    Replenish stock on magnetic playsets - create a scene
    I purchased @ least 5 different titles of the magnetic playsets - create a scene playsets. Each one has given my children hours of imaginative and creative enjoyment. Without a doubt many of them are thematic in nature with pleasant graphic content. [...]

    Busy hands, happy hands
    This playboard is a great play-value-for-money purchase. I bought this for our son when he was 18 months old, to use on a long plane journey and subsequent vacation. He loved it, and it continues to be one of his favorite playthings. It fits well on an airplane tray and comes in handy in restaurants to keep a busy little hands happily occupied. My son also uses it as a playmat and mixes his diecast vehicles in with the magnetic ones. The magnets aren't overly strong, so do be forewarned that with a young toddler, pieces occaisionally slip off the board...this is only a concern in an airplane/restaurant, where you might leave one piece behind.

    A Favorite Toy
    I gave this toy to my son when he was just over 2- years-old and he hasn't stopped playing with it since. It's compact and portable, great for car trips, and one thing I really love is that all the pieces stay together because they are magnetic. It has the same appeal as stickers, but with more versatility because the trucks and equipment can be easily moved and manipulated on the background board. I would say this toy has given us the best play value for the money. The only problem we've encountered is the excavator has a long slender arm that I keep having to reinforce with tape to keep it together. Other than that, the pieces are stong, durable and colorful. I think this is a great toy and allows kids to use their imagination.

      A great addition to your Thomas collection.
      I umm and aahh about spending this sort of money on a train table and playboard for my children but after doing my homework I decided this is the one I would buy.

      Other train tables I have seen in stores are often wonky and seem quite unstable - and this is after they've been played on in the stores. So after seeing poorer quality tables for similar prices I decided to save up for the Thomas branded one and this single sided playboard.

      Yes, it's expensive, but as with any "brand", it's the name you are paying for. If you want a Thomas collection of trains and accessories you are going to have to pay. I'm just starting our collection and am buying the "Thomas" trains and buildings, but found a compatible generic track for less than half the price. I was lucky enough to get this playboard at almost half price at a after Christmas sale. It's worth waiting for sales and price comparing.

      It's beautifully painted and when used with the table frame is extremely strong (although I wouldn't recommend standing on it).

      It's up to you to spend to decide if you want to spend this sort of money but I see this as something I won't ever have to replace and it's something my son can keep for his children. Toys like this will last!

      We just received this playboard a couple of days ago. My son loves it! He is almost 2 and really enjoys playing with all of his Thomas trains. This playboard makes playing more interesting. It arrived in fine condition...we didn't have the problem the other reviewer had. My son has a train table (not the Thomas one) and it fits perfectly. The playboard is a great addition to our Thomas the Tank Engine collection.

      We have a collection of Thomas and Brio trains and track, and use this playboard on a table that we built. While it is impossible to actually construct track that stays on "dry land" (some of the playboard scenery is rivers etc) this background scenery does add to our enjoyment of the playing with trains. The whole family (ages 1 to 30-something) enjoys constructing new layouts.

      This board can easily be damaged in transit. Our second attempt was successful. I advise you to order this well before you need it.

        Great take along toy.
        These magnets have helped my 2 1/2 year old survive many coffee refills at restaurants with the grandparents. It opens to about the same size as his place at the table and is very thin to carry around (I don't feel like we've moved in with a whole toy box). It has also survived a minor water spill.

        Best car toy for the budding "Paweeuntowogist"
        Both my sons have had hours of fun in cars and strollers with this set. In 4 years we lost only one piece. Great for imaginative play for the dino fanatic.

          Cute!
          I bought this playset for my four year-old daughter last Christmas and she loved it. It is made of heavy plastic, the kind used to make refrigerator magnets. As a matter of fact, it can even be played with on the refrigerator. This set comes with a hard cardboard backdrop with a cute outdoor setting of Paris by the Eiffel tower that one can put Madeline in. Flip it over, and she is indoors in her bedroom where your angel can choose to dress her in pajamas and bunny slippers. Madeline comes wearing undershirt and panties but you can see a hint of a scar on her belly from her appendectomy.

          Other fashions include her school uniform, French outfit, dressy dress, pajamas and other accesories. It's the paper dolls concept using refrigerator magnets instead, making a more durable toy.

            What a life saver this toy was!!
            I bought this for my just turned three year old girl. The two of us took a 10 hour car drive with this as a brand new car toy. She spent 8 of 10 hours playing with it on the drive down. She played with it some everyday during a confernece I was attending with her in tow. She spent 6 of 10 hours playing with it on the way home a week later. She would have played with it longer had the daylight lasted longer. It saved our sanity!!

            My only complaint is the magnetic pieces were easy to tear when punching them out of their original magnetic sheet. Take care and this shouldn't be a problem.

              Many Hours of Play for $...
              My children (1 1/2 and 3 1/2) both love playing with Create-a-Scene sets. We have 3 of them (farm, zoo and ocean) and they have enjoyed them for hours. They are great for travel and taking on visits to Grandma. We had other, less sturdy versions of these toys (like Colorforms) and ended up throwing them out. Eventually (after much use), even these sets come apart at the seam, and the pieces no longer adhere well to the boards, but $... for a year's worth of play is a good value.

                Durable, Fun, Creative Toy!
                My four-year old niece loves this toy! It consists of a castle background (that contains a handsome prince!), two magnetic dolls, and various charming outfits. I had to punch out the outfits from the backing for her, but after that she was off and running. Each outfit (hats, boots, dresses) is that of a type of princess, from a fairy princess to an American Indian princess to a snow princess. Several outfits look like they belong to characters young girls are familiar with: Snow White, Jasmine from Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland. These are wonderful for young girls because they are colorful, durable, and stimulate creative activities like story telling. They are heavy weight, and so resist tearing and can be washed.

                Best of all, all the pieces are magnetic so they stay together without getting lost and can be applied either to the supplied background or to any metallic surface. They immediately found a home on the refrigerator. My niece plays with them on the refrigerator door while Grandma cooks dinner in the kitchen.

                  Another great felt board
                  This range of Felt boards are fantastic. Once you have one, you can mix and match all your felt sets or even use your felt pieces on a felt easel if you have one.

                  The Felt boards are good quality and stiff - perfect for using on the floor, lap or even in the car.

                  The Felt pieces are made of good quality felt - depending on the piece some have been printed on and others left plain and they can be overlapped and moved about as much as your imagination allows. It's a wonderful tool to get your child to tell you a story about the picture they made.

                  What I like about them is each set comes with a special carry bag made of plastic. The felt pieces can be stored in side - zipped locked with a easy to use slide lock and then clipped onto the handle of the felt board. This is perfect to carry around the house or even to Grandma's or to keep your little one busy in the car or while waiting for food at a restaurant.

                  Highly recommended.

                    A good gift to give as a present
                    my girls got this toy from a friend and they love it. They like playing "house" with all the magnetic parts. There are a lot of parts with this toy that can get lost. Some magnets are small, but over all I like this toy a lot. In fact I think I'll buy some to keep and give them as gifts for birthdays, etc
