This is a great thing to buy for boys. You have no idea how creative my son got when he found out he could be a farmer in town. But there is a few things you might like to know...My son played very hard with this toy and the wheels needed to be replaced long before they should have. I have no problem updating things but replacement parts are costly.

My 3 year old son recieved this tractor from Santa and my DS loves the tractor. Truly, I'd recommend this product for any 3-6 year old child.

I'm annoyed however for a couple of reasons, primarily as a result of the products quality and details. For instance, the decorative stickers have absolutely lost and/or never had any adhesiveness. The tractor has been out of the box 5 days now and the stickers don't stick. Basically, remember to bring on the super glue as you put this product together.

Another annoyance is the gas cap. The tractor is molded and cut for the gas cap to fit tight;however, the gas cap keeps popping off and is now broken. A 4" diameter hole sits in the side of this tractor just waiting for tiny toys to be dropped in and fished out.

This is not a complaint just something to keep in mind if you purchase this product. Putting the tractor together takes about 20 minutes. You need a block of wood and hammer to pound the wheels in place. DH and I didn't consider that fact when Santa called and we made quite a bit of noise.

We also purchased a trailer for the tractor and found the trailer literally within seconds of performing an Internet search. Attaching the trailer hitch required a 1/2" spade bit and a screw driver so tack on 10 or so additional minutes to put the trailer together.

Overall the product appears safe and stable. We've scrutinized the product and are satisfied outside the stickers and the gas cap.

Our almost 3yr old boy is obsessed with this tractor. It is his favorite ride on toy of the many that he has, including the battery powered car. This is his top choice hands down. We like it too because it seems sturdier than some other ride ons. I would not recommend it for much under 3 yrs or 3 ft tall, because you have to be fairly tall to pedal it. He got it when he was just barely 2 and has only recently grown into it. Buy the trailer that comes with it if you can because they love that too (good luck finding one).

My 4 grandchildren, (Boy and Girls, all 3 years old, and a 2 year old Girl) all have fun driving in the sand or dirt with these little Vehicles. I own almost all of Little Tikes Cars, Trucks, and "Diggers" and they provide hours of fun inside or out. They are safe, last forever, and clean-up like new. I have found that both boys and girls love digging and driving. It has given me much pleasure to watch them play.
The cart detaches a bit too easily, but I have never heard any complaints from the "Little" people.

My son owns MANY Little Tikes toys. All of which I love. This toy has been used to lug sand, to carry little action figures, to run over villainous monsters...you get the picture. He loves it. And I love that Little Tikes toys take a beating for years and come through shining brightly and ready for the next child.

I have a nephew who loves tractors.He just thought this was the neatest setup.He can push the tractor around and haul stuff in the wagon.It is made by Little Tikes which is a good brand to buy.It is very durable and with my nephew he can't even destroy it.(Not saying anything negative about my nephew that is.)He plays out in the dirt and hauls dirt or now at harvest time he hauls around corn which he has picked off ears he found in his uncle's field.If tractors are a hit with your child then this is a good gift.

I'm not sure why Amazon has their age recommendation set at age 4, but I bought this for my son at age 2 and he just LOVES it! He carries this thing around the house all the time, puts all his cars, stuffed animals, etc. in the trailer and pushes them for a "ractor ride." It's a bunch of fun to run this tractor over a large 8 cu. yard pile of dirt, load up the trailer, and off you go. It washes so easily and is just a bunch of fun for my little guy. You just can't go wrong with the durability and the fun factor on this one.

My 18th mth son loves tractors but he gets frustrated when the trailer comes loose from the tractor so easily (it does). I wish the trailer snapped into place behind the tractor. My son still carries the tractor around but hardly plays with the trailer.....

There is no better time of year to come together other than the first harvest, a time of jubilation and elation. Let our children join in on the good times; they have earned it! Red Tractor is convenient and easy to install. Less than the price of a thirteen-word coffee order, and your kids will love you for it. Sturdy, reliable, and from a great company. If you want to start your children on the path to agriculture and government buyouts which can be very lucrative, or if you are just a city slicker who admires the grit of those country folk and yearns for the chance to genetically perfect corn, only to be shot down in the name of nature, then this product is for you! My son Thomas, aged of eight years of age, loves it. Rides it every day in our front yard. Very durable.

We got the farm for our son when he was 18 months because I remember the one I had in the 70s (which moo'd when you opened the barn doors). I just want to tell people not to bash the sound features- our son loves the sounds and has learned which animals belong where because of them. He tells us "cow goes moo," all the while he uses his imagination to actually play with the set. The musical floor that plays "Farmer in the Dell" gets his head bopping and he says "all done" when it's over and it keeps him interested. FP always had sound with this farm, if you choose not to put batteries in it that's your call but there are benefits to it.

My little Marcela (age 3) is a Little People collector. She loves her toys so much! and has created an enthusiasm in her 6 years old sister, who has never been interested in these kind of toys. Now, they both have hours of fun! Althoug it is not easy to get these toys in our city, we can shop them online!
We love the souds of our farm, and the family house (specially the baby who Marcela makes "sleep" in his craddle) the circus and the school bus....recently we bought the Noah's ark game, and we love our little animals! I personally prefer the birds that come with this game, the colors are great, and nice design.

We love this toy. We love the farm concept. I agree with outher reviewers that FP should leave the noises off the toys, I have yet to put a battery in ours.

We got this as a gift, and ours does not have all the items shown in this picture. We did not get a video or the little girl/tractor/dog set. Everything else is there.

The green pasture on each side and the fences keep falling off of ours. I realize that my kids are rougher than most on their toys, but they are only 2 and 3, and are able to snap these pieces off regularly.

The caterpillar "wheels" on Terrance's regular wheels are removable which, any Mom will tell you, is a pain in the rear to continually have to keep putting back on. We finally ditched the caterpillar covers and just use Terrance as a regular train car. Unfortunately, he has no magnetic button on his front, so he always has to be the front "engine". This is more of a filler toy for your set should you decide you really want him. Thankfully, ours came as an extra with a LTD EDITION video. There are so many other great cars to purchase, I'd say skip this one and purchase another.

Well, I bought Terrence a long time ago. As soon as he was taken out of his box, his treads were off. After spending numerous hours looking for them, I decided to leave them off & put them in a safe place. That's the best thing that one can do. Besides, it's really no fun to have a Thomas train that you can't use with the others. So, take my advice, just take the treads off as soon as you take him out of the box. Good luck!

My three year old son wanted this train specifically because the treads or tires as he calls them were removable. I understand this might not be a good thing if your child likes to put things in his/her mouth (fortunately my son does not) however, it does work on the track without the treads (Terence does have a magnet in the back). My son loves to take the treads off and use the train on the track to pull the other trains. He puts the treads back on and uses Terence outside the track. He loves the orange color and thinks it's a pretty neat train. I don't particularly find this toy as educational but it is fun and works great with his train set.

We bought our son the big ride-on John Deere gator for his 3rd birthday and thought this "little gator" would be cute for him to play with when he couldn't be with the big one. He loved it when he got it, but within 15 minutes, a piece had broken off. Two hours later, a wheel broke off and another piece of plastic was coming off. It was very disapointing for my son, especially since he was only driving it on the carpet and not playing roughly with it. I'm sending it back for a refund and will choose another toy. (The big gator is running strong, however! Save your money and buy the ride on!)
