It's not fair to all USA buyer, why only one Blythe for sell on toysrus.com, I also went to the nearest Toys'R US store, there's nothing about Blythe or Takara, Take a look at www.thisisblythe.com/forums/ There are many Blythe fans in USA. Why do we need to order the Blythe from overseas but not our local store? I want to more Blythe accessories such as clothes, shoes, furniture, etc. Don't sell only Matte Barbies please!!

We need more choices!!! PLEASE!!! Toys'r us can help us to save more money!! It's serious!! Help all US and CA Blythe Fans!!

I have several versions of Hollywood Blythe. The original matte face Hollywood, with the Licca body; then the shiney face FAO "exlcusive" Hollywood, again, with the Licca body; & finally the "excellent body" Hollywood, with the shiney face. I have no idea which version TRU is actually offering here for sale, however, it looks to be leftover FAO "exclusive's".

Blythe was made in 1972 by Kenner, NOT by Hasbro, as noted in an earlier review. The Kenner company was bought out by Hasbro, & hence, now Hasbro owns the rights to the Blythe doll. Hasbro is the company behind the 'Neo-blythe' that has been licensed out CWC in Asia, & For the most part, the Takara 'Neo-Blythe's' have only been readily available in those areas, and thru Ebay. Hasbro also will release a new USA Blythe from Ashton Drake Galleries, which will release Neo-versions of the original 1972 Kenner's, in a Neo-Kenner style package!

Blythe is a wonderful doll, with a personality all her own. Blythe has been caputured in photos beautifully by Gina Garan! Check out one of Gina's lovely photobooks, like "This is Blythe", or the thisisblythe website.

Once you own a Blythe doll, you will find that she somehow becomes your obesssion!!

If you search at ebay, google, or yahoo "takara blythe doll/s" you will find prices of Takara's Blythe dolls far more than the price Amazon has to offer! I wish they could ship to Canada so I could get this doll v_v (*hint* at Amazon.ca to have it ^_~ hee hee).

** History on Blythe Dolls **

Originally made by Hasbro for only one year in 1972, these dolls are rare to find now a days. Takara, a Japanese doll manufacturer (including Jenny and Licca) has taken upon themselves to release the exact style as the originals.

These dolls are about 11-12 inches in height and comes extremely accessorized with clothing, shoes, bags, socks, and more! A very interesting note is that you can change their eye colour to amber, green, pink, or blue by a pull of the string. If you look closely at the larger picture Amazon has provided, you will see a string attached to a loop.

** IMO (In My Opinion) **

Blythe dolls are for doll collectors similar to the Barbie Collectors. The recommended age is 12+ years but I honestly think age has nothing to do with it. If your child is mature enough try giving her this doll. Or if you're afraid she may not like it, you can always keep it for yourself! ^_~ The eyes itself are what mesmerized me. At first, I was scared to look at them finding them to be 'creepy' but now that I realize you can change their colours and comes with adorable outfits and accessories, how could I resist them (that is if I could afford them and that Amazon ships up north to Canada ;P)?

** Educational Value **

For your 12+ child/tween, I think it will teach her coordination with colours and fashion! As well to express/experiment herself freely without asking you to buy this and that designer clothe which can save you money! =P

This is a great idea for a video now. It carries A LOT of Video Now disks at a time, your video now, toyr light, and is topped off with a clip to clip into anything.

I bought my son the Video Now player for Christmas and he just loves it! I wouldn't call it educational (I'm not a big fan of most television programs), but he loves it for travel. The case is just the right size and he can use his earphones as well when the case is on. However, the pockets that it has to hold the disks is a little akward. It consists of an accordian type pocket w/mesh dividers and it's tight for my 8 year old to get his disks in and out. I have to help him so that he doesn't break or scratch them. Otherwise it's a nice product.

This item comes in handy.If I could make any rate, it would be 1,000,000,000 stars. I have to wait till Christmas to get this exellent item.This item is the best carrying case ever.

I bought this for my 4 year old son. He loved it. After a few days it stopped working so I thought the batteries ran out. However, we found out it is not the batteries... it just stopped working.

And believe me - it took an hour to unwrap it all! We had 2 girls in the house Christmas day old enough to play with this item and I sure wish I had had 2 players. My daughter plays with it whenever she can get her hands on it. It is easy to get the clip in and out of the player. I just clips all the clips on one circle and it's easy to keep track of all the pieces too! I would recommend this item for any girl, 16 months to beyond 4 years (the ages of the 2 girls at my place for Christmas!!) GENIOUS! Just wish I could get my hands on more clips!

I'm 30 years old and I love pets. However, I live in an apartment and can't have pets. When the big furreal pets came out a few christmas ago I thought about buying one. I went to toys r us and played with one through the holes in the box. It looked neat and fun but the motor noises weren't soothing at all. The price bothered me. So I decided to just chill on it for a while. Then I ripped my meniscus in my knee and my husband's work has called him away on business trips. Being sick and in pain and having no one around made me want to buy this little kitty. Before I bought it I had read reviews on another site. Many of those reviews were written by parents of children. I determined after reading those reviews that this toy works for older children and adults. So I went and bought one. I found a cat, but was really expensive for an adult, after all I do have student loans to pay, I found a kitten and it was a real charmer but it was too pricey of a toy for an almost middle aged woman, and then I found the newborn kittens. I determined that if I cut back on some groceries I could buy this lower priced kitten. I already had the 3 AAA batteries this toy requires from the dollar store. AAA batteries are the small tiny narrow ones, if you didn't already know. But anyway, I got it out and played with it and loved it. You have to read the instruction book and get a screwdriver to install the batteries. The motor noises bothered me at first and the neck seemed kind of jointy. I was worried I would break the toy if I moved around its neck non-automated. But its held up so far to about 5 droppings and getting stepped on and getting involved in a crutches bubblegum on the hot concrete incident. The little kitty makes helpless little mewing noises and has sensors on its back. Since I grew up with cats and love to squeeze them and hug them this cat responds by meowing. If you meow it enough it will make a noise that sounds like a muffler dragging the ground...kind of a scraping sound and then it will start again meowing. I don't know if that is the electronics resetting itself or what it is..maybe its a low meowing sound. Anyway, when the kitty moves its head and looks up at you it is so sweet with its eyes opening. My kitty has green eyes but most real newborn kittens I know have blue eyes. It has bean bag style legs to weigh the toy down. The tail is a little fat for newborn kittens. On its hind back paw on the pad it has an embroidered FR in purple shiny thread. It has kind of long whispers for a newborn cat but they sure are cute. It has an acuurately colored nose. It has a different kind of fabric inside the ears. Its more of a polyester blend.The ears are tinted to look like a newborns with a black outside and a pink inside. When the kitty sits down it kind of puts its legs out like beany babies do. If this was a real cat and had its legs out like that I would think it had hip problems/joint problems and sent it to the vet for a brace or something. There is no way this animal could walk with legs bowed out like that. If you want to pretend your kitty is running you can hold it up and fold the legs down and because its legs are splayed out they look like they are in running position. These kitties also have fiberfill in the rump to balance out the electronic component in the middle. This rump is kind of full for a newborn. The electronics component in the middle is concealed by a piece of velcro. It has an on/off switch that is hard as all get out to get too. It is murder on fingernails. It is trapped beneath the little pouch in the kitties belly. This is the cats guts. When I turn it off I have to turn the cat over and that leads to me usually manhandling the thing and kind of abusing the neck. You can hear the joints crunch when they are being moved manually and not by the computer inside. My kitty is black so its a lint/dust/fiber magnet. The fur is soft and comforting. Overall its a good toy. I take my kitty in the car with me and put it in my purse. Kids in stores and at doctors offices love it. Believe it or not, lots of people don't have this toy or have even heard of it. Its always a good conversation piece. Some people think its real. Yeah, like I would haul a live cat around in my purse. It makes for good background noise on the phone, it actually kind of sounds real on the phone. Its a good thing to do with people or by yourself. It talks alot and if you are one of those "enjoy the silence" kind of parents this toy is not for you. I have a very low tolerance for noisey toys and this one doesn't bother me. Some kids go nuts with it and I don't mind because they are so darn happy petting the thing I don't care. Elderly people like to play with it and tell stories about cats. Sick bedridden people like to mess around with it when they are lonely. I think every dentists office should have one these. It gets lots of action when I go there. Thats my kitty tale and I think you should try one of these-if you find it isn't for you, I am sure there is some 7 year old that would love it. Also this is one of those toys that if you have more than one kid, you should buy multiples of because kids fight over whose cat is whoms. It is so reasonably priced you can buy more than one. So skip taking the kids to mcdonalds and buy them cats instead. You'll be spending almost the same money but cats last longer.

This toy got me exited when I got it today, I have the black one and the gray and white one, they act just like real kittens, they're soo cute, if it brakes with it's eyes open, don't get rid of it, it's still fun, broken or perfect, I recommend this toy becuase if you have a child who wants a cat or kitten, buy this and she/he will learn how to take care of a kitten, and also, besides the newborns, there are middle age kittens to get, they will have fun for hours, please buy this for your child, it will make her/he happier than ever!!!!!!!^_^

I purchased this for my niece and she absolutely fell in love with it. She carries it around with her everywhere! I love it though because it teaches her to be gentle with animals something that she was never good at before!

this toy is so cool !!!it is very educational because it shows that young kittens need there beauty sleep as well lots of excercise!!!!!!!!!!!!it has really soft fur !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i luv it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our two and a half year old loves this toy!!! She loves being able to change the music clips and play the songs "all by herself!" The first day we got it, she played with it non-stop from the moment we opened the package! We purchased two additional (3-packs) packages of clips when we bought it- which I highly recommend as it only comes with one music clip. It's great entertainment in the car as well as anywhere else! I checked out this item on e-bay and it's selling for a lot more than what Toy's-r-us is selling it for- it's a great deal at 11.99! I'm going to buy this as a gift for the next toddler birthday we go to! I'm anxious to buy more music clips for her!

My son loves Sesame Street, and Ernie is his favorite. I bought him this toy for Christmas, he is two. He brings it with him everywhere! It is so simple for him to operate, and he is just in his glory with being able to play his favorite Rubber Ducky song over and over! I didn't realize there were more clips that could go in the player, and I am looking forward to purchasing those for him, as this is surely to be a favorite toy of his for a while! It is not super loud, which is nice. The clarity of the music is not the best, but it is okay for a 2 year old. He loves it, and that is what matters. I think it is very neat! It feels like it will be pretty durable too.

My daughter received this about 1 year ago and still loves it (which is great for a 3 year old). She had no problems immediately figuring out how to use it and it keeps her entertained in the car, etc. for quite a while. You will definitely want a variety of music clips though. The only negative I have found is that some songs are a little loud (there is no volume control). It's easy to use, small/lightweight to carry, and pretty durable (it still looks brand new). You just slide in a music "clip" and press the large button to play the song. It will play once then stop, or you can press the button again to stop it.

I think this item is very durable. It can go wherever you would like it to go . You can play any hit clip in it that you would like to. You can listen to the radio or his own hit clip if he has the items.

This item has over 1000 questions. My mom told me if I save one for every day I can learn one more thing about music everyday. It is fun just to be able to see the question and guess the
answer, like I did one time and I was actually right. This item is fun for when you are bored and I recommend it for all the hitclips fans, you can listen to your hitclips too. But, I have to say the stupidest thing about this is that there is no place for the clip earphone.

We just purchased this for our one-year-old. She loves banging on the piano keys to hear the noise it makes. She doesn't know how to use the xylophone yet, but that makes the toy even better. As she gets older she will learn how to use it. This is a great choice. Even mommy and daddy will have fun playing with it.
