Game for all seasonsWe played for three hours, without a break, and laughed and argued and discussed and generally had a great time, which is what games are all about.
In these times of uncertainty, with the constant stream of horrible news on television, cyberspace and radio, this game was an island of innocence and fun. It's hip and well worth the money.
I'd rather be playing Pop Smarts than writing this! Here's what I love about this game: no down-time. Everybody plays at once, so there's no waiting around. Gameplay is fast and a lot of fun. It's as good as Outburst and -much- better than Cranium.
This one we'll play again and again. Great game!

Following the easy directions I was up and playing in minutes of opening the box. One thing to keep in mind is that there are small wooden tile, so you need to keep that small children away from the game.
Within 5 categories you have to finish the lines to collect tiles and fill up your space, first one to do this is the winner. You have lines from music, TV, speeches, proverbs and even books. There are 500 cards and the game plays fairly quickly, one thing is that the limited amount of cards will have you repeating some cards in a short amount of time.
I found that I was able to complete the game in about 30 to 45 minutes and you can have up to 6 players and the more the merrier. While the game is made for teenager to adult, some of the phrases will give the younger crowd a little trouble, but that's the fun of the game. Also I found that team play or men vs. women adds a whole new twist to the game.
Overall this was great party or family game and is made for just about any occasion. I certainly hope that there is additional card sets as I can see this game doing very well.
Fun but not enough "famous lines"
Definitely a mind-bending game; Awesome.I have played this game with family and friends and it is very addicting, in a good way.
We had hours and hours of fun and you never get tired of this game.
As compared to other "mind" games, this one beats them all!
I do hope the manufacturer continues to make more question cards, so we can continue playing this game for many more years.
Great job!! With the holidays coming up, Finish Lines would make a great gift.

R & R has another winner!Following the easy directions, you deal out 40 cards between the players, make sure every player has the same number a cards, pick either the yellow or blue names and begin the fun. While the games ages are 12 and up, some of the names may be a little advanced for the younger players.
Round one you can use any word(s) to describe the name but you can't pass. Round 2 1 words clues gives you 1 guess per clue and passing is allowed. Round 3 is the best of all, with pantomimes and noises, again 1 guess per name and passing is allowed.
You get 30 seconds per team per round; you can change this to more time to add even more fun. Also the number of cards dealt out can increase for even more points. The game is broken down into 8 categories from Artist to Writer and you have easy to hard names. RNR Games has done it again!

Restless in Seattle
The polls are in and we have a wiinner in this game.
The setup to this game is a snap, literally. You snap together the YES and NO chips hand one to each player and get ready to begin. While the game can be played with as little as four players I found the more the merrier and you can have up to eight. I also found that teams work s great making this a great party game.
You simply bid on the number of people you think will answer the question yes or no and make it to the center first and you win. Questions are both easy and tough and you'll find some very revealing information about yourself and your friends.
The game includes over 600 questions and if you don't like any of them then merely make up your own, as long as they are a yes/no question. Again an excellent party game and it also makes a great gift idea for any occasion with a price to fit every budget. Overall this is the newest party game at our house - excellent job!

Fun Party Game! There's a really loud beeping noise that accompanies the game - and it grows more intense minute by minute, until the device buzzes, and the person left holding the unit is the one who gets the 'raspberry' sound. (There's no volume control by the way, but if you're playing this with a lot of people, and there's tons of noise, you'll have a hard time even hearing the beeping)
Great party game, and good fun!
A Nerve-Wracking, Yet Highly Contagious GameThe premise of the game is simple: After setting the timer, your team has to guess what word or phrase is visible on the screen. The unit cannot be passed until someone says exactly what is on the screen. When someone does guess correctly, you pass it on to a member of the other team.
For example, if the word was "pumpkin," you could say something along the lines of, "Okay, guys, Peter-Peter-blank-eater!" If someone has been keeping up on their nursery rhymes, he or she will know that the word in place of "blank" is "pumpkin." Make sense?
This game is a blast when you get a huge amount of people to play. About a month ago, around 20 of us were playing it at the same time. Good times there, folks!
Fun: Fun, fun, FUN. I can't reiterate it enough. It's interesting to see how nervous people get when the timer starts beeping faster; hence, the buzzer is about to go off. For some reason, people get really panicky when the pressure starts to build. It's only a game, people! Of course, you don't realize that at the time. Everyone is yelling out answers, and with all the excitement going on, your heartbeat can rise in a hurry.
Educational Value: This is a thinking game. That's the only way I know how to put it. You have to think about what it is your teammate is trying to say without he or she actually coming out and saying it. And they're not all as easy as "pumpkin." There are some real stumpers in this game, and that only adds to the fun (or frustration depending upon what side you're on).
Durability: This game is very durable. Just don't drop it! It probably wouldn't hold up very well since this is the electronic version.
In short, "Catch Phrase" is a very cool game. It's great to play with a lot of people, and it never gets boring. I've played this numerous times, and I always have interesting stories to tell the next day.

Great game, depending who you play withThe reason I gave the game 4 stars, however, is that I had an awful experience the first time I played the game. Here's the scoop...the group I played with included my father-in-law (a country music singer) and young brother-in-law (a rap fan). They repeatedly claimed and sang songs and tunes I had never heard of. I'm not saying that any cheating went on, but I was so far out of the loop about the songs they were choosing that there was no way to tell who was winning and who was losing. Well, OK, I was losing.
This can be a fun game if played with your musical peers. It can be a major disaster otherwise.
I hope this insight helps someone out there.
