    Cute game but very difficult
I received this game as a gift. I played it and the graphics are pretty good for Game Boy Color. But it is very difficult I cannot understand how to do anything in this game. I gave it to my son to play and he cannot either. I serve the ball and my players just stand there and do nothing until the game is over. Like most Game Boy Games the instructions were not much help either giving only general instructions - Do not put the cartridge in backward. Do not put the cartridge in your mouth. Etc.

    Impossibly Difficult
This is a pretty cute little game. The graphics are pretty good. But for me it is impossibly difficult. I cannot do anything in the game! Even my son could not figure out how to play it. As with most game boy games the instructions were no help either. It only has general information. IE: Don't put the cartrige in backward. Don't put it in your mouth or you might choke. Etc.

    Great Game
This Game Is Great! I would prefer it to volleyball players. The game lets you jump serve and your basic bump set spike. When you play the championship and beat it you get a super jump serve a spin spike etc.. and a new court to play on. This is a great game!

      Power Spike Pro Beach Volleyball
If you love volleyball, then you'll like this game. You get to pick your own 2 person team out of tons of famous pro volleyball players, both male and female (like Gaby Reese), and play in tournaments on beaches all over the world. There's a steep learning curve- it takes a while to learn how to time passes and spikes, but after a few games everything gets easier and actually pretty addicting. Considering that there are hardly any volleyball games out (and this is the only one for the Playstation), Power Spike Pro is successful as a volleyball game with all-around good gameplay, graphics, control controls and action.

      Powerspike Pro Beach review
For the miniscule number of volleyball games found on any system (this is the only one for PSX), Powerspike Pro Beach Volleyball tops most. The game's controls can be a bit tricky at first, but should be no problem after a match or two. I loved the great selection of both actual pro VB players (male and female) and venues. Timing also takes some getting used to, but once you get into a rythm you can really ram the ball down the opponent's throat. This game can be ridiculously addicting at times.

      Powerspike Pro Beach Volleyball
I really liked the versatility of this game. You can create your own player(s) to play in a world wide tournament against professional players. As you progress, your player(s) earn points which you distribute to enhance their attributes. Definitely addicting!

      da best
this game is da best. it is the only volleyball game for ps2. the x box volleyball games are both mature. my friend who is on my volleyball team has a xbox and he wants a volleyball game for it but he isnt aloud to get mature games which is what all xbox's volleyball games are. any way back to the game in a little while i was spiking the ball and serving it.the graphics are great. the girls are hot . i got cheats and got better players and more bikinis for the girls. the mini games are fun too. the best part is the tournament you play all over the us. that is why i gave this game 5 stars

      Fun game all around!
I didn't think this game would be that fun, but when I first played it, it really is, so many unlockables, really gives you the feel of a beach volleyball game. And it's a very cheap price for a game, highly recommend for those who are in to sports games.

      Yes!
This game is awsome!Anyway,I think that the beach house is there
for a reson. For people to rest or go buy some stuff. When picking
      teams,I saw one girl.She's a girl like me.She wears a pink suit.
Her mane is Abbey Beckingham. She's from Australia, her power is
8.2.Her control is 6.4.And her speed is 5.5.And adding it all up
is 18.8.I always pick her.Good luck with tips I gave you!

      Thank you Summer
Two words that sum up this game- HELL YEAH! This is a great sports game to play by yourself or with others. Controls took about an hour or so to really master but the game play is extermely smooth. And then there is Summer. Quite possibly the best looking computer animation on the face of gaming planet. The drills to boost stats get really frustrating butimprove you skills dramaticaly. BUY THIS GAME!! If you don't like i'll buy it from you.

      Alot better than DOA volleyball
      Graphics-5 stars
      Fun-4 stars
      Replayability- 4stars
learning curve about 2 hours. (You constantly learn new techniques throughout the game)
I personally think this was a great game. It is challenging from the beginning and continually becomes more challenging. I judge a game by how many times I curse at it. I cursed a lot trying to master the moves and you must account for the fact that your team mate is not as good as the AI for the other team. Your team mate will constantly make you mad until you realize you dont have to set her you can hit all the time on the second shot. The game flows well and I havent tried to use any cheats because that would ruin all of the fun. The mini games are a nice touch to get your skills up and trying to get new characters keeps you wanting to play on. I think this is a great game and I may be partial because I loved Outlaw Golf as well. I think it is a great game that focuses alot more on volleyball than DOA did. In fact after learning the basics of DOA you could just look at the actual gameplay as a needless show to get more items. In conclusion this is a great game and despite the fact that Live doesnt really work all that well the game stands alone great. By the way my game never froze up on me and I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about.

      Cheaters Can't Blame Hypnotix
Beach Spikers for Gamecube is the best of the recent volleyball games, mostly because of its simplicity, actual beach mini-games, and cute Barbie Doll-like players. It is a sports game with rules that everybody must follow, not a game designed for cheaters like Outlaw Volleyball. But that's what makes this game fun.
One of the best offline features is fighting your opponents if you start to lose. You can really put the hurt on the AI "adjustment" with a few fight tokens. You can also unlock everything in exhibition mode with the correct pad cheat. And of course, there's all that M-rated language and racy antics of Outlaw Golf's original characters. But everything changes when you go online, especially if it is an "M" game.

The first online rule is that EVERYONE is invited no matter how bad they suck in this game, and must conduct themselves according to the fine print when they first signed up with XBOX LIVE. It's not censorship, it's "editing" for appropriate language and content. The box reads CONTENT DL on the back and can download Trixie to your menu, but why can't she be nude? The basic rule is that Hypnotix and Xbox Live are not porn sites, and they don't download naked Sims skins. If you want all that, then play PC games online. Otherwise, you are kicked out for abusing the system. And as far as other players cheating just like Killer "I rule all the courts!" Miller, those codes are for the kiddies not to be crushed by Half-Lifers who dominate online games. So if you like multi-player but still want to lay the smack and cut into the cheese, then invite someone head-to-head in your own home and take full advantage of EVERYTHING that's in the game.

The way to rule OV is to be cool like Doe Joe. But the big payoff is at the end of the tour when Nikki, the loser rock star who sells his soul to the Devil to be the greatest volleyball player in the world, performs "Phone Number Of The Beast", a hilarious version of Iron Maiden's classic hit. You get to watch the Hypnotix crew get squashed, eaten, and roasted by Satan himself. Makes up for a lot of frustration, and pretty much sums up what happens when you play online.

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
      Made by Tecmo
Age Group: 17 years and up
        Amazon base price: $29.95
        List price: $49.99 (that's 40% off!)
        Used price: $29.95

The successful Dead Or Alive fighting game franchise is known as much for the bouncing breasts of the female combatants as for its innovative and consistently fun three dimensional gameplay. Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is a spinoff game that entirely drops the fighting game elements in favor of focusing on DoA's other claim to fame.

The game begins with you selecting one of the girls as your character. Each game is broken up into a two week vacation, and each day is divided into morning, daytime, and evening. You spend each segment of the day playing volleyball, gambling in the casino, shopping for swimsuits and accessories, lounging around the island, or trying to befriend the other girls on the island.

I'm not sure it's fair to classify DoA:XBV as a volleyball game. Sure, you'll spend a bit of time playing volleyball, but the gameplay is so basic that there are literally only two buttons: one to pass to your teammate and another to send the ball to the opposing side of the net. It's probably more accurate to label DoA:XBV as an unusual "relationship" game, with volleyball just one of several ways to earn money to spend on gifts for girls. Each girl has a set of items that they like; the actual object of the game is to figure out what those items are, where to buy them, and how to present them to each girl. Well-wooed girls will partner up with you for volleyball matches, or allow themselves to be convinced to try on slinkier and more exotic swimwear. For example: if you want Kasumi to try on the barely-there "Venus" swimsuit, you're going to have to shower her with gifts of strawberries, balloons, and origami.

What the game lacks in depth, volleyball gameplay, or features it makes up for in eye candy. The well-modeled, bouncy characters attract the most attention, but the island’s beaches and jungles are also universally gorgeous--and most of the volleyball courts can be played at different times of the day. If nothing else, Xtreme Beach Volleyball is a great display of the raw graphical power of the Xbox.

When considering whether or not you should purchase Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball it's important to remember what it is and what it is not. It is not a volleyball game. It is an incredibly pretty collection of small but moderately amusing mini-games played by buxom cartoon babes. Fans of Lara Croft, rejoice: the next generation is here. --Jon "Safety Monkey" Grover

        Pros:

        • Fantastic graphics
        • Exotic tropical setting
        • If you ever wanted to see the girls of the Dead or Alive franchise run around in bikinis, here's your chance
        Cons:
        • Volleyball portion of game is simple, not a lot of fun
        • Only supports two players--only then in Exhibition mode and not on the same team
        • More a collection of cut scenes than a real game
        • May make you feel dirty

        DOA Xtreme Beach Fanservice...er Volleyball
If you can past the fact that this game is a giant collection of guilt inducing fanservice, than it isn't too bad. It's not perfect, but is fairly a decent game nonetheless.

        Graphics
Very sharp and clean. All the environments are well detailed and the Girls are as well. They stay clean even when watching cutscenes and playing volleyball. Sand is even is shuffled and moved when you play.

        Sound
There are songs already on the soundtrack that you'll either love or hate, but it's nice that you can make custom soundtracks by loading music from the hard drive. Sound effects and voices are there, but the characters speak only in Japanese. This may annoy some, but there are subtitles. However, they don't show during the volleyball games, so unless you're a Japanese language guru, you'll have no clue what they are saying.

        GamePlay
This is very simple. There are basically just two games, the pool hopping event, that just uses one button. Then there is the volleyball game itself. Controls are easy to use and responsive. Playing volleyball takes a bit of getting used to, but isn't too hard. In fact, you only have to play it once if you want. Since you can get through a vacation without even playing any games. There are MANY items to collect and get, which will require some work. Especially if you want to get the more revealing swimsuits, but it can get boring quickly for some. The game plays the same regardless of what girl you pick to use.

        OVERALL

It may not appeal to some, but it still can provide some amusement. It's really up to the player if they want to spend lots of time to aquire most of what the game has, and if your looking for something deep or very engaging, then you'll probably want to look at something else. But if you need a quick game (or a little fanservice), than this should appeal to you.

Have You seen the Video for this Game?!?!?!!?
Please pick up the Nov. issue of the official XBOX magazine. It has an awesome video for Ninja Gaiden and a wonderful Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball music video. One word. Delicious. OK, OK, OK. Besides all of the half naked women running around, I do believe this will be a great game. A great game that revolves around half-naked women, but great nonetheless.

Story: What a great story!!!! With his DOA tournament winnings, Zack goes to Vegas and hits it big gambling, and with his newfound wealth, he buys an island. He then sets up the lovely DOA ladies to come to his tropical island getaway by making them believe a DOA4 tournament is being held there. When they show up and realize there is no tournament, "Hahaheehee" they laugh it off and spend a summer on the tropical island playing volleyball in bikinis. Delicious. But that's not all. There's a new character named Lisa who joins in on the fun. Yah!

Gameplay: Tecmo makes great games and this will be another solid title. It will have solid volleyball action, playing out with simple button actions. It will be very user friendly. But don't let that fool you. So was Tennis 2K2. Easy to learn, but the real joy will be in mastering the game. Timing bumps and sets will be vital in becoming a DOA Xtreme beach volleyball champion. The multiplayer will be great too. 4-player volleyball is going to rock. And the one player story/career mode will actually be pretty deep. You can build relationships with other potential volleyball team partners. You can buy a potential partners a gift, and she may wear it during a match or even buy you something in return. Sounds like the sims. But regardless, it will be an important part of the game for strong relationships off the court will lead to better tag play in the matches. Sega had a simialar aproach early this year with Beach Spikers. (Which by the way is a solid volleyball game also) Also, on the relationship aspect, past DOA grudges will come into play, and rivals will not play as well when paired together, so you'd better know your DOA!

Features Features Features: This is where the game gets good. 100 swimsuits and 50 accessories to choose from. Playing games will earn you points to buy new items. Just like Tennis 2K2 on Dcast and PS2. There will be tons of patterns and styles to choose from or even use your artistic skills to create your own! (This feature may or may not be in the final version) See-throughs here we come!!!!! Ok what would an Xbox be without the use of the hard-drive. Not only will the game have a 20+ song soundtrack, but you can use your own custom soundtrack! (Make sure to pick up the "Top Gun" and "Cocktail" soundtracks with your purchase) And you can record volleyball matches to the Xbox's hard drive, then watch them later or show them to your friends! "Remember that time I destroyed you in DOA Xtreme Volleyball? Don't remember? Well, I have it right here!!!" Hahaha.

Not just Volleyball going on: Not only will there be extreme volleyball going on, but extreme partying. You can explore Zack Island's night scene. The island casino features many favorites like blackjack, roulette, slots and poker. An arcade even lets you play a DOA 3 mini-game. Speaking of mini-games...

Mini games: Lifeguard drill, a dance competition, and a beauty contest. My my my. Delicious.

This game is just that: Delicious. I really don't have to tell you there will be half-naked girls running around on the beach, because you probably already know. But aside from that, It will be great game. Pick it up.

        Great Entertainment
This is an entertaining game on several levels: beautiful rendering and cool camera control, diversity in activities (volleyball, calibration game, gambling, shopping and gift-giving, private romps on secluded beaches).

The complaints about two-button gameplay are misleading for a couple of reasons. First, the buttons are pressure-sensitive so using only two buttons actually allows you to do a lot more than just two things. Second, the directional pad allows you to aim and jump-serve while the thumbstick moves your player around. Volleyball is generally a fast-paced game, so too much more complexity would be nearly impossible for gamers to handle. (In DOA3, for example, you can back off your opponent for a couple seconds, gather yourself, and then unleash a series of cool combinations; there's just no time for that in volleyball and even if there were how many different moves do you have to have as a volleyball player?) Also, proper timing is the key to super hard serves and spikes so it's not as if everything happens automatically.

One thing I don't like is how I can't get a player up off the sand quickly enough after a dive. It's kind of annoying not to be able to force extra effort.

If you appreciate complex software then you'll like this game. The idea of building relationships and the fact that the environment (i.e. the sun, winning, losing, a player's motivation level) affects your players is fun and tends to be one of the key factors which keeps up interest. The other thing that makes things interesting is the high cost of the slinky bikinis; there's ample motivation to play the high-risk slots and win lots of volleyball games.

If you're looking for a volleyball simulator perhaps this isn't a good game for you, and perhaps you should just go play volleyball. But if you're looking for entertainment and great concepts in a game then go out and buy it.

          Aqua Blast Volleyball
I'm a 12 year old boy and this is what I think about this toy. It is a lot of fun to play with. You can play limbo or volleyball. It is very complicated to put together though. On the directions it only shows a picture of what to do. There isn't any words. My mom didn't even use the directions because she thought it was easier to figure it out on her own.

          waste of time and money
this is an extremly badly made toy it took my mom dad and i 1 hole hour to set it up and when we finaly got it set up the whater spraed streat in to the ground . the ball in the picture is a pitiful size thing only slightly biger than a base ball and poped within a mater of minets the frame is also very wobly and tiped ove newmerious times. the only reason that i gave it a 2 in the fun stares is that we got so frustrated puting this thing up my hole family ended up geting in to a huge water fight so i gess in that respect it was responsible for secondery fun.DONT WAST YOUR MONEY U WOULD HAVE ALOT MORE FUN JUST GETING OUT A SPRINGKALER.

          This toy bites
Please do not by this toy. It is much smaller than it appears on the box. And, it is not sturdy. The water barely sprays out of the bar as pictured.
