Decent Party Game
Battle Hunter:a pretty good RPG
Used price: $6.99

Decent gameGraphics: 4/5
For the Gameboy at the time, these were great. The picture is sharp and clear, just like the NES games. The only problem is you have less room on the screen to move around, but other than that, the graphics are fine.
Challenge: 4.75/5
If you can beat this game, you're a Mega Man game master. The passwords only take you to Wily's Castle, which is only about three quarters of the way through the game. Likewise, the Castle and Space Fortress are extremely tough, and the bosses don't help things any. The fact that you don't have energy tanks only adds to the toughness.
Play Control: 3.5/5
Just like Mega Man 1 and 2 on the NES. Walk, shoot, jump.
Theme/Fun: 3/5
It's a portable Mega Man game, and the first one of its kind. Unfortunately, it's not likely to hold your attention long, unless you can get over the difficulty. If you manage to do so, it's pretty fun
Storyline: 2/5
Typical revenge plot. Enough said.
Music/sound: 3.5/5
Most of the tunes are mediocre remixes of the NES ones, but they aren't too bad. The music in Wily's Castle is killer. The sound effects are good.
Overall: 3/5
This game could've been so much more than it was. The extreme difficulty is sure to be a turn-off to many would-be players. I recommend this game to Mega Man fans only.
Underrated classic.THE GOOD
The graphics and animation transfer well from the NES counterpart and we get to fight four bosses from the first game. After you defeat them, you fight four from Mega Man 2 (this cycle continues and ends at Mega Man IV.). The music was also good, some of them new including the Wily stages. It's also interesting to see a change on the bosses; examples: Cut Man's nastier and Elec Man is tamer, Fire Man's weapon is good against Quick Man, and so forth. And may I also state that the game is reasonably difficult... not "kick you in the [...] and make you love it" difficult like the first Mega Man for NES, but certainly not an easy venture. Capcom also created an extra boss specifically for this game: Enker. He's one of my FAVORITE robotmasters ever created. His weapon may seem useless, but... well, you'll figure it out. One last thing: YOU'LL LOVE THE ENDING.
THE BAD
There are two things I didn't like about the game. I wish it had more plot involved, and that isn't too much of a gripe, but Mega Man 2 (NES) basically had the same type and had more storyline involved (Dr. Wily wants to exact revenge upon Mega Man, hence the game's subtitle). Secondly, the game is actually not that hard, but it's made even more difficult because of the game boy's tiny screen, which makes him have a lower lifebar and smaller surroundings.
OVERALL
Aside from a couple bads, this is an enjoyable Mega Man adventure. I grew up with this game, so that might be why I like it so much. Nevertheless, nostalgia aside, it's certainly not a bad game. Mega Man fans, give this one a shot. In any event, hopefully this can be a good introduction into this phenomenal and legendary video game series as it was for me.
My first introduction to Mega Man
- Over 6 addictive mini-games
- 5 distinctive laboratory lobbies to explore
- 2-player battles to prove who is the true scientific genius--Mandark or Dexter
- Experiments and inventions to master in order to progress through Dexter's Lab
- A fun, arcade, puzzle game where you must help Dexter regain control of his lab

Enter the fray as one of two fully developed races with unique campaigns and strategies. Immerse yourself in O.R.B.'s environment--a living solar system with planets and a vast asteroid field where danger and opportunity lurk. Shape the world and the fate of your race by building secret bases inside them. Engage in epic fleet combat with a wide variety of vessels and specialized units, including orbital shock troops, mine layers, fighters, jamming units, probes, and massive capital ships. Enjoy a unique downloadable campaign editor and tools, complete with the ability to script your own cutscenes. Launch explosive battles with up to eight players in cooperative and head-to-head multiplayer mode.

Puts the Strategy back in RTSGameplay:
I'm really a ground-pounder at heart, so I always approach space RTS' with a little trepidation. O.R.B. was able to guide me into the interface with a number of tutorial missions that explained the most basic aspects to moving in 3 dimensions, and mining in the Aldus System. The interface is quite intuitive, making viewing the entire map to looking at the hatches on your interceptors quite easy. Learning how to interface with the world is easy, it's learning how to skirmish that will take some time to perfect.
Unlike ground-based FPS where battles rely on numbers to tactics, O.R.B. relies on wing formations and dog-fighting - especially when you are facing equally capable foes. Once you get a feeling for what ships are good against what enemies, you should be off to a good start. As your ships get larger, your tactics will start to resemble naval engagements rather than aerial ones, and that adds to the fun.
The story in O.R.B. is much better than I had expected to find in an RTS. The two campaigns play off each other, so the enemies you fight in one, will not necessarily be the enemies you fight in the next. It is a much better improvement than the standard formula of play side A and kill side B; play side B and kill side A. It's safe to say that once you get into the story, you'll want to know what's going to happen next.
Finally, since the game has a fairly large tech tree and limited resources (it increases the challenge - that's a good thing!) your tech carries over from one mission to the next. There are also missions where your fleet carries over, so you will want to focus on preservation rather than high kill and death ratios. The highly limited resources also means that there will be times when you'll have to make the effort to capture enemy vessels just in order to scrap them. It really requires planning so that your enemy starves himself before you do; even then odds are you'll spend every last credit you earn on every mission.
Graphics:
Nice and sharp, just as I'd expect in a space sim. The close zoom doesn't reveal any lazy modeling, and though they lack ultra detail, it saves the system when there are a hundred units swirling around your screen. The only slowdown I ever had was when I tried to camera inside an explosion, but that was because I was trying to stress the engine. Beyond that, the only gripe I can think of is the short distance at which your ships zoom into green dots on your screen. Yet that is more of a design issue than a gaming one.
Sound:
Space is silent - I'm usually too zoomed out to hear the gunfire, so all I ever ended up hearing were the ever persistent alarms and various cues. Your ships do talk to you, but it's in some alien language, so voice acting is... un-judge-able. The music is spacey, reminds me of background music to MOO 3, but again it's exactly what you would expect from a space sim. In truth, that's not a bad thing. No points off here either.
Overall:
It's quite clear that the goal of this game was to make you think about your tactics, rather than letting you pick one unit to build a thousand of. Each ship has its function and you need to learn when and how to use them. The manpower limits and highly limited resources all add to this game in a good way that will offer a challenge on any difficulty level.
The only downside is the lack of multiplayer community available for it. The few times I loaded up gamespy to check for games I rarely ever saw more than 1 or 2 people bumming around in chat. If you are looking to play this online, it would behoove you to have a friend pick up a copy as well.
If you only buy games to play online, well then this might not be the best game to spend your money on, but if you like single play, or just don't have access to a good stable connection, then I highly recommend O.R.B as being one of the best and most challenging RTS' to hit the market in a long while.
3-D space RTS done rightAll in all a great game destined to get even better.
A must have for any TRUE RTS fan. There are all these Homeworld and Hegemonia fanboys giving bad reviews to a superior game. Now I loved and still play Homeworld. It is truely what started its genure. If your looking for a Homeworld clone, don't buy O.R.B.
Hegemonia shouldn't even be compared to O.R.B. In my opinion it is Conquest: Frontier Wars redone. Sure it has pretty explosions. The graphics are too cartoonish for my taste. The scale is awful. I would only recommend this game if you like the C&C series. So you can use one type of unit to destroy everything.

The kit includes a cozy silkworm habitat; a certificate for three live larvae (shipped with their own food); an incubation tub; a silkworm "brush" for handling the worms; and, a Silkworm City instruction/activity booklet. As with all insects that have no skeletal structures, the silkworm larvae are quite delicate, and so are the moths they transform into. It would behoove parents to instruct younger children on caretaking before leaving them to set up the kit alone. Otherwise, they may be disappointed. --Diane Beall

All of the poop was everywhere!! It was impossible to clean up because the poo is so(...)smaall. Also, even though the moths are flighless, they still managed to get out of their box and romed around the house for about a month. I later found the white and yellow cocoons underneath a piece of furniture in my dining room along with some dead worms and moths. It was completely horrible. Even though I didnt have the kit the picture looks very much like the habitat I had.

There are a number of crates containing items in the dungeons but each time you enter the dungeons, there will always be 3 other hunters there too. The item you need to search for is placed randomly in any crates and the dungeon maps are randomly selected too. You can only exit the dungeon if you've obtained the item you were told to search for, if the other hunters found it and exits or if the dungeon boss knocks out the hunter (or you) with the item.
After a few games, dungeon battles becomes boring as it is very repetitive. Your rate of a successful attack depends on random cards play (dice roll) and special cards you can collect and use. Unlike normal RPG games where one gains better attack and special moves, Battle Hunter gives you only one standard way of attack. To make things worse, there's no option to turn off battles by other hunters. So you force to watch all the other battles takes place that are of no concern to you. This is a major waste of time in my opinion.
While you can get go to the hospital to heal your HPs or pay to level up. The only thing you find yourself doing mostly is going into the dungeons to search for items.
The game tries to make it more interesting by having various items for you to identify. Most of which you can sell for money, others like weapons and armor you can use yourself. Some of these items are floppy disks containing BGs (Background or wallpaper). Once you have identified them, you can select it as the background for the game.
I would only recommend this game for kids or for those who want to try new genre of games. For the avid RPG gamers, you can give this a pass.
