I was totally looking forward to getting this set for my 9 year old daughter. She loves all the little Breyer accessories and usually really enjoys them. This particular set I was very dissapointed in. First, Jackie came to me almost in tears because she was so frusterated she couldn't get the splint boots on. My husband and I both tried and let me tell you - it was near IMPOSSIBLE. The splint boots should have some sort of velcro like the bell boots but instead you have to get these TINY leather straps through TINY little buckles. It got all of us frusterated. I had to take the splint boots away from her to see if her father could improve them somehow (it turns out he couldn't). Then, shortly after, poor Jackie came to us again...this time with the martingale. It turns out the only great quality Breyer bridle she had couldn't work with this martingale. You see, the bridle's noseband MUST be adjustable! The part of the martingale that attaches from the chest to the nose has to go through a part of the bridle (the noseband).
The bell boots and the saddle pad are fine, thank goodness.
I do NOT recommend this product for your children. Not only could you have the above listed problems, but the parts are very small. If your child doesn't swallow them they will SURELY loose them quickly.

Do not purchase this for a toy even for a careful child. My daughter is very good with things and after working with this cart trying to repair it I can see that it is much too delicate for any use. It is a lovely decoration though and the harness is very neat.

My cat freaks out at first look of the cat attack, but then he gets bored with it. I decided to let the cat hang out by himself with this thing one or two times (when you leave kitty unit on the floor by itself, the string/fluffy ball goes crazy by itself), but my real kitty ended up being too smart for it, and turned it over on its back, rendering it useless. The cat is definitely intrigued by this device but it does not do anything like his favorite toy, a little yarn duck on a string that we usually play with (and cost a mere 2 or 3 bucks). I suggest keeping your money and playing the normal way. Nothing can replace the fun kitty gets with human contact and a generic toy.
