Scroll up and down the job sheet menu to pick a task, and whether it's Mrs. Potts's fence, the town hall roof, feeding Pilchard, or fixing a wall with muck, it will keep the little ones busy for hours. Each smiley machine has his own adventure for Bob to take part in, and the graphics are superb (as in all BBC children's games), clearly replicating these extremely popular characters.
The controls are simple and intuitive, and the enclosed instructions are illustrative and clear, taking players through the games one step at a time. They also include a number of handy hints in case building doesn't come as naturally to everyone as it does to Bob.
For little ones who are pestering parents to buy them video games, this title is a great opportunity to combine education with entertainment. Young children will while away long car or plane journeys quite happily without even realizing they're learning about shapes and patterns, numbers and letters, and tidying up and fixing things, as well as developing their hand-eye coordination and reasoning and concentration skills. (The value is much the same as when children use an educational CD-ROM.)
For Bob fans everywhere, or youngsters who love using their older brother's or sister's Game Boy, Bob the Builder: Fix-It Fun lives up to its BBC credentials: it is safe, fun, and educational. It's also the kind of video game every parent is looking to find. --Lucie Naylor

Not well thought out.Secondly, each level rewards you with a password. You re-enter this password whenever you start playing which brings you back to your current level. This would be fine if the child knew how to read and told me about the password, but he since he can't he just skips right over it and the password is lost. He needs to start from square one each time. Which leads to the next problem....
You have to accomplish 10 tasks (aquire 10 passwords) before you get to play with Scoop. This is so discouraging for my son because he loves Scoop. It's his favorite character and the only one he is interested in playing with. He's also the hardest to master. So if you don't write down those passwords and help your child enter them, they'll never get to play with Scoop.
How nice it would have been if the game had automatically saved your level each time you played. Is that too much to ask for in a preschool game?
ITEMIts a cute and great gift

For Hello Kitty collectors onlyThere's a large problem--but not NewKidCo's fault--in the basic design of this game. As gameplayers, we want and expect a Tetris-type game...an easy and familiar gameplaying concept...but "Hello Kitty Cube Frenzy" is different enough from Tetris to frustrate. I'm willing of course to admit this is *my* fault in coming to the game...unique design twists on old games and familiar gameplay are always something to be applauded. What *is* NewKidCo's fault is the spotty and anemic instructions that are poorly written and complicated. I pride myself on being able to play any Game Boy game for the first time *without* reading the instructions, but even after studying the booklet, I was confused and baffled by the gameplay.
Another major negative point is a difficulty level far beyond the age group for which this is geared (well, *I* couldn't get past the fourth level at all, but an eight-year-old might surprise me--I like a *challenging* game, but not an infuriatingly *frustrating* one). Tiny, tiny characters and weak use of color were also a disappointment (quiet pastels do *not* translate well to the Game Boy Color). Finally, the 'cube stacking' concept simply doesn't lend itself to Hello Kitty at all. It seems a concept shoehorned onto the character to sell a game to Sanrio fans. I was hoping for gameplay that involved Hello Kitty as a specific character, but here she could be replaced by any number of light-pixeled characters: Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, maybe even Lara Croft.
In short, if you're a Sanrio collector who *must* have ever Hello Kitty item ever made, go ahead, buy this one. If you're a gameplayer who's looking for an involving and rewarding cartridge, borrow it from a friend, because you'll tire of it quickly.
Helllloooo Kittttttyyyy! The story pannels are very pretty and really show off the characters (even though the story is pretty weak), but in actual game play the sprites are exremely small and it's hard to tell who is who. This adds to the frustration factor, and increases the difficulty. Let's hope this isn't the last we see of Hello Kitty, this game proves there is a lot that can be done with the license.

Password is Annoying! The really neat thing about this game is of course the monsters. They climb up and down the puzzle grid which can be really cool and the noises they make are great. As the game goes along you pick up more monsters to pick from and they all have their different quirks as they go up and down the puzzle grid. For those who are fans of puzzles, keep playing the game and it will become addictive. Just realize, passwords are annoying but it can be fun just to watch the different monsters and their different antics, especially on the rescue stage, which is a lot of fun just to watch the monsters.
If you hate passwords, though, stay away from this game because as I said, GBA and still have passwords. I don't think so. If passwords don't bother you, then this is a great puzzle game.

While this reviewer was initially a bit skeptical about the quality of the game (which seems to have been created solely to cash in on the popularity of the twosome), it is, in fact, surprisingly good. Gamers must wander through multiple arcade levels in an attempt to solve each of five separate mysteries. In order to win each level, you'll have to use your wits to open locked cages and doors containing vital clues. Mary-Kate, Ashley, and the crime-biting dog Clue must cooperate with each other to complete each level. For example, each character has a special skill that is best suited for solving a specific arcade challenge. In many cases, you'll need to figure out which combination of special character moves to use in order to find a new clue.
The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley is strangely addictive and unexpectedly fun. Fans of the Olsen twins will want to pick this up, while nonfans may want to sneak a peek when no one else is looking. --Brett Atwood
Pros:
- Addictive arcade gameplay
- Appeals to fans of Olsen twins
- "Girl" theme may embarrass guy gamers

Alright for younger girls
I guess it's ok- but not my 1st choice

In puzzle mode, players control blocks as they descend from the top to the bottom of the screen. As they fall, you can spin blocks so that they land next to corresponding colors at the bottom of the screen. Gameplay is just like the original only with a few major twists. The bin that holds the pieces at the bottom of the screen starts out partially filled, while a little professor character climbs on top of the stack. Your job is to clear lines of blocks so that the professor can reach the exit at the bottom of the bin before a spiked ceiling smacks him in the head. Two players can also duke it out in puzzle mode, sending cleared lines to their opponent's bin. This isn't the best version of Tetris we've ever played, but it does still manage to offer a lot of entertainment for its low price. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros:
- Several types of play
- Good two-player mode
- Mediocre graphics

Not the Best Bang for the Buck
Even in dreams I see the pieces falling.
Probably the best Tetris sequelPROS:
-The graphics here are much better than those in the Game Boy game of the same name.
-In addition to the new "rescue the professor" mode which is the main attraction of the game, there is the classic Tetris mode you should know and love.
-Like in most Tetris titles, there's a two-player mode (WELL worth checking out.)
CONS:
-The music, while very good, isn't nearly as catchy as the classical Russian music featured in the original Game Boy game.
OVERALL:
Overall this is a fine addition to the Tetris library. If you're a fan of puzzle games, then Tetris Plus is well worth checking out. Sure, it never got the recognition and popularity that the original did, but it's still excellent. Don't pass it by if you're a Playstation owner.
The illustration is really quite nice and it is fun to try and identify the characters and their episodes. Because of the scope of the show, not every character is here but there is a good chance that your favorites will be here.
My only real trouble with the puzzle was that many pieces were not cut through completely. Leave them together, the thin puzzle stock is not sturdy enough to force them apart. The front or back will peel.
Other than the problem above, the puzzle was fun to put together and its lack of large objects made almost every piece a challenge. It provided several hours of fun.
