Flavas Tre: Sporty Style
Made by Mattel
Age Group: 6 - 12 years
    Amazon base price: $
    List price: $13.99 (that's NaN% off!)
With its Flavas line of edgy teen personalities, Mattel breaks from its traditional fashion-doll creations to take on the streets. The ultrastylish unit is all grit and graffiti, but its hip-hop style is as innocent and innovative as urban kids are in reality. Super-smooth Tré, a member of the Flavas crew, comes with two street style outfits, two pairs of shoes, a necklace, an earring, a gear bag, a boom box, and removable fashion decals for his human friends. He's fully articulated, with jointed elbows and knees, so he can get down dancing or striking stylish poses on his included street stand. --Diane Beall

Tre is Looking well.... you know
Tre looks a little bit feminine to put it lightly and I don't think he would last a day on the streets. He comes in light blue shorts/jacket with a black t-shirt. I find his beard kind of creepy and I think most other people would too. I don't think this men are nearly as cool as Happy D, Kiony Brown, Tika or P B.O. I think you should forget about these "girls" (liam/tre) and use the men doll you all ready have. Personally, I think any man doll you put with the Flavas Girls would cramp their style, A.K.A. "flava".

    Street-"Innocence" For Your Kid
The description of this line of dolls claims - "[the] hip-hop style is as innocent and innovative as urban kids are in reality". Make of that what you will. And I notice Amazon is marketing this item as suitable for kids ages 6 and up. Make of that what you will as well. These dolls are marketed with additional items suitable for the style - cell phone, tattoos, etc. No weaponry? I'm surprised.

      teaches a lesson
This is a good toy. It can crash and be put back together again. u put in the crash dummy figures and crash it and the dummy goes through the windshield. and falls to pieces!!. it has little seatbelts to show how seatbelts really save lifes. this came from the tyco in the early 90s. these hotwheel versions arent as fun as the original, but there still a blast!. the car crashes very awkaward (the whole front folds under) thats the only complaint. remember dont be a dummy buckle your safety belt!

      Don't Waste Your Money
My son (8 years old) took it out of the box and pressed the button one time. After that, the legs would not stay in. The legs keep falling out while just holding the crash dummy. The clip does not hold the legs in tight enough. The arms and head also fall apart very easily. Waste of money!

Ken & Barbie dance The Waltz in classy style.
The Waltz is one of the most graceful of the ballroom dances. Couples seem to glide across the floor with the ...one, two, three, ...one, two, three, ... rhythm that holds them in an enchanted embrace. Barbie and Ken show the elegance of this mid-1700's dance, that evolved because the new 3/4 beat in the music of Johann Strauss.

Barbie's jewelry is exquisitely designed in pink crystal. Ken is dressed in a tuxedo with tails. His head is slightly turned. In The Waltz, couples rarely look at each other as every movement of the body embraces the dance.

Fun - Barbie is beautiful in a pink chiffon gown accented with marabou. It's easy to imagine that she is Ginger Rodgers and her partner Fred Astair.

Durable - Mine will remain in perfect condition because I'm a collector. If a child plays with the set, the first thing to go will be the shoes, the rest will follow.

Educational - Can be used to teach a child about Strauss, the waltz and its rhythm compared to today's music, and the evolution of dance. The Waltz never goes out of style, it's just that so many people do not know how to dance it, and that provides another educational opportunity.

Truly one of the most beautiful giftsets.

Not Bad for 4 year olds
We initially were not going to purchase this since it had gotten two bad reviews....but my four year old son has been obsessed with monster trucks for awhile and insisted on buying this. Anyway...yes, the instructions can be confusing but all in all our son played with it all day long. He loved getting his other Hot wheels Monster trucks and trying them on the track (they also work). He really got into setting up a HOt Wheels Monster truck challenge and was able to win against the Crusher. If your son LOVES Monster Trucks he will probably enjoy this toy.

          Don't waste your money
I think Hot Wheels has some great stuff out there....but this is definately NOT one of them. Putting it together is a pain in the neck..it's very hard to click every together and the instructions could not be more unclear. (be aware that the pieces do not come out again, so you're stuck with this large contraption to store afterwards). There is only one function...pull the truck back on the lever and try to hit the monster's chest....so we did....but it was virtually impossible to do. The truck keeps falling in the "pit" and gets eaten every time. It's just poorly designed. It's VERY loud and my intelligent 5-year old stopped playing after 10 minutes.

          What a waste of money!
My 5-year-old son is really into monster trucks, and he was so excited to get this toy. He saved his money for months to buy Crashzilla. This toy is fairly expensive--we paid $25 for it at our local target. It really only does one thing. You cock back the truck and aim it for the monster. You either get eaten or knock its head off. Wow! For $25 you'd expect a lot more. My son was bored with it in a few hours. A better choice for those young monster truck lovers are the Crank & Crush sets. They are only $12 and keep my son entertained for hours a day. Stay away from this one!!!

            Bratz are just as bad
Yes i know that these "flavas" are a total flop for mattel, but bratz are just as `ugly and pathetic. I vomited in my louis vuitton bag when i got mine and i puked on my precious barbie collectible (society girl). Does anyone have a remedy to remove fermented rice and seaweed from doll hair?

            Wonderful Fun!!!
Wonderful fun.... to burn and incinerate due to the bad things emerging from the sale of these gruesome zombie dolls. Do mattell realise what they are doing? They are promoting the things that you expect to see in a r rated movie. The dolls are so grotesque they are able to make me vomit. (...)

I just threw up on my new Wintertime Wonderland Bratz doll.
THESE DOLLS ARE BAD INFLUENCES ON YOUNG CHILDREN. TAKE THEM AWAY NOW! THEY ARE SAYING IT'S COOL TO SHOW OFF YOUR BODY, BUT IT'S NOT! I'd recommend a Bratz doll, because not only are they prettier, but they're also more modest, and influence children to just have fun! I would know; I'm their numba' one fan! Who would wanna dress up as some street bum hooker? Not me! Mattel, throw this useless hunk o' trash away NOW! Unless you want all girls influenced by this molested 'cause of their tiny skirts and exposed belly buttons! HUNK OF TRASH! I'd rather buy a MyScene doll, and that's saying alot; My Scenes are ugly!

            Barbie R/C Corvette: 27 MHz

            Age Group: 5 - 11 years
              Amazon base price: $
              List price: $29.99 (that's NaN% off!)
Send Barbie down the driveway in style in her hot pink, remote-controlled Corvette convertible with her own personalized Barbie license plate. Her awesome auto is 19 inches long, with heavy-duty construction that will stand up to lots of long rides. The car requires four C batteries, and the handheld transmitter needs one 9-volt battery, none of which are included. The wheels of Barbie's car have shiny silver hubcaps, and there's a central turning wheel underneath the car to help it take corners. And because Barbie is such a smart girl, she and Ken always wear the attached white seat belts, which open to accommodate the dolls. --Marcie Bovetz

              WHAT JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS TOY. MY DAUGHTER'S HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. YOU DIDN'T EVEN NEED THE REMOTE TO MAKE IT MOVE. SOMETHING WAS INTERFERING WITH IT. THE LIGHTS WERE ON CONSTANTLY. I ACTUALLY HAD TO TURN IT OFF SO IT WOUDN'T DRIVE ITSELF OFF. THEN WHEN IT WAS ACTING NORMALLY, IT ONLY GOES FORWARD AND BACKWARD.WHAT A JOKE. MY SON HAS R/C S' THAT COST LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE THAT GO IN ALL DIRECTIONS. WHAT, GIRLS DON'T DESERVE TO GET A CAR THAT GOES LEFT AND RIGHT? I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE SO UPSET AT A KIDS TOY, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE TO SEE YOUR KIDS CRY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO KEEP A TOY THAT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT, I REALLY GET ANGRY.

HEY MATTEL CHARGE US AN EXTRA $10.00- $15.00 FOR A VEHICLE THAT GOES LEFT,RIGHT,FORWARD AND BACKWARDS. I'M SURE A LOT OF PARENTS AGREE, AND WOULD SPEND THE MONEY.

HOW ABOUT THAT IDEA FOR 2004 CHRISTMAS???????????????????????????

Don't waste your money!! But hey, atleast its PINK!
The only thing they got right on this product is the color.... My daughter received this as a b-day gift and I tell you that I would return it in a heart beat if I could (no receipt and it's been taken out of the box). The only good thing my daughter said she liked about the car is that it's pink. My daughter just turned 5 and it is way too slow for her, she would rather push it across the room herself than waste her time driving it. The slowness of the car along with the steering problems of the car ... make it impossible to cross a small room in less than 5 minutes. She says it's boring so I give it 1 star for fun!! Educational, definately 1 star because if anything it's confusing having to go in reverse to turn in one direction only. Who knows about durability, it won't be played with that often to even find out! Sorry, thumbs down on this product.

              fun but disappointing
Indeed the car only turns when going in reverse. My 5 yr old daughter badly wanted a radio controlled car, but was insistent that it not be a "boy" car. So we got this. Out of the box I was very disappointed and still think its a shame that Mattel feels they can dumb down a girl's car to this extent (the remote only has 2 buttons). That said, my daughter does enjoy driving her dolls around in this and hasn't lost interest in 2 months. She will play with it for 30 minutes a time, once a week.

                Disappointed!
Don't bother with this toy. It will not stay together and is very flimsy. We were very disappointed that we wasted our money on it.

                Beware of this track!!
This track looks very cool, but it just doesn't stay together. There are too many individual peices that do not stay together. Everytime by boys touched it, something would fall apart and I would have to re-assemble the entire track. I do not recommend this track at all!!!

                Tiki "TORTURE"
We got this for our 5YO son's birthday. It took us about two hours to assemble. Once assembled we found that it does not work all that great. It is constantly coming apart. The only fun thing about it is the sound effects. We seriously thought about using super glue to make the pieces stay together . I would not recommend this for any child - it is quite frustrating for my 5YO and for me.

                Batman Bat Plane
                Made by Mattel
                  Amazon base price: $
A basic low-tech plastic plane might seem a bit out of character for Batman, given the caped crusader's long-standing and well-documented penchant for gadgetry. But this vehicle still delivers features you like to see in a Bat Plane. It has two spring-loaded missiles, a clamp for nabbing bad guys (at least the kind of bad guys who somehow don't hear a Bat Plane approaching from behind), and a cockpit that opens. Into said cockpit goes Batman himself, here done up in a bluish bodysuit and wearing a black cape with silver lining. While one might wish for some sirens or flashing lights on the Bat Plane, this version never needs batteries and is likely to be a lot more durable than something electronic. --Charlie Williams

                  Poor Quality
The plane's wings constantly fall off. I had to superglue the wings and they still seem to fall off after a couple of weeks. The points on the plane's wings are kind of dangerous. My 4 year old received several different Batman toys for his birthday because he loves Batman but all have been very poorly constructed.

                  Batplane Review
I bought this bat plane for my son, it looked like a very good product, but when he started playing with it I was quite dissapointed...the wings fall off easily-many times with out even touching them, the rocket launchers and grappling arm fall off all the time too! The figures don't fit the plane very easily (u have to twist and jam them in)and once you do it is difficult to close the cockpit. This is a cool looking toy but was VERY POORLY developed as a play toy. It great as long as you don't touch it, but since its a toy...what's the point??

                  Again?
                  Batman Bat Plane By Mattel?
Really? I have two of the exact planes by Hasbro.
I was completely disappointed in this item. Not only is it the SAME plane by Hasbro; there's NOTHING different. The least they could have done was add something. Anything.
Well, they did improve the packaging. So, if you are one to keep items in the box, it will look great on display, over the Hasbro boxes.
Not much I can say on this. A real disappointment from Mattel.
                  Bottomline:
Pros: The box is an improvement over Hasbro's.
                  Cons: It's Hasbro's leftovers, repainted.
Score: 0. When one took credit for someone else's work in school, it was called cheating, and plagerism. Here, it's called cheating too; and, Mattel deserves no credit for Hasbro's Batplane.

                    Not too great
This toy LOOKS fun, but has many design problems.
Accessories are for Kelly, not Barbie. It is very hard to get Barbie to sit in the little chair- she just plops right off! If you have a textured tub it won't stick and the weight of the 'stamps' on the side make the whole thing just spin unpside down. The blue soap used to 'stamp' just runs all over when tipped, and it doesn't leave stamps on childs hand/body, just a blue blob of soap. Also the tiny accessories in the tray get into the bathwater and you have to fish them all out before you drain tub unless you want them clogging up your drain. MATTEL DID NOT PRODUCT TEST ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    This looks cool,
The only thing wrong, I see in the picure of the asscessories it comes with, I have just assessories. i bought them in a seprate item. And they will only fit the Kelly dolls. I never saw a shower like this. I mean who is going to sit down and Take a shower. I mean I like what I see, I thinks it's pretty cool. But, Barbie must be pretty lazy.

                      looks good but doesn't perform
i bought this for my 5 year old nephew and he was very excited. it was fairly easy to put together, though some joints were troublesome. the real problem was that the cars don't stay on the track. every turn, which is about every 5 seconds, is a disaster. either you slow the car almost to a stop or it just flies off. and this was me operating it, not the child, but we were both disappointed.

                      Monster Mess
Great concept, poor execution. The track is not wide enough for easy passing without bumping. Cars are fast but track leaves much to be desired.
