Cute but have lots of batteries
This is a cute costume. I bought it to use to celebrate Halloween with my second grade class. It requires many batteries because they die rather quickly. Costume can be worn not inflated--it isn't as cute but it still looks like a pumpkin.

    Official Firefighter Play Equipment
    Made by Manley
    Age Group: 4 - 7 years
      Amazon base price: $9.97
      List price: $14.99 (that's 33% off!)
The box itself is ablaze with bright flashes: "Super Value Bonus Pack," "Real Working Walkie Talkies" and the combo of components in this set of Official Firefighter Play Equipment is hot! hot! hot! Youngsters aged 5 and older will be able to don the sturdy black plastic helmet and tool belt to suit up with a wide array of lightweight plastic accessories ranging from a chrome-look badge, a working whistle, crowbar and fire-axe, mini-binoculars with plastic lenses, and firefighter ID card, to a trio of battery-powered electronic goodies, including a digital wristwatch (one LR41/AG3 cell battery included) and a pair of walkie-talkies, each powered by one 9-volt battery (not included). The radios, effective up to about 200 feet apart, allow for "push to talk, release to listen" conversation and feature a Morse code chart on each receiver. As we said earlier, this Official Firefighter Play Equipment is dot-dot-dot- dot, dash-dash-dash, dash! --Tony Mason

Mother of disappointed 2 year old fire fighter
One of the Walkie-Talkies didn't work, straight from the box. The plastic belt was well liked as the axe could be carried on the belt however the binoculars and the crowbar couldn't be added which my son found frustrating. I ended up cutting off 6 inches from the end of the belt as its a bit long. The hat is great, the yellow stickers came off the second day but it looks better without them. The other incidentals were of no interest to him. I would recommend buying the smaller set Manley has without the Walkie Talkies.

Your little Princess will love it!
My daugher received this toy for her 4th birthday. She chose a Disney Princess theme this year and actually spotted this toy on-lineherself. It was the only toy she asked for. The toy is 'interactive' because it senses which item of make-up she's using (lip stick, nail polish, etc.). As my daughter applies the make-up, or brushes her hair in the mirror, one of the Princesses tells her how lovely she looks. It's a very cute toy, but I don't know how much she'll actually play with it once the newness wears off.

        Little Handiworker Workhorse
        Made by Little Tikes
        Age Group: 24 months - 5 years

Busy little hands will discover plenty of projects to complete with this sturdy, pintsize workhorse. Less than 2 feet tall, it stands easily on the floor or on a table. The tan pounding bench has five holes into which young carpenters can pound two chunky plastic nails or secure two colorful screws hidden under the bench's flip top. Easy-grip plastic screwdriver, hammer, and wrench also store under the pounding bench, or you can hang them on pegs. Three interlocking gears give youngsters a glimpse at the mechanics of cause-and-effect actions. Although the workhorse does not collapse for compact storing, a built-in handle does allow for easy toting. --Liane Thomas

          Tipsy Tool Bench
After a few months, I put our workhorse out with the garbage collection. The item was entirely too tipsy. Not flimsy - it is well made, but if your child leans on it, over it goes. So out it went. Don't recommend this item - get something with a square top so that it is secure - the A frame on this toy is a very bad design.

          not worth it
This toy should be a lot sturdier than it is. It frustrates me and my toddler because it constantly falls down. It isn't a very interesting toy because there are many toys on the market that intrigue toddlers much more. I do not recommend this toy!

          Avoid this toy!
This workshop appeared to be a great toy but it will not stay open. Whoever created this toy did a very bad job. It needs something to keep it open otherwise a soon as your child plays with it, it'll fall over. Look for something else!

          Thomas Big Big Loader
          Made by Tomy
          Age Group: 36 months - 8 years
            Amazon base price: $29.99
A single motorized engine sets this busy Thomas the Tank Engine construction site in motion. Switch it on and watch as Thomas picks up a load of plastic rocks, rides up the elevator, and drops the rocks down a spiraling chute. Cranky the Crane then lifts the rocks and sends them down another chute. From here Lorry the Loader scoops them into a holding bin, and the whole sequence begins over again. As long as the vehicles are positioned correctly on the track, the sequence runs remarkably smoothly, and it is truly fascinating to watch. This is not a hands-on toy, however. Once children switch on the engine, there is little else for them to do. The sequence cannot be altered, for instance, nor can the track be rearranged in any other configuration. Adult assembly is required, and the manufacturer includes a cautioning statement about the risk of hair entanglement in the motorized engine. --Elisabeth Fredrickson

            Ugh!!!
We bought this for our 3 year old. After spending close to an hour setting up, he couldn't even play with it! It does everything by itself. So, Cranky was taken off to play with.. very disappointed! But Dad enjoys watching the monotony of the train set (around, and around)

            A frustrating disappointment
I assembled two Big Big loaders. Neither of them would complete one cycle of operation. The parts would not align properly, causing jams and not permiting the engine to reverse when it was supposed to at the top of the spiral tower. The crane would not pick up the
tray of little balls. The manufacturer did not return two e-mails.

This toy would only frustrate a small child, not to mention frustrating the adult who must assemble it.

Both Big Big loaders have been returned.

Big Big Loader is a Big Big Pain
This "toy" is not a toy. It's completely automated and not interactive for my 3 yr old and my 8 yr old boys. They were bored after 2 minutes. The loader kept getting jammed on the ramp....and yes, even after..re-assembling it correctly..again, after changing the little aggrevating tires, making sure it was on a flat surface, etc., etc. My 3 year old tried to play with it, only to have the crane fall over again and again. He had more fun taking the engine and letting it ride on the kitchen floor. Don't waste your money on this, folks, unless you like collecting Thomas stuff and having it set around to just look at.

i think this is just fine
a lot of people have been saying in their reviews, that it breks easily, it is a piece of junk and all those type of things about this toy. my neighbor has this and when i used to like polly pockets (when i was younger) we used to play with it for a long time!!! there were nooo problems with it at all

At least one positive review for this toy is needed...
After having read the reviews posted here, I decided not to buy this toy, but when we were out shopping and found it for half price, I decided to take a closer look. I do not remember exact quotes here, but I do remember seeing a comment that the escalator does not work and will not fit on the mall. This is either untrue, or has been fixed. It is made out of plastic with one 'step' attached to a rubber conveyor. Granted, it will not move Polly up to the top without a little help, but my 4-year-old loves it. The only cardboard toys I found inside the box were two shopping bags, credit cards and some floor coverings. Everything else is either sturdy plastic, or normal Polly Pocket rubber.
The 'modelling clay' could use some help, or just don't put it in there. You can make your own hair styles and other things with the clay and glitter, but the hair, once dried throroughly, will not go on Polly's head. Perhaps this was not the point, but if you leave it moist, it just smashes all over the place.
I did not buy this toy from Amazon (sorry, Amazon!) because it was an impulse buy at a local store. However, I think that maybe the makers of Polly have heard your complaints and have corrected the problems. I suggest taking another look at this one.

                This toy is junk.
In theory, this is a great toy. It is very realistic, and you are supposed to be able to put the astronauts in the command module and the LEM for great imaginative play.

In reality, this toy falls apart the minute you remove it from the packaging. You can't put the astronauts anywhere because they splinter and you can't pull the components apart as shown because pieces break off at the lightest touch.

It is NOT worth the price and NOT worth the disappointment on a child's face.

                Museum piece!
Purchased this item, and as the other reviewers have mentioned, it fell apart in our hands. NOT for Kids!!!!!!!!!! I am attempting to find another like item, but I have my doubts!

                Durability is -1 star.

If anyone finds a talking apollo unit that will stand up to 30 seconds of play, PLEASE let me know.

A flimsy toy that frustrates children and adults alike
My five year old son received this as a gift for Christmas, and by that evening, little pieces were falling off with no prodding. A footing from the lunar module fell off the next morning, and when I tried looking it over to see if it could be fixed, two more came off in my hands! My son is so frustrated, as he knows he is being careful as he attempts to play with it while more pieces simply break off. The metallic look of the set is very misleading - think aluminum foil as opposed to a heavier metal. My son has received similar sets, and they have fared well even after months of use. I am ready to toss this out (and would if I could take it away without him being upset as he really likes the astronaut voice recording). I would never recommend this set, as it has frustrated my five year old and my husband and I alike. My husband thought it could only have cost $5.00 or so, and nearly fell off his chair when I told him it was almost $40.00!! Too bad, as the educational value of an imaginary play toy like this is why people do pay so much for such a small toy. Hopefully the maker will get smart and start producing a better quality set to match the example they are trying to promote for our children.

Doesn't add much to the play experience
My 2-1/2 year-old son received this for Christmas along with three of the plane characters and one of the hangars. The play mat is very cute, but it basically just acts as a storage area in our living room for the toys. He never uses it to actually play with the planes in terms of running them down the roadways, etc. It is durable enough, but I would say it's a waste of money.

                  Not such a great idea
I was so excited to see this mat I thought that it would be great to use with the wooden airplanes and buildings. I cannot understand why this mat was not made to accomodate the buildings/planes that are made for the wooden set (,planes, hangers, firehouse etc.) The mat should be a runway without airplanes and buildings pictured so that it could actually be played with. If anything they should have drawn dotted lines for where to place buildings that you have. What are you supposed to do with the wooden buildings that you have they do not fit on the mat. The planes can actually go inside the wooden hangers(more fun than a flat mat). Though the hangers are too small to accomodate all the planes(example the kids hanger....only two fit not three) It does make a nice, expensive rug or door mat for decoration though.

                  Disappointed
I felt "jipped" to receive what is basically a printed doormat for the $... I paid.

cute idea but not easy to use
first of all to get all the pieces to the pool requires a small bag, then the toy does not stay connected in the pool as soon as the smallest wave comes near it. the toy does make sounds but my daughter still at two does not seem to be to impressed.

                    Mediocre at best
My kids (3.5 and 2) received this as a gift, and at first I was excited--it's cute and colorful. In theory, a great toy. However, my kids don't like it. Water gets inside the dolphins and when this happens, they won't make noises (easily remedied by shaking the water out of them, but my kids don't have the patience for this). They also get very frustrated that the rings that the dolphins sit in do NOT stay linked together. Slight movements that disturb the water will cause the chain to come apart. I'm sure that this would be a favorite bath toy with a few improvements made by the company.

It's gotten a bad rap from some!
We got this toy for our son when he was 11 months old. He has a great time with it and he was able to make the dolphins "sing" after about a week of playing with it. You don't have to hit them hard to make sound. They whistle for him with a tap. We do have to shake the water out from time to time or they do stop working but that is an easy fix. Our son has now learned to blow in the bottom end and make them whistle. He plays with them in many different ways. They do take up quite a bit of space in the tub but we don't mind. He's having fun.

                      Naturally Playful is better
I bought this one for my house and my parents have the naturally playful one at theirs. My daughter 2 3/4 old can hardly get on this one and then it does not rock. The Naturally playful one is one she can ride and rock on by herself. I am going to get it too. I will keep this one as it is cool looking and they can sit on it and pretend to be riding an animal. I also dont know how it will do with 2 kids but this is definately not a one person teeter-totter!

                      DISSAPOINTED
Well, I expected it to be a little better put together for a Little Tykes toy. I got it for my 2 boys one is 1 the other is 3. Neither one of them found it to be very fun. In fact, neither have even played with it yet. It's kid powered and kinda flimsy. Not worth the money.

                      Disappointed
This was very disappointing because I have higher expectations of Little Tikes. I have a 4 year old and a set of 2 1/2 year old twins. It is very difficult for the children to use and when the 4 year old wants to ride alone, almost impossible. I think maybe they have played with this about 3 times. Don't waste your money!
