Fantastic for all ages.

We have been able to play a simplified version of this game with our 4-year-old (either by working together against the game or later, by playing each other). However, we're not at all embarrassed to play this with adults. The rules are simple enough for young children to understand, but there is enough strategy involved that really mastering the game can take a while. Even my 64-year-old mother loves to play!

Not just kids stuff

My family has an entire closet dedicated to games but Landlock is the one we reach for the most. From the toddler who enjoys making maps with the sturdy little pieces to the grown-ups who hold grudge matches in the evenings, everyone loves it. Adult guests might look at you funny when you bring out the "gnome game" but only until you've whipped 'em a few times. The game box is also small, making it easy to toss into a suitcase or picnic basket.

Love this game-- all ages

It took a while to get the scoring and the strategy down, but my 8-year old and I would list this among our favorite games. Our family is a BIG fans of most all of the Gamewright games, but this one in particular manages to put an 8-year old and a 40-year old on the same playing field, so to speak. In fact, he has learned to take advantage of me by switching "Land vs. Water" positions every other game so that I become confused whether I'm trying to build "islands or ponds." Get the game. You'll learn what I mean.

Great game for great fun

Lord of the Rings Expansion is a good game. If you lose you will want to play it until you win. A little difficult to understand at first. Also at times frustrating, but you can make it through. Very hard with just two people, Medium with three, Kind of Easy with four, and Easy with five. As the BIg Eye comes toward you, or when you roll the dice it get thrilling. Its kind of a piece of cake once you play it alot. That is why I give this game 2 thumbs up. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT GAME!!!!!

A spectacular addition to a great game.

The Friends and foes expansion set adds three vital components to the LOTR game system.

1. It adds the Bree game board and events including Tom Bombadil (whose absense from the movie is painful)

2. It adds Isengard game board and events

3. It adds the many foes from the book really giving the game a new outlook.

Now in addition to all of the various problems you may already face now the wolf riders, the uruk-hai, and the cave-trolls add to your grief and the various foes appear to battle you. You must keep these foes in check as they sap your strength and allow Sauron time to grow ever closer. Defeat enough of them you might be able to avoid some of the great dangers that lie ahead altogeter, allow enough of them to plague you and you will be overwhelmed and defeated.

This is money well spent. If you own the game buy it!

Lord Sauron shows NO Mercy

Without the expansion, it is difficult enough for the four hobbits to make it to Mordor, but with this expansion comes an army of enemies to band against the players.

This game shows team players how to rely and work together, as they depend on the survival of the ring bearer to make it as far as possible.

One of the few games that allows for selfless acts and creates one goal for the players....the enemy is Sauron, NOT the other players.

Fun with Math

This is a great toy! My son loves the Math Mat so much that when I challenge him to a game he shouts out the answers to the problems and occasionally tries to step on the buttons even when it's my turn to play! This is a great toy for letting the kids run off some of their energy as they review their basic math skills. My 5-year-old son runs around the mat as the computer voice says the equation and then he quickly runs to step on the answer. The mat has three games (number identification and sequence, addition, and subtraction) and two levels of play. Regarding addition and subtraction, the first level requires you to find the sum or the difference and the second level gives you the answer to the problem and the first number in the equation and you provide the missing number. We use level 1 as a warm up since it provides a good review and then we play level 2 for a challenge.

I'd give this toy more than 5 stars in the fun and educational categories if I could. Since most children are quite active and learn math at different rates and since repetition is good at this stage, most children would get a lot of good quality use out of this game. I think the durability is pretty good also but it's really too soon to know.

WHAT A GREAT "TOY"

We just got this two days ago. It is a great toy. My 5 yr old was up at 7:00 this morning playing it! My 2 1/2 yr old even plays it because they have a number recognition mode. It's great for my 5 yr old and I to play together and see who can get to the answer first. He loves doing kartwheels while landing his hand on the right answer. Good Job Learning Resources! Two notes: this math goes up to the end of second grade (18 + what = 22 and 20 - what = 12) and as mentioned in a previous review, it is difficult to hear when there is anyone talking in the room, but the is a repeat button. Therefore I would say it is for 2 1/2 - 7 yr olds.

Worth writing a review for ( this is My first)

I am the mother of a very hyper 5 year old boy soon to be entering kindergarden. It has been very difficult and expensive to try and find ways to teach him without boring or frustrating him. I have bought many electronical educational toys and I'd have to say this is about the best one so far to date. I have many leappad products and while they are great in theory, they are not for my hyper child that just wants to "play" and not sit down with some reading pad or talking phonic treehouse. The only time he will sit for a period of time to learn is with his computer games.

I think this is so good for my son because he is hyper and it allows for and even encourages movement. Yet, this toy also requires listening and focused attention. Due to the latter fact, I will admit that at first it seemed like another waste of money. He was getting frustrated because he wasn't getting the right answers and didn't want to play. My son does not know all his #'s and that was my main purpose for buying this item. I did figure out the best way for him was to deivide up the #'s between us. He got the 0-5 and I took 6-10. It's been less than a week and he has almost mastered his side. All in only 10-15 mins of play each day. The fact that he will still play it is a major thrill for me. It's fun factor also comes from it being sort of a timed game so that after each correct answer its ticking will speed up and once time is up it will tell you how many you got correct. We have the highest score possible on the #'s and he is almost as proud as I am.
There are 2 levels and 3 activities: Numbers, addition and subtraction. We are just on numbers but once he learns all of them (my side and his)I know this will be a great way to help him with adding and subtracting as well. There are also some really great suggestions as for other ways to play using the mat included.
So as long as it holds up I'd have to say it's a wonderful toy and not just in theory.

1 of the games of my top 10 list of greatest games!!!!!!!!!!

I've had this game a long long time and ive beaten it like 999 times. Its really easy. lots of people played MDK and most of them liked it. In 1 school year 4 people in my class have beaten it already Charlie Lamb, Chris Nelson, Kasey, and Chase Passuer. MDK is an easy game with a good plot and a funny/gross ending. this has to be one of the best games ever.

Kickass game

I love playing this game on my CD-Rom.The graphics are terrific, the gameplay is good and there's lots of sly wit(The dummy decoy, Bones Airstrike,the hilariously ugly and stupid bad guys).I wanna get MDK 2 soon.

Funny, funny, and really good graphics

MDK has very good graphics. The story behind it is pretty cliche, but the gameplay is fun and there's always something new around the corner. The controls are very easy to get used to.

Great Memory Card

This Memory Card is just as good as microsofts card only it looks a hole lot cooler and cheaper. It is great for transporting data so you can play what you saved on your own XBOX on your friends XBOX. It fits right in the back the controller and has 8 Mega Bytes of space on it. It is definitly a must for XBOX.

Doesn't work on Xp

I've played this game on Windows 98 and it was very fun. But I upgraded to Windows Xp and I can't play it at all. Acclaim is too lazy to make a Windows Xp patch. I gave it a four because when i had Win 98 it was so cool. Acclaim must make a patch!

Don't listen to that Gamespot review

When this game came out, slower PCs would indeed cause delayed pathfinding. On a modern PC it runs very quickly indeed. Also, that reviewer doesn't know his terminology. While some of the STRATEGIC intelligence is a little unimpressive, much of the UNIT intelligence is excellent. Units run to help each other out, non-combat units retreat from danger toward areas of relative safety etc. And unlike most RTSs of the period, you actually have to come up with decent tactical dispersals to fight the enemy well; dumb tank rushes won't necessarily achieve your goal. And lastly, the first person perspective is VERY useful if used judiciously. You just have to use it well; set a bunch of machines to follow a certain unit, then hop into that unit, and drive it around, with a group of AI-controlled minders in tow. This isn't a perfect game, but it's a very fun one.

AWESOME

This game is the bomb! You get to sabotage enemy researchers and bases. You can play a battle, special, or full leanth game! When you choose battle, a group of machines are already waiting for your commands to destroy the enemy race(s). If you choose a full leanth (normal) game you start out with a few machines, and you start building defences, buildings, defenders, constructors, spys (they steal enemy research and lay mines), locators (to find mineral deposits), and other cool stuff! If you choose special, you get a huge battle!

not bad, kinda repetitive

This is an excellent game from Rockstar. I beat it a long time ago and just decided to review it. The gameplay is fast paced and unique. There is a feature called bullet time (this was probably the first game that allowed you to do this) that allows you to slow down everything and dive across the room, shooting as you go, but being given sufficient time to take out 1 0r 2 enemies per dive (more if you have explosives or a fully automatic). My one complaint (apart from the ridiculously corny dialogue and narrations) is that jumping around in slow motion and shooting people is practically all you do. Don't get me wrong, you also have to go around throwing switches and retrieving items, but this is secondary to diving around in slow motion and killing people. You still have to use some strategy, though, so your tactics must improve, which is the reason this game didn't get 3 stars. there are different difficulty levels and play modes, but once you've beaten the game once, you don't feel the need to go through it again, just play your favorite levels over and over. good game.

Kewl Game

Well i Have to agree with the person below me that this is a great game. However I have to dissagree w/ the graphics. I have Seen better from lesser games. But Still the Grapics are Pretty Cool. I really like the Slow-motion. And all the weapons you get.

Now this game has it all, and I was surprised when I bought it. It has ausome graphics, like sometimes when you shoot someone with a shotgun, it goes into slowmo! It also has a kickbutt story line. But the guns are the coolest, you get a molotov cocktail, sawed off shotgun, and my favorite, the MAC 10. So if your smart,go buy it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the game that started a PC revolution!

This game is fantastic, and because of it's age, will run on older computers. There was a game that came out before this one called Battletech 3: Mechwarrior, but it was really bad. I think it was only 16 colors, if that tells you anything.

The 3D graphics are spartan for today's standards, but if you want to see the first generation of Mech combat, grab this one.

Hello, 'Mechs!

This is a great game for beginners and experts on MechWarrior. It's got everything. It has I.S.(Inner Sphere) and Clan 'Mechs. It helps you understand MechWarrior. I repeat, this is a terrific game.

This is a great game !

Mech2's expansion is a great game.

I have never seen so many mechs in one game of all the mech games I have played this is the only one with a large ammount of mechs includeing the common mechs now Timber Wolf, Dire Wolf, Atlas, and my personal favorite mech the Elemental not a mech but a body armor hehe 1 star of those vs a Dire Wolf is a great fight :)

The Single Player missions are pretty good they take a while to beat as you are a Mercenary you can higher lance mates and you have contracts for decideing where you fight. The ability to choose where you fight is very nice considering some of the battles are right out of battletech history :) so you can play out history instead of just reading it.

The online gameplay is good they have improved alot over mechwarrior2's online gameplay which had the DFA bug and several other small bugs to my knowledge there is not as many bugs in this game.

Another thing that is very nice is that they upgraded the graphics in this version and the 3dfx version. The previous version did not have that good of graphics.

Good things:

very few bugs

Bad Things:
Well far as I can see there are none besides the fact that your a Mercenary and personnaly I perfered the Clan Story line over the Merc.

A very cool color, but dosn't save games all the time.

This memory card is very cool, it's got the color, but it dosn't always save what you want like I saved a Parisite Eve game and I was at the end of disk one, so when I went to load it it said there was no file, but when I went to the memory card screen it was there the logo. I'm just saying that was my second game it didn't save when I told it to save (the game was Alundra 2, I recomend it!!) so you better to always save it twice (overwright to make sure!! But other than that it's very cool.

Holds Memory Until The End Of Time!

This little thing slips into the Playstation One and never falls off. I played Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare with it and was able to save a spot in the game fifteen times. One spot of memory can be automatically erased by selecting that certain numeral/title for your new spot to save a game, and yet save all other spots too. No need to start a game from the very beginning anymore. Just select the spot you want to begin at. YOU CAN FINALLY WIN THE GAME! Note: Has an Emerald Green memory card ever reminded you of those little Cool Mint Listerine PocketPaks? Don't you wish just once you could put a pocketpak inside the memory card slot?

THIS MEMORY CARD KICKS A**

For a while I was looking for a memory card for my Playstation. I decided to order one of the Mega Memory Cards that has over 1,000 blocks of memory. This was a total mistake. After using it for less than half an hour I found out that it was the worst memory card you can buy. It sucked so much that I actually returned it the next day and bought this memory card. I was scared at first that there weren't going to be enough blocks, considering there's only 15. But those memory cards with 15+ are so confusing when you have to switch from page to page in order to save your data. All I am saying is this. Whatever you do, don't you dare buy a memory card for your Playstation that isn't made by Sony. Everyone no name memory card I have tried is full of glitches and are annoying when you have to follow certain steps when saving data. This memory card is the best I have seen. I actually have two of them right now, one for my sports games and one for my action and shooting games. This is the perfect memory card for anybody. There are plenty of blocks, no glitches, and user friendly. Your search ends here with your purchase of this product by SONY. Over all this memory card kicks A**!!!

the best for ps2 and ps1

well this is definitely the card to buy if you are an avid gamer. it may not have a whole lot of space but it is the best one to get. DO NOT GET THE 2X ONES OR ANYTHING ELSE NOT MADE BY SONY. i had lots o problems trying to get one of those to work on my ps2 and it corrupted and wouldn't save anymore. so buy this one, it is definitly the one to buy.

Best memory card

This is the best memory card to buy, it may cost a little more than the rest but its worth the money. DO NOT buy other memory cards from other companies i had that experience after a while the just stop working or become corrupted especially those 2x-72x pages ones. These ones may have a small capasity but the work perfectly.Plus its a great colour
