If a cartoon version of a French Bull Dog could be squeezed and hugged (and even used as a travel pillow), it would be exactly like this. With his slender body and oversized head, this sappy-eyed bull dog is a more cuddly and adorable version of the real thing. The stuffing is very soft; plush velvet-feel material covers the whole body except for the hard plastic eyes and soft plastic nose. Includes a red collar. --Richard Farr

This battery-operated pet is surprisingly realistic in the way it responds to good old-fashioned tender loving care. From the outside, this toy appears to be simply a lovable stuffed animal. The long soft yellow hair, sweet pink nose, and green eyes make it look like a real kitten. The unusual thing, though, is the way this kitty responds to a persons touch. Pet the kittens back and she will meow, purr, and move her paws in a kneading action. When kitty is hungry, just feed her by placing the included feeding bottle up to her mouth and listen as she slurps away. All these reactions are controlled by a special sensor on the kittens back which responds to a persons touch. For a child who is too young for a real pet, this toy feline may be the next best thing. For a child who wants something huggable, this may not be the right way to go--the internal mechanics are hard and prevent you from giving this little pet a good squeeze. Three AAA batteries required (included).

LOVE IT!!I got this toy a long time ago, and I love it! Mines doesnt have to much fur tho, but I still love it! I really like it when it purrs! I got another cat toy and it sounds like a machine when it purrs, but my cat(Named Creamy) purrs like a REAL cat! Not a machine! I have had her for like 2 years and she has NEVER broke! And she only needs her batteries changed like once every 2 months!

Flower the KittenFirst, so this makes sense, her are my FurReal Friends: Blossom is a big cream colored cat, Fluffy is her white kitten, Collar is her black kitten, Spot is a gray and white cat, Lily is a black and white cat, this kitten is Lily's kitten named Flower, Whitey is a white cat, Blackster is a black cat, and Snowflake is a white dog with a white/gray puppy.
Anyway, Flower is a lot softer than Fluffy and Collar! But Blossom wouldn't like me writing about Lily's kitten being better than Fluffy and Collar, because Blossom and Lily fight a lot and both love Spot!
Flower works best, too. You have to pet Fluffy really hard, Collar is a little better, and Flower works even better! She likes her milk, and my puppy's bone!
Flower is educational because she teaches kids how to take care of pets. The kids at my school LOVED these when I brought them! Everyone liked to play with them, and I think everyone at my school probably would like them!

A cute piece of junkMy 4-year-old daughter received this for Christmas. She loved it - she had been asking for it for about 2 months. It broke after one week. It wouldn't sing or dance, even after installing fresh batteries. We had a gift receipt, so we took it back to Toys R Us & exchanged it. The second one broke after only a few days. My daughter is not unusally rough with it, so there isn't anything we're doing to make it break. I e-mailed Disney to just see if there were any known issues with this product, like defects, etc. Their response was that they couldn't help me in any way because it was purchased from a 3rd party. I went back to Toys R Us again to exchange it for the second time and believe it or not, it broke in the car on the drive home. I even tried to change the batteries & reset it by turning it off & on again, but nothing worked. I cannot believe how poorly this toy is manufactured. I have never been so dissatisfied with a toy.

Gets boringMy daughter got Simba for her 3rd birthday. She asked for him and is pretty happy with him. However, he says only 6 things and seems to respond to your answers, but after a while even my three year old got bored and only muttered the same answers to his same questions. She actually asked us to turn him off and plays with him like a stuffed animal instead of an interactive toy. She does play with him, though. He just did not meet our expectations.

Activity Dino

Age Group: 6 months - 3 years
Amazon base price: $39.99

Makes a great giftI think this is a great product. It supports my son when he is sitting up and he loves to play with it. I have noticed older children like to curl up with it while watching television. I think this would make a nice gift because it is unique. Unlike most baby toys and products, we will get years of use out of the Activity Dino.
Expensive rubbish - waste of money !We recently ordered Dino for our 6 month old son, thinking we could use it initially to help him sit up and then later as a fun rough-and-tumble toy. What arrived was a small overstuffed sock with a few "crinkly" spines. The quality of the material was cheap and nasty and the construction is appauling. As for the "roar" of the nose - we could barely hear a squeak. Needless to say, we returned this "toy" immediately. Don't waste your money - a pillow with a decorative face would be just as good and at least the cover would be washable ! AWFUL !!!!!
My son loves this!!!My mother-in-law bought this for my son when he was a few months old. I never imagined he would love it as much as he does. When he was 3 or 4 months old it helped prop him up and he would look at it and pat it. Now, at 7 months he wrestles with it and plays with the spines on the back to hear the different noises. He loves the crinkly and shiny fabric. He tries to squeeze the nose which makes a great roaring sound. His eyes light up every time he sees dino!!!

Doesn't last longMy daughter received this gift for her birthday. She loves to carry around and cuddle the toy. However, 4 days later the toy stops working. I'm going to try to get the receipt from a family member, otherwise it looks like we are stuck with a broken toy. Our local store said the only other way for an exchange is to have the box...and it went in the trash the day after it was opened.

Fun but not durableI bought this for my daughter and like the other reviewer, it only lasted about a month. New batteries did not help so it must be broken. Have not tried to get a replacement yet but will. Now she does not want to play with it, as it is not a toy that can just be cuddled.

Neopet: Uni
Made by Thinkway
Amazon base price: $29.99
For kids who aren't quite ready for their first real live pet, a Neopet may just fit the bill. These plush interactive dolls respond to the sound of their owner's voice with sounds, movements, and lights. Speaking to Uni, this unicorn Neopet, produces happy chattering, and whinnying and makes her body vibrate and lights flash in his cheeks. Raised voices cause Uni to give a more subdued response such as, "I don't feel too well. Let's play a game," or a startled reaction such as "That was quite loud!" Uni answers any yes-or-no question he is asked and has 50 different sayings altogether, including expressions such as "Can you brush my mane?" and "Yay! I'm so happy!" Uni also recognizes and interacts with all other Interactive Talking Neopets and Petpets and talks to them with 30 bonus sayings when they're nearby. This stuffed unicorn operates via three AAA batteries and makes a great first pet for young children to love and care for. --Cristina Vaamonde

GREAT STUFFED INTERACTIVE TOY!This toy is better for girls than boys if you have a boy I recommend the purple shoyru (looks like a dragon), it's the same as this toy. The high price reflects it's popularity. Because of the online virtual community;"neopets", that this toy is from. If you have girls of any age, and they like white horses or unicorns they will love this toy.

injoythis toy is a very injoyable toy to play with. it is fun when the uni talks to other neopets. most of my friends have been looking for one but everywhere they go there is none to be found. so if they just made more of them i would be so greatful.
Thankyou

Not worth the moneyi bought one of the uni and one of the gift packs with Kacheek and angelpuss for my girls ages 6 and 3. They played with them for one day before we could not get the velcro where the batteries go to stay closed (I plan on returning them for something else)...not to mention that they repeat themselves over and over my husband and I were tired of them within an hour. They are cute but so are many other plush toys out there that are a better buy for your money!!!

fun for kids and dogs alikeIt's not at all intuitive to make the bouncing work. Tigger's paw only cycles through some talking phrases... The frog is the key to making the bounce work. There seems to be a small device in the frog's "belly" that triggers the bouncing when tapped. It usually works if you tap the top of the frog's head. Once we had it working, our dogs were all over it!

BOUNCES JUST BY TOUCHING THE FROG!!!!!I thought at first I was having the same problem with the toy not bouncing; until I read the directions. After the plastic is pulled out the toy bounces just by touching the frog. My 8 month old LOVES this toy; he bats at it and it goes to bouncing. I think this is perfect for babies because just by barely even touching the frog it starts bouncing, talking and singing. We have not had any problems at all about it bouncing when the frog is touched!

Wish I had seen review...We got this toy as a gift for my daughter's birthday...and just as the other reviewer wrote, once I pulled out the plastic piece, it no longer worked...easily. Had I known that was a "feature" I would have returned it, but 4 months later, too late now! I would leave the plastic piece in the back and tuck it in the toy's fabric cover so your children won't play with that part. We have to beat Tigger severely on the head to get him to bounce. Kind of hard for a small one to do that!

The Dog Feature Plush: Beagle
Made by Play Along, Inc.
Age Group: 36 months - 7 years
Amazon base price: $19.99
Beagles are wonderful dogs. They're affectionate, incredibly loyal, and highly energetic. In fact they're so energetic that many beagle owners almost wish that the dogs came with an ""off"" switch when you just want the dog to stop jumping around. Fortunately, this animatronic beagle provides just such an option. When the dog is in ""play"" mode, one pat on the head will set it off barking and fervently wagging its tail back and forth. In ""demo"" mode, a squeeze of the paw produces the same result. The joyful expression is fairly brief so even if you don't set the hidden switch to ""off"", the dog is difficult to accidentally rouse. The beagle is colored brown, tan, and white with a black nylon nose, and big brown eyes. We liked the dog's peppy displays (played at reasonable volumes) and the fact that it was soft enough to hug. --Charlie Williams

You get what you pay forWhen I saw this cute toy I thought it would be perfect for my 16th month old daughter. Within the first hour of play the batteries wore out, after replacing the batteries the ears stopped flapping, the tail stopped wagging and all it does now is bark. My child lost interest so it is sitting in her toy box (I turned it off because it would bark as soon as you walked by it). Obviously, it was not meant for extended play. It was cute though.

great toy if it doesnt breakThe batteries that come with the toy only last a few days but the quality of the toy is garbage. Within a few days of owning it the ears stopped working and the "petting" sensor only works every once in a while. ...

cute, but disappointingMy son recieved this for Christmas and the next day, it quit working. The dog is activitated by petting its head, after which its ears move up and down and it wags its tail. It worked wonderfully right away, but then when my son tried to get it to work the next day, it would work once and then not work again. My husband tried to fix it to no avail. We found that it would work if you removed the battery pack and banged it on the table-how fun is that? Somehow, it did start working again, but now the ears do not move. This toy is extremely adorable when it does work. We threw away the box and now have no way to contact anyone about the defective toy. This may be a fluke thing, but just be careful.

Fun with OctotunesI bought this for my son and when I took it out of the package and played it for my two month old son, he could not keep his eyes off of it. The colors facinated him, the sounds amazed him and he just wanted to stay focused on it as long as possible. He looked at it for hours, smiles at it and finds great enjoyment. I feel he will get plenty of use out of this fun, educational toy as well as being durable to take everywhere with him. I would highly recommend this for any baby to encourage thier visualization & listening skills, then motor skills later.

Great for everyoneWe brought this toy for our son when he was 4 weeks old. Although we doubted he would be able to operate the legs on his own for a while yet it has prooven to be a fantastic way for adults to interact with him. He started by watching and smiling or just staring when we played the leg's. It then became something of interest for him to reach out for and then chew on. He's just about five month's now and when he see's it on the ground gives it a big smile and tries to wiggle around to grab at it. We love to sit down with him and squeal the legs while he mouths any part he can get to. I think it's a fantastic investment for those parents that really want to enjoy and be part of their children's lives.
Bought it for the long haulI took a chance buying this toy. I felt it was expensive, but reasoned that although my then 6 mo. old baby would not use it for more than a teether, he'd later be able to play it himself at age 2+. My son liked it initially, but beyond grabbing it and eating the handle, legs and tassles, he was not able to play it except by accident or with his feet by 8+ months. I (and other adults) play songs or notes for him, which he likes, and am hoping that in the future he'll play with it rather than use it as an expensive teether. He tries, but it's hard for him to play notes right now. I did not know that the toy was scented and thought it was from the strong-smelling odors of the store from which it was purchased. I do not like artificial scents, but it doesn't bother me now. If you like long-term toys, this is a nicely colorful, non-electronic purchase that encourages interactive play. I use it to also teach colors and or general play. I would give it 5 stars once my baby can play the notes.

Blue & Green LeapPad Backpack
Made by LeapFrog
Age Group: 36 months - 8 years
Amazon base price: $16.99
Bright froggy green and sky blue, this lightweight but well-stitched backpack is made just for carrying a LeapPad around in. There's a special pouch with extra padding for the LeapPad, another that will hold up to four LeapPad books, and little net pouches for four LeapPad cartridges. There are adjustable shoulder straps padded for comfort and a handle for briefcase-style carrying. The shiny material is surface washable and resistant to stains. --M. Sullivan

Leap to OrderFor the price this is a great accessory for your LeapPad! My son gets twice the number of cartridges and books it it with plenty of room to spare. We even have some ziplocks with extras that can fit in no problem. The padded straps are easy on the shoulders and everything is neat and safely transported from grams house to friends to the doctor's office and everywhere in between. If you travel with your little one and their pad this is a great help.
Oh and big deal about the color difference. IF that's such a concern that it warrants a trip back to the store you have WAY too much time on your hands. My advice: use that extra time to read with your child! Life is too short and childhood too precious.
The price is great and IT WORKS just as it should and more. Another great Amazon offering.
Get the LeapPad Storage System insteadGo to Walmart.com. They have a LeapPad Storage System, which holds 12 cartridges and books, for $20. It has a handle so it's just as easy for kids to lug around. And, in my opinion, is much more attractive and practical than a backpack. A much better deal.
Perfect accessoryJust wanted to let everyone know that if your child has the leapfrog, this is a perfect addition. My son receieved the frog for x-mas, and I could not find a case anywhere. The books and tapes were everywhere, know they are all together, and he thinks it is cool to have a little backpack. Plus as an added bonus, the green and blue, are the same colors as the leapfrog, so we also coordinated.
