This barn has multiple doors that open-some slide and other's are dutch doors. We do have another barn of this type that has the dutch doors and the hinge's fell apart right away. I am hoping this one will be better since the doors do seem to open and close more smoothly on this particular barn...but need to stress that the kids need to be somewhat 'gentle' with these dutch doors so they don't break the hinges. The manufacturer really should attach them with metal hinges and they would last alot longer.
Overall...I feel my kids are going to get alot of enjoyment out of this barn.

"My First Brain Quest: Animal Matching" game is recommended for children 2 to 5 years old. I'd say it's more appropriate for children that are 3 and 4-years old. In my experience, 2-year olds don't have the patience to sit, and wait to take turns, and 5-year olds would be bored. The concept is excellent... using your memory to match pairs; however, I wonder why this particular animal menagerie was selected. Considering the game is targeted at 2-year olds, wouldn't it make more sense to focus on common creatures seen in zoos, as opposed to exotics? I've never seen a dromedary, and I think it's expecting a lot from a 2-year old to compare, and contrast one to a camel.
When William received this game he wasn't developmentally ready to play it as intended, so we talked about the animals. We discussed where they live, and the sounds they make. Some of the pictures confused him; as a result, I separated them to avoid frustration. The images on the cards are full-color illustrations rather than photographs. I've noticed that toddlers seem to retain information better when realistic images are used in books and in games. I wouldn't call the images animated, but they are stylized. These pictures do resemble their real-life counterparts, although some have more of a creative twist than others.
Now that William's 3-years old we can play the game. He's learned how to distinguish between the animals, and how to focus so he remembers the placement of the cards. He's also learning how to be patience, and how to take turns. He sometimes gets excited, and takes a turn out of order, but that's to be expected. William likes the "animal game," as he calls it, and mommy fancies the time together with her son. Mommy also loves the broad smile that spreads across her sons face when he matches a pair. "My First Brain Quest: Animal Matching" game is educational and rewards achievement; consequently, it's a winner in my book.
Happy Playing,
Mary

He's cuddly thus a good sleeping companion, and he's sturdy. This youngster seems to delight in tugging on ears but after some time her bear still has both of his!
A brown bear wouldn't stand a chance beside this fellow!

These little guys are quite cute! My daughters just had to have one each, and spent their allowances to order them from Amazon. They have a smallish body and oversized head, and when you give them a sqeeze or "hug", their ears snap to attention. Very funny, and giggle inducing for the little ones. It works with air, as the ears are otherwise quite floppy with a soft tube inside. They seem quite popular, judging by the reaction when they took them outside to greet the neighbor kids. Lots of squeals! They also have a bonus- in the little locket on their collars is a tiny Snubbie figurine, which seemed to be almost as thrilling for them as the plushie.

Honestly, it was just so cute that I couldn't pass it by. It's very small in reality -- just the right size for a little tyke to saddle up on.

Still, my little cousin loves her to death, just like Strawberry Shortcake and the Care Bears. The latest 80's retro toy trend has come to Rainbowland. It isn't like the past, but it's darn close enough
***GOODY NOTE*** The dolls comes with a 20 minute DVD of an episode of the old Rainbow Brite. it just goes to show some good things never change

Great toy and stuffed animals too.
Very entertaining and fun for crib or playtime.
