Colorful, fun, educational, and FINALLY magnetic!

It only LOOKS easy!

You must be very careful when taking the pieces apart because the plywood will split apart. The first time I had to do some major gluing repairs but now we are more careful. I think even though they could have used better quality plywood that this is worth every penny. Nice wood storage box as most of Melissa & Doug's toys come in.

Nice Game, but just a little hard
Love, love, love this game...On the other hand, this game is wonderful for a variety of age groups (some of the younger kids may need some help figuring out the logic behind the puzzles), for different ethnicities (the Zoombinis are blue), and genders (most of the characters are somewhat ambiguous on gender, and the Zoombinis are all equal). I've seen it played solo, and in groups, with equally enjoyable results. And there are a number of resources available for educators, parents, etc. to help your kids make meaning from the games they are playing.
All in all, this is a must for any elementary/middle school computer educator, and a highly recommended for parents who want their kids to use computers as a tool as well as a toy.

Nearly all Pandora's Box conundrums resemble the traditional jigsaw puzzle, though you'll find plenty of visual twists, such as sliding pieces on a circular plane and solving a puzzle built on a complex 3-D object. Some deviate from this formula, but the most addictive puzzles follow this model, and those provide the most extended--and replayable--diversions.
For those overwhelmed by complex computer games, Pandora's Box's offers a simplistic interface and easy rules, easing computer novices into the puzzle environment. Pandora's Box's five difficulty levels and 350 individual puzzle variations offer enjoyment for all skill levels. Furthermore, various hints and wild cards remove the frustration factor when you're unable to complete a particular puzzle. Looking for new puzzle games to replace your Tetris addiction? Pandora's Box needs to be more difficultAlso, the way the games are constructed, there is no option for infinite variability. In other words, the pieces or puzzles are not reshuffled each time you reach the end. Each time you play it gets easier through the learning curve. This was a true disappointment.
I am still looking forward to add on modules, or additional images or pandoras box II
When is the next one coming out?Pandora's Box is a game where you can take your time and enjoy! The pictures that make up the puzzles are beautiful and I like most of the puzzles - ...the one with the moving hole isn't very good. I really enjoy the Rotascope and the FocusPoint puzzles.
Another advantage of this game is that all ages can enjoy it. Children can be on an even playing field with adults as people have different skills with these spatial things. Math and reading is not required. It might be a good game for parents to play with their children!
Microsoft has developed a great game and it seems many people are enjoying it! It's the only one like it that I've seen and it's very reasonably priced.
I just hope that they come out with Pandora's Box 2 relatively soon!
A GREAT WAY TO USE THE BRAIN
This game has 80 tiles, all "L"-shaped, all different, and all magnetic. This is important because when they first published this game a few years back, the tiles were not magnetic and they slid around alot. I'm happy to report that the magnetic tiles work great and they don't slide at all. Even the scoring markers, which also had the sliding problem in the previous edition, are now magnetic. The game also has full-color rules in both English and French.
They also sell a travel edition of this game which is less expensive but the tiles are (obviously) much smaller. The full-size edition is far superior for play at home.
