My daughter loves it!

My daughter is six and adores stuffed animals. That's what she plays with the most out of all her toys. She loves The Lion King movies and soundtrack so this toy was right up her alley. It is really soft and cuddly and cute too. I actually like the way Simba purr's since it will probably never break and doesn't need batteries. It was a great buy for us!

Not very fun

This toy does not hold the interest of those intended for it - ages 2 and up. The "purring" is really the sound of beads I believe rolling back and forth - not that gripping after the first time. It is cute and soft and would probably be fun for a young baby, but unfortunately the age limit says it's for older children.

Simba's adorbale...but not much fun!

Being a TLK (the Lion King) colector, when I see anything that has to do with TLK, I get it. And baby Simba is just so adorable, isn't he? He purrs; well, if you could call what he does do a purr. And, he's just so cuddly. But...other than that, his entertainment level is at a minimum. Okay, I'll admit, If I was two and had nothing better to do, Simba would probably be my favorite toy, and kids under the age of six would probably enjoy this toy, too. But, folks, if you have a kid that's at the age seven or above, this toy would bring them hours of fun...not! They'll probably play with it for a day or so, and then ask for something else. As for me, I didn't buy this product to "play" with, but, beleive me, I would know. :)

This is the older version of this toy. The newer version is supposed to be machine washable, so check the label and make sure which one you're getting!

Careful!

As cute as it is, this toy is only surface washable! Not a very good idea for a baby toy. Try the Sesame Street first friends instead. They can go in the washer and dryer and come out like new.

Cute but flawed

Undeniably cute. Undeniably soft. But poorly designed. Who wants to lean against something with a bump in the middle of your back? The bear's nose is a constant source of complaint from my son who loves to read in bed. He ends up using the bear's arm as a pillow.

Misleading description.....

The item description mentions something about the King being on your hand. Its more like the King in front of your hand. This is a finger puppet and about all you can make him do is clap. A very nicely dressed finger puppet...I must admit. There are concealed openings at the back of each of the King's arms to insert fingers and one in the back of his head to fit a fingertip. He is best used as a pretend doll. If you're looking for an actual hand puppet... you will be dissapointed.

Not a hand puppet!!!

I wanted a hand puppet. The item description was a little misleading when they mentioned the queen 'on hand'. This is a very well made and beautifully dressed toy...but it is an awkward finger puppet. It has a small opening on the back of each arm to insert fingers...and one tiny hole in back of head for a fingertip. The rest of your hand is exposed behind the doll. If I were looking a queen doll this would have been perfect. But I was expecting more of a puppet. I will return.

No Star Naming Here

I thought this was the most wonderful gift idea for a child! Both the doll and the bear models are cute, cuddly and sturdy.
However, buyers beware no star is being named "forever" as advertised. On the package a tiny disclaimer reads "International Star Registry star naming is not recognized by the astronomic community. Your star's name is reserved in the International Star Registry records only."
At best this is akin to naming your Cabbage Patch Kid - less the deceit intended.
At the International Star Registry's web site you can, for a tidy sum, "name" a star without buying the toy!

A more honest description might be "Nickname A Star"
