This is a decent racing game, fun and fast-paced. But where 3DO has really raised the bar is with the crash effects. Cars collide with a satisfying crunching sound. Smoke belches from under what's left of your hood. Car parts go flying. Huge dents appear right at the point of impact--even the taillights go out, one by one. After a few minutes your car looks like something out of a junkyard.
All this carnage makes Destruction Derby 64 one of the most fun car racing games to appear in quite a while. Aside from the pure and simple smash-'em-up derbies, you can choose a traditional looped racetrack race. Well, not exactly traditional: half of the cars race in one direction, the other cars go in the opposite direction. What happens when the two racing groups meet isn't pretty, but it is fun. Bonus: one track is laid out in a crash-inducing figure eight, just like your favorite Hot Wheels sets.
The game's only weakness is the save functionality: you need a memory card to save, and even then you need to complete an entire series to save and move to the next level. Too bad you can't save after every race: it would have reduced the annoyance factor considerably. But, nitpicking aside, the combination of high-speed racing and good old-fashioned smash-'em-up thrills makes Destruction Derby 64 a first-place winner. --Jeanne Uy
Pros:
- Car-smash effects are realistic
- Contains both circuit track racing and dirt-field demolition derby events
- Rear-view, drive-backwards mode is a nice improvement over other games
- Great multiplayer game for up to 4 players
- Can't save after every race
- Not enough variety in standard cars

Many different games in one
One of my favorite games
Never gets old!

but also check out the britax marathonAnd Britax makes the absolute best car seats you can buy -- my son has always been comfortable, and he always loved the britax galaxy infant seat over the evenflo i had for my husbands car.
He has been doing great in the roundabout the last three years too.
To make one more comparison, the Husky which goes 22 to 80 lbs is really only for an over 1 year old since it does not install rear facing. It is also an enormous and heavy seat which works fine in my truck, but seems a bit big for the Audi A4. So I would still choose the Marathon over the Husky if we were to have another child since it is sized similar to the Roundabout yet takes you to 65 lbs. If you don't have latch, absolutely choose Britax, since it is the safest seat out there and installs just as firm with the top tether as any seat with latch does!
BEST CAR SEAT WORTH THE MONEY!!
Very easy to install; Worth the money

The rash is BACK!Jailbreak gives you several different modes to play: The escaped con, the cop, or the dual player, fun as heck sidecar feature. -They're all a blast.
Bike to bike combat is exquisite, requiring just enough skill to feel proud when you pull up beside somebody and beat them silly, but not so much as to drive you insane. What you say? You want wrecks? Jailbreak's got 'em to spare.
Wiping out in this game is half the fun. Slides flips tumbles rolls and human flight can happen at any turn.
-I've spent almost as much time laughing with friends at wrecks as I've spent winning races.
Alone or with other players, this game is pure, unadulterated fun.
Road Rash Jailbreak kicks A$$!!

Complete with cunning renditions of actual car models and a very playable interface, this game is great for the serious racing simulation fan and the casual gamer. It promises instant action and the kind of gradual advancement that keeps gamers playing for weeks. While the license tests can be hard, the fun track design and sheer number (140-plus) and variety of cars to choose from makes this an exciting race experience. --Allen Stewart
Pros:
- Great graphics
- More than 140 accurately modeled cars
- Awesome replays--actually looks like a TV race
- Steep learning curve

This game is simply "awesome!".
Pretty goodStarting off in the garage, Turismo scores big with 166 real-life cars, ranging from the lowly Honda Civic to the high-end dream machines like the Corvette, Viper, and Toyota Castrol Supra. The excellent selection of tracks delivers plenty of variety, and Turismo performs like a winner with no draw-in, speedy load times, and blazing-fast action. But gameplay is where Turismo really rocks. A fast, pick-up-and-play Arcade mode, along with topnotch two-player split-screen racing, positions Turismo at the head of the pack for casual racing fans. And hardcore racers who delve into the amazing Sim mode will uncover impressive depth. It's almost like fantasy league racing-you test for licenses, participate in a wide array of events, buy and maintain as many cars as you can afford, and even upgrade their performances with a vast multitude of parts.
Need for Speed III may have more flash, but Turismo's got more game. It's one of the must-buy titles of this summer.

NASCAR Rumble lets you race 18 different courses in 6 locations from Daytona Beach to the Gold Country as you tear your way to the finish line. Even if you manage to find yourself in first place during the race, there is no guarantee that you're going to maintain your lead when you hit the finish line. Drivers can pick up crazy power-ups such as twisters and sonic booms, which send cars in front of them flipping off the track at the most inopportune times.
Graphics are stunning, from the water, trees, and mountains to the eye-popping detail of more than 30 NASCAR Cup cars and trucks. There are even seven NASCAR Legends, hidden rides, hidden tracks, and shortcuts, as well as a head-to-head two-player mode.
Purists may prefer NASCAR 2000, also from EA Sports, but in terms of action, NASCAR Rumble makes for a great trip. --Robb Guido
Pros:
- Wild, crazy, insane racing action, especially when you play in Mayhem mode
- Gorgeous graphics considering the speed of this game
- Not as deep or realistic as NASCAR 2000

Absolutely the Best!
WONDERFUL product! No matter where we go, we are always asked where we purchased this, and we are happy to tell each and every parent, grandparent, whoever it is that's asking! I've even waited patiently while another shopper or diner has gotten out pen and paper to write down what it's called and where we got it from!
I debated giving the Floppy Seat 4 stars because I do think it's kind of pricey, however I have to say that I think it's worth every penny! I am so thankful for this product and am so happy that we purchased it!

For the first time since the original line, Smokescreen's car mode is that of an actual vehicle: the Subaru WRC, the car company's rally car. The vehicle mode is uncannily realistic, so much so you could almost see this thing driving down the dirt courses, tearing up earth in pursuit of victory. The hood, all four doors, and trunk all open, though the trunk door doesn't open that much due to the parts needed to transform this figure. The front wheels turn slightly, and the interior is somewhat realistic. This mode represents the term "Robots in Disguise" you can't really tell that this car will transform into a lean, mean, fighting machine.
Transforming Smokescreen from car to robot is a little difficult, nearly impossible if you don't read the instructions. As other reviewers have mentioned, the small magnets that hold the wheels to a brace make transforming the arms properly difficult, though there is a way to do it without tearing the arms off.
As a robot, Smokescreen is both lean and powerful looking. He doesn't have any feet to speak off, so standing him up will be challenging until you figure out how his feet work. But this figure is possible; I have my figure in an "action" pose and he's pretty steady, even if I bang into the shelf he's on. The intercooler of the car transforms into Smokescreen's weapon of choice, probably the simplest of his transformations. His head is reminicant of his G1 form; perhaps the one thing most fans will like about this character.
This is one figure that most Transfans will like; even the kid in front of me in line at the Target was drooling when he saw this guy! Smokescreen is a must have for any fan; unless you're an absolute purist. Also, look for the following Alternators for your collection: Side Swipe (Dodge Viper), Silverstreak (Subaru WRX, repaint and retool of Smokescreen), Hound (Jeep Wrangler Sport), Tracks (Chevrolet Corvette), Miester (Mazda RX-8, Jazz's Japanese name), and the first Decepticon Alternator, Dead End (Dodge Viper, repaint and retool of Side Swipe). I'm waiting for Takara and Hasbro to start making Alternators figures as jets; I'd love to see Starscream as a MiG-29!
Amazingly, Hasbro has packed incredible detail into this car while still allowing a cool transformation. Seats fold, hood opens, all four doors open, tail lights and headlights are extremely realistic, legs separate for excellent robot poseability, and there is plenty of articulation to make very realistic poses.
I am disappointed when parents buy this Transformer for their kids under 12 (under 16 in some cases). Parents may think their kids are excellent at transforming their Transformers, but these Alternators challenge even 33 year olds like myself. Maybe that is one reason Smokescreen is a MUST HAVE for any good old G1 collector!
Man, they weren't kidding when they say in the instructions, "Some parts are made to detach if excessive force is applied." I saw a few parts go zingin' off when I thought I was forcing a stubborn hinge. Some parts are really close together so watch out when you're trying to do what you think is depicted in the instructions. Good thing they're easilly reattachable. Same can't be said of my old collection of Transformers. A few were broken and so was my heart when I looked at them in my toy chest as a kid. I can't decide which is my favorite Alternator though. Side Swipe or Smokescreen. They're both so bad a$$. I can't wait to get the Jeep one and the Corvette one. And I can't wait to get the 20th Aniversary Optimus Prime. Though I'm not too totally sure if he belongs to the Alternators line. But he would definitely round out my Alternators collection. Or maybe I should wait and see of they make a Peterbilt Optimus Prime. :) (...)
