Wonderful way to pass the time....
fun game for all

A child doesn't have to read to play this game, but they must love puzzles (and most do) to enjoy it.
The puzzle pieces are made of standard cardboard and they can get worn out after some use. But I think one will get enough fun out of this game to worth the money.
The idea of the game is to use puzzle pieces to create a series of long dragons. The longer your dragon, the more points you get. Well, those are the simple rule, which are great for young players, but if you're a fan of strategy games, there are more complex gameplay variations that will put your brain to the test. Or, you don't have to play it as a game at all. It's fun to just put it together as an free form jigsaw puzzle, too.
Our family and friends have been playing SNAP for some time now with children as young as 3 and adults as old as 83. With its great artwork and creative design and rules, SNAP creates fun times for all.
SNAP play itself involves no language or math skills... it mainly involves spatial relationships - object orientation and color matching. SNAP is very much like doing a very simple jigsaw puzzle. Game 2, the simplest, simply involves being the first player to get rid of his/her cards first. Games 1 and 3 involve points and score keeping.
SNAP has a very unique play feedback mechanism (incorrectly placed tiles won't snap together) that prevents players from making a bad placement of a SNAP tile card. This feature makes SNAP very good for a wide range of abilities. SNAP should be a great resource for persons with disabilities.
SNAP plays quite fast, so parents should always be able to get at least one quick game in with a pleading child when time is tight. SNAP can, however, keep kids busy for hours at a time.
SNAP allows for many variations in play. Children, especially, tend to make up there own games and rules which fosters creativity.
I know of one elementrary school that plans to put a SNAP game in every classroom including special ed classrooms. I could not offer a better endorsement.

Even more worth buying than a Princess Leia costume! You can bet there will be plenty of fun, creativity and hallenge in this new set, as I found in sets 1 and 2. It's cool to see just what Nintendo's current people can do with a great game like Mario 3. It is fun to see if I can come close to the pros' skill level displayed with the demo cards, and the new levels simply add more value than ever to this great classic game.
What classic Mario games' levels and ideas will Nintendo borrow this time around? What silly idea will this set's 'switch' power-up card come up with?! Or will there be some completely new suit or item Nintendo comes up with this time around? (hint hint to Nintendo's game developers -- INCLUDE A PRINCESS LEIA SUIT FOR MARIO) Will there be a new level that surpasses even that crazy new one with the flying beetles in difficulty?! Waiting to see just how creative Nintendo gets is, well, just under half of the fun of each card set -- the new levels are definitely over half the fun. Even more fun than fat guys like Mario and me in Leia costumes ... alright, no more disturbing visuals...
I'll squeeze out of my Leia costume long enough to say:You can bet there will be plenty of fun, creativity and challenge in this new set, as I found in sets 1 and 2. Almost as fun as fat guys like me and Mario in Leia costumes. Woops, no more disturbing imagery, I promise.

Long time Taboo owners who have fruitlessly searched for a "taboo expansion deck" should know that this is it! This 10th Anniversary Edition has ALL NEW words. If you know someone who is already a Taboo fan, this would make a great gift. That makes this an unusual item: wonderful for both people who don't own Taboo and those who do!
It is a great ice breaker, people get into the game and forget about what they're saying which is super funny. You get to know the people you play with pretty well. Everyone has a bunch of laughs and a great time.
I travel a lot, and I keep the cards in my bag with a BBQ timer [better than an hourglass--no waiting]. It is a blast.
It is true that, you get right into the game and rifle through the cards before you know it. So after playing the Canadian version, I bought the American version when I was on a bike trip in Arizona. The game is new again.
They recently came out with a celebrity Taboo, I haven't gotten my hands on it yet--but it's sure to be great as well.
One word of warning, the electronic Taboo isn't all that great. The words database is pretty small, and the unit is cumbersome compared to the cards. [some people find the readout hard to see as well]
So top points for Taboo, it's an all round good time.
This game is a lot of fun because you will suddenly find it challenging -- and funny! -- to express a very simple word, phrase, or person that everyone knows. Everyone will laugh as you take turns grasping for alternate and creative ways to say the words that are "taboo." This game should be a classic "party" game because it engages all players (you take turns guessing, reading cards, and making sure the opposing team doesn't say words they're not supposed to!) and even though people may not think it's their kind of thing beforehand, everyone always ends up having fun.
The bad news: the cards go by very quickly. The rules suggest you go around in a circle so that everyone gets to read cards once, and then the game is over. But the game is so much fun that it never ends there. In one sitting, you can end up going through a quarter of the words -- that means potentially, you could finish the entire game just by playing it four times! This is disappointing, especially if you play through the whole thing right after buying it. My suggestion is if you like the game that much, make up your own cards with your friends. I would still buy a copy of the original game though, to play through the original cards, and of course, for the endlessly entertaining buzzer. :)
