Pit comes neatly boxed with a set of durable game cards, instructions, and a heavy-duty metal bell that's great for slamming. There are rules included for a silent bidding version of the game, but jumping up and down, gesticulating wildly, and shouting yourself hoarse is half the fun. --George Laney

Yelling TWO, TWO, TWO! Great family game for all ages!A simple game to learn, ALL ages can enjoy this game together. 7 year olds could play this game and the adults don't necessarily have an advantage over the kids, which makes it fun for everyone.
Be ready to be LOUD - right now I can hear shouts of "Three, three, three" and laughter and I'm not even on the same floor as the Pit-Players!
I read in another review that this game was introduced in 1904. Obviously, this is a game that has staying power! Isn't it great that even with modern technology which allowed me to purchase this game online, we can enjoy games that were invented decades ago!
Turn off the TV, and spend time with your family playing games. Go make some memories!

So much fun!

Complete with cunning renditions of actual car models and a very playable interface, this game is great for the serious racing simulation fan and the casual gamer. It promises instant action and the kind of gradual advancement that keeps gamers playing for weeks. While the license tests can be hard, the fun track design and sheer number (140-plus) and variety of cars to choose from makes this an exciting race experience. --Allen Stewart
Pros:
- Great graphics
- More than 140 accurately modeled cars
- Awesome replays--actually looks like a TV race
- Steep learning curve

This game is simply "awesome!".
Pretty goodStarting off in the garage, Turismo scores big with 166 real-life cars, ranging from the lowly Honda Civic to the high-end dream machines like the Corvette, Viper, and Toyota Castrol Supra. The excellent selection of tracks delivers plenty of variety, and Turismo performs like a winner with no draw-in, speedy load times, and blazing-fast action. But gameplay is where Turismo really rocks. A fast, pick-up-and-play Arcade mode, along with topnotch two-player split-screen racing, positions Turismo at the head of the pack for casual racing fans. And hardcore racers who delve into the amazing Sim mode will uncover impressive depth. It's almost like fantasy league racing-you test for licenses, participate in a wide array of events, buy and maintain as many cars as you can afford, and even upgrade their performances with a vast multitude of parts.
Need for Speed III may have more flash, but Turismo's got more game. It's one of the must-buy titles of this summer.
My first review on Amazon.comI already have GT2 and demo of GT1 and I really love this game
It's great Even if you're not a racing fan this is the game for you!!! I like GT2 as well but I think GT1's better but how come The best gets better

Buzz off!1) Don't buy batteries (not included w/ the game). Really, there isn't much use for the buzzer, & it can be extremely annoying. There's enough excitement with the gameplay itself. The opposing team can just yell out "buzz," if they so desire.
2) Relatedly, the only things that you really need are the cards. The rest is just fluff. If you are familiar with the concept & rules, save yourself some $ and buy a booster pack. The booster is simply another stack of the cards with new words.
3) As in a lot of newer games, there are the inevitable current event (or not so current) related topics. If you don't know who Kenneth Starr or John Glenn are, you will be stymied on a few.
4) The better you know your partner(s), the better you will do. A lot of points come from saying stuff like: "Remember when we..." Try mixing up the teams for a fairer game.
Don't let these stop you from trying out this game, however. It's a ton of fun & has long-lasting appeal.
A lot of laughs!

Yahtzee like never beforeI got addicted the instant I started playing with it. I'm taking it everywhere I go when I have spare time. Even my grandma and my sister are addicted! When you get a Yahtzee you yell and shout for victory. I love this game! I guess this game's only educational value is thinking where you want to put your score or what "dice" you want to keep. Those are the biggest strategies. The other two points I didn't put for educational value is because that part is the pure luck of rolling the "dice".
I'm surprised this toy is so durable. There are handheld Poker games similar to this one that aren't as durable as this one.
I also have the electronic handheld battleship game by Milton Bradley. Out of all of the electronic handheld games that are out in the stores today, I'd say this one is the best.
Overall, I love this game. It is a great buy for those people that love toys!
Fun and addictive from the get go!

There are six different playable characters. No character can do something others can't the only differnce in them is there starting locations and there actual names. Your goal is to navigate the mansion finding out clues as to who committed the murder. You have to guess who did it, where the murder was done, and what was is done with. You go by trial and error throughout the house until you gather enough clues to guess it right.
The game itself is pretty durable. You have six token pieces, a six sided die, cards, a standard board, and paper sheets for you clue book. Unless something gets wet you should be set.
The game is educational because it makes you think. You have to keep track of your clues that you collect. You can also pick up other clues by paying attention to other peoples clues and who is proving them wrong. You can be quite savvy in the game and this part is quite educational and fun.
Clue is a classic game. People have been playing it for over 50 years. It's the classic game of who did it and it's a fun mystery. No game is ever the same and that makes it even more fun. No kid or adult should ever go there life without playing this game. So go get Clue and find out who did it.
An All-Time Favourite That Stands The Test Of TimeWhere else can you find such a great source of entertainment that provides real fun as well as an education in deductive reasoning?
CLUE offers a solid alternative to a boring night watching TV. And it certainly encourages family discussions as you play it. Now, that's something television doesn't offer!
Our kids are all grown up now, but we still get together frequently over the dining room table to have another CLUE evening.
The only criticism I have of the game is that the pads of detective notes are very hard to replace. I recently went into one local games store and was told they had been trying for two years to get a supply of the CLUE detective notes. Many customers had been apparently asking for them.
My solution was to simply create my own detective notes form on our home computer, using a graphics program.
Seems like we could have a supply-and-demand opportunity here.
Anyone listening out there in Parker Brothers land?
Detective VandelayThis is a board game that parents and children can play together...and both have fun.
What's in the game? The game board is filled with different rooms (kitchen, library, billard room etc) and spaces that lead you to the rooms..there are also two seceret passages. You have game pieces (all different colours) which represent the people ...who are all suspected of killing Mr. Boddy...was it Colonel Musterd? Mrs. Scarlett? or perhaps Mr. Green. To add, you have different weapons that could have led to Mr. Boddy's demise...the rope, revolver, candlestic etc.
All game players are given equil amounts of cards...each card has a person, weapon or a room on it. 3 cards (one room one weapon one person) are hidden in an envelope that cannot be opened until a player has decided he/she knows the answer. The player then looks at their cards and crosses off that person, room or weapon on his recording sheet...the player then can wonder about the other rooms etc
The players start rolling the dice, going into rooms and making accusations....
If you like detective work, try to find Mr. Boddy's killer!
You'll have fun!

Fun Party Game! There's a really loud beeping noise that accompanies the game - and it grows more intense minute by minute, until the device buzzes, and the person left holding the unit is the one who gets the 'raspberry' sound. (There's no volume control by the way, but if you're playing this with a lot of people, and there's tons of noise, you'll have a hard time even hearing the beeping)
Great party game, and good fun!
A Nerve-Wracking, Yet Highly Contagious GameThe premise of the game is simple: After setting the timer, your team has to guess what word or phrase is visible on the screen. The unit cannot be passed until someone says exactly what is on the screen. When someone does guess correctly, you pass it on to a member of the other team.
For example, if the word was "pumpkin," you could say something along the lines of, "Okay, guys, Peter-Peter-blank-eater!" If someone has been keeping up on their nursery rhymes, he or she will know that the word in place of "blank" is "pumpkin." Make sense?
This game is a blast when you get a huge amount of people to play. About a month ago, around 20 of us were playing it at the same time. Good times there, folks!
Fun: Fun, fun, FUN. I can't reiterate it enough. It's interesting to see how nervous people get when the timer starts beeping faster; hence, the buzzer is about to go off. For some reason, people get really panicky when the pressure starts to build. It's only a game, people! Of course, you don't realize that at the time. Everyone is yelling out answers, and with all the excitement going on, your heartbeat can rise in a hurry.
Educational Value: This is a thinking game. That's the only way I know how to put it. You have to think about what it is your teammate is trying to say without he or she actually coming out and saying it. And they're not all as easy as "pumpkin." There are some real stumpers in this game, and that only adds to the fun (or frustration depending upon what side you're on).
Durability: This game is very durable. Just don't drop it! It probably wouldn't hold up very well since this is the electronic version.
In short, "Catch Phrase" is a very cool game. It's great to play with a lot of people, and it never gets boring. I've played this numerous times, and I always have interesting stories to tell the next day.

Possibly the Best 4-X Game of All TimeMOO2 is endlessly replayable. In addition to the numerous standard alien races (all of which you can play), there are nearly limitless combinations of custom races you can make. This alone allows you to challenge yourself over and over. Try a crippled race with multiple penalties and no bonuses. Or try taking bonuses you don't usually like.
And the ship-building! This could be a game in an of itself. Everything is customizable, from the size of ship, to its armament, even down to its name. You can concentrate on massive, Death Star-like constructs, or field a fleet of easily replaceable "missile boats". Or perhaps you prefer Wing Commander-style carrier-based combat? MOO2 can handle that as well (although you don't get to control the individual fighters, just the capital ships).
Add in the random events, various galaxy sizes, and Antaran attacks, and you have a game that never fails to entertain. MOO2 will still be on my hard drive 10 years from now.
Absolutely still the best space strategy game
Will you be the Master of Orion?I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and still am!

Good game, but hardly a deluxe editionGraphics: 3.75/5
Sure, the graphics are dated, but the color brings new life into them. The picture is very clear and there is little blurring.
Play Control: 4.25/5
Simple and to the point, though a little weird at first. It's strange not having your shield and sword out all the time. You can only have two items out at a time, but overall, this ends up working out pretty well.
Challenge: 3.5/5
Lots of puzzles, but not a lot of direct challenge. The enemy population seems to be imbalanced. Some are easy to kill, others virtually invincible. The same applies to the dungeon bosses.
Theme/Fun: 4.5/5
A lengthy and portable quest that you can save your progress in. This is an excellent game, but this Deluxe edition will not satisfy those who have the original version. The "new dungeon" isn't even that long, and it focuses on color so much that it gets annoying. Also, you CAN'T CANCEL TEXT MESSAGES WHEN YOU TALK TO PEOPLE! If anything, that's a DOWNGRADE from the old game! Other than that, it's a good game though. And how can you not love that crane machine game?
Music/sound: 3/5
Average for the Game Boy. Nothing really stands out above anything else.
Storyline: 3.5/5
After a shipwreck, Link is awakened by a young girl, and told that he is in a dream world. He must destroy the nightmare trying to conquer the dimension, or he will never wake up. This game takes place immediately after A Link To The Past. It's a cheesy story, but it works.
Overall: 4/5
Got a Game Boy? Get this game (unless you've already got the original edition. There's no reason to have both.) If you want an ultimately satisfying portable adventure, this is it.
"Legend" says it allGraphics- Amazing for its time, and still is. Now that it's in color, they look wonderful all over again. 10/10
Sound- Yes its on the terrible GB speakers, but the music is pretty decent (if a bit repetitive). 7/10
Gameplay- Simply put, everyone should at least give 2D Zelda a try. 9/10
Value- With tough puzzles, this game is very long. Has enough secrets to replay through few more times too. Again, has a lot of length to it. 10/10
Overall- 10/10
Of the Zeldas I have played, this is one of the best ones, second only to the awe-inspiring Ocarina of Time. Don't make your GB less worth it by NOT getting this game: a classic that has stood the test of time. Long live Zelda!
Legend of Zelda:Link's Awakening DX.....The game begins with Link waking up in a hut. He is told by the locals that to leave and go back to Hyrule, he must awaken the Wind Fish. It lives inside an egg on top of a nearby mountain and can only be lulled from its' sleep by playing eight magical instruments. You spend your time trying to round up these eight instrumants but, in order to do so, you have to endure varying types of puzzles, traps and enemies. Each puzzle you're faced with has a logical solution, and you'll only come across a few situations that will require you to leave and get new items from the outside. Koholint Island, is big(by Gameboy standards anyhow) - even more so when you consider the hidden underground passageways, dungeons, and waterways so you'll have plenty of exploring to do with alot of secrets to uncover. You'll definitely spend countless hours playing this game.
Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance owners are granted access to an all-new exclusive dungeon(although it isn't required or necessary to complete the game) plus those with a Gameboy printer get a photo scrapbook of Link's adventures that you can copy...hence the DX(deluxe) added at the end of the title of this version.
This is one classic that shouldn't be missed. If you've played any of the other Legend of Zelda games, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You don't know what you're missing.

The most complete and truly epic game ever. You take the role of an anonymous young boy who is serving in the youth brigade of the Highland Army with his best and childhood friend Jowy. After the two are decieved by their home country of Highland in a surprise night attack, they embark on a quest to bring their country back to rights and out of the control of the evil prince Luca Blight. It is a poignant tale of friendship, love, trust, betrayal and destiny which will have you gripped till the end. The characters are those whom you feel a real connection with and actually start to harbour feelings for (I say that at the risk of sounding totally cheesy, but it's true.) The story is admittedly not a hundred miles away from that of every other RPG out there but there is something that makes it seem very special.
Many people I have heard have tried to put it down for its graphics, which are to say the least are hardly ground breaking, but with a story and gameplay this good who cares. I personaly think that if Konami had created Suikoden II in 3D, it would have made it considerably less enjoyable. The music also adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game (especially noticeable in the amazing starting sequence.) There are great orchestral tunes for the more dramatic parts yet happy, perky tunes for the more light-hearted moments. No matter the situation the music and SFX are always fitting.
The battles play major role in the game and are very similar to the first game (which i played after the second.) There are the usual random party battles with up to six characters being in the party at once. In these battles you will fight many different enemies in a variety of different backdrops. Characters have the commands to attack using standard weapons, use magic from their different runes which can be attached, use items (e.g. curative and attacking) of which each character can carry three, defend, change between back and front row positions, and special unite moves. Unite allows the characters to team up with other specific characters and use a more powerful combined attack. Not all of the characters can use these attacks. This is a great way of encouraging you to experiment with characters rather than staying with the same old party throughout the game. There are also one-on-one battles with important characters at certain points of the game, which aren't exactly brilliant but offer an interesting change. Then there are the strategic army battles in which the good guys (you and your followers) take on the bad guys (the Highland Army) with entire armies. These are some of my favourite parts of the game and are great fun. Although sometimes you are forced to lose because that is the way of the story line.
All of the elements of Suikoden II come together to make the most complete, entertaining and truly epic game I have ever played. If you don't buy this or at least give it a chance and try it you will truly have missed something special.
Another classic amde by Konami
