for younger than the 7 & up age rating given it. In addition, our 6 year old spent an afternoon just building & rebuilding the creations displayed on the game cards. Instructions for the game were clear, concise, and they were thoughtful enough to include a display listing of all the pieces that belong to the game. This is a great aid when trying to separate game board pieces from other Legos, and for being sure you have all the pieces before you start the game. What I would change: the game "marker" pieces are Lego people "hats." They are tiny, and hard to keep up with, and blend in with the colors & shapes on the board, making them very hard to see on the board during play. Keeping up with those tiny hats slowed the play of the game considerably. We improvised by substituting various Lego people from other sets. They were easier to keep up with, and added more character to the game.

Definately one of the better games on the market
Word of warning to any football fan: This is an outrageous game, with fast gameplay and no mercy style, and this will make any other football game seem boring. So if you bought Madden recently or something avoid this until it bores you out. Anyway, this is a really fun game to play, and it will drive you haywire, recievers not able to catch the ball all the time after a perfect pass, and especially the CPU assistance (gives losing team a total unfair advantage to prevent blowouts), which is too implemented. So far, I have beaten about 18 of the 30 teams and I have noticed that you will drop a lot of balls because the computer hits you hard. But the CPU players always hang on to it. So you may bounce off the wall at that, and some offensive plays are useless and never give you a good result, but all in all, this game is highly reccommended at its new price since it recently went platinum.

          best blitz
Blitz is a really good game it gives you a good amount of plays to do and the new ones are to complicated this has good graphics you can jump on people after the play is over thats fun you can use turbo when you press R1 all the peopl,e i've talked to that have owned the game say it's the best game that is in football if your purchasing it on amazon.com it's a really good price of only [amt].

          Football for everyone
This game is a game for people who don't like football games. And if you do like regular style football games, you will enjoy the change. Give it a try, you can't beat the price!

EA now has a decent competetor
This game is a great upgrade from last year. The Franchise mode is one of the best in any video game. You have to build your new franchise up from scratch playing local ice rink teams, all the way up to NHL Teams. And it's not easy either. One Problm with EA's NHL series, was that it was to easy to score. In this game, you really have fight your way to the net to score. This game is one of the most original games on the market. Tippy
This game is _awsome_. The play isn't particularly faithful to the actual sport, but as a video game, it's killer. It's fun enough as a one player game, but the more people you play with, the better it gets. I never write reviews, but people have to know that this is one of the best sports games ever. The word must get out.

            I was really surprised :)
Im a big fan of hockey.....and I loved this game, everyone so far has given it big numbers and they arent wrong....my ONLY fault with the game is that there are only 5 players on the ice (including the goalie) there should be 6....but other than that I love it. I especially like the mardi gras heads you can add to your player to make them look all crazy and you can adjust the players size and face and even sex? (either this game is sorta Politically correct or women will soon be joining the NHL hehe) I liked the nicknames you can give your players too. I really like being able to make your own team with its original uniforms and name, and you can buy improved equipment and enhance your players abilities as they gain experience.....the game is easy to get the hang of and lots of fun on all levels....its easy at first but gets REALLY hard as you go on...so it kinda eases you into wanting to play more to improve your team and take on harder and harder challenges. I just rented this game from blockbuster video but I would like to buy it....I didnt want to bring it back hehe I only played with one player but I could see this game being GREAT at parties hehe. It even has good music from contemporary bands, makes me feel like im going to the hockey game.....all in all one of the better games for the PS2 ive played so far, I think computer games may eventually replace movies for entertainment because you dont have to just passivly just sit there and zone out and drool in front of the screen....you actually affect the outcome of whats going on in front of you...but you know that already hehe

            Resident Evil
            Made by Capcom
              Amazon base price: $59.99
              Used price: $5.50
              Average review score:

              The first of the best.
Welcome to the first adventure of one of Capcoms best series games. You are Jill Valentine, a stars member and you are trying to investigate some strange dissapearances in Raccoon City. You can play as Jill or Chris Redfield. You start in the game by going out to the outskirts of the city and see a house, a mansion. (There is a monster chasing you outside while you investigate, thats why you enter the mansion.) Once you arrive in there you look for things around the house and notice a zombie that ate one of your pals. You kill him and go tell your friend Barry Burton what went wrong. This game is the hardest of the whole series in my opinion because there are more puzzles and more zombies that are so hard to kill with your weapons. You will go through so many rooms and so many doors and find clues and clues and clues of to whats going on. Ill only spoil one part of the game if your new to resident evil. (The mansion has a research lab in the back yard that youll find later in the game. The whole mansion and lab belongs to the bio chemical organization,Umbrella). I promise though that you will enjoy this game.

              Where it all began
In the mid-nineties (I forget the exact year), Capcom turned the video game world on it's ear with Resident Evil; a game which at the time was nothing like anyone else had ever seen before. What many condider the first survival horror game (although the original Alone in the Dark can be considered that as well), you play as either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine: both of whom are members of S.T.A.R.S.; an elite special forces group who are investigating a series of murders and attacks in Raccoon City. They are led towards a mysterious mansion in the outskirts of the city and are sent in when the first team sent in is never heard from again. Inside the mansion you are pitted against a horde of zombies, mutated dogs, beasts called hunters, and many more mutated lifeforms all straight out of a B rated horror movie. What made the game so fun and addicting was the suspense (remember the part where everything is quiet and your walking down the hallway when out of nowhere the dogs come bursting through the window?) and the graphics engine which combined fully 3-D models of the characters and beautifully pre-rendered backgrounds. While the "find the key to unlock the door" puzzles are tried and true (especially by today's standards), this original installment in the Resident Evil series is still loads of fun to play, and if you've never played it before than you should consider this essential playing.

              the best game!!!!!!
i bought this game a few years back and it was the best playstation game i have ever played. its perfect for people who love monsterous creatures and solving puzzels.

you can play as jill valentine or chris redfield. they are to stars members investigating a mansion after the alpha team turns out missing. i recomend this game to everyone

                BAD
This game may have very good different abilities of how you can race. But, the graphics are terrible. Atari has made some great games in the past so when I went to Toysrus to get a game I chose this one because it was the newest edition and I thought that it would be the best yet. Unfortunently, I ended up playing it once and never played again. Since I have a F1 game from 2000 made by EA Sports which is excellent, I wanted to update it a little anyway. Now I learned my lesson that if I buy a sports/racing game it would be EA Sports for me. Grand Prix Challenge is TERRIBLE.

Overall the best F1 racer on a console
This game is a nice surprise... but it's still not a simulation. Which is okay, since nothing can be a simulation using a game controller.

The graphics and sound are wonderful. Not as good as GT3 but very close. There is no slowdown whatsoever with 21 cars ahead of you. The control is great. It is not nearly as touchy as the EA F1 series. Maybe this isn't realistic, but a little leeway is nice since the majority of gamers are using a handheld controller.

The reason this doesn't get a five star rating is because of three primary reasons. No rearview mirror. I can understand this to a large degree because the framerate is fantastic. But the game also lacks in car audio. This is big because without a rearview mirror you simply don't know who is around you. You have a look back button, but you really can use it only on straightaways. This may be the reason the damaging model is so forgiving. You can bump with your competitors which would put you immediately out of a real race. Since you don't know who's around you this allows you to continue to compete after the first turn. I'm okay with this... but it's a strike against the "pure sim experience."

Also the car set-up is miniscule. An option for more detailed set-ups (with the corresponding result) would be nice.

As with an cosole racer, if you want a pure racing sim you need to own a good PC. That's not a knock on this game, but console racers have to appeal to a younger crowd that won't get as frustrated as with a PC sim.

That's really it. And the fact that it's a 30 dollar game probably is justification for overlooking the flaws I see and give it a 5 star rating. But since you can buy many used games for cheap prices I didn't factor this into the rating. Overall, great job Atari. Sony has a lot of work to do to improve on this game since they now have the exclusive F1 license.

The best RACING SIM on the PS2 or anything else.
Wow! What an awesome game. The controls take a few hours to get used to but once you do this thing rocks! I have never raced a game where I actually felt like I was racing other people (except online of course) or had the adrenaline rush this game gives. I actually have raced professionally (i.e. I got paid) and still instruct so I'm in real formula cars on a regular basis. No this game doesn't have the ultra-realistic physics of say GP4,GPL, or even GT3 but it does have in abundance the feel of being in a real car in a real race. The replays are sick, the sounds, the frame rate, the AI dukeing it out its all good. For 4 times the amount of money you aren't going to find a better RACING title. P.S. I like it so much I wrote this review something I never thought I would do. Buy it!

                  Excellent game for young players
We have had this game for less than a week, and like a previous review, my 8 year-old daughter absolutely loves it. The school my daughter is attending this fall requires all of the children to play chess for 30 minutes or so prior to instruction. I was a little nervous of how to possibly teach her, since I have only played sparingly throughout my life. I know the basic moves, and not much more. Not ever touching a chess piece before, she learned all of the basics of the game in less than 2 days. She played for several hours at a time, and it was hard to get her off the computer.

I think the key to games success is that it instructs the player on the pieces, moves and object of the game without seeming like it is teaching. There are multiple mini-games within the actual game that slowly build to a point where the player knows all the moves of an actual game of chess. I will have to update my review after I play through the game myself, because on the first game I played with my daughter, she constantly corrected me.

AWESOME tool to help teach your child CHESS!
I have a five year old and my husband is teaching him how to play chess. We bought this game because he LOVES to play on the computer. This game is AWESOME! He played it for hours straight. It is a really fun way to learn the moves and strategies of the game. My husband even learned a few things he didn't know. I think it is one of those games that is definitely worth the money!

Best program to teach kids (or anyone) chess!
Purchased this for an energetic 5-year old known as my son!

To summarize: King White is feeling a little tired and disinterested (a mysterious malaise that can best be described as boredom or maybe even depression - seriously! Maybe something gets lost in translation, as this game is made by Chessbase, a German company, but marketed here by Viva Media. Maybe he is a victim of "ennui?"), so his queen suggests that they go on vacation. They put their son Fritz in charge for the duration of their absence, and as soon as the king and queen are out the door, Fritz is challenged to a chess duel by the nasty looking King Black. PROBLEM: Fritz doesn't know how to play chess!!

Follow Fritz and his cousin Bianca across the kingdom as they play a variety of games in order to learn chess basics. Learn how the pieces move, and learn basic tactics like pins, etc. Piece valuation, how to win, etc. are other topics that are taught.

The cool thing is that my son doesn't realize that he is learning! The games are so fun and arcade-like, that he learns how the pieces move without even knowing it.

                  Examples of the games:
                  1. Sumo wrestlers on a circular board to teach about the king and the concept of "opposition."
                  2. A Pac-man-like game to teach the horizontal and vertical movement of the rook.
                  3. A Pong-like game of smashing toilets (no joke!) to get across the concept of the bishop's diagonal movement.

After going through all the training sessions, my son was ready to take on King Black. He still gets mostly crushed, but that is because he doesn't spend much time thinking before he makes a move. He has managed wins on the lower setting, but that's because the chess engine plays some of the most horrible moves, like leaving a queen hanging, etc.

Highly recommended for youngsters! My son may leave it alone for 3 or 4 weeks at a time, but he always comes back to play the games and to try his hand vs. King Black. Money well spent to teach kids a wonderful game.
