A fun way to improve the whole families word power
This game is a delightful change of pace from traditional Scrabble. It helps the whole family master the art of anagrams in an easy, fun, challenging and FAST format. The winner is the first to make and KEEP six words. Not as easy as you might think. You, or your opponent, can steal words by adding one or more letters to create a new word, which you then keep as your own.As it says on the box, "it ain't over 'til it's over." The game is portable and easy to throw into your bag when you are going on vacation. It is best played with 3-4 players. I am looking forward to playing in teams.
Definitely one of the best games I have ever played.

    Better Than Scrabble
This game is fun and quicker than Scrabble, but uses similar word skills. It's perfect for those who love word games and it's very portable. Give it a try, you'll really like it.

    20 Questions
    Made by University Games
    Age Group: 7 - 12 years
      Amazon base price: $
      List price: $19.99 (that's NaN% off!)
Strictly speaking, 20 Questions isn't a game that you need special rules or a board for. But innovative as ever, University Games makes a good thing better with a fun design and a little extra help for younger players. This product features a game board (2 to 10 players race around a question mark-shaped circuit) and 150 question cards (for 3,000 total clues). Each card has a person, place, thing, or year (either recent or otherwise noteworthy, like 1989 or 1776) with 20 clues about the subject. Players take turns trying to figure out the clues ("My favorite cat wears a hat," "I am a doctor who has no patients"), and both the reader and the guesser advance based on how quickly the subject gets figured out. --Paul Hughes

      Fun for kids
My six year old loves this game, but it's too easy for adults. If I don't pretend I don't know the answer, then I will beat him every time. It's great for kids to play with each other.

This game is entertaining. Fun and challenging game. Keeps kids alert and working on clue giving skills.

      Great Game
My seven year old daughter loves to play this game! I love it because it's very educational. She enjoys using her knowledge from school and just general knowledge to figure out the answer. She's learned a lot of new things, too.

Crazy 8s - You have to be Crazy not to own this game!
Remember the great games of crazy 8s you played as a kid? This is the gmae to own, and it's not just for kids! You can play against bots or go online to a fabulous community of card players and play against real people. The server, Gamesmith, is the friendliest place on the net and Crazy 8s is the craziest one so the combination is unbeatable! Such a small price to pay for so much fun!

        Not just for kids
Sure, buy it for the kids, but you'll find yourself playing it every night in spite of yourself. The different options for playing allow so much strategy and conniving that it becomes an adult game. Add in the ability to change rooms, players, skill levels, play solo or online....it's a gem that is very well made and will keep your attention for YEARS to come.

Get game with many different rule combinations
This game is very well done and can be played by anyone. Rules are easy to pick up and there are dozens of ways to play. Another great one from the guys at Freeverse!!

          a great deal!
I purchased this game because it was on clearance. My husband and I love strategy games so I thought we could give it a try. I wasn't sure how fun it would be as there was no description of the game. But, I was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I play it quite often-it is one of our favorite games now! Because of the strategy part, each time you play is different. It was definitely worth the few dollars I spent on it-a great deal! The reason for the 3 stars on the durability is because when I recieved the game, one marble was chipped and now chips easily, but otherwise it seems to be okay. There really is no educational value except for the strategy part.

          You'll be hooked!
Moving the black and white balls around seems like it could be mundane but be careful......there's strategy involved. Our family has spent endless hours battling each other for board dominance. It's not as simple as it looks. Once you learn a few strategic moves, you'll be hooked. If you enjoy games that involve a little thinking, this isn't a bad one to add to your collection. My children challenge the adults just as much as the adult battle each other. One of a few games that isn't too difficult for all age groups to learn and master.

Hey hey! Not just another playstation controller...
It is a controller that is Emerald green and still transparent so that you can see the mechinizims on how the controller vibrate. Other than being an offical sony product, the controller does work quite well like other sony made controllers. I highly suggest only sony name brand of controllers for quality high craftmanship. Don't rely on secondhand company made products like Madcatz, what kind of name is that? not that there is something wrong with it

            Great Controller
With the cool color and Dual shock feature, it really helps you get a feel for the game. Sony brand is the best out there. You really do get good quality. Plus, those other controllers are big and bluky, they get in the way. Anyway, I recommend this as the best controller for your money.

            Cool Green Color
You can see the things that make the controller shake

I received this from Hitmenow.com through Amazon.com. The service was Awsome, and the product is exactly what they said it would be- AND I saved some money. Barbara

              Great controller!
Not much to say, except I like the color, and the dual shock feature which will definitely improve the realistic value in your games. Whether, your receiver gets lit up over the middle, you check your oppenent into the boards, or you just rocked the other teams pitcher with an HR, you'll feel the vibration.

Sony makes the best you know?(Besides Squaresoft)
This Controller works perfectly. It vibrates alot in some games, but most of them allow you to control the vibration level. The Analog things don't stick, and the R2 and L2 buttons are bigger. This is a very good controller.

While Andy's away, the toys will play--or in this case, they'll race around in pintsize vehicles. Toy Story Racer is a kart racing game that features 10 characters from the popular film series, including Woody, Buzz, and Hamm the pig, each with his or her own unique vehicle. There are 20 racetracks and a variety of power-ups to edge you toward infinity (though not beyond). In addition to racing through film-inspired environments, players can fulfill different quests, which make the game unfold like a storybook. Success opens up further quests and characters. The game's artificial intelligence adjusts the competitive drive of computer opponents to each player's abilities, so younger fans of the Toy Story films who are new to video games won't get frustrated by constantly eating Woody's dust.

My son is crazy over this game!
Its been a great addition to our kids games. Its nice to have games for the younger ones that they can enjoy! I only wish it was easier to find in stores!

                Family time!
I love playing this game with my kids. The controls are easy and the concept is straightforward. By owning the movies, you must own this game for the young and old gamers.

To the race track and and beyond !
This game is fun. If you liked the Toy Story movies than you should like this game. I think they should have made it so you can play as Zurg, Jessie, Bullseye, and Stinky Pete the Prospector. I think that Buzz should be the fastest and toughest since he's a space hero. The gameplay and graphics are top quality. I really liked the music for some of the courses like the gas station or Andy's neighborhood. My personal favorite character is the LGM toy. I recommend you buy this game if your a Toy Story fan. The LGM's lines are funny. This game may be hard for little kids though. I hope you found this review helpful.

                Trivial Pursuit: Millennium Edition

The game features all the classic Trivial Pursuit categories and lets players choose between Classic Pursuit and two new games, Point Pursuit (race the clock) and Party Pursuit (be the first to buzz in with the answer). The game includes 2,000 new questions, animation, realistic voice-overs, and witty humor.
                  Average review score:

A "must-buy" for Pursuit fans; an "okay-buy" for trivia fans
If you like the original board game, you'll no doubt love this surprisingly expanded computer version. Though traditional play is well-emulated, two other forms of the game are included here, which are different enough to be considered unique. In "Party Play", contestants huddle around a keyboard, trying to buzz in before their competitors, rewarding not just the smart, but the quick as well. "Point Pursuit" also gives the possibility of multiple player action, but is perhaps most fun for single players looking for a quick, 20 question version that involves a bit of strategy.

With 2000 different questions, and several game play options, you'll no doubt be playing this game for a long time. To be sure, the low selling price makes this game an excellent value for money.

Having said that, there are problems.

First, as another reviewer has pointed out, it DOES crash a lot if you do anything less than a full install--an operation that takes half a gigabyte of hard disk space. And, unlike other software titles where a full install puts a lot of rarely-used cinematics on your hard drive, you pretty much need everything in the full install to play the game. There is, therefore, a noticeable slowdown during normal play if you haven't done a full-install. So even if Hasbro comes out with patches that'll fix the crash problem, you're still stuck needing a pretty big chunk of free hard disk space to play the game at its best. People with limited hard disk space might therefore find themselves in a frustrating position.

Second, Macintosh users are completely left out of the fun. Though the game appears to use technology easily enough converted to Macintosh use, there's not currently a version catering to that market.

Third, if you're a fan of computer trivia games, there's a sense of "too little too late" about this product. While it arguably has the most trivia questions of any major trivia brand, its use of multimedia technology isn't terribly innovative. It's all been done before, and better, by You Don't Know Jack and its many brand name cousins.

Ultimately, then, your potential enjoyment of this game depends largely on whether you're looking for a good trivia game or looking for Trivial Pursuit. If you love Trivial Pursuit (and have a lot of hard drive space) you'll be surprised at how much more playable this CD is than the board game. But if you love trivia in general--and want a game that's totally different from any other trivia game you know--you'll probably be happier with the You Don't Know Jack series.

                  Educational, Challenging and Fun!
Whether you want trivia just for a fun challenge or are simply wanting to expand your mind to things you're unaware of, this game is perfect for it! My favorite feature is that many questions are supplemented with "additional" information after a question is answered by using visuals and audio to further enhance your knowledge and understanding. There are 2000 questions which do not repeat until all have been used, and you can play solo. The questions are fun, interesting, challenging and quite diverse within the categories. The game design and graphics are great, and the game moves quickly from question to question. The music is fun as well with different music for each category. Overall? A very enjoyable, high-quality game that has education and entertainment all wrapped up together!

                  A Great Game for Non-Gamers
My girlfriend's favorite computer games are Pandora's Box and a shareware version of Pac-Man. She's also a big fan of Regis' Millionaire TV game show. When I wanted to buy her a present, I wasn't sure which between Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and this Trivial Pursuit game would be easy to for her to get in to without a lot of set-up. Turns out this was absolutely the best choice between the two. We love playing against each other, and with the 2,000 non-repeating questions (see the great review below) we don't have to worry about the problems all the reviewers of the Regis game seem to have. Not to mention that the questions are pretty tough, too-no Millionaire-like throw-aways. There are three different ways to play this Trivial Pursuit, depending on how long you want to play, and fans of You Don't Know Jack will love the option of having three friends compete at once. But YDKJ fans might miss the acerbic voice acting-Trivial Pursuit is a little hammy but keeps a comparatively straight face. Finally, I recommend doing a full install, since the game crashed a few times when reading from the disc. A big thank you to the reviewer below-since their comments made the choice so much easier. My non-gaming girlfriend is happy, so brownie-points for you and me.

                  The Unholy War
                  Made by Eidos Interactive

When developers blend strategy games and arcade games, the result is often a somewhat diluted hybrid that fails to appeal to either type of gamer. Miraculously, The Unholy War does an admirable job of blending both genres. The meat of The Unholy War is a lightning-quick, 3-D arcade combat engine that lets a variety of inspired units duke it out in various combat arenas. The units have strengths and weaknesses that play off one another in the ultimate game of rock-paper-scissors.

The strategy portion of The Unholy War adds an extra layer to the gameplay and complements the tactical combat nicely. Here, players move their combatants across a strategic map, attempting to place units on spots where the terrain offers an advantageous position. Units gain some extra abilities on the strategic map, which can be used to better secure a position, and when two units meet on the map, gameplay switches immediately to the arcade-combat mode where a victor is determined. It's a challenge making certain your units are positioned correctly, and the fun explodes when you play against a friend. --T. Byrl Baker

                    Pros:

                    • Very good 3-D graphics
                    • Arcade game can be played separately
                    • Strategy elements add depth
                    Cons:
                    • Strategy fans may not like the steep reflex requirements
                    Average review score:

                    A genre all it's own...
My roommate picked this game up the very same day he shipped his ex-girlfriend off to California. He picked it up at a pawn shop because he liked, "the cool cover."

Fast forward to now, almost a YEAR AND A HALF later, we both STILL play this one game against each other on almost a daily basis (on the PS2 no less!). For the record, I've been a video game junkie since the Atari 2600 was the latest news. Missile Command, Defender, Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong Country, Chrono Trigger, and Grand Theft Auto 3 had their tenures. So did Twisted Metal 2, Black, the Tekken series (all five!) AND the Gran Turismo series (all three!). None can of these games can even come CLOSE to the replay value of Unholy War, and that's just taking into consideration the WELL above average AI...

(The stragegy mode VS the computer isn't too difficult, even on hard, due to the fact the 'board mode' AI isn't very intelligent at all. Mayhem mode is VERY difficult to beat, and you can only call yourself 'Lord of Unholy War AI' if you can beat Teknos (you) VS All (AI) in mayhem mode.)

I have long since stopped playing against the AI (save a 'Teknos VS All' match every once in awhile), but I STILL play against my roommate almost EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! The suprising thing is, we're STILL learning new map strategies, more strengths and weaknesses in the 14 characters and different strategies to exploit in the 14 levels and 10 worlds that you can fight in.

The oddest this about Unholy War is how drastically your tactics change (HAVE to change, I might add) playing VS another player, versus playing against the computer. The computer AI's biggest strength is it's ability to 'out-reflex' you (Mogalin is a perfect example), but it's biggest weakness is it's inability to 'out-think' you (Angel is a perfect example, because the computer Angel is SO easy to beat with most anyone, but is arguably the most powerful character in the game, next to Quicksilver that is). When you play against another player who can play in the same league as you, it's almost like playing an entirely different game. This is one of those rare games that BEGS for an emulator version capable of 'internet VS' play to be made. I'd take any of ya'll on... mhua ha ha...

Oh yes, there ARE two secret levels to unlock, the Menhir Circle and Dark Maze. Menhir Circle is nothing special, but Dark Maze holds the distinct honor of being the most 'fair' level because ALL FOUR different powerups appear in this level. There are also two secret characters to unlock in the game, Beta Razorfane and MegaPrana. I don't mind spoiling the 'surprise' because these two characters can only be used in Mayhem mode, and they are EXTREMELY more powerful than anyone else. In fact, my roommate and I refuse to play Mayhem mode with these characters because they are so overpowered. If they would only release Unholy War2 on the PS2 with a Beta version of EVERYONE...

Give it a try, you WILL NOT be dissapointed.

One of the most underrated small titles on the PSX
The Unholy War is simply put one the most unique games on the PSX. It is a simple Stradegy game that not many have ever heard of. I was introduced this little title on a Offical Playstation Magazine Demo Disk. On the Demo they had 4 characters playable, eah with their own strength and Weakness. I was hooked. When I purchased the game I loved it even more with the increase in Characters and the stradegy mode made the game a lot of fun to play.

Now the story behind the Unholy War is that these evil Aliens who support Technology 100% land on planet in order to Strip it of all it's natural resources. The natives however fight back. Lead by the Archangel's the natives fight back.

Each Army has their own cast of Characters and each have their own strengths and Weakness. With three difficulties for the story mode it leads to more and more challenges, sometimes you are overwhelmed and sometimes you have the advantage. However in the end you can unlock two more levels and two more insane guys that easily gives the advantage to anyone who uses them in Battle Mode. However if not in the hands of a skilled player even these might titans can be defeated.

Overall this truely a classic game that deserves to be purchased. Unfortunatly when it was first released it like Tobal #1, Brave Fencer Mushashi, Parasite Eve and numerouse other games on the PSX it was given a Demo of game that was recieving a lot of Hype at the time, LEgacy of Kain SOul Reaver. So in the case people purchased the game (if they purchased it) just for the Demo of Soul Reaver so it was obviouse that there was not much faith in this. This is one of the most addicting and fun games available on the PSX.

By far, one of the most addicting Playstation games!
Hear me out... I have a Playstation2 with a few games...I have this game (Unholy War) for my original Playstation and I end up some how, playing this game more than I do the Playstation2, its that fun. It's such a unigue game featuring battle fields where you take control over about 10 "things" on your team (everything from a Prana, the animal, to a Mech) and duke it out 1 on 1 at a time against the same type of enemy's on the other side. Its an awesome multiplayer game! It even works with analog. I would strongly recomend this game to anyone this Holiday season. Buy it. A+

                    cool but dangerous
I was playing meadle of honor on my xbox and a piece of the right triger button broke into my hand. I bleed alot and there was a big cut on my finger, I thought that I was dying, but of course my wish of my death did not come true. I hoped that this poorly designed controller but it didn't so now I just by from different video game company's.

                    Uber Green
This controller is great. I've owned it for about two months and no problems. The 'S' design is great. I mostly play Halo, PGR, and Top Spin for hours straight and I'm not sure why, but my hands dont sweat as much with this controller as with a PS2 controller. And the clear green makes it look awesome. And another feature that's very much overlooked is the detatchable cord that comes apart when you trip over the cord, this way your console stays safely on the shelf. I've tripped over the PS2 controller a few times and it comes tumbling down onto my foot. And the end of the controller easily snaps into the port. XBOX Rules.

                    Yup. Green.
First off, this is literally a translucent green controller S. Short of change in color, there's no other difference in playability or quality. If you want in-depth reviews of the quality of the Controller S, you may want to read reviews of the standard black controller (as there are probably many more). I'll just go over the highlights:

                    Pros:
-Microsoft brand. Perfect quality of control, super durable, all the features, etc etc as noted above.
-Cool translucent green color matches the visual style of the XBox in addition to just looking cool.
-The S is probably the single best XBox controller, and is superior to the origional controller for fast games (fighting, Tony Hawk, etc).

                    Cons:
-If you've read any reviews for the S, the cons are the same. The white, black, start, and back buttons are a little hard to reach, and the D-Pads aren't perfect.

                    Summary:
-This is the best XBox controller, in a cooler color. I wish I had a full fleet of four just so they'd all match.
