too hard for little onesWe bought this for xmas, but its too hard for our boys (3 years old) to get. They play with it, but they cant ever get the car exactly in the slot for shooting. (the pull back trigger doesnt work very well, poor design). You have to have the cars exactly in the right position, or they wont shoot out. Adults even have trouble w/it! I get a lot of "this game isnt working" from the kids.

Fire Blaster ReviewI bought this toy for my four year old son. Like the other Matchbox products that I have purchased, this is very durable and does not come apart when he plays with it (unlike the competition's playsets!) This product also works the way that the manufacturer claims that it does. The only problem that my son has had playing with it, is with the cars that he uses with it. We have so many that this really isn't an issue. Just know that every car does not work with it.

Fun...That lasts...My father bought this toy last christmas for my son whom was only 2 1/2 yrs. old at the time. And though he had some trouble at first with this toy...After shown just what needed done. It was a toy that, him as well as his brother (whom is three years older) had fun playing with. Thought the firetruck's ladder came off right away. The actual toy itself has tested the time of two boys playing with it. And it's still a favorite. I would recomend this toy. I have found that Matchbox by Mattel holds up to toddlers over any other brand of playset for cars. And am happy with all the Matchbox playsets we own...For one can usually pick them up and move them from one place to another without much difficulty.

So Sweet. My daughter loves this toy. It's really just a stuffed animal but it works great as an incentive to get my daughter to sleep. when she plays with it with the lights off its quite pretty. It's works well and is better quality then most barbie toys made of cheap plastic.

Just another plushieMy daughter recieved this as a gift for her b-day. She instantly loved it, and loved how the horn lights up. She lost the little comb almost immediately, although we do find it every now and then. We have to find other ways to comb the mane. It isn't too loud, and it does have a few phrases, and a little song.

Eye poker-outerMy daughter drove me nuts asking for this toy. She really loves it and is playing with it for hours. However, the horn of the unicorn is made out of hard plastic. It is an eye hazard. The rules in purchasing this doll were no running while holding it and she could not sleep with it. It talks, lights up and plays music. The recording is very audible and the volume is not too excessive. Besides the horn, it is a great toy. My daughter is six, but I would not recommend this for younger or rowdy children.

This game of chance for two to four players is simple and silly, just like SpongeBob himself. The idea is to roll the die and advance toward the goal, following the instructions on each square, with plenty of Chutes and Ladders-style reversals of fortune along the way. You can play as SpongeBob, Squidward, Sandy, or Patrick, and a nice touch is that two game pieces are provided for each character. The only major complaint is with the board itself, which is flimsy and difficult to lie completely flat, making the top-heavy Squidward piece even more prone to fall over. But this doesn't prevent the game from delivering the kind of entertainment that amuses without taxing the brain, just like the beloved television series. --David Stoesz

Not as good as it should beThis game sucks. It is another example of Nickelodeon's habit of rushing things to market with little thought. It is true that each bubble has a saying and/or an action for the player to do, but considering the wittiness and originality of the show, the sayings and activities are pathetic. Nick should have put about 100 more hours into designing this game...then it would live up to expectation.

kids love itThis is really fun. We bought it for our son, and our older daughter plays it too. They have a good time, and it teaches patience with having to take turns. It is good for kids that are beginners at reading, and is also good for counting. Would recommend for Spongebob fans!!! :-)

spongebob fanThis fun game was given to my 5 year old. It's a lot like candy land, except you land on little bubbles. You will have to read each bubble to make your way to the Krusty Krab. You need to collect gold coins to enter and win. The game comes with 8 small figures a set of spongebob, sandy, sqidward and patrick. My five year old loves it. Each bubble has a cute saying such as; Laugh like Patrick, or Lose coins for wripping your pants. ALl based on the tv show. Very cute and worth the money. Uses some reading and counting skills.

The 45th Anniversary Barbie Doll by Bob Mackie

The beauty of Bob Mackie at an affordable price.I think the last reviewer did not understand the rating system. She said the doll was a true collectors item and then gave it a poor rating???? I am thrilled with this lovely doll. I am an avid Barbie collector and especially adore the creations of the wildly talented Mr. Mackie. In the past, his high end creations have retailed for around the 199.00 to 249.00 price point, but this year, being Barbie's 45th Anniversary, Bob Mackie teamed up with Mattel to bring us a doll that can be more easily afforded and thus, more obtainable for most collectors. Some people have said they were dissapointed with this stunner as she is not as heavily beaded and intricate as his higher end creations, but please remember, she is retailing for only a fraction of the costs of his higher end dolls. Keeping that in mind, I think she is a wonderful addition to my Bob Mackie Barbie collection. She is dressed in a form fitting black dress that flares slightly at the bottom. She has matching black arm cuffs and white and silver trim at the top of her gown. She has an elaborate embroidered swirl design that starts from the bottom of her gown and goes around her back and then up and around one side of her head. What some people don't know is that when she is deboxed, you get to see that there is a wonderful cut out in the swirl, behind her head, for her lovely platinum white, hair do / bun to poke through. Her hair bun is pulled back tight, and woven into sort of a braided bun with tiny strands of clear, iridescent strands that shine and glimmer in the light. Her earrings are pure glamour and are silver toned, drop style dangling earrings with huge diamond-like stones at the bottom. They are very dramatic. Lastly, her makeup, while being very soft, almost muted colors, is very lavishly applied. Her eyebrows are highly and perfectly arched and her eyes are a pale shade of blue and drawn out in a very cat-like manner. Her lips are a very nice nuetral type pink and her finger nails are painted to match. She also comes in a newer, Collector Edition, packaging that is different from the previous, high end, Mackie creations. I think this girl is breathtaking for the price and if you give her a try, I do not think you will be dissapointed. Happy collecting!!!

Barbie Remote Control Volkswagon Beetle Convertible
Made by Mattel
Amazon base price: $29.99
Whether it's cruising to the sandbox beach, rushing around the living room, or escaping down the sidewalk, style conscious, trend-setting Barbie is sure to get noticed. Now she can take all her friends cruising in her sporty new purple and tan Volkswagen Beetle convertible. Looking just like the real thing, this distinct little remote control car comes complete with VW logos on the hubcaps, seatbelts and even a dashboard flower. With a matching cell phone-sized remote that operates at 27 MHz (and requires four C, and one 9-volt battery (not included)) all that's lacking are the drivers. --Deb Oroszlan

MegopolisI grabbed this toy at Target when I saw that it cost just about as much as any other Barbie car, but this one was remote- controlled. We bought this for our 6 year old daughter for Christmas in lieu of yet another Barbie horse-drawn carriage. This is a whole lot more durable than any carriage! My daughter has no problem remembering to turn off the car with the switch on the bottom. It is bulky, and it takes up its own space on a shelf, rather than in a toy box. As far as the turn feature, it does not have a right or left control, but by backing up and going forward in small steps, you can get the car to turn. This is a challenge for my daughter, yet one she can handle. Because of its size, I think this is a better outdoor or garage toy, in which the child has plenty of space to run it around. In retrospect, my daughter would have equallly loved the Barbie VW beetle- non-remote-controlled version with the key that opens the trunk, but it actually would have cost us more than this one.

So Cute... BUT...This car is so cute, It would have made a great Xmas gift. I'm just glad I checked it out first.... First of all it takes 4 "C" batteries and 1 "9" volt. It does not shut off automatically, so it will suck the batteries quickly. Secondly, it goes forwards/backwards only. There is no turning. Thirdly, it worked great on the kitchen tiles, but on the carpet, it had a ridiculously LOUD and grating squeek. It's cute but definitely not worth it, and will be returned tomorrow.

This portable pad teaches barnyard animal shapes and sounds and provides some musical fun as well. Measuring about 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet, the pad folds out for some foot-stomping fun. There are four games to play: an animal identification game, a memory game, and two music games. Farmer Jed leads the gameplay and calls out instructions in a twang that's accompanied by some countrified, banjolike music. All the games are played by stepping on parts of the mat or dancing on it as the instructions direct. This game could be great for large motor skills and coordination. Any of the four games are chosen via a console that doubles as a carrying handle, allowing the game to be cleverly folded up for travel. Three AAA batteries are required (not included). --M. Sullivan

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING THIS TOYNot a great toy for little ones. It's tempermental and often will malfunction in the middle of a game. In the "follow me" mode it will give a series of animal names and you must step on the animals in the correct order, if you don't it buzzes and gives you another chance. Nine times out of ten we've done the steps correctly but it still buzzes us. Very frustrating.

Not as great as other Little People ToysThis toy is okay but is nowhere as nice as the other Little People toys. My main complaint is that it is very loud and there is no volume control. Also, when we put in the musical note mode, there is a delay from when you step on the key to when you actually hear it. It makes my son lose interest. For the price it is not terrible but there are a lot better toys out there.

With its Flavas line of edgy teen personalities, Mattel breaks from its traditional fashion-doll creations to take on the streets. The ultrastylish unit is all grit and graffiti, but its hip style is as innocent and innovative as urban kids are in reality. The lovely Latina Tika, a member of the Flavas crew, comes with two sporty outfits (which somehow match her streaked hair), two pairs of shoes, a necklace, a purse, a hairbrush, a boom box, and removable fashion decals for her human friends. She's fully articulated, with jointed elbows and knees, so she can get down dancing or striking poses on her included street stand. --Diane Beall

Great DollAs the mother of Multiracial children, I consider this toy to be a Godsend. I love being able to buy my daughter a doll that reflects her skintone, eye color, and hair. I love that it sends the message that she IS as beautiful as Barbie, and that beauty comes in many different shades. I love their faces, and the clothes and accessories on these dolls do a better job of reflecting current and trendy clothing styles. (Modest, sporty, and fun.) I love these dolls.

disgustingThe fact that toy manufactuers are making children grow up sooner than they should is disturbing. We wonder why child molesters are so tempted today, it is what we are allowing our YOUNG children to emulate. Parents need to take a stand and not purchase this product. Mattel needs to learn that sometimes children need to be shielded from "reality".

One of the better Hot Wheels ToysWe have them all!! My son loves Hot Wheels and we have tried them all. Most of the time, we are highly disappointed in the quality and how quickly things fall apart, but we have been pleasantly surprised by this one. It stays together, is easy to put away and put back together. We give this one an "A."

Not Bad!!!At first we were bummed that when the red button was pushed, nothing would happen!!! Then after messing around with it for a while we noticed the button on the bottom had to be on a hard service to activate launch (we also used cardboard while playing on the carpet) Once that was figured out my boys ages 7 & 2 had a blast!!!! Be advised while allowing younger children to join in the fun, there are small pieces (rubberband)

Great for the drag race fan.You can use hotwheels cars and trucks with this track, an added bonus in my book. Overall I am very satisfied and wanted to clear up the start-gate issue..
This quote best explains the start gate, "drag-race start gate with a fair-start feature to weed out the cheaters". Its this fair-start feature I believe is being mistaken for a broken start gate. There is a button on the bottom of the 4-speed launcher that must be engaged before the start of the race and by being on a hard surface keeps it engaged all the time. If your not on a hard surface, i.e. on carpet, you may need to put a piece of cardboard underneath for the button to be engaged. Than you start the green start token, and once it gets to the bottom of the x-mas tree start. You can press the launch buttons and the race begins. If you press the launch button before the token gets to the bottom (i.e. a redlight in drag racing), the cars will not go anywhere and seem broke, when it is not.

Tail Problem FixedI just got this Barbie doll for my younger stepsister. At first we thought that the tail was as everyone else described it: faulty. It wouldn't stay in. Then my stepmother took it, pushed a little harder, and now she can hold the thing by the fin and swing it around. Just put a little more pressure on it and it'll snap right in.

AwfulI bought this thinking that the tail falling off was a fluke (no pun intended). However, I bought two of these and the tail refuses to stay on. It is not a fun toy to play with in or out of the bathtub. My four year old has already discarded it to play with her durable toys.

a tail gone badThe tail does not stay on for even a moment! My little girl gets very upset and I have tried glue, but being a water toy it fails. I hope they fix this problem in the next model, I will not purchase anymore of this version.

Helps Control ClutterThis bag has really helped my daughter keep all of her What's Her Face pieces in one place. It is not necessarily educational or fun but it helps keeps the toys picked up! The only problem with this bag is that it does not ahve any small pockets to hold the stamps or markers for the doll - everything is thrown together in one compartment.
