Tripoley Special Edition
Made by Cadaco
    Amazon base price: $
    List price: $24.99 (that's NaN% off!)
This special-edition game celebrates 65 years of Tripoley, a long-time favorite for parties or at-home fun. Tripoley combines the strategy and skill involved in hearts, poker, and Michigan rummy. One game of each constitutes a "round" of Tripoley. The group decides the number of rounds in each game before play begins. After all the rounds have been played, the player with the most chips is the winner. Designed for two to nine players. This special edition includes a rotating game tray, poker chips, and playing cards. --Alison Golder

    Great Game
Tripoley...where to start. You begin by dealing the cards evenly to all players, and there are variations which may include you dealing an extra hand. The first game you play is Hearts. If you have either the 10, Jack, Queen, King, or Ace of Hearts, or a mix, then you take all the chips out of those certain dishes; there is a special dish for players who hold both the King and Queen of Hearts, so you would receive the Queen dish, King dish, and the Both K and Q dish. Obviously this will build up in chip value over time with more players as it is harder to get both of these cards in the same hand. Also, during the game of Hearts, if you have an 8, 9, and a 10 all of the same suit in your hand then you receive the chips in that dish. This, as well, will build up over time.
Then you play Poker. You simply take five cards out of however many you have which make up your best Poker hand. If you aren't familiar with Poker, just look at the instructions for what are Poker hands and what are worth more. Start bidding with the dealer and all bets go in the "Pot". The winner, after betting stops, will get all the chips in the Pot.
The last game played is Michigan Rummy, where the dealer lays down his lowest card out of his entire hand. Then the person with the next highest card in the same suit puts down that card, until the Ace of that suit is played or the Stop Card, which is the last highest card played, is played. Whoever put the Stop Card down will then change suits by placing the lowest card in his hand from another suit down. This keeps going until the first person gets rid of all their cards and they claim all the chips in the "Kitty" section.
This game is very, very fun and they also list some variations to the game which make it even more interesting and fun. I gave the fun five stars because I have yet to have a boring game of Tripoley; the fun is endless. Five stars for educational purpose because you get to learn how to play three types of card games, and you learn to be strategic, whether it's betting or choosing the 'right' lowest card in Michigan Rummy (if you have two 3's, then stragety comes into play because you need to examine your hand carefully and see what suit will do better for you). This game is very durable; I've dropped several heavy things on this by accident and it is still in perfect condition.
Overall, this is a wonderful game for anyone.

    A Grandma's view
As a grandma, I love this game. It keeps my mind working & it is a game I can play with my grand children & have fun , no matter what their ages ! We spend lots of quality time together with Tripoly. .

For Card Lovers and Non-Card Lovers Alike
Tripoley goes way back in my family. We even had a hand-made Tripoley board, so surely the Tripoley Special Edition is a step up. Since it's three different games in one, it moves much faster than most card games. Even your non-card-playing teenager won't get bored. It's a good way to introduce lots of card game concepts, too, for younger players. And isn't it always fun to win poker chips!?

Ultimate Wargame Collection 2: World War 2
    Made by Broderbund
      Amazon base price: $
      List price: $29.99 (that's NaN% off!)
Buy one from zShops for: $28.95
Many collections of older games are unquestionably worth the price, but the quality of the offerings in the Ultimate Wargame WWII Collection Volume 2 is so spotty we'd pause before spending $20 on it. Sure you get a great game like Silent Hunter: Commander's Edition, but then you're also paying for the laughably bad Luftwaffe Commander. This package still represents a significant value over buying the games separately, so WWII buffs may want to just go ahead and take the good with the bad.

Luftwaffe Commander is the biggest stinker in the bunch, and we can't come up with a single reason it was even released in the first place. The graphics are bad, the flight models are abysmal, and that about sums things up. Worst of all, it was released after several vastly superior WWII flight simulations came out, and you'd be better off spending money on any of those games than this tragically flawed coaster.

Fighting Steel simulates the naval battles of the period and isn't nearly as bad. Here you become admiral of a virtual fleet of WWII battleships, destroyers, and other surface vessels, all rendered in full 3-D (although the game runs at a low resolution). Battling with the big guns is fun for a while, but we soon were longing for aircraft carriers, submarines, or anything else that could add some variety and complexity to the gameplay.

Panzer Commander puts you in charge of a squad of tanks. Gameplay is a little too simplistic, and the other members of your squad are complete idiots (they get stuck on walls and buildings all the time), but it's still a great deal of fun. The game models lots of different tanks, and their varying weapons systems require vastly different tactics for effective use. Half the fun is in watching your tanks bounce around from an outside view, as their suspensions are modeled in terrific detail.

Finally there is Silent Hunter, which is probably the best WWII submarine simulator of all time. The game is aging well, since its crisp graphics were good to begin with, and the tense gameplay never loses any of its charm. There are enough difficulty settings to satisfy both novices and die-hards, and the historical information included on the disc gave us a fascinating look at the troubles real-world submarine crews faced in the Pacific theater of WWII. Don't miss this one if submarine simulations interest you. --T. Byrl Baker

      Pros:

      • Silent Hunter is perhaps the best WWII submarine simulation ever released
      • Fighting Steel is fun--while it lasts
      • One of the few collections that gives players air, land, and sea simulations
      Cons:
      • Luftwaffe Commander is one of the worst flight simulators ever released
      • Panzer Commander has infuriating flaws that put an enormous dent in its fun factor
      Average review score:

      What editor reveiwed this????
Silent Hunter- The best sub sim around, except for SH2.

Luftwaffe Commander- A very playable WW2 flight sim, with a realistic time line. Alot of fun.

Panzer Commander- OK, but it gets boring. The graphics leave something to be desired.

Fighting Steel- Lack luster graphics, and slow.

Over all, this game pack is well worth the money, a must for those who like historical military sims.

      Unfair editorial review
The amazon.com editorial review of Luftwaffe Commander is VERY unfair. Although the rest of the games included in Ultimate WWII Game Colection 2 are accurately and fairly portrayed, the longer I've played Luftwaffe Commander, the better I have learned to appreciate the game. I have also extensively played WWII Fighters -which is visually a better game-, and LC is graphically poorer, but LC is more realistic and fun as far as flight models and variety of planes are concerned. True, most reviews have shattered LC, but most reviews were (are) written by guys who play it a couple of times at best. Believe me, the more you play it, the more you appreciate it. It's a pitty SSI discontinued it or ceased improving a would-have-been classic game. Sure as hell LC is far from being the worse combat simulator ever released. Ask any hard core sim pilot who has flown it.

      5 Star Entertainment
      This Game-pack Rules!

      There are 4-games

"Luftwaffe Commander" which is a simulator where you go back to the days where the Me-109 ruled the sky.

"Fighting Steel" where you go back to the days of the big guns.

"Panzer commander" where you can control 24 WW2 tanks from 4 countries (Germany, Russia, UK, USA) in 8 campaigns and single player missions.

AND MY FAVORITE "Silent Hunter, Commanders edition" It is a WW2 Pacific submarine Simulator with the 3 extra patrol disks, you get to dive the sub patrol around and sink those japanese supply ships and Waeships, a little old but still great.

      ... an excellent deal.

      Buy this.

        Ultra Pak Memory Card Rocks!
A MUST for any game player who wants to save a lot of pages on 1 Pak. I read it has over 1,000 pages available. For games (like sports games) that require 80 pages per save, this Pak is invaluable. A regular memory Pak has only 123 pages, which stinks for complicated games...

        A great memory card!
I like this memory card because it has 469 pages of memory. You do not have to buy more memory cards.

        Memory Paks
The merory Ultra pak is really good because if you have a lot of games and play a little a every day it is really good cause you can use one for every game you have. I use my for my favorite games like Vigalante 8 and Mario 64. It is really great for someone that has a lot of games and plays each a lot. If you have few games you don'y really need many memory paks, but could be use for when you by more games.

          The big myth
This game is a lot of fun, but should be taken with a grain of salt. Not all of the legends listed as true actually are. Looks like the creators were taken in by some of the very urban legends that they are quizzing us on. (...)

          HILARIOUS AND FUN!
This is one of the best new games out there. A friend told me about this game claiming it was such a riot. So I bought it and played with another group of friends and we all had a blast.
This game is fun, interesting and educational. A lot of stories that I believed true are in fact myth. The graphics are very creative and compliments the pop culture style. Very cool game.

          Great game!
I received a copy of Urban Myth as a birthday present - and I have to say it's one of the best games I've played in a long time! My whole family played it after dinner and it was a hoot. There's all kinds of urban legends in there that you think are true but really aren't. The only criticism I have is that the instructions didn't tell us to shuffle the cards; we had to figure that one out on our own. All in all, though, Urban Myth was well worth playing and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good board game.

            Perfect Party Game
It's simple, very few rules and a few adult beverages help the creative process. Visual Eyes has taken the place of Scattergories, Taboo and Pictionary at our get togethers. It is also a wonderful learning tool for children and helps stimulate imagination and creativity. Fun for all ages.

            Many levels of fun!
Our entire family was able to enjoy this game. The 5 year old was creating new and imaginative word combos while the 8 and 9 year old were tracking on all the common usages they could find.

This game is also a hit with grown ups!

Each person sees a different set of words. We were laughing for a long time.........a perfect party game.

            What a wonderful game!!!
This game is so much fun!! I love word play - games that actually exercise your mind - and this one excels at it! It's great for a range of ages.... from young children learning vocabulary as well as an older audience. (It's even fun at social get togethers - cocktails help bring out some really outrageous word combinations!) The dice are a good size and the graphics are easily read. I highly recommend this game. Friends and I used to get together and play Catch Phrase at parties - now we break out VisualEyes! It's also nice because it's so user friendly - so easy to understand - not a lot of rules to try to remember. It's just good fun!!

Lots of fun & full of surprises!
We got this toy as a gift & have just placed an order to send it as a gift as well.
It is as small as a yo-yo but has the artificial intelligence of a sofisticated robot.
This toy is surprisingly wise and witty; it seems to function as a mind reader.
It is great for rainy day recesses at school, parties and long car rides.
Highly recommended. The only negative is that it runs on batteries.

                16X! WOW!
This thing has 16X the memory of the regular Nintendo-made card, and it costs about 2/3 of the Nintendo-card price! Who can argue with that?

                  This Game Is Great!
Aero the Acrobat, the classic Sunsoft game for Super NES, comes to Game Boy Advance! Edgar Ektor (and evil ex-circus clown) has booby-trapped the circus with the help of a crazy flying squirrel named Zero and his fairground henchmen. Only Aero, a master of acrobatics, can diffuse the dangers of the circus and perform various death defying acts to amuse the unsuspecting audience. As the headlining act, Aero will walk tightropes, swing on trapezes, blast out of cannons and plunge off the high dive in order to find Ektor and put a stop to his evil plans.

Great graphics and action-puzzle elements garnered Aero the Acrobat great reviews when it was first released in 1993. Now you can re-live the classic on Game Boy Advance.

Aero the Acrobat is slated to wing his way to GBA...

                      Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley
Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley is one of the best games for your child to play. Adults will love it too. Pick the alley of your choice from a traditional alley to Wacky Alley, where anything can happen. My son loves Wackey Alley, where pins turn to rubber, explode or just crumble when you hit them just right. You can choose your favorite Animaniacs character, Brain, Wakko, Mindy, Dot and many more. You can play with up to six players, so the entire family can have fun. This is one game that will never be outdated and you won't be bored. This is a great starter game for kids. It will teach them how to use the controller, timing and coordination. You can even select bumpers for the beginners so there are fewer gutter balls.
